We love exploring the restaurants on South Pearl Street and decided to try another one for date night. Kaos Pizzeria is in a brick home at the north end of the string of restaurants that start at E. Iowa Ave and extend north to E. Arkansas Ave. This place is a converted old brick house like many of the quaint residences on S. Pearl Street. When you walk through their gates you'll see outside seating to the right. As you enter the place there is a counter that separates you from the kitchen. There is a small front room and side room (previous bedrooms I'm guessing). We sat in the front room because it was a little too muggy to sit outside. We did checked out the outside seating which starts at the right side of the building and extends around to the back. The side seating is cozy with lots of vegetation to create a private, comfortable setting. In the back, the seating is also covered with a canopy of vegetation (if I remember right.) What I did notice about the back seating were the misters spraying down a mist of water to cool the diners. The problem is these misters were a little too active for my liking and I imagine the people sitting underneath them would leave with wet clothes. We started dinner by splitting a watermelon salad. It had thin slices of watermelon, lettuce, arugula and a vinaigrette. The salad was huge and very good. We thought about trying the bruschetta, but we weren't quite hungry enough to eat that AND try one of their pizzas. So we went straight to the pizza. Our server, Kent, recommended the chicken pesto. The crust was thin and chewed like bread. It was very good. For toppings it had chicken, goat cheese, onions and lots of other yummy ingredients. We brought home the last two pieces to enjoy later. All in all this was a very cool date place in a very cool street setting. We'll be back. read more

Bummed that one family is inside and they claim to be in peak rush hour. A 20 minute wait has turned to 40 minutes and the guy just said we are trying. Be aware they are never on time when you they give you an estimate. Food quality is also getting worse. You must ask for extra toppings or they will skimp you. Going to look for a new pizza place. Not a fan. We have done a pizza tour for a few months and this isn't it. The dough isn't crunchy, not enough sauce or cheese, and the sausage was only in the middle. Spread out the love please!! Maybe they were just in a hurry! The arugula salad was amazing but there was so much dressing that it wilted and was in a puddle. I mentioned it to my server and she was just lost in space.... Not even an offer to make it right with a different salad or something. The pasta was wonderful though and that's why we gave 2 stars. Came here one day researching for dog friendly places in Denver. The main seating is their outdoor patio which allows pets. The patio is different. It's more like an outdoor antique collection with different tables spread about. I think they have a wooden barrel table and a super old organ. Their menu has pizzas, sandwiches, and pastas. You can also get beer and they have a nice collection of microbrews available. Anyway, we ordered the Coppoloco pizza and the Bruschetta for appetizer. I totally recommend the pizza. It was super flavorful and the sauce/dough ratio was pretty balanced. I would skip on the bruschetta though. There's probably other better appetizers on the menu. I wouldn't mind giving this place another shot. They have other creative pizzas that I would be interested in trying but I wouldn't come to this area just to get it. read more

Came here with my friend for a quick dinner. We sat outside on the patio (socially distanced) and had a great time. It's a very casual trendy atmosphere with lots of outdoor and indoor seating. They have a wide selection of salad, pizza, pasta and beer and wine. I ordered the Watermelon Salad which was HUGE and AMAZING!!! My friend ordered the Beet Salad and the Meatball Appetizer. She loved the beet salad! The meatballs were a little dried out, but also super sized and with fresh basil. For my main meal I ordered the Mac N Cheese, which was super cheesy and creamy. I was once again surprised on how much I enjoyed the pizza, we came here for a late lunch bday party. The party was mainly vegan/vegetarian/ gluten free, and this place was perfect! They were so many options and so many pizzas with interesting twists. I got the wild mushroom pizza gluten free. I loved the gluten free crest here as it is chewy probably made from rice flour. The pizza had Caramelized onions and pesto and the base sauce. I absolutely loved this pizza. They give you a generous amount of toppings and it tastes good. I want try their Hawaiian pizza next time and they use pulled pork instead of ham which sounds delicious and they have a fig and chicken I want to try next time too. I also tried there Margarita pizza, I have had far better else wear, not enough basil, and it just overall was not very good. Great place for good pizza! There is street parking available - we went mid day and had no trouble finding parking less than a block away. There is plenty of indoor and heated outdoor seating! The speciality pizzas can be made half and half which is what we did and a great way to try two different types - only catch is that the base had to be the same. LOVE the ambiance for a local pizza joint. Don't love the way they do pricing. Service rotates a lot, but people are generally very helpful and friendly. Lots of dietary options which is great. Don't like that a pizza can be in the high $20s just to have dairy free and extra veg. Seems odd. They up-price up a lot! $2 here and $4 there for a sprinkle of veggies. It's a joke. Im glad this wasnt my first time eating here cause if it was Id never come back. We waited 40 minutes for a table when they quoted us 20, which we didnt mind much. We sat down and ordered immediately, a caesar salad, breadsticks, a pepperoni pizza with basil and garlic, and a soda. It took 30 minutes to get the salad and 10 more minutes for the garlic bread. Still we never received our soda. 20 more minutes go by and we finally get our pizza, theres no basil on it. Our waters were empty for 30 minutes before getting a refill and we had to order the soda again. It was not a good experience at all. read more

Great spot located right in the heart of Platt Park on Pearl Street. Cute spot with different small rooms and a great patio to sit outside when nice out. Big fan of their salads, sandwiches, and of course pizza. They are plenty big, somewhat on the pricey side, but extremely delicious. Kaos Pizza has a great patio with lots of shade, cast iron furniture and plenty of water and room for our dog. Burrata plate from the appetizers menu was amazing! Flatbread is best around, selection of cheese, meats, olives and veggies with sides of pesto and olive oil. Four Cheese pizza was good with ricotta as the 4th, but greasy in the middle - I mean it was a four cheese pizza. Kaos has great crusts and better sauce. Platte Park never disappoints. I had the beet salad and believe this was the worst salad I've ever had in a restaurant or at home. The greens were wilted and soggy. The beets were bathed in a super sweet syrup. There was no recognizable natural flavor from the vegetables. I'm sure the pizza is better than the salad. Those dining with me all had the pizza and seemed to like it. read more

The pizza is thin crust, which is fine, but there was too much sauce and it was a few minutes under done, which meant it was soggy. My husband rolled a slice like a calzone and I ate mine with a fork and knife. We also ordered two cokes that tasted like a few different flat sofas mixed together. Our waitress was nice and took them off the tab. Ambiance: We sat outside in the back, which is pretty, but our table was close to the kitchen, so we ended up listening to two sources of music (outdoor + kitchen) which was super weird. Ok I came here on a Sunday afternoon with 3 other people for lunch and we did have to wait for about 20 minutes to get seated. We ordered and probably waited about 15 mins to get our food. Husband and I ordered pesto chicken pizza- it was AMAZING. Seriously so good. Friends ordered the prosciutto and mushroom pizza- also good. The service was very good too. The pizza combined with the beautiful outside ambiance made my visit to Kaos Pizzeria a wonderful experience. We went during happy hour which was extremely limited and only applied to a few drafts and wines. Between the four of us, we ordered two 14" pizzas and only had one slice leftover. The Smokestack was delicious and perfectly savory with the roasted poblanos, savory bacon, and creamy goat cheese. Adding some red pepper flakes and Parmesan set this pizza over the top! The Calabrese was also really good. It was the perfect combination of sweet and savory, from the caramelized onions and salty salami. Loved that they let you do "half and half" pizzas, we got to try 4 flavors this way: Smokestack with Fontina Cheese vs. Mushroom and Hawaiian vs. Pepperoni, I definitely liked the 1st pie better simply because of the famous Smokestack, The crusts are free formed and thin and the toppings all over - I equate such "imperfection" to artisan! The Linguini with Clams tasted as good as it looked (personally I don't like dealing with clam shells in my pasta, but the bacon and sauce in this dish made up for everything! Very cool place. This is walkable from our house, so we stopped in with our dog on a Saturday. The food is awesome, pizza was really good. We split a beet salad and a jalapeño pesto pizza that was cooked very nicely and had an interesting (and really good) flavor. Gnarly Mountain Cookies for dessert was a nice touch.
