    Butter Corn Shio Ramen

Small ramen shop. Solid ramen. The butter corn ramen provides a LOT of butter. Takoyaki was good. Service was a little slow as they only had one server minding all the tables.

Dinner in San Diego, California... After my father's cousin's memorial service, my cousins and I went to find some comfort food. I searched my Yelp app and found Karami Ramen. We didn't have a reservation... We appreciated the free shared parking and cozy atmosphere. It had a calm vibe that we needed... to just relax and regroup. I got the colorful Vegan Ramen with spinach noodles, corn, bamboo shoots, cabbage, tofu, and tomatoes. It was just right! It was filling without weighing me down. We also shared some tasty gyoza which added a nice touch to our meal. Thanks for the polite, efficient service!

I have been wanting to come here for a while now, I always miss it because they have select hours of opening. Lunch service is 11-2:30 and dinner is 5-9. When we were able to finally come it was absolutely worth it! The restaurant was small, very clean and the staff was so polite. A very Japanese establishment, and it made me miss being back in Japan. I ordered from their lunch menu which allowed me to try so many different items. The karaage was perfection! The fry On the chicken was seasoned with a little bit of a kick, and fried to perfection! The ramen bowl on the lunch menu is a small size, about half of what the regular ramen bowl serving it which is perfect. You can upgrade to an additional side of noodles or opt for white rice. I opted for rice to go with my karaage and i would do it again! Everything tasted so light and delicious, I hope to come back soon'

We stumbled upon this place by pure accident visiting the grocery store next door. We walked in around lunch hour, one other party was dinning in when we got seated. The hostess was really nice and explained the menu to us as it was our first time dinning in. Our food came out relatively fast. We're pleasantly surprised by the flavor profile of the ramen's, it was different than what we are used to. The portion sizes are reasonable and they have different lunch option in the menu. The place is relatively small, but definitely worth it for a quick bite. The gyoza and Takoyaki tasted fresh. The whole aesthetic felt like if you were actually in Japan. This is definitely a place you want to stop by and visit.

Great little restaurant. Still 5 stars! Just remember they close in the afternoon. If they are full you have two excellent options to eat next door; Mignon Pho and Woomiok.

This place was delicious!! Its in a shopping center mall in the corner tucked away. The place is very small, only seats about 15-20 people. We came on a Friday night around 7pm and seated easily. It wasn't very busy compared to all the other very well known ramen places around here but honestly it is just as good. We got their signature ramen which had delicious broth with a small hint of spice. I loved all the veggies in it as well. They also had combos you could add like a karaage don bowl which was so good. Definitely worth going to check out!!

This is the best ramen I've ever had! This place never disappoints me! I always order their signature ramen! The pork is super tender and the broth is very tasty! I would also like to point out that the service is 10/10! I highly recommend this place!

I came here and ordered the Karami Signature Ramen and wow. The house-made tori paitan chicken broth was insanely creamy, rich, and comforting, with a mild spice that builds gently and never overpowers the flavor. I swapped the pork chashu for chicken, and it was perfect. Tender, juicy, and it soaked up the broth so well. Every topping worked together beautifully, from the seasoned egg to the corn and red ginger. We also got the chicken fried rice, which was soooo good. Savory, slightly smoky, and perfectly cooked. My favorite move is mixing bites of the fried rice with the ramen soup. That combo is unreal and takes everything to the next level. The salt and pepper wings were another standout. Super crunchy on the outside, juicy on the inside, with a bold savory flavor and just the right amount of seasoning. You can't stop at one. For drinks, I had the melon cream soda, and it was amazing. Lightly sweet, creamy, and super refreshing with that classic melon flavor. It paired surprisingly well with the richness of the ramen and felt nostalgic in the best way. I also had a Sapporo Premium Beer, which was crisp, clean, and smooth. Perfect balance to cut through the creamy broth and fried dishes. Service was amazing. The food came out fast, the staff was very attentive, and everything felt smooth and welcoming. The atmosphere is a straight 10/10. I love the Japanese ramen-style setup. It feels authentic, cozy, and fun. Food, service, drinks, and vibe all hit. This is easily a must-visit spot, and I'll definitely be back

Stumbled upon this cute little ramen spot off Convoy on a quiet Wednesday afternoon. I was the only customer, so service was quick and friendly. They had lunch specials, and my server thoughtfully shared a few recommendations. Bonus points for offering happy hour too! I ordered ramen à la carte -- it was on the pricier side. The flavor was decent but not quite standout enough to make this a go-to spot for me. I'm glad I tried it, but with so many ramen options around Convoy, I'm not sure I'd stay loyal to just this one.

A nice little ramen spot! Loved the lunch combo deal. A half sized ramen and an option from some apps. We tried almost all the broths and loved all of them but the classic chicken paitan was my favorite. The gyoza was ok and I'd pass in the future. The karage was super good though. Perfect crispy fry and juicy inside. The chicken cutlet was also good but I'd go karage over cutlet!

    Tori Paitan Shoyu Ramen

Delicious chicken ramen, interestingly enough ramen here is served with cabbage instead of bean sprouts. That's an interesting take that I hope other ramen restaurants try too. Portion size for the regular ramen was excellent. Service was quick and I appreciated the call button to get the servers attention. The place was quiet and cozy during lunch time. I'm definitely going back in the future.

About a year ago, some friends want to try the food out here and I was pleasantly surprised to see how much it had improved! So imagine my surprise where I came in this evening and was completely floored with how abysmal it has somehow become again with only the last few months. The service has been insultingly, rude; we had a talk with our server and even pass along a compliment, it was shocked with how unkindly they responded. Every single item of the menu has been absolutely terrible; the sushi was a quarter of the size it usually is and tastes terrible, the edamame is cold and feels like it was scraped off the floor, and the karaage chicken is now covered in a glaze that is making our stomachs absolutely sick. And the food is even more expensive than it was before! I absolutely do not want to pay for any of this and it makes me sick to my stomach to have wasted our time here this evening.

It is absolutely fantastically amazing. Maybe that's too much use of describing words, but I could actually say more. Paitan broth is a very interesting broth. It is a rich, creamy, and opaque Japanese soup base, most commonly made from chicken (tori paitan). I understand that the preparation takes a lot of time with painstaking patience to create and ultimately serve this particular broth. Marufuku does it right! The Ramen noodles that they use and the toppings that they add just enhance the already amazing taste, and depth of the soup itself. I also like that you can choose your spice level and they also have options to add other additions to truly make this your own Ramen experience. They have other dining choices as well, such as the chicken Katsu Bento, which stands very highly on its own, and I would order that again. Crisp and flavorful chicken, fried to perfection served along with rice, vegetables, and gyoza, even a little corn on the cob, so cute! The service has been excellent with each visit and the staff even spent a little time chatting with us, which was very nice. I also love that this location is within the beautiful setting of the Skydeck. They have their own special, unique ambience, architecture, and lighting to make this just an exemplary experience. I cannot wait to return and I hope I have some time left on this particular trip to come back. In any case, I will be back soon.

Consistency is often what separates a good restaurant from a great one, and Ramen Nagi has delivered a fantastic experience every time I've visited. On this visit, I ordered the tonkotsu ramen with a seasoned egg and braised pork belly, along with a side of karaage. The broth was rich, creamy, and deeply flavorful, with the kind of pork-forward depth that tonkotsu lovers crave. Despite its richness, it remained balanced and drinkable from the first spoonful to the last. The noodles had an excellent texture, and the toppings were spot-on. The pork belly was tender and succulent, while the ajitama egg was beautifully marinated with a perfectly jammy yolk. The karaage was equally impressive - crispy, juicy, and seasoned just right. Served with shredded cabbage, a lemon wedge, and a creamy tartar-style sauce, it was the perfect accompaniment to the ramen. One of the small details that keeps me coming back is the jar of seasoned bean sprouts on every table. Tossed with sesame oil and black pepper, they provide a refreshing crunch and a subtle nutty flavor that pairs wonderfully with the rich broth. I find myself adding them throughout the meal, and they elevate an already excellent bowl. The only disappointment is that Ramen Nagi appears to have discontinued its pickled mustard greens. Longtime customers will likely understand why that's unfortunate. Their tangy, salty bite provided the perfect contrast to the richness of the tonkotsu broth and added another layer of complexity to the meal. The ramen is still outstanding, but I definitely miss having them as an option. What I appreciate most about Ramen Nagi is the balance of flavors and textures in every bowl. Fresh green onions, wood ear mushrooms, tender pork, springy noodles, and that signature creamy broth all come together beautifully. The ability to customize noodle firmness, broth richness, garlic, and spice level makes it easy to tailor the experience exactly to your liking. If you're looking for authentic Hakata-style tonkotsu ramen in San Diego, Ramen Nagi remains one of the best choices in town. Even after five visits, I'm still finding reasons to come back. The quality has been consistently excellent, the karaage is a must-order, and the ramen continues to justify the wait during busy hours. Bottom line: Five visits in, Ramen Nagi still delivers one of the most satisfying bowls of ramen in San Diego. I only wish they'd bring back the pickled mustard greens.

You will be driving in San Diego downtown near Little Italy, where parking is limited, and parking meters are available. The underbelly ramen was $14 that consists of tonkotsu broth, soft-boiled egg, chashu belly, & adobo pulled pork + corn add-on. The drinks I tried were the $11 whisky highball made from toki, sparkling water, & lemon essence + the $12 calpikachu made from peach nectar, calpico, lemon, & vodka. 10/10 on the food. 10/10 on the drinks. Once you walk in, you order at the cash register & they will give you a # & ask where you prefer to sit. There are seats inside the restaurant, but if it's fully booked, there are available seats outside. Since San Diego has the best weather, sitting outside was lovely even during dinner hours. I would definitely come back anytime I visit this city.

When we visited San Diego back in 2016, we ate at Underbelly twice because it was just that good. Returning this trip felt a little like revisiting an old friend. And I'm happy to report... it was every bit as awesome as we remembered! The best part? The staff affectionately called us "O.G.'s" when they heard we had been longtime fans, which immediately made us feel welcome & set the tone for a fun dining experience. We started with the kimchi because some traditions simply should not be broken. Tangy, punchy, spicy & full of flavor, it was the perfect opening act before the ramen arrived. I opted for the Tonkotsu Ramen: rich tonkotsu broth, soft boiled egg & chashu pork. The broth was deeply savory & comforting, the pork tender & flavorful, that perfectly soft egg tied everything together beautifully. It was exactly what ramen dreams are made of. Hubby went with the Underbelly Ramen, extra spicy: tonkotsu broth, soft boiled egg, chashu belly & adobo pulled pork. The extra spice brought serious heat & he was thrilled with every fiery bite! There is something incredibly satisfying about returning to a restaurant years later & finding that the magic is still there. Underbelly delivered the same bold flavors, cozy ramen comfort & cool Little Italy energy that made us fall in love with it the first time around. Not every restaurant earns a repeat visit nearly a decade later & even fewer live up to the memory. Underbelly absolutely did. We will be O.G.'s forever! NOM NOM NOM #YUM
