We came for dinner on Tuesday. Not busy at all. We were able to get parking in the back parking structure easily. Skydeck is causal and a lot of families came with kids. We ordered 1 chicken karaage ($9.5) and 1 Hakata Tonkotsu DX($21.75) for our kids to share. Kids liked both items. A little funny thing was the server didn't offer our kids forks for ramen (I think he overestimated how good my 3 and 6 years old kids were with chopsticks. They can't use regular chopsticks yet). James ordered Hakata Tonkotsu DX with spicy. He liked the flavor but he didn't like how thin the noodles was. He still prefer the spicy ramen from Nishiki better. I got the soup less MAZE soba. It's got a different type of noodles. I like the flavor. It's also a lot of noodles and I was stuffed after finishing the whole bowl.

After my first visit here almost 2 years ago, the Paitan Ramen has been on my mind and there has been nothing that has come close to this experience with this particular broth. It is absolutely fantastically amazing. Maybe that's too much use of describing words, but I could actually say more. Paitan broth is a very interesting broth. It is a rich, creamy, and opaque Japanese soup base, most commonly made from chicken (tori paitan). I understand that the preparation takes a lot of time with painstaking patience to create and ultimately serve this particular broth. Marufuku does it right! The Ramen noodles that they use and the toppings that they add just enhance the already amazing taste, and depth of the soup itself. I also like that you can choose your spice level and they also have options to add other additions to truly make this your own Ramen experience. They have other dining choices as well, such as the chicken Katsu Bento, which stands very highly on its own, and I would order that again. Crisp and flavorful chicken, fried to perfection served along with rice, vegetables, and gyoza, even a little corn on the cob, so cute! The service has been excellent with each visit and the staff even spent a little time chatting with us, which was very nice. I also love that this location is within the beautiful setting of the Skydeck. They have their own special, unique ambience, architecture, and lighting to make this just an exemplary experience. I cannot wait to return and I hope I have some time left on this particular trip to come back. In any case, I will be back soon.

I came back here and tried some new things on the menu. We ordered the mazesoba which is dry ramen, no broth and a karaage and gyoza bento box. I thought the mazesoba was ok. But the bento boxes are $2 off from 11-5 daily. This is such a great value because for about $16, this came with salad, corn, rice, substantial 7 pieces of kaarage and 2 pieces of gyoza. And a small bowl of veggie ramen. Very good and friendly service.

I've tried this ramen place at their location in San Francisco's Japantown, and I was so happy when I found out that they were coming to the Sky Deck in Del Mar! I ordered the Hakata Tonkotsu DX, and it was amazing. Super rich in flavor, and the pork was exquisitely cooked. The egg that I ordered with it was also the perfect jammy consistency. Super quick and convenient service with the tablet that they bring directly to your table to pay the check. I love coming to the Sky Deck because of all of its food options, but this one takes the cake for me!

I have come to the restaurant many times, it's my #1 Ramen recommendation. My favorite dish is the Spicy TanTan Men. They are always SO QUICK to serve food, have always treated me kindly, and the food has always been really good. The restaurant itself is in Skydeck and it very comfortable with nice warm lighting. Every time I bring someone here, they tell me "you were right"

Best ramen around. Kids love it also. Hakata Tonkotsu is my go-to. Yummy, rich broth. Gyoza good and cooked well. Brussel sprouts nice and crunchy. Sauce ocean-y (salt flavor). Ko did a great job with our family of 7. She is very organized and attentive. Love the decor in sky deck. Very open, and refreshing. Gratuity added for larger groups. There is also a 4% surcharge (increases in food cost and minimum wage per menu/receipt). Everything was great. We'll be back.

We were craving something warm and comforting after a long beach day, so we ordered Marufuku Ramen on Uber Eats. I've had a lot of ramen over the years and was really looking forward to this one. The good first, the ramen arrived hot, which is always a win for delivery, and the broth itself was excellent. Rich, flavorful, and exactly what you want when you're in the mood for comfort food. That part absolutely delivered. We ordered the Hakata Tonkotsu, and while the flavor was there, a few things fell a bit short. The noodles, for me, didn't feel like that elevated, restaurant-quality ramen you expect. They leaned more toward a packaged noodle texture rather than that fresh, springy bite you typically get at a higher-end ramen spot. The pork belly was also a bit surprising. Instead of those thick, melt-in-your-mouth slices you usually see, it came as two very thin pieces that honestly resembled bacon more than traditional chashu. Not bad, just not what you expect at this price point. We did ask for spice in one order, and instead of it being incorporated, it came on the side as a chili powder. That said, it actually turned out to be a nice touch since everyone could customize their heat level. Toppings overall felt a little sparse. Not a ton of sprouts or extras, and for the price, you usually expect a bit more going on in the bowl. Now, the standout surprise, the gyoza. We ordered four orders (seven per order), and they disappeared fast. Crispy, flavorful, and honestly the favorite of the night. Definitely worth adding to your order. Overall, I'd give it: ***** for flavor (the broth really carries it) *** for ingredient quality and portion/value It's still a solid option, especially if you're ordering in and want something warm and satisfying. Just not quite at the level of some of the more standout ramen spots. And don't skip the gyoza.

Marufuku is a Japanese name that translates to "circle of good luck" and is associated with peace and serenity in nature. It's also the name of a popular ramen restaurant which has several locations: NYC, San Francisco, Las Vegas and more.... While this Del Mar location has been here for over four years, earlier this week was my first visit. Located inside the Sky Deck hall of restaurants, Marufuku Ramen is towards the back, with floating from the ceiling, wooden whales similar to the one out on the promenade. Was greeted cordially allowed seating anywhere of choice even with my pup in tow. I had previously reviewed the menu, even though their claim of fame is the ramen with tonkotsu(pork) which I don't eat as well as the Paitan Chicken, which sometimes I'm allergic to so I'm not a big fan of chicken. I was so glad the menu listed a vegan option. The veggie ramen, includes spinach thin noodles, assortment of vegetables in a miso veggie broth and that's what I ordered in addition to a mini bowl of rice topped with Mentai trout roe and a Japanese citrus soda called Yuzu a refreshing drink. Everything was presented quickly and all looked perfect to warm up during a cold day. The ramen broth soup seemed lighter than expected and not too salty, although I ordered it mild not spicy, I did eventually order chili oil to add more spicy kick and it enhanced the flavors. All the medley of veggies packed in the bowl added depth to this ramen dish that any vegan or non vegan could enjoy. The Mentai mini rice bowl was line eating spoonfuls of caviar with rice sprouts and seaweed in its wondrous glory, I was glad I chose this and not some of the fried stuff on the menu. This mini rice bowl was actually filling, after slurping all the broth and a few bites of the mini rice bowl I feel satiated and boxed the rest togo for perhaps later. Service from the staff and the waiter Daniel was attentive and accommodating. The dining area was clean and darkly lit just like a japanese small restaurant but with modernized decor and vibe. A positive experience worthy of my recommendation.

It's been a while since we dined at Marufuku and it did not disappoint! We ordered the tonkatsu dx ramen, because they already ran out of the chicken paitan dx ramen at 7:30pm due to limited daily servings. The bowls appear small but they are packed with perfectly cooked ramen noodles and generous portions of protein. The broiled egg was perfectly done, but I was sad my son stole it from my bowl. Kids love the rice bowls and ramen too! Adding an extra side of noodles is the perfect serving size for our little ones. We will definitely come back again!

Delicious solid ramen spot! We came on a Tuesday around 4:30 pm and they were empty besides a few takeout orders. We shared the chicken karaage, hakata tonkotsu and their special chicken paitan dx. Everything was delicious and good portions! The chicken karaage was so tasty, crispy, juicy and went well with the mayo dipping sauce which wasn't spicy. The hakata tonkotsu was also tasty, flavorful and rich without being overly salty. The ramen noodles were thinner but still nicely chewy and yummy. The chicken paitan dx was on the lighter and blander side but still tasty and comforting. The grilled chicken leg included came on a sizzling hot plate along with beans sprouts which was a nice touch. The chicken leg was huge, juicy and tender, and super flavorful and seasoned with a soy sauce. We heard the chicken paitan dx has only 15 servings a day so we had to try it and I was glad we did! Our server Colin was super nice and friendly, explained the menu as we were first timers, and checked on us often. He even helped put our leftovers into takeout boxes which was so nice! Food also came out pretty quickly. FYI there is a 4% surcharge on the bill. They're located in the Sky Deck food hall but there's a moderate amount of tables. Clean and aesthetic and modern vibe. I would come back!

Unfortunately, they recently changed the menu and I can no longer get tonkotsu broth. They only offer chicken broth ramen which I do not care for in the slightest. Even the additions I used to put in my ramen (bok choy and bamboo shoots) are gone. I can get over removing my favorite vegetable add-ons, but ramen broth is a pretty important item and I'm shocked the options are gone. I think you'll lose a lot of customers by committing to just one base as I think a lot of people have a clear preference. I will also say that service, drinks, and ambiance are all still top-notch! Tonight was especially good from a service standpoint. Incredibly nice, helpful staff! Saki menu is good. Cocktails are generally on-point. They always deliver in those areas. I'm currently super disappointed. Please bring back our broth options and you'll definitely be a five-star spot.

A normal meal. A casual San Diego ramen situation. Incorrect. What actually happened was that my child experienced a culinary event so powerful it rearranged her internal belief system. She took one bite and immediately declared it her "favorite meal ever" and "the best sushi on earth," which is impressive because those are two separate categories of food, but honestly I respect the conviction. At that moment, she became a tiny ramen prophet. A noodle evangelist. A sushi sommelier of chaos. I was no longer her father. I was merely the adult with a wallet and transportation. The ramen was fantastic. The sushi was fresh. The whole place had that magical "we actually care about what we are doing" energy, which is increasingly rare in a world held together by parking apps and spiritual fatigue. Then, as if the first visit had not already altered the timeline, my daughter made me go back the next day. Not requested. Not suggested. Made. There was no negotiation. She had tasted the mountain and demanded we return to the temple. So we did. And it was still excellent. BESHOCK is now officially part of our family lore. Somewhere between "remember that time we saw the ocean" and "remember when your daughter discovered ramen and briefly became a food critic possessed by a joyful sea dragon." Highly recommend. Bring your children only if you are emotionally prepared for them to ask to come back immediately.
