I came in to get takeout about 710 and they had a closed sign on the door but they supposedly dont close till 730 on Saturday! My family tried this restaurant today during their grand opening. They sold out of food quickly after opening today so we placed our order to pick up later in the day. They were extremely busy and working hard to keep up with the demand and first day kinks. We tried the oxtails, chopped chicken, Rasta pasta, and several of the side dishes. Food was excellent. Large portion sizes, you can easily make 2-3 plates off the Rasta pasta. The jerk chicken was juicy and definitely had some kick. Let me tell you... this place is FIRE!!!! Everything I ate was absolutely AMAZING. Went in and ordered my food, the girl at the counter was so sweet and very helpful with all my questions. Grabbed a fantastic rum punch from the bar and waited on my food. Decided since this was my first experience, I was going to go all out, and I am glad I did. Got the whole jerk chicken for the family, jerk chicken sandwich, Mac and cheese, greens, yams, and plantains. Threw in some corn bread as the whole chicken was a family meal. I believe this is a fairly new restaurant. Very friendly staff. We ordered the shrimp and Mac and the jerk chicken with cabbage rice and peas. The shrimp Mac was very tasty. So was the jerk chicken. The rice was cooked well and cabbage flavorful. The only reason I won't give 5 stars is because the chopped bone in chicken doesn't make for a quick dining experience. Too many jagged bones to pick through while eating. I understand a lot of Jamaican restaurants do this but still find it a bit annoying. read more

WOW. The food here is excellent. We first ordered on a night when they were our of dry rub ribs and got the jerk ribs instead. It's now a staple of our order. I loved the oxtail so much that I tried to make my own version at home (fun, but it fell far short). There is so much more I want to try here. People are nice too. read more

THANK YOU! Finally someone has come to the area that can cook jerk the way its supposed to be done. My husband's favorite jerk spot (Sweet Mango's) in D.C. closed a few years back. Since then we've been on the hunt for a good jerk restaurant to no avail. Everywhere we've visited has not been up to our standards. We've even been to one spot in Jamaica a taxi driver took us to which is sad. Ka'ribbean Fire has allowed us to end our search. One thing we do both prefer when ordering jerk chicken is white meat. No one ever offers it. A lot of times we'll call ahead and ask, they'll respond yes, but then when you get there they don't actually do . Even so, we'll still order the dark meat and it's just not up to par. Ka'ribbean Fire serves both white and dark meat. The second thing that irritates us is when you get your meal and just find that it is baked chicken with a load of jerk marinade thrown on top. Ewwww. Ka'ribbean Fire has scored again by actually grilling the meat the way it should be. So you're getting that smoke flavor too We ordered the cabbage/rice & peas because I wanted an authentic jerk plate. I figured if it was good I'd come back and try the other side dishes. Can I just say WOW! They were almost better than the star of the dish, the chicken itself lol. We will be back on a regular basis. We both can't wait to try other dishes. I was determined to support her restaurant, and finally made it by there today. And, as always, the food did not disappoint!! Everything I ordered is DELICIOUS!! The wait time was so not worth the meal! Portion is great-curry chicken with cabbage and rice n peas...I think I have high blood pressure now and my tongue burns(not from the spices). The service is great and the food is flavorful. I've been to the restaurant multiple times and will return however, I would caution that recently I've noticed the food has been very salty. Recently I've ordered the curry chicken (lots of bones), jerk Turkey wings and jerk chicken and they have all been a little too heavy handed on the salt.
