    Breakfast Sammie
    Bre B.

We've been to Jiggers so we figured since we were in the area we'd try Jiggers south (now Karie's kitchen). For me the highlight was my virgin Bloody Mary. It was HUGE!! Delicious, flavorful, spiced but not overly so. A meal in itself. My friend had a burrito Sammie which looked good. I didn't try it. The grits were soft and creamy but lacked flavor, they were very bland. The bacon cheddar waffle which was really good. Also very bland though. The home fries were hard and overcooked/rubbery. I'd definitely return for another Bloody Mary.

The good was amazing and the service odds pretty good for the situation. We came in late morning Sunday and we still had to wait about an hour and a half but the staff were transparent about wait times and very apologetic. The food off worth the wait I promise. Made a group of returning customers out of us. Sitting outside in the summer is the move!

Bloody Mary can you tell the original from virgin?

It's not named jigger's anyone, same owner just name change(Karie's) I feel there is a story there. The food was good but the Bloody Mary was amazing. They have virgin options ( my friend had that option). I had breakfast burritos so good. Egg,bacon, cheese on a waffle sandwich my friend said was good. The place was cool. Had a great vibe with in and outside eating areas. The service is great and friendly. Will be back.

The food and service was excellent. Our waitress also had a great sense of humor. Everyone was very busy, but was still kind enough to make coffee to go while we waited for a table outside. I highly recommend the Bloody Mary once you get a table!

Talk about hidden gem of NK! Came here to try it out and was so happy that I came! A variety of delicious options and I will be coming back with my family! I had the banana bread French toast and it's a chocolate lovers dream! The coffee and orange juice were both delicious! Bought some muffins to go so I'll see how they taste but they're so beautiful . Everyone is very welcoming, especially Carrie, and so ready to help even during lunch rush hour! They're not opened on tuesdays just so that you can plan your visit!

This restaurant is now called Karie's Kitchen. WOW WOW WOW! This was an amazing brunch! The blood Mary was loaded and spot on! The lobster Benedict was perfectly seasoned and fresh! The steak bomb Benedict was seasoned perfectly and delicious. It was busy, but the service was fast. Great covered patio and nicely shaded. We will be going back for a second time before heading home.

    Breakfast on the deck.

Stopped in for Sunday brunch about 10 AM. Got out about 12:10. Definitely NOT worth the wait for unremarkable eggs, bacon and toast. Here is our story: There was a 45 minute wait, which seems to be normal for most places around here. We got our table at about 11. The waiter set us up with coffees, came back and took our orders. All good. There are only about 10 tables here, 6 on the deck, maybe 3 inside. I counted 4 servers. After about 30 minutes I started noticing things. There were two empty tables and it took about 10 minutes to fill them. There was no food coming out. Not a single table had food and none was coming out. I decided I'd write this review while I waited as we were now pretty annoyed, especially when our server told another table they didn't have enough waitstaff. What? 4 servers for 10 tables? I drank my coffee, waited, waited some more. After about 20 minutes I walked up to the counter and asked for another cup. After another 20 minutes (40 minutes from when we sat down) food did start to come out...just not ours. Somehow we got shuffled back in the queue. Another 5 minutes and our food finally came out. The breakfasts were nothing to write home about, nothing special. Just eggs, bacon and toast. Certainly not something to spend 2 hours to get.

The weather was nice, so we chose to sit out back under the lovely umbrellas and look over the water. They also have adirondack chairs set out, so I imagine it would be a lovely spot for a cocktail and a chat with friends! Our server, Lena, was a DREAM and helped us make our choices. I got a seasonal latte while my partner got the medium-roast pourover coffee. Having had a hard time finding really great coffee recently, we were soooo impressed. They clearly take their coffee program seriously (and now I realize the name should have tipped me off!). The food was equally impressive. It legitimately didn't have to be as good as it was (lol). The yogurt bowl on any menu is usually "meh," but we gave it a try since we wanted some non-meat protein and I am SO glad we did. It was the best yogurt bowl I've ever had- no contest. The whole milk yogurt was creamy; the strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries were ripe; the honey and granola added crunch and some floral sweetness; and the best part was the raspberry preserves they pipe on top. I wish I could recreate this at home! We also loved the lemon poppyseed loaf with blueberry preserves and cream. Another quick brunch addition that could have been simple, but had so much thought put into the flavors. Overall, a big fan and I'll be back!

We asked to sit outside and were stunned by the epic views of the docks that they have. It truly was a breathtaking sight. My only gripe was that it wasn't as shaded (either naturally or by awnings) as I thought it would be which made for a warm experience. However, the staff were great about accommodating any requests to move with some of the available tables they did have. Also, though no fault of their own I kept getting some septic smells in the breeze. It was faint and not all the time but definitely not something you want while having lunch- hopefully whichever business owner or home owner having that issue can get that cleared up. Our waitress was very friendly, attentive but not overbearing, and made sure we were well taken care of. I ordered the fish and chips. Our food came out quickly and everything looked good! Their mango coleslaw is unique but tasty. The fish was nice and flaky with a crispy batter. I found it to be a little greasy but nothing too worrying. Overall, a great meal to have by the water. I love that they change their seasonal menu and decor throughout the year. It keeps every visit feeling fresh and fun. The staff is one of the best parts of the experience. They're friendly, genuine and honest. They recognized us when we walked in, remembered their regular customers by name and even knew many of their usual orders. That level of service is so impressive and really makes you feel welcome. I stuck with my tried-and-true favorite, the gluten-free Johnnycake with sausage, poached eggs and hollandaise. It was just as delicious as I remembered. Once again the portions were generous enough for leftovers. This time I also tried the gluten-free cinnamon roll with butter. Flavorful and delicious! (And yes, butter really does make everything better! ) I'll continue to rave about Mae's Place and can't wait to come back to try one of the gluten-free bagels or wraps next. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the fact that most everyone was appropriately dressed for a tea time experience. The big highlights for me were desserts and scone. The scones were warm and not at all dry. My only critique was that the chicken salad sandwich had far too much bread, could barely taste any of the filling. Desserts for the day were a Salted caramel bon bon, Strawberry frosted Donut macaron, and Lemon cheesecake petit four. Everything tasted excellent (except the lacking chicken salad sandwich) and was well prepared. I thought the experience was well worth the money, definitely recommend. We came to celebrate my birthday, so they lit a candle for us which was cute and appreciated! The menu is posted online in advance, so you know what you're getting. I enjoy eating many different things in small bite-sized portions and I thought all of the food tasted good. The portion is a full meal, albeit it's mostly carbs and sugar. That would be my one critique--it's a bit too sweet and there weren't enough savories. Price-wise, it was $50 per person. I really like that the price is inclusive of taxes, service, and tips. The photos show food at $100 for two people. It was filling, but a very sugary filling. The decor is cute, but some details could have been better. For example, the tea cake tower is black and modern-looking and honestly, not cute or matching. Some light piano music softly playing in the background would have been nice. The customer service is fine. We did street parking and while we came at a rather odd time, we still got a bit of traffic due to construction. Overall, I really enjoyed tea time at Sweet Marie's and would consider coming here again for a special occasion!

Yes, there is a bar, BUT it is also a treasured North Kingstown breakfast spot. We arrived on Saturday morning--not crazy busy, but busy enough that having only one server and the owner working at around 10 a.m. did not bode well. That concern quickly faded once we placed our orders. The owner was gracious and helpful and did a good job managing the pace. Our party of three ordered the French Toast TX style -- from a very finicky member of our party making specific customizations -- all accommodated with a smile, a Crow's Nest Benny, and, for me, Tres Quesadilla. Hands down, this was the best presentation of a breakfast quesadilla I have ever ordered. Why? Just look at the accompanying picture. The tortillas were cut into smaller, easier-to-handle, triangular pieces. Tortillas can be messy to eat. The salt potato home fries are probably one of the Top 5 I've ever had in my life. No, really. Very subjective, yes, but if you like your home fries crispy on the outside and not soggy on the inside, flavorful--then you might agree.
