Came here for lunch and a beer with friends. It has a similar vibe to a Friday's...except not annoying. They have a large menu of fairly typical family grub pub restaurants, so there's something for everyone. They have a decent but not exciting Beer menu...but something for everyone. The service here is fast and friendly, the atmosphere at lunch was pretty quiet, but I'm guessing when the place is packed it will get loud. The good news here is the the food is really quite good and the portions are pretty large. We all had a chicken corn chowder that was surprisingly cozy and delicious. We also had a crispy sticky chicken sandwich, which was HUGE and super moist with a terrific crunch and not too sweet sauce. My favorite thing was their Karver's Fries...topped with just the right amount of garlic butter and parmesan and served with a nice garlic aioli. REALLY addictive. Fantastic! My wife and I went there on a Saturday night recently. The place was packed. Very nice crowd. We grabbed a seat at the bar. The bartender Stephanie was fantastic! The menu was really great. Our only problem was deciding what to have. I ended up with the pork chops, and my wife chose the fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken. Both amazing! The menu is very detailed with a lot of selections. The appetizers and drinks were also fantastic. Can't wait to go back. Came here for a work dinner. I ordered the half rack with mashed potatoes. We had the nachos as the appetizer. The nachos were good but I like them with just salsa so if you like cheese and peppers it's fine . I asked them not to load the ribs with the glaze but the glaze was still too much so I scraped it off. The meat itself was tender and juicy. The mashed potatoes were your standard fare and the cole slaw was decent . The grand finale was the dessert and I thought it was great. I had the lava chocolate cake with chocolate ganache inside and it was warm and not loaded with choc syrup. It was surrounded with whip cream and the syrup was drizzled on the whip cream. Let's just say I really enjoyed it and would recommend it to chocolate lovers, and my friends enjoyed their cheesecake. This was my first time here. I came here by myself on a rainy afternoon after work and sat at the bar. The bar was divided into glass partitions because of the pandemic. I ordered the Karver's Signature Pasta: fettuccine with Alfredo sauce . I added some grilled Cajun shrimp, which turned out too spicy. LaFonda served me. She went to look for the manager Kim, who replaced my order with spice-free grilled shrimp. It was delicious. However, I could only eat one third of the entire dish, which was huge. To drink, I ordered the Mango Creamcicle--mango puree, vodka, triple sec and Coco Lopez. It was served in a plastic pouch that the restaurant started using for to-go orders when the quarantine began. LaFonda says that the pouches became so popular, the restaurant decided to keep using it. I skipped dessert because I was so full from the drink and my meal. There are at least ten television screens. ---really! This restaurant is also located in a large retail strip mall that has free parking. Karvers is definitely worth considering if you are looking for good food in a vibrant atmosphere. read more

Um, hey Karvers. I don't know if anyone has told you this before but you spelled "carver" wrong. It's totally okay, I won't tell anybody, especially if you keep doing all the amazing things you did the night I visited about a month ago with my lady and our friends. For starters, thanks for being on Open Table. It just makes things a little easier on a Saturday night when the place was bustling. And what a nice little place it is. Like some kind of tavern/bar/road house/grill all rolled into one. The vibe going on (with live music happening towards the end of our meal) was pretty welcoming (albeit loud-ish). Before we even had a moment to peruse the menu, our extremely friendly, personable, and entirely on point waitress came to our table. She was impressive from start to finish with her ability to never waver at any questions asked, especially when accommodating one of our friends with an ingredient change (despite some interesting wording on the menu). She also gave my buddy and I a tiny taste of a beer on tap before we ended up with a full pour (Gun Hill in the house!). Rockin'. Ya know what else was rockin'? The menu. I mean it hits on a ton of different types of cuisines with nice twists on a few food favorites. For instance, the Mediterranean flatbread that my girlfriend ordered was more like a pizza, donned with grilled chicken, olives, cucumber, tomato, feta, tzatziki, and just a whole lot of tastiness. One step back for a moment as I have to mention the slew of appetizer options. A little Bavarian pretzel action along with some fried pickle spears set this edible evening off wonderfully. Okay, now back to the main course. The Dutch Man was my choice (yes, it had a name) and he consisted of a beef burger topped with smoked gouda, sautéed mushrooms, caramelized onions, and pecan bacon. What a great combination of creamy, earthy, sweet, and salty flavors that contrasted and complimented each other wonderfully. Sweet potato fries on the side hit the spot and rounded out this meal. Well, it almost rounded things out. That night my lady was hankering for some dessert, and when you see the words "rainbow cookie cake" you can't say no. And if you can say no, one bite will make you never say no again! An absolutely perfect slice of heaven that my girlfriend is already bugging me to go get again. Overall, Karvers Grille is a nearly perfect food establishment nestled in Holbrook which, might I add, a lot of Suffolk friends hadn't even heard of it until I asked them if they've been. All that means is now they need to get their keesters over to Karvers so they can revel in the glory of eating here, regardless of how things are spelled. read more

The calamari, fried pickles & fries were amazing!! The dipping sauce for the fried pickles tasted a tad off for us for some reason but without was just fine. We got the penne (large serving!), and the Greek Lamb burger which was sooo tasty and juicy, the white sauce with the feta was a great touch! Burger was a little soggy but everything else outweighed. Karvers is standing the test of time as that location changed hands several times before Karvers came in and saved the day. I heard so many good things about this place from the Holbrook community and my parents frequent this place as wellOn my parents next visit I made sure I was able to tag along for the ride. We walked in and the place was hopping. Instead of waiting for a table we scouted a spot at the bar. We found a tiny spot with room for only one. After about 10 minutes the bartender gave us the heads up when someone was leaving. He got us in at the end of the bar where the three of us could fit. I was super appreciative of how attentive he was to everyone at the bar, even though he was manning it himself. Another great surprise was their happy hour! It last from 11am-7pm, Monday through Friday! How can you beat that. Their happy hour includes $6 appetizers and drink specials. I ordered a sangria, which was very good, and a huge pretzel to share with my parents. The honey mustard with the pretzel was my dip of choice. Following our starter, I ordered a turkey club sandwich. This true key club did not shy from piling on the meat. From the fresh turkey and pecan bacon (yes I said pecan), this sure was a hearty sandwich. I need to also shout out the bartender who not only gave us a heads up as to a vacant spot, but knew the menu inside and out and was able to guide us to what we should order. Moved my son into an apartment in Lake Ronkonkoma last weekend. We wanted to find a place to get a beer and a bite. Karvers fit the bill. First off it is a lot bigger than it looks. Outstanding beer selection. Great food. We had a giant pretzel for the table. My son had the mushroom risotto, wife had a great burger and I Had the shepherds pie. So, we were looking forward to trying someplace new for lunch. Needed to get out of the house! We ordered the Nachos with pulled pork. And I had a delicious chocolate martini, so yummy. My husband did not enjoy the house cheese sauce, I thought it was fine. He really does not care for BBQ sauce and the pulled pork was BBQ sauced. I thought it was fine. He does not like multi colored chips, they don't bother me. Rather than sandwiches we decided to share two more appetizers. We ordered the fried artichoke hearts and the flat bread pizza. The fried artichokes comes with a very mild garlic aioli, I thought is was fine. My husband found it all too bland. We ordered the Bacon Chicken Ranch flat bread but we got the Smoked bbq chicken flat bread. I thought it was good, way too much bbq sauce on it for my liking. My husband was very disappointed as I stated earlier he really does not like BBQ sauce. Perhaps if we had gotten what we ordered he would have been more content. BTW- I checked the receipt, the waiter did put the order in correctly. Must have been a mix up in the kitchen that led to the incorrect flat bread order. Yesterday I had my daughter's baby shower at your restaurant! I can not express enough how phenomenal everything was! Diana was so warm and helpful from the very start of making the reservation for the shower back in the summer and she continued to provide excellent communication as the date got closer and yesterday for the event itself. Chris, Emily and Andrew made the event seamless! They were incredibly professional and helpful and seemed to anticipate our needs before we could even ask for anything! The food was also absolutely delicious and your staff and kitchen were so accommodating to all dietary needs--vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free! Food is great. I had the Mac and Cheese bites and the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich and my friend ordered the traditional Wings and Short ribs stack with mashed potatoes. The service was excellent. Our waitresses brought us refills in a timely manner and checked up on us to see how we were. The Mac and Cheese bites were actually a little disappointing which is why this review doesn't get 5 stars. They just taste like fried dough balls; the mac and cheese flavor is definitely missing. The buffalo chicken sandwich, however, was very good. The bread, the chicken, the sauce etc. I did try one of the traditional wings and they were very good. Definitely one of the better wings I've had. I will definitely be coming back to Karver's to try their other food! read more

What not to say about Karvers. Someone had recommended my family and I here a few years ago and we was not disappointed. I can't believe it took me this long to write a review. When you walk in you are always greeted by a friendly hostess and depending on when you came you may need a reservation, but not most of the time. The decor and ambiance is just right not quite but not loud nice and dim. Big bar along with booth seating and table seating. They also have a private room in the back for events from what I notice. I think by now we have tried the menu. The food is always consistent and always fresh. I honestly can't complain about any food options here. Trust me you won't be disappointed. One of my favorite is the lam burger I must admit it's amazing if you like lamb. The menu has something for everyone even picky eaters. We come here for family dinner or and sometimes date night or even a social hour with friends. I'm telling you. You can't go wrong with this place. The food was ok, nothing special, but tasted ok. I had the French dip sandwich and the roll was broken and could not be eaten as a sandwich, but it tasted fine when eaten with a knife and fork. The sandwich came with a salad which was big and tasted great however the dressing is given on the side, in a small plastic cup, which was half full. I asked for some more dressing to finish up my salad and it was promptly delivered. BUT when I got the bill they charged me a dollar extra for the additional dressing. Come on, there's about ten cents worth of dressing in the cup. I don't mind spending money on good food but I hate to be NICKELED AND DIMED. $19 for the sandwich - just give an extra salad dressing when requested. I may go back but hate be charged for every little thing when I'm paying a lot for basically bar food. The ambience is nice but it gets very loud making it difficult to have a conversation. read more
