Ever date the perfect guy, but there was something off? That's how I feel about Karvers Grille...here's why I have gone to Karvers dozens and dozens of times. I like their extensive menu. However, they have a strict (and stupid) rule that you can not alter any item on the menu. So, if you want fries instead of potato, you are out of luck. I like their cocktails and enjoy going there for happy hour or on a date. But I can't find myself loving their food. Every time I hope I will love what I order, but it always lacks something. I mean, stale bread or stale pizza crust, no salt, needs sweet or sour, mushy needed texture. I can't win whenever I try different things. However, service is always great. And I love their big cozy booths up in the bar area. But, the food needs tweaking for anyone to love it. If you try, you will see what I mean. read more

Love Karvers for the convenience of it being the only restaurant like it in this immediate area. Def a little pricey (2 of us usually end up spending $60) for bar food, but the food is always top notch. I got a salad with cheese, crasins and nuts on it. The dressing was AWESOME. Husband got the burger. Was massive, cooked perfectly and super juicy. The best thing about Karvers is their apps. Pricey, but all the best, specifically, THE WINGS. Bone in or boneless, need to get the Karvers sauce or their signature sauce. It's not spicy, kind of sweet but unlike any other wing sauce and the main thing I always want when I come here! We've tried the other apps and they're also awesome and ordering a bunch of those to share is usually the way to go. read more

Edit: To the owner John who decided to laugh at my comment; I find nothing comical about my review on your establishment. What is so funny about a paying customer leaving a bad review on your business? I'm curious to know if the department of health would find it comical that your cooks do not wear gloves. I'm even more curious to know if they'd find it funny by timing you for allowing your staff to clean everything with solely bleach and hot water which is a health code violation. Great food, I ordered the Mediterranean flatbread. The photo I have is at the end of dinner only showing half of the portion I was given. I ate the second half for lunch the next day. The food at Karvers is pretty good, I especially love the mac and cheese; however, I do feel it is a little pricey. For a typical "bar" type restaurant, you will rack up a $60 check pretty fast for dinner for 2. I also ordered takeout from here recently and could hardly justify the price. The staff is friendly and I do enjoy the food, but this is not typically my first choice for dinner. read more

Karvers Grille First and foremost this is place is amazing, had a get together with my family here. Originally from Queens decided to pay a lot of gas to go somewhere far. And a stager on this place. It's was nice and quiet, guess that was because of the time I have chosen. Severs were great and helpful. My waitress was great had good attitude. Put the main event was the food. Man that nachos that have are for die for. I don't know what it's grilled chicken with jalapeños and there's colorful chips it's addicting. I was shock everyone enjoyed it. The main course was great, good for perfection. Glad I came here. If your willing to take the drive and have a extra couple dollars then this might be your place. Amazing is the word that accurately describes this place and I am disappointed I didn't try it sooner. We came here last weekend for an early dinner and everything was delicious and our waitress was so friendly. I started with a sparking peach cosmo and it was good and something different from what I would usually order. Onto food, we split the Thai chicken pizza to start, OMG it was delicious! I wish we got two! For our entrees he got the French dip with sweet potatoes fries and I got a grilled chicken sandwich it had pecan bacon and garlic aioli and I substituted for the Karvers fries and I am glad I did. Everything was so tasty with lots of flavor. We will most definitely be back sooner rather than later! read more

I happen to love Karvers, however last night I was extremely disappointed. On the fall cocktail menu there is two cocktails made with Apple Cider, I asked for Apple Cider (warmed up) with Dark Rum and I was told "NO" by the manager she stated "the apple cider is only used for the two cocktails on the menu". Are you serious? the cocktails are 15.00 each so why wouldn't you the manager just say I can but I would have to charge you the same price as the others. Which is understandable but NO, there is no accommodating the customer cant make any changes to any cocktails or menu is just mind boggling. Very very upset!! read more

Karvers Grille Dinner Review: Spinach and Artichoke Dip: Very tasty and hot out of the kitchen. Pairs well with the multicolor tortilla chips. 100% would recommend. Bistro Pasta: Came out just as described on the menu (bow tie pasta, sausage, shrimp, and chicken in an incredible white wine sauce). So flavorful and the shrimp was delicious (even though this is not a seafood place). You get enough food to take half of it home for lunch the next day. The double Stoli Orange and club soda, was so strong we thought the vodka was tonic water! Very good drink selection for cocktails too. My Rating: 10/10 read more

Amazing service! Everyone was so nice and welcoming. My food was spectacular and I had such a perfect portion size, enough for me and my husband to share and have leftovers. They were still good the next day! My only tweak would be that the lights are a little dim, and I didn't bring my readers, so the menu was a little difficult to read. Welcoming greeters, our server, Chris was awesome, the servers who brought our food to the table were competent and friendly, the food was fantastic... Very comfortable. We were out in what I guess is considered the porch area, heaters kept me comfy. Would like to have had a new tealight candle on our table because I had to lift one that was lit at an empty table. My second visit, my husband's first...he was pleased. He's fussy about his beer and Chris brought two samples of the ones my husband considered... Overall a delightful experience. I came in for lunch with some coworkers for the first time, and everything was awesome. My coworkers had all been, except for me, and all said such amazing things. We all kept it pretty simple, wraps and salads, but my wrap was delicious. I got the grilled chicken Caesar wrap and it was super well made and tasty. The show stealer was those sweet potato fries. I'd order a full bucket of them. What really did it for me was the service. The staff was so friendly and welcoming and made sure everything was perfect from beginning to end. You really can't beat that. A review without mentioning beer? Who would I be? While I didn't have anything while I was there (hey! Been here plenty of times with food being decent. I was never wowed, but food usually decent. Tonight was depressing. Spicy calamari was soggy, ribeye steak was paper thin and way overcooked. I ordered med/rare with more to rare. It came med well. I don't send food back, never have. Waiter was aware that I wasn't happy with it. So I just went to Karver's to pick up an order I had called in for curbside, When I arrived I couldn't find my debit card. The young man, who I later found out was James Weaver, brought my order out to the curb. At that point I was in a panic tearing my car apart. I explained to James that I couldn't find my card and to please leave my order at the desk until I found it. I was out there for quite some time searching when James came out with my bag and handed it to me and said don't worry about it I paid for it! I just had to write this because I was so moved by his generosity. It was a nice reminder that there are still good people out there willing to help someone out. Thanks James! Wow. Talk about excellent service Karvers Grille takes the prize. We had no reservations on Sunday night & stop in to see if they can accommodate 6 people the hostess said they had one table getting up & could be 10-20 minutes. Within minutes they called us in. When we got to the table we were immediately greeted by the waitress who took our drink orders & appetizers. They dropped off a bread basket & manager popped in to see if we needed anything & said hello. Truly the service & attentive amongst the waitresses & staff gets a 5 plus! The mozzarella stick were delicious on thing it needs is a thicker tomato sauce but it's definitely great. The Chicken tenders were definitely better than the chicken in the Buffalo chicken it was to much to thin for a sandwich. The favorite salad was the Arthur Avenue Salad & Favorite Sandwich was the Philly Steak Sandwich. We were happy to find Karvers Grille & thank you for your great dinner experience. read more

I'm only giving it four stars since I've only been there twice, both times during a slower time of day. I like to judge a place also on their busy time of day. That really shows their strengths and weaknesses. So far absolutely no complaints. Delicious lunch both times. The staff was extremely accommodating for my pregnancy woes, certain foods I crave and certain foods I need to not be anywhere near LOL. I sat at the bar since I didn't want to take up a table as I'm only one person. The bartender was very helpful in picking out something I can eat. He remembered the struggles his wife went through with those certain smell aversions. It was very nice of him to help me find something to eat. Only very mild adjustment, like added hot sauce and extra pickles. I had a BLT that had perfectly cooked bacon! Then the peanut butter pie (not made in house) good. If they can get a pastry chef again I bet this place would be even more loved and positively reviewed! The drinks looked great that he made FYI (but obviously didn't try). read more

Been here a few times before and gain recently for dinner. Not much has changed , great place for drinks and apps but not for food overall. The food is consistently over cooked whether a burger , pork chop , chicken or steak. Burgers come out like dry hockey pucks my pork chop tasted like an old boot that had been left in the desert. I've been wanting to go here for a while and kept putting it off...I'm so mad at myself for doing that....but the best things in life are worth waiting for! My boyfriend and I started with nachos topped with BBQ chicken as an appetizer. It was delicious and the portion was HUGE! It could have easily been our meal. The cubed chicken pieces were so tender and loaded with flavor! The guacamole on top was delicious and fresh. Everything about this nachos was great. It delivered a fiesta in my mouth! Mmmmm For my entree I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich. It was grilled chicken with pecan bacon, pesto mayo, lettuce, tomato and onion on a roll. I was so full from the nachos that I was only able to eat a few bites of this delicious sandwich. The chicken was grilled perfectly. The pecan bacon....OMG....amazing! Anything with bacon is delicious in my book! The pesto mayo drizzled on top was yummy! With my sandwich I got onion rings. These onion rings were HUGE! They were fried perfectly. Very crispy and flavorful. My boyfriend ordered the pulled pork sandwich. It was served with onion straws and coleslaw. He was also only able to eat a few bites because he was full from the nachos. HOWEVER it was amazing! The pork was seasoned nicely and cooked perfectly. Mmmm! With his sandwich he got sweet potato fries. They were good and not salty at all! Karvers is one of those places you can go to when you want a nice meal out, and don't want to risk being irritated by bad service, or disappointed by bad food. Service is always pleasant, and food is consistent. The menu is varied. Particularly like their Mac & Cheese, which is a huge portion especially when topped (I like the pulled pork myself). Apps and drinks are also good. The menu is a bit "odd" in their choices for some combinations (for example, a patty melt on WHITE bread, a BBQ burger with pepper-jack instead of cheddar, or Fish & Chips that come with "crisps" instead of "chips".) Because the menu clearly reads "substitutions rejected" it makes you hesitant to ask them for a more mainstream pairing. Selection of beers is great, and the bartending is good (though I think they could be a little more generous with the pour when it comes to mixed drinks). Despite these few issues (and they're minor, really), we keep going back because it's good, and it's consistent (which is hard to find lately). read more

Warning - do not alter any toppings on any of the burgers on the menu. If you do you get charged per topping as a "build your own" burger. My $14 burger was $22 tonight because I added a fried egg to it. A fried egg is about $2 on the menu; but they charge for all the original toppings that were on the burger a la carte. I love this place, I'd give it 5 stars if it wasn't for things like this that make an otherwise enjoyable dinner regretful. Great food, great service and plenty of wonderful choices on the menu. The prices are definitely good and you get more than enough food.

The short: perfect place for local, casual, tasty American eats. The longer: we came here on a Monday night, and were surprised to see the restaurant packed and bar seats all taken. We waited 20 minutes at the bar, while enjoying some rosè. We sat at a high top booth near the bar. The space is loud and there are tons of TVs, but you can still hear your friends at the table. We shared two apps: the loaded cheese fries and jumbo Bavarian pretzel. I highly recommend both. Both were HUGE. I could've honestly skipped dinner after the apps. I ordered the Greek quinoa salad. It was good, but I was too fully to enjoy it... and I forgot my leftovers in the car so I couldn't even enjoy them the next day! :( I highly recommend this spot and would come back if I was in the area. read more
