I made a pick up order of 4 rolls last night. I was told it'll be ready within 40 minutes, but had to wait 1 hour for it to be ready. I got home with the food and ate it with my girlfriend. The fish was warm and i didn't give it too much significance because it tasted ok. A few hours later we woke up from sleep both of us with a strong stomachache and we spent the night awake throwing up. Bad and not fresh food is one thing that should never happen when you eat outside and therefore I don't advice you to choose this place. read more

A very good Park Hill delivery option, especially when you want sushi last-minute. I've ordered from these guys at least twice in the past few months. Get: Sweet potato roll. I used their online order & delivery service (no extra charge for delivery!) They advertise that food would arrive in 45 minutes (which is really fast). It instead came in 1 hour and 20 minutes (which seems more accurate if you think about how much time it takes to make the food and how much time it takes to locate your customer). I am subtracting a star for that false advertisement. However, I will give them props for arriving straight at my door despite my complex being gated and difficult to get into. It was a pleasant surprise that I didn't have to go walk out in the cold to open the gate to the parking lot. I tried the hot night roll for $12.95 (Shrimp tempura & cucumber topped w/ spicy tuna & tempura flakes, spicy mayo and eel sauce), the spicy tuna cilantro roll for $5.95 & the shaggy dog roll for $11.95 (Ebi tempura & avocado inside, crab meat & tempura crunch, out spicy mayo). Sushi in general is always on the pricier side but I thought that for the size of these rolls, the price would be considered even steeper here. The rolls are pretty compact and I was able to finish all but 4 pieces of my meal. So (with tip), that's about a $36 dinner to get me full. I have actually never been to this location except for pickup. This review is strictly about the food! I don't really eat much raw or adventurous sushi but we love the shaggy dog roll and the lobster tempura roll at this place! So so so tasty always tastes fresh and delicious. However the portions are pretty small compared to other spots I have ordered from so I would say to just keep that in mind. Unlike a lot of the sushi places around here they have some more of the traditional sushi rolls, as well as many delicious special rolls. Every roll I've eaten at this place has been delicious. They also have a good sake selection! This place can be a little pricey, but in my opinion it's totally worth it. Great spot for lunch. They have a variety of good Bento boxes, plus (at the time I am writing this) a neat check in special. Never crowded at lunch, the gal who is there every time I go remembers that the very first time I had a meeting to get to in 55 minutes, and asks jokingly if I'm in a hurry. First off, great memory. My boyfriend and I ordered takeout from here late on a Wednesday night. The lady on the phone was very nice and repeated the order back to me to make sure it was correct. We ordered the Tokyo roll, the black dragon roll, and 2 pieces of seared tuna. It was ready in about 20 minutes and extremely well priced ($36 and something cents). We both thought the food was fresh and delicious. The fish smelled and tasted fresh and the avocado wasn't browned at all on the rolls which was nice to see (last place I ordered from had very brown avocado in their rolls). I came here for take out because I was craving udon. I got the nabeyaki udon here and to my surprise it was very delicious! I should have eaten it there, but I wanted to watch some olympic events, so the takeout container came completely packed full of the contents + soup that it was near impossible to open the blazing hot container without spilling it all over my table. Nonetheless, it was still delicious once I was able to get it under control. While I was waiting, I noticed that there was a great happy hour deal on sushi. $1/piece? hmm I might have to try this, except I'm skeptical at how fresh the fish is here in colorado (i mean where are they getting these fish from? :/) haha. I have driven by Kassai Sushi so many times, I have always wondered about stopping. So, I went for lunch last week. Their lunch hour was not very busy. I sat at the sushi counter and watched a young sushi chef create my lunch. Their "lunch sushi & shashimi" was great. It came with a cup of miso soup and a traditional salad with a wonderful miso carrot sauce with ginger dressing. All of my sushi pieces were fresh tasting and melted in my mouth. I was glad that I ordered an extra Philadelphia roll along with my lunch, which was quite small compared to other sushi restaurants, because I would have been hungry. My waitress was very accommodating to my refills and water. The prices were great accordingly to the smaller portions and I was very happy with my stop. As I was finishing my lunch, another sushi chef arrived. The two behind the counter shared some story and laughed in Japanese. I thought that was a nice thing to see as most sushi restaurants have drab chefs with their heads down, no words exchanged and I always wonder if they enjoy what they were doing. Kassai Sushi would be easy to miss, unless you knew what you were looking for. Tucked into a micro shopping center on the west side of Quebec St. Between another Asian restaurant and a nail salon, it really doesn't stand out. At least until you taste the food! The dining room is deceptively large, but not huge. The bankets are upholstered with Cosmo and Martini recipies. There are a few other decorations on shelf partitions. Decor is a little eclectic but clean and you're not here for that, right? Kassai has a smaller menu of special rolls than most places, but that's good for me. I like the classic nigiri sushi, maybe a rainbow or a dragon roll (both excellent, by the way) and no sauce or glaze that is popular as a topping. I wrote no glaze at the bottom, and although I didn't have a chance to point it out to the waitress, I heard her telling the chefs, bonus points!!! (And a 20% tip) My husband wanted to try some Sake, and although I know nothing about it, the hostess humored us by pointing out the most popular variety. The rolls themselves are on the small side, all the better to take dignified bites, I say. It can get very busy with a long wait closer to the weekend but, I would rather go to a sushi place with lots of customers than no customers at all. We don't live near Kassai so we don't get to visit here as often as we'd like to. Being in the area one night recently we stopped by to enjoy a platter of delicious sushi and a bottle of hot sake with a side of soba noodles for our son. The food is fresh, which is always a priority with seafood! Our server was very kind to our boy. She really went out of her way to keep him happy with toys and treats. (He was a tad grumpy after an interrupted nap.) This is a reliable restaurant with a good menu, consistently tasty food, and friendly service. It is a great place for families. Just ordered this through Yelp! this evening. It was a terribly disappointing experience. Here's the pros and cons: Pros: I "pre-ordered" because delivery wasn't available until 5:30. The food showed up before 5:30, which was great. The spring rolls were crispy and flavorful, as was the sweet and sour sauce that accompanied them. Cons: The rest of the meal was a waste of almost $40. We ordered a California roll, spider roll, and lobster tempura roll. The tempura was burnt; not light and crispy as you would expect from a quality sushi joint. The California roll was bland and the roll fell apart like it was rolled by a first timer. The rice wasn't sticking to any of the rolls and overall the food was just bland. Even the soy sauce had a weird metallic taste to it. We didn't finish the meal and were borderline grossed out with each bite. What a bad experience. We will not be heading back anytime soon. We ordered mango avocado salad and soft shell crab to start. Way too much avocado for my guy but not me (being the Cali girl I am) The crab crispy and fried with a savory sauce. Also had the dragon* roll, which had eel & BBQ sauce for a first try I was very appeased. I ordered the Manhattan roll which was wrapped in salmon aka perfection, and finally the Phoenix roll (I think I'm obsessed with foods named after cities) which had crab meat, plenty of avocado A+ and crunchy bits. I never finish a meal anywhere and I couldn't control myself tonight. Our waitress seemed preoccupied but I was too! So, when we did need somethin we had to flag her down. The atmosphere is very relaxed and casual nice for a quick dinner date or girls get together after work.
