9 of us went here for lunch today. 7 of us were served after more than 30 minutes. My brother and I waited. After 10 more minutes they brought his lunch. I still waited. Everyone was finishing their meal when my lunch appeared - broiled cod instead of beer-battered cod. Very disappointed. Bring meals out all at once.

So much in every bite; cucumber, tomato, onion, feta cheese, cranberries, grapes, roasted brussel sprouts, and chicken! Yum!

Kathy's is the cutest, most welcoming restaurant in Flushing if you are looking for a meal to please the whole family, while taking in the adorable atmosphere. I'm always impressed that they offer new choices on their menu, including a salad I had last night. The brussel sprout salad was so well rounded with a huge bed of spinach, the bitterness of roasted brussel sprouts, the sweetness of the grapes and cranberries, with perfectly grilled chicken on top. I was very pleased. I also had a cup of the clam chowder which I probably wouldn't order again because it was too salty. They offer a wide variety of choices, often making it difficult to choose. For anyone who is in this little town, but has yet to give it a try, do it!

The strawberry salad dressing was delicious too, although the chicken on it was a little tough and dry. The fish and chips were great too. The fries are the beer-battered with a crispy outside, which is my favorite type of fry, and the fish was cooked well too. It's decorated so cute in here for the holidays. I love the bows they put on the lights and how they line the shelves with decor! It definitely adds to the cozy vibe. Our server Jennifer was great too. She matched the ambiance perfectly with a confident, relaxed vibe. Very attentive and honestly one of the better servers I've had this holiday season. One update from my earlier visits: prices have definitely crept up a bit, and they now add a fee for card transactions. Not my favorite surprise at the end of the bill, especially at a place like this. That said, there's still a ton of variety on the menu with plenty of options, plus some more upscale entrées if you're feeling fancy!

My Son got the Sunrise Burger, which was slightly under cooked. Our server never came and asked if we needed drinks or to check on us until she saw the card on the table to pay. Another thing that was strange was the hostess walked by while I was talking to my Son and (i assume it was a piece of trash she grabbed off of the table) but did it so quickly it was odd because 1 -I was unsure of what she did at first and 2-her hand was super close to my plate ...... No concern from the server until AFTER she took my payment and asked if I needed a box.... Nope, no thanks - asked if she wanted me to take it off the bill - I told her not to bother because why bother after it had been paid for??? She apologized and I told her it was not her fault she did not cook it - her response (as she is laughing) "you're right I didn't!" I will not be going back anytime soon

The atmosphere was a typical Cracker Barrel interior with a wonderful fire going in the fireplace. We got seated immediately, and the place was relatively busy. We did sit for approximately 15 to 20 minutes before anybody came to our table for waters and or food orders. We were about to step away from the table and walk out when a waiter came to us asking if we had been helped. We advised that we had not, and he immediately helped us with drinks and food. He definitely saved our meal and opinion of this place. The food was amazing. We haven't had Cracker Barrel, like I said in some time, and we received some food that was deliciously prepared and exactly what we wished for. The chicken and dumplings were delicious with the dumplings, not being overcooked or slimy. The plate was more than enough to fill your stomach. I got the country fried and it was delicious. The sawmill gravy on top was plentiful and a perfect consistency. The waiter even brought over an extra bowl of sawmill gravy for the biscuits we had ordered. The side dishes that we ordered being macaroni and cheese, hash brown casserole, greens, sweet baby carrots were all delicious. I will see if you've never had the greens, you should. It has a little bit of meat in it, which adds to the flavor. This reminded us of why we enjoy Cracker Barrel so much. Again, my shout out to the waiter who saved the day for us. I wish I could remember his name.

I got 3 clusters - A lot of the sections had no meat - so I'm not sure how they came up with that weight amount. All shell? Anyway, I sat to crack them and was hit with a rotten egg smell. I cracked all the legs and they all had this smell. They also were discolored. I have attached photos of some of the bits I saved that were yellow/orange. They were not pink and plump. They were small and yellow. Also, not a sweet smell or even a fishy smell. A rotten egg smell. Needless to say, my $40 order of crab legs went into the trash can. Especially after I researched online about the signs that the cooked crab legs are spoiled. (I attached that too) No dinner for me! My husband's order was messed up too, but not to the extent that mine was. Red Lobster was my favorite place. But, when you try to poison me, we are all done!!

This whole experience made me sad. I am not one to usually post reviews, especially negative, but I…read morefeel this one is warranted. Issues with online ordering - my order was calamari starter, and 1lb of snow crab legs. Calamari, no issue. Crab, I didn't require the side that comes with the order. I don't like wasting food. There is no option on their website to select "no side." I would have paid the same price regardless, so I called instead of placing the order online. First I spoke with a robotic order taker, who could not comprehend that I didn't want a side so I was transferred to a person. The gentleman I spoke to also could not put my order with no side, so he transferred me to what he said was the front desk. I spoke to another woman, I told her I was just trying to place an order, and she transferred me again, where I waited on hold until I got frustrated and hung up. I ended up placing the order online and accepting the side I didn't really want, mashed potatoes instead of the potato wedges that come with the crab. I arrived at the store about 3 minutes prior to my pickup time. Used the restroom, and stood at the pickup window for a good 2-3 minutes where several employees saw me but did not acknowledge me. Eventually someone did say hi, I gave them my name, and I had to wait about 5 minutes more. The inside of the store was dismal. Bathroom was dirty. I know red lob has been going through some hard times and that's not the employees fault, but they didn't even bother to turn on all the lights for the few tables that actually were seated. It was so dark in there with only half the place lit. It was so sad to see. I don't make a lot of money but recently had a really good paycheck so I decided to treat myself and ended up feeling like I got scammed out of $50. When I finally got my food, I moved my car to the empty back parking lot to enjoy. Both my dishes were cold, which is weird because I waited a few extra minutes for my pickup. I've cooked and eaten crab enough to know it goes cold pretty quick so I was willing to overlook that, the crab was probably done before the calamari so when my calamari was also cold it was pretty confusing. The calamari was good, albeit not very warm. They've improved their batter, so that was nice. The crab was overcooked and fell apart so easily that I had to pick apart every shell to get the meat out. It was also unusually small. Most places if you order a pound, you get 2 sets of legs. There were 3 sets in my pound, which sounds better but anyone who eats crab regularly knows that a good portion of the weight is shell. The mashed potatoes were very warm, but a portion of them was browned as if it had been sitting under a heat lamp for too long. I got potato wedges too, which I had replaced with the mashed potatoes. So instead of wanting no potatoes to begin with, I got 2 different kinds. I spent $50 and I am not satiated, and sad now. It seems one of my favorite restaurants, where I would go for special occasions, is on its way out. I don't expect it to be around much longer. I wish I could even say, regardless of all this, thank you to the staff on hand because they're likely underpaid and don't see much business, but when someone is at the pickup window, at least say hi and get their name. Don't come to a computer close to the pickup window, clearly see that they are there, and ignore them because there's no orders up yet. When I worked in food service, I would have probably be written up for that. So sorry red lob, but the staff were not attentive, the ambience in the restaurant was depressing, and the food was overall sub-par for the money. Likely my last visit to the whole chain.
