I came hungry and left absolutely obsessed. The portions are generous, the flavors are layered and vibrant, and everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. Here's what I tried: Banh Mi Chao - Filet Mignon Combo: This dish had everything--tender filet mignon, sunny-side-up eggs, pork ham, pate, cheese, tomato, and bread. It was savory, rich, and fun to eat. Grilled Lemongrass Chicken Bowl: Vermicelli noodles, fresh veggies, crispy shallots, and perfectly grilled lemongrass chicken. As a self-proclaimed lemongrass loyalist, I'd order this again in a heartbeat. Elote: Off-the-cob goodness with crispy shallots, green onions, and tiny shrimp that totally worked--I want them on every elote from now on. Shaken Fries with Filet Mignon: Filet + fries = chaotic good. Salty, savory, and surprisingly addictive. Vietnamese Milk Coffee: Sweet and strong, it gave me the energy to clean my apartment afterward. Milk Tea with Boba and Sugar Cane Fruit Juice: Both refreshing and great complements to the meal. This was the second time I've been here and once again, great service and we enjoyed the filet mignon Banh Mi Chao Special as well as the garlic noodles with bo luc lac. The meat was super tender, not over cooked and well seasoned. We thought the portions were great and shared these dishes. While the onion rings were fun for appetizer, it wasn't as crunchy so it was more on the soggy end. read more

To be clear, 1 star = "Not good". And by "not good" I mean, not good business practices. I love that they are bringing different dishes like banh mi chao to Denver, but I cannot support the fact that the photos on the menu and on the Yelp page are taken from Vox Kitchen in Orange County. I think stealing dishes from another restaurant is a sign of flattery. Attempts in recreating and improving dishes is where competition improves the industry, after all. However, taking the photos that another business put hard work into is not the right way of doing business. To be fair, I messaged Kat's Kitchen directly and told them they should stop this practice, but got no response. So I guess that's that... I believe in supporting locals and Asian businesses, but I can't support this practice. Not to mention that it said "prawns" and we received shrimp on our appetizer (entirely different species here). Also, the dish said "filet mignon" and we were served nothing better than sirloin. Lastly, they charge a credit card fee of 3% without posting it. Overall, there's a ton of false advertisement here and they're putting themselves at legal risk. Buyer beware. There might be room for redemption, but I simply won't be around to figure it out. read more

I've been to Kat's Kitchen a couple of times since they opened in September. My first time I had the Ube Matcha latte, delicious but I'm pretty much in love with their Ube latte -- it's unique, perfectly balanced, and always a treat. The atmosphere is cozy, and the vibe is great. The staff has been friendly up until my most recent visit, which was a bit disappointing. On my last trip, the lady who helped me was noticeably rude. I ordered my usual Ube latte, but when I tried to open the cap to insert the straw, it was really tough to pull off. It ended up causing my drink to spill everywhere. While I totally understand accidents happen, the way she reacted was less than ideal -- she seemed irritated and was visibly upset at having to clean it up. Worse, she didn't offer to make me another drink, which I found frustrating, especially since it was an issue with the cap in the first place. The food looks delicious (I've seen some mouth-watering items coming out of the kitchen), but I haven't had a chance to try it yet. I'm hoping my next visit will be better, but it's hard to ignore the lack of customer service I experienced this time around. We saw the hype of this restaurant on instagram and wanted to support Asian owned businesses however the food was not authentic. When asking the opinion of the server which BBH he wanted.. he seemed annoyed and replied that he doesn't eat that dish. The bun Bo hue with short rib lacked in flavor and did not have all the correct ingredients. Not good. The noodle bowl was completely ruined with pre cut noodles. It's almost as if it was done this way to be eaten with a fork. It ruined the texture and authenticity of a Vietnamese noodle bowl. The fish sauce was also pretty lackluster. Street parking. Could have been bad because there was a lot of people going to two hands corndog place next door but we got parking so it wasn't bad. Place was empty when we arrived. The menu was ok. Huge in physical size but Not much variety. What they had was a bit pricey and the portion size didn't match in my opinion. I ordered the beef stew with fresh baguette. My daughter got salmon salad. There was nothing special about it for me. Her salmon tasted a bit too crispy ( or burnt) and I left feeling hungry. Maybe it was what I ordered but I probably won't return. No wow factor for me. Food was excellent. I had the pork rice noodle bowl and my friend had the combo rice noodle bowl. Both were totally gluten-free. Also mango lemonade, delicious and tea. There is table service decor is light and fun. read more
