I got the chicken chao with a side of eggroll versus the whole appetizer which looked like a whole meal! I did use a delivery service so did not see the location. I got a good serving size of soup with I had some for dinner and lunch the next day. The side of egg roll was perfect. I liked the crispiness of the eggroll. The soup was exactly what I wanted. It had some chopped ginger in it which was different than how my mom has made it for me but figured that was a good thing to help cure my cold! although i've never been to any asian countries, the food here seemed really authentic. my veggie spring rolls and rice noodle bowl were super fresh. the grilled shrimp in my noodle bowl was fabulous: really tasty and easy to eat. i do think, however, that there could've been more tofu in the spring rolls. this is a great place to eat solo. the servers are attentive and friendly, and the restaurant is spacious, with plenty of booths and tables. my only other caveat is that the menu may be a little too big/long. i counted more than ten pages, and it took me a while to choose my meal. however, for families with picky eaters, the wide selection of items is a plus. read more

This is hands down one of the best Vietnamese restaurants I've been to--not just in Denver, but anywhere! And I have the glowing praise from my Vietnamese mom to back that up! We tried two different types of bánh canh (Vietnamese "udon" noodle soup), and both broths were incredibly rich and flavorful. My mom had the roasted duck noodle soup, and she couldn't stop raving about it--from the perfectly cooked duck to the depth of the broth. She's a tough critic, so that says a lot! My sister and mom also got durian and soursop smoothies, respectively, and both were big fans of their drinks! The herb plate was generous, to say the least. We actually had to ask the server to take some away because there was no way we could finish it all. But beyond the quantity, the quality was on point--10/10. I didn't spot a single brown leaf or any imperfections. Everything was fresh and vibrant. As for the service, it was equally top-notch. The staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely warm, making us feel like we were part of their family the whole time we were there. We tried the pho, which was decent--the broth could've used a bit more depth, but they did serve it with plenty of fresh herbs and bean sprouts. The Vietnamese food here is so authentic like my mom's home cooking, that I was craving while visiting Colorado! The Guo Cuon was enough to feed our table of 8, they brought out 3 full bags of rice paper, and we had almost a full bag to take home. The pork and crab was SO good! The salads were SO good, we ordered the pork, shrimp, and seafood one that had squid! Everything was so yummy but the jellyfish on top was quite salty. The mussels were so good, I'd recommend not adding the extra salt and pepper, just the leaf that comes with. We also ordered the bun Bo hue, the spicy beef noodle, but it wasn't up to my standard. The broth was not spicy and the noodles were too soft. The bun lemongrass, the noodle bowl, had an overwhelming amount of noodles. It was ok at best. The beef was good but not what I expected. We also ordered flat noodles, which was fried and stir fried again, very crispy and soft at the same time. I have never had it like that, but it was good. The veggies and meat on top soften the noodles. The Com Dac Biet, the rice dish with the pork, chicken and beef with veggies and egg, was good. Exactly what you'd expect. The pork was the best! Overall, such a good spot to try so much food! The service was good, with a large party. The food came out quick. The ambience was good, not modern but had large TVs. This place is so freaking good! My bf and I each got what we always do at Vietnamese restaurants- a combination bun bowl for me and pho with rare steak and brisket for him. Mine was so flavorful and had the cucumbers with the serrated edges which I love! They gave me plenty of fish sauce and it was perfect. The noodles seemed like a different kind than the traditional vermicelli but it didn't affect the flavor or experience at all- just an observation. The pork was super fatty so I could t each much of it- that is the picture of the pho spoon with meat bits in it, to show how much fat I tore off. A note about the pho spoons in general: they don't have the curve at the top end to be able to lean it on the side of the bowl so my bf's spoon kept falling in his pho. He said the broth was really good, not too salty and very umami. He said he got better the more he ate as well. Service was good but what really took it a step above was that they boxed my leftovers for me. That's never an expectation but definitely a bonus. We typically order #160, which is "Our Famous Combo Appetizer with Grilled Shrimps, Soft-shelled Crab, Pork, Chicken, Fried Shrimp Paste & Egg Roll Rice Paper Wrap." Price has crept up to $44 now, but it is still a huge platter of food that five of us (ok 2 are youths of 10 and 13 years) could barely finish. Drinks (all non alcoholic) were surprisingly expensive and five of them cost nearly as much as the #160. We arrived early for an event so we decided to have an early brunch. Heard about this restaurant so we went in. Greeted and seated right away. We ordered and of course I ended up with a no soup bowl of noodles. Sigh. I always forget to look closely. I ordered the grilled shrimp rice noodle bowl and he ordered the Pho Dac Biet. It's combo meats in a beef flavored rice noodle soup. Because it was cold the soup was lovely. I took some and spooned it into my noodle bowl. He liked his dish and ate it all. The grilled shrimp in my dish was delish. Tasty and well seasoned and not over cooked. Just not a fan of the dry noodles. We really enjoyed getting Vietnamese food from Saigon Bowl. Our favorite dish was the papaya salad. We came to try the bun Bo hue but left loving the papaya salad the best. Great spice to each dish! We also really enjoyed the coconut juice/water with the coconut flesh inside! We are from Hawaii so it reminds us of home. My boyfriend and I have been to Saigon Bowl twice. I have tried the pho (beef noodle soup) and the banh xeo (Vietnamese crepe). He has stuck with the com dac biet (combo rice plate). The pho was good. The banh xeo was okay. I got to try some of the rice plate, and the meats on there were all tasty. The portions are big but not too crazy. Both times, we left really full but not too stuffed. With so many choices on the menu, it is tough to make a decision on what to order. Places like this are treasures and stay true form with their flavors. The menu is vast and we had to narrow down to a few items but I'm excited to come back and try the entire menu. First dish was the salt and pepper calamari. Dusted with salt and white pepper in a corn and rice flour coating, these morsels were great accompanied by a spicy dipping sauce. The crunch was ethereal. Next was partners bun that had proper imperial rolls. The big difference for this dish was the property fried imperial rolls. I can't help but to wonder why it took me over 20 years to comeback to this establishment. I remember as a teenager this was the go to spot for good Vietnamese food and a great hangout spot back in my days. As the weather gets cooler in Denver, I was in the mood for a good noodle soup. When I called for replacement they were short, but eventually offered to replace it. But when I came in to get my new food I was immediately suspected of trying to steal from the business and told that if I did not bring in the meal with the raw meat that they would not replace it. After some arguing they finally replaced it, but then said don't come back here without the meal because we don't know if you're telling the truth or not. I even showed them a picture! No apology. We ordered 2 plates of Spring Rolls, which is one of my favorite Vietnamese Food. The Rolls were OK, but the service was really bad !! We like the Rolls with both Fish Sauce & the Peanut Sauce. For 2 plates or 4 Rolls, we were given only one regular serving of Fish Sauce & Peanut Sauce. When I asked him, he audaciously pointed to the sauces & told the names. Again, I explained to him, for 2 plates, we need 2 sets of sauces ! Then, with a grim face, he went in & brought the sauces ! We were quite hungry that day & were devouring the Rolls !
