The worker was amazing, sweet, he answered all of our questions, and even helped us out when he saw us struggling with one of the games. I didn't have high expectations of walking away with any prizes because I'm use to regular arcade claw machines where you spend so much money and walk away with nothing. I love that this business has games starting at just 1 token and some going up to 9 tokens. And even if the claw machines aren't your thing you can definitely expect to win something from the capsule toy vending machines. They have a great variety of cartoon, anime, and nostalgic items, including stuffed animals, toy figurines, keychains, and building blocks. They have something for everyone. I didn't see any food or drinks for sale, but there are plenty of restaurants nearby if you want to grab something to eat afterward. The ambiance was clean, cute, colorful, bright, and very eye catching which is what made us stop in the first place. Reason enough really but then I learned that if you volunteer you get free beer. Free beer?! I'm all in. After volunteering now three years in a row I've learned there is more to this than beer. We raise funds for needy organizations and have fun doing it. Wow. Back to the beer ... there are hundreds of different taps, bottles and cans of craft beer to be tasted. From the big names like Ballast Point, Dechutes, Shiner and Goose Island to the Houston favorites like Buffalo Bayou, 8th Wonder and Karbach. Most of the brewers have their pro staff nearby to tell you more about there brewing process and some of the subtleties of that blend which you may not pick up right away. Kinds of hops, barrel wood and water source aren't often written onto the can ya know!? Live music is played on two stages while people walk from booth to boot and sample. Other booths have t-shirts, mugs, and other fun stuff for sale. Many of the sponsors have booths set up with deals at venues like Top Golf, Remax and so forth. Food? Man there are all kinds of food stalls available ranging from my favorite the Venezuelan "Essentials" to my second favorite which serves lobster rolls. There also Greek, Asian and of course Texas style brisket.

Cash is better when buying food. Also if you live a bit further away I suggest bringing a change of clothes for after- depending on how the wind blows that day you might not like smelling like a firework the entire drive back home. We drive to the show each year (vs taking the bus from one of the lots) and it's almost an hour drive back, so I prefer to change when I get back to my car. Local Farm-tastic Family Fun!…read more After my daughter sang Old MacDonald, we decided it was time for a real farm visit. This place was close by, and it did not disappoint! We were greeted at the side door by the grandmother, who gave us a personal tour. We saw chickens (who were really running the pecking order), goats, pigs (living their best hog life), ducks (quacking us up), a rabbit (hopping into our hearts), and a cat who clearly thought it owned the farm. My kids (1 and 3) had a hoot, especially petting the goats. We also picked up some handmade soap. All in all, an egg-cellent experience with a nice family running the place. We'll definitely be herding back soon!
