Heard wonderful things about this place, so after delaying fixing my punctured tire for months, I went to Katz. First time I came in, it took them about 45 minutes to "fix my tire" and the guy hastily told me that it was good, that because the wait was so long the fix was on the house. When I examined the tired later, where the nail sat was a globber of rubber. Good to go, right? Within two days that globber had fallen off and I could see my old nail where it had been, sitting there, untouched. I was so disappointed! Nothing was fixed and I was more disappointed with the dishonesty. I decided to try again since maybe i needed to specify that I wanted the nail out. The guy fixed it within 10 minutes and its been about a month or so and everything is still going dandy...no leak. SO I hope that was just a fluke, that the guys here do a good job, but I'll be sure to update if anything changes. read more

I'm going to have to walk back some of the glowing praise I put in my last review. I had a flat tire coming out of work today and was able to put enough air into it to make it to Katz tires. I felt fortunate to make it there instead of somewhere unfamiliar. As I entered I was greeted by a younger guy from the office. The older guys that I spoke about in the last review were nowhere to be found. They were all about customer service, these newer guys not so much. The new managers (?) main duties are apparently to discourage customers from coming in and buying tires. I was told there was a 45 minute to an hour wait which seemed exceptionally long but since I had a flat tire I wasn't going very far. I told him that I had a puncture and was interested in a replacement set of tires. For anyone in the sales business this is called easy money. He said he would get back with me shortly. After waiting a while I wandered up to the office area and asked if there was any tires I could look at while I was waiting. He looked up at me from his computer with what I call an internet stare and said he would be with me in a minute. Another fellow was in the office with him apparently doing nothing. I'm not sure what they were doing that was more important than selling tires to a customer but what do I know. The service guys that actually fix the tires did come through for me. After 20 minutes a different fellow handed me my keys and told me we were good. I was not in any mood to hang around. I thanked him. I left. I'm not sure if this location is any better than their competition anymore. I'm going to do some tire research and purchase at the lowest price even if it's not Katz. If I was the owner of this location I would seriously reevaluate and change up some of the staff. The old guys were great. What happened to them? read more

I got a flat tire on my car last week. Both Firestone and Goodyear wanted about $35 (after fees and taxes) and a few hours of work (probably overnight as I don't get out of work until 5pm). I decided to try out Katz based on the reviews I saw online. I arrived and an older Caucasian man, didn't get his name, took my keys to work on my car immediately. I made a cup of (Keurig) coffee, talked to that man a little bit, sat down to read about two pages, and my tire was done! I asked how much it was and the gentleman from before said "no charge!" Wished I asked what caused my flat, but to be honest, I left ASAP in case they changed their mind haha. Now that I've read some more reviews I can see that kindness is par for the course though. Super friendly service, no wait, extremely fast turn around time, great prices (free). Would not hesitate to recommend this shop. 5 stars from me. read more

Fantastic! I found a nail in my tire causing a slow leak. As one of the few local places open on the weekend, I headed their way on a Sunday morning. I was in & out with a plugged tire in less than 20 minutes. Total cost = $10.75. This is a no-frills place. But the quality of service makes it more endearing than a negative point of contention. This place is great! After having a nightmare of a time dealing with Sears just to GET some tires, i took them to Katz to be put on. They were SO friendly and got me in right away and only charged me 40 bucks to mount, balance and install new valve stems (sears wanted $100) and told me if i ever got a nail in one of them or if anything happened to bing them back and they would repair it for free. The older gentleman working there was so funny and so nice and made the experience so pleasant. It's a no frill tire center but they do have coffe, hot chocolate and wifi. Best you can get at a super price!! Will definitely be going back next time I need tires!! read more

You have to love a place that delivers great service at a great price. Katz is a no-frills operation dealing in new and used tires and wheels, as well as tire repair. The store is essentially a warehouse full of tires, a small office, bathroom, and a very friendly staff of tire professionals. I arrived with a roofing nail embedded in my tire. I was expecting to be pressured into new tire/tires, or at a minimum, a steep repair charge. Instead, my tire was repaired, and the bill was free of charge While I certainly expected a charge, I believe the goodwill Katz earned by this gesture will far outpace the nominal charge they would have collected. So my tire went flat on Friday and the guys I work with were sweet enough to pump it up for me. Took it over to Monro and I should have known better. They wouldn't even look at fixing it. Just told me I needed new tires and it was unrepairable but couldn't even tell me why it went flat. It's kind of funny in hindsight because I took it to Katz and told them I needed some new tires and they told me I didn't. It's a freezing cold Sunday morning. I was in and out in less than half an hour and the guy (I wish I would have caught his name but I didn't) cleaned up the rim, re-sealed it for $20 and I was out the door with a smile on my face. That was just this morning and so far, so good. He also told me if it doesn't hold to bring it back with my receipt and they will credit that towards whatever tire purchase. Now THAT is customer service and more shops should understand that 2 weeks after Christmas maybe everybody doesn't have the money to just buy new tires and they just need something to hold them over for the moment. These guys are awesome!! I was driving cross country from New York to Texas and got a flat tire right outside of Columbus.... it was so flat that the rim was scraping the ground so I thought I would have to get a new tire for sure... I showed up and they saw me right away, took the nail out of the tire, and plugged it up... not only did I not need a new tire, but they did it all for FREE! It took less than 15 minutes! All the reviews for this place sounded too good to be true but I decided to try out Katz Tires anyway for installing some aftermarket wheels that I purchased. This place is really as good as it gets. Fast, easy and thorough service from nice people for a great price. I bought a set of aftermarket wheels for my car and took them to Katz, hoping to buy tires from there and install them. They were able to accommodate my busy schedule and start working with me from the moment I got there. When considering tires, they gave me great options from various price ranges and didn't try to upsell me at all, instead providing honest reviews of the price ranges for tires and what I would need/want. During the install, they ran into a problem with one of my TPMS sensors but replaced it without hassle. I was in and out of there in an hour plus with a great set of wheels and tires for a fantastic price. They also cover any follow-up that could be necessary. Past that, they show enthusiasm for cars and their work, and are just a great bunch to be around. Truly a 5 star shop. read more

Took Yelpers reviews and went to Katz due to one of my tires losing air. They quickly determined what the problem was (leaking tpms/valve) and fixed the problem. I've been coming to Katz for about 12 years now. Like all the other reviews have stated, they're fast, friendly and do a great job. I've never once had someone try to talk me into something I didn't want or need. On 2 separate occasions, most recently yesterday, they've patched a tire for me at no charge. Little things like that are why I, and others, keep coming back. I love the way that Katz runs their business. It should be THE model for all businesses. Their number one goal seems to be 100% customer satisfaction. I know a lot of other companies also make that claim, but Katz is one of the very few places I've been where I truly feel that is the case. I'm a customer for life. I bought a used car a month ago, and after a week or so, the TPS started beeping. I stopped at a gas station and discovered that *both* rear tires were down below 20 PSI. I filled them up, and a week later, the same thing happened. What weirded me out is that it was both tires, and both were slowly losing pressure at the same rate. Since it was a used car, I figured the tires might have been old or not taken care of properly, and spent a few days pricing out new tires. Before making that expensive jump, I decided to get the tires looked at first, and I knew the Katz name was reputable, so drove there just before they opened to get them checked out. I told the technician what was going on, and he had me drive on to one of their outdoor lifts. They hoisted it up, sprayed both tires with soapy solution (which I had neglected to do myself), and it revealed that each tire had a nail in it. I was quite surprised, as I'd put around 600 miles on the car over the past month, and most of those miles likely would have been driving on nails. They were obviously very slow leaks, and the fact that it was both tires at once was bizarre. But the techs at Katz had both tires patched and plugged in fifteen minutes, and I was out of there having paid only $21.50. That sure beats the $600 I would have spent on a new set of four tires! The speed and efficiency was very impressive -- some of the best auto service I've ever had, really -- and there was no talk of upselling me on new tires etc. All in all, it was a great experience and this location of Katz will be my go-to for any future tire issues I may have. read more

I cannot recommend Katz Tires enough for any tire related issues. I've been here to get a tire patched and was charged nothing for the service. I was amazed when they told me it was free. I've bought two used tires here for around $70. I recently came here to get yet another tire and it was $40. The thing I love about Katz (other than the great prices) is the customer service. Someone is always willing to help and let me know what's going on with my car before they make any changes/put the tires on my car. I love that they aren't pushy. I especially love that they are honest. I will continue to go to Katz and recommend them to others as long as I live in Columbus. read more

After discovering a flat leaving work and realizing I needed a new set of tires ASAP (I'd been putting it off), I requested an estimate online, not expecting to hear back until the following morning. To my surprise, I was emailed back that evening! We figured out what tires I would need, the (low!) price, and that I could drop my car off first thing in the morning. Stopped in on a whim and paid ~$100 less than I expected, even below the ticket price they had on the tires. Price was exactly what they told me it would be, and that included rebalancing and they pointed out some of the mechanical issues on my car that I wasn't aware of. The employee said he could sell me just one used tire with the same amount of tread left as the others for $40. Great gentleman and honest salesman. Great experience! Would recommend & will be coming back if any future problems arise. I found a flat tire in the morning during work. I called them during my lunch break & they recommended I come in. Unfortunately the tire had to be replaced, but they were able to get everything done before my lunch break was over (probably took 10-15 minutes)! Their staff was extremely responsive, quick, efficient, knowledgable, and polite. Prices are competitive & they did not try to upsell me or make me buy unnecessary things. I arrived at 6:15 on a Tuesday and I had my fiancé and my 2 month old baby with me. I asked for all new tires and I called before going because I wanted to make sure they had 4 available. About 3 men approached my car and told me I didn't need new tires and my existing tires would last for another year. I explained I had a slow leak in my back tires and I AT LEAST wanted those replaced. I was asked to return the next morning because they were closed...even though the website says 7pm. I called on January 1st at 12:40pm and I was surprised they were open until 2! I explained what I needed and was told to arrive before 1:45 for service. I arrived at 1:15 to discover the doors were locked and there is no answer as I called from outside. I always recommend Katz on Main. My wife has her own pet care business, drives an average of 140 miles a day and I do a lot of sidehustle, sourcing old appliances, electronics and mechanicals from craigslist to repair and resell. Lots of driving between the two of us. We've tried the DiscountStores, the one with the batteries, everybody. Nobody beats Katz for service and price - more importantly, they make sure you have the *right* tire, especially if its a used replacement. That's more important than most folks know. This place is the only pace to go. They are first and foremost GOOD PEOPLE, and they provide great, friendly, and cheap service. I brought my piece of crap '98 minivan in to get my tire patched or replaced. They offered to patch it first and then offered me a good but used tire as well. Both were reasonable prices, especially compared to a Midas I called that wanted twice as much for a new tire and didn't even mention trying to patch the old one. My day took a turn for the worse when they took the spare tire off and found that the 5 bolts that hold the tire in place had been bent when my old rusty spare rim couldn't handle the weight of the car. The bolts literally ate through the rust and made the holes bigger and then bent so much they couldn't screw the lug nuts on. The bolts needed to be replaced and despite them being a tires only shop, the temperature being NEGATIVE, and close to closing time, they went out of their way to help me. Sam Katz (AKA The Man) called several parts shops looking for the right bolts. No one had them so he suggested I get it towed to a dealership or anywhere other than his lot (lol). While I was trying to figure that out, he went out, tried to shave down the bolts as much as possible and got the new tire on and secured well enough for me to drive home. Well he was as successful as one could be in such a situation and I was able to drive it home (It was a short drive and he made sure to tell me it was by no means fixed but at least I wouldn't have to get it towed. THEN, when it came time to pay, Sam only charged me for the new tire and the cost of the new lug nuts he put on, NO LABOR or "Pain in My Ass" Charge. I gave him all the cash I had in my wallet as a tip (not nearly enough) because a) he deserved it and b) I know I would've been gouged by any other shop in my shitty situation. He also recommended a full repair shop he trusted close to my house that could take care of the bigger problem. God Bless Sam Katz and Katz Tires. Hopefully I won't need to but I will be back if I ever have any other tire problems. You'd be dumb to go anywhere else. read more

After a meeting downtown, I was rushing back to the burbs to pick my daughter up from preschool when I suddenly blew my back right tire. I Google Map searched the closest tire shop and it happened to be Katz. I explained the situation and they were able to get my car in and the tire replaced within 20 minutes. They were knowledgable and made good recommendations that considered both value and safety. They even worked to get me the best deal even though I was in no place to negotiate. I love the convenience, the price and the speed for tire changes and new tires. The only negative, is that they do not do alignments on site. You have to drive to one of their other locations, or somewhere else. Definitely recommend them. read more
