I typically not give bad reviews. 3 times at this location, giving benefit of doubt. The 3 time phone order service ( when I told them my order never showed up ). I asked the person at Katz who answered phone to remake my order ( work department group order $120.00 ) and I go pick it up myself. They said no and hung up phone on me. They wanted me to reorder and pay again!!? So I drove there and right away the same person so I not make a scene agreed to remake the order. I got to work and order was incomplete! Person who waited their lunch 2 hours later) and paid for missing food. I called back and spoke to manager who I met in person and who promised to credit my card an call me back. I literally just left the restaurant the food was amazing, but my waiter... his name is Kartson. He was doing fine in the beginning of my dinner. While I was actively eating he asked for my plate which I brushed off, I clearly was still eating. About 2 mins later he come back with the machine to pay & replies " are you guys ready to pay? so you can get out of here? Second visit here. Beautiful space and lots of light in the dining room. Pet friendly patio a plus. Big menu. Service is prompt, but the kitchen is a bit slow on both visits. Pricing is as 2025 average $15-23 a plate, but portions disappoint. It's a common theme on the reviews and in my first visit. Wait staff agreed on portion sizes being small and directed me to the chicken and waffle or Chiliquilles for breakfast. Portion was legit for Chicken and Waffle, added eggs now $20 plate. Chicken is cooked with fish batter like at chilis. Had to sop the grease up with my napkin a bit. May get pricey for families of 3-6 . Service: not terribly busy and I saw plenty of staff, but it took 10-15 min for someone to come to the table. Food: not sure. I ordered the Niçoise salad whose main ingredient is tuna. WOW, where to start. If you are looking for a real deli, forget it. NOTHING served to us (3 orders) was the least bit appealing. My wife's salmon Benedict's salmon was mealy and questionable. Our guest's Corned Beef Hash looked like it was made by a single college guy with no culinary skills whatsoever. Thinly SLICED corned beef (hardly any flavor) was just laid on top of a bed of potatoes. We ordered a to-go order for pick-up. I was surprised to see that there was a credit card surcharge of 2.85%. I saw that my total included taxes and fees, so I assumed the surcharge was included in that number. I added my tip and paid. When I looked at my online receipt, I saw that the taxes and fees already included a gratuity. I tipped on top of the added tip that was included in my bill. I'm not against tipping for to-go orders at all, but I think to be sneaky about already including a tip is very unprofessional, not to mention very misleading. read more

Upon our request he made our menu choices and we got a couple of drinks. One was a custom drink called a Tokyo tea. He made sure it was done correct. We will definitely be back. Then they had to BLEACH the floor because staff spilled olives and the juice all over the floor. Bleach doesn't go well with food, so we got our desert to go. Then when ordering, I wasn't told there was a less expensive option when ordering 3 eggs, bacon and sausage separately like the Klassic breakfast. One option was Belgian waffle for 4.99 but I was charged almost 10. For 2 simple breakfasts with coffee, the total was over $53.00 with standard tip. It took almost five minutes for a waitress to show up just to take our drink orders. The spears of pickles were delicious. Not so much for the flavored teas. The server brings ordinary tea and a saucer cup filled with the flavor so you can pour it in and mix it yourself when you need a refill. The concentrated juice in the flavored teas is thicker. I didn't particularly enjoy the sandwich. I was given a sandwich with balled-up meat in the center, unevenly cut bread, and very little dressing. There was no salt or sugar on the sweet potato fries. I waited more than ten minutes for my drink to be refilled. The waiter didn't realize I needed a refill when he finally came to see how you were doing. The management went to the tables in front of and behind us, avoiding my table, to check on certain tables. At best, it was unprofessional.Overall, the meal presentation and customer service at this establishment need to be improved. read more

What I ACTUALLY got was a $14 soggy turkey and salty ham grill cheese sandwich with no powdered sugar. I told them about the sugar and they made another sandwich I was getting excited because I thought maybe this sandwich would have that crunchy battered outer layer ...NOPE the gave me another turkey/ham grill cheese with a lot of powdered sugar and the raspberry jam was gross. I was hoping I could make the place my spot because the menu reminded me of back home. Once again I'm disappointed and money wasted on another salt pit of a restaurant. read more

I also ordered an order of fries and asked for them to be cooked extra crispy, and they came out cold and mushy. I have no problem paying a lot for high quality food and value, THIS IS NOT THE PLACE! It's Definitely not the same Katz's Deli I went to when I lived in Austin years ago. All I can say it's way overpriced for what you get, If you are looking for legit Deli, you mine as well go to Kenny and Ziggey's, you will spend a little more $money, but you will definitely get what you would expect to get. read more

Meh food that's overpriced. The French toast pales to Denny's. It wasn't warm enough to melt the whipped butter that it didn't come with. We ate at KATZ Memorial City 10/10/2025 in the evening around 6 pm. we have never experienced such "Poor Service", and Bad Attitude from our server additionally we had to return the Texas Beef Slow Roast Plate because it was served cold, the server said they would "remake" the $26.99 plate and instead he returned the plate with the same 2 bites it left with and it was merely lukewarm. Additionally we had to stop 2 different managers to get a drink refill and order dessert. Both Food and Service was bad. We will not be going back. read more

Service was 0/10. The atmosphere seemed normal like other locations but this one left a bad taste in my mouth. Our server Mark was anything but attentive to his 1 of 2 tables during my time here. Waited 20 minutes just for our drinks and another 15 until our order was placed. The location was not busy as there were still tables being sat and customers coming in. I ordered a menu item and got a different item. As I tried to ask Mark what it was he then told me if i wanted something with mashed potatoes and gravy this was the only item the kitchen makes. He made me feel like an idiot & that I had no idea what I ordered, and walked away without giving me an opportunity to try and order something else because he said I was wrong, wouldn't even make an attempt to try to double check what I initially wanted. Spent an hour and a half at this location for 2 non alcoholic drinks and only 1 correct meal. Had to get up and ask a staff member where Mark went because we waited another 20 minutes after he asked if we wanted boxes to pay out bill and leave. I'm not sure if he was having a bad day or just simply didn't want to work. Only had 2 tables and only took orders and disappeared. Other servers on shift were bringing out his food and refills. I spoke with a manager on my way out about the incident and confirmed with her that the order I received vs. what I ordered were two completely different items on the menu.
