The Reuben - Klassic size with pastrami.
    Mark W.

It is nice to see a NY style deli on this side of town. My friend was having a birthday gathering without reservation and I got there early and was able to give them a heads up that we will have a big group of people and they were able to fit on the patio sitting together with 2 servers taking care of us. Skip the fried pickle spears, the batter was terrible and the flavor over all was not good. For the main dish, I got the reuben sandwich with the pastrami as the meat and in Klassic size. It was still a big portion of a sandwich. This is a great 24 hour spot on this side of Houston.

Service was excellent. Friendly. Attentive. (And funny). Food was consistently good and on par with the Katz's brand. This location (a couple blocks from Memorial City Mall) is beautifully decorated and has plenty of parking. One thing to note: the "English muffin" looks more like a hamburger bun than a traditional English muffin you're used to seeing. That being said, it was still toasted well and delicious

We were quickly greeted by friendly hostess & manager and taken to our table. Our server Margan was an absolute pleasure! She was friendly and helpful when I couldn't decide on what to order. Coffee was nice & hot and food was delicious! The chicken & waffles was perfect: chicken was nice & crunchy and the waffles added the perfect amount of sweetness. The brisket Benedict was super tasty the sauce was delicious.

I was really glad to see Katz open up in the neighborhood. It's great to have late-night options for those moments when you suddenly realize you're hungry out in the streets late at night. I've visited a few times already, but one visit stood out when I sat at the bar and Tristan was the bartender. The service was great, and I enjoyed a really tasty peach margarita. I've tried several food items so far, and everything has been just right for late-night snacking. Overall, the ambiance is inviting, friendly, and makes you want to come back

I had a wonderful experience at this location. I stopped in on a weekday off and I was seated right away. The decor reminds me of a fancy old Hollywood diner. The server was pleasant and friendly and I ordered the pastrami hash with scrambled eggs with a waffle on the side. I didn't wait long and my food came out hot, the waffle perfectly crispy on the outside and pillowy soft on the middle. The maple syrup tasted authentic. The eggs were scrambled how I like it, not too runny, and the savory pastrami provided a good balance to the sweet waffle. The bathroom was clean which I appreciated. The music wasn't too loud and all the workers seemed pleasant. I'm glad we have added another good brunch spot on this side of town.

Visit here for a meet and greet. And ordered the waffle with ice cream. Yeah it's a hot fresh waffle for breakfast severe with vanilla ice cream. I ordered mines on the side. With hot maple syrup on the side. The first waffle was not hot as it should've been. They corrected it and replace the entire meal which was great. The tea was a little water down for one bag for the mug size. But it was great with two bags. Or either less water.

We love this new location! Especially when it's late night and you don't want fast food and something a little more mindful, Katzs is a great go-to! We went with breakfast for this visit and challah French toast is a as good as I remember it from 13 years ago when I worked at the montrose location! Service was amazing, everyone friendly but most importantly the hostess were so helpful when we arrived. My husband had a low blood sugar and although we had to wait for our table, the hostess did not hesitate to get him a soda while we waited so his blood sugar could go up. Will definitely be back again!

New Katz's location. Service and atmosphere: This is very modern restaurant that has great decor, comfortable seating arrangements, open bar and nice patio outside. The hostess got us a table, however, no waiting staff were told about our table. We waited for more than 10 minutes after being seated before we had to ask a staff member for attention. Not a good start. Food and drinks: The menu is extensive. There are a lot of options to choose from since they serve 24 hours a day. The variety of foods was really good. I opted for brisket egg Benedict. The eggs were poached nicely and the hollandaise sauce was delicious. We also ordered a burger that was tasty. Good seasoning and flavours all around. We didn't have any alcoholic beverages but the cocktails looked promising by looking at the cocktails list. Pricing: $$ average Houston prices and the food was worth it.

    * note: all proceeds went to Kerrville flood victims from today's preopening** Phenomenal experience at this NY style upscale deli opening this Tuesday in the Memorial area off I10. With Sinatra music playing and very comfortable booths to sit , you immediately can tell they have made an effort to have an ambiance set for comfort food. Matza bowl soup came out hot with just the right amount of saltiness .The blintz with blueberry compote were delicious and available for 2 or 4 pieces. My yelpie also had a Signature Reuben on rye with pastrami which was delish. They even treated us to a lemon Italian creme cake which is their signature dessert this month topped with blueberries and whipped creme. Scrumptious!! We even met owner Barry who took a few moments to tell us about his grandparents journey from NY to Texas and how this location is his 6 th in Htown. Open 24 hours . Definitely worth a visit!

Great to have them in this part of town! Went on their opening weekend and they seemed to be slammed in the kitchen so food was taking a bit to get out, but the service was wonderful! We got an appetizer and two mains and everything was tasty. Their coconut shrimp is one of our go tos. Tried their shrimp and grits, and pasta - no complaints. My usual from them are their sandwiches . Look forward to visiting them soon.

I've been waiting for this place to open for a while now so when I passed by and saw it was open we decided to go. We waited about 20 minutes for a table; not bad! The menu is huge, there were so many options. I ordered the Monte Cristo. While the taste was good, I was disappointed with the size of the sandwich. It might've been the smallest Monte Cristo I've ever had lol. It took forever for the food to come out, but our server apologized multiple times about the wait. He was extremely attentive and friendly. I think the service needs improvement. From my observation I don't think there were enough waitress on the floor. Other than the portion size and service I think I would come back.

This Memorial City location just launched its Grand Opening on 9/2, so I wanted to be the first to experience it. The location is already off to a strong start, providing plenty of parking for their guests, spacious indoor and outdoor seating, and the classic 1950s decor with a modern touch. The turnout was also impressive. My bartender/server, Tristan, handled the rush with ease, ensuring that my party felt well taken care of while staying positive, attentive and professional. Also the menu items were fairly priced. My order of French toast were soo velvety and paired with fresh toppings. Between the great quality food, strong drinks, and well-trained staff, I believe it was a successful opening. I'll check back in a month or two with an update.

If Heaven had a sandwich counter, it would be Katz Deli! The pastrami on rye is pure magic - juicy, smoky, stacked so high it feels like a towering skyscraper. The portions are MASSIVE, but somehow you always leave room for dessert. The staff is friendly and courteous and makes you feel right at home. For this visit, I went with the fried pickles (these are a must!) the meatball parm hero, and for dessert their monthly signature slice of the lemon cake. Every thing was excellent just like I expected. Food and service were both top notch. Tristian did an amazing job taking care of us and his guests behind the bar. This new location is beautiful and stunning on the inside. It was well worth the wait and I can't wait to come back!

The Brussel sprouts and crab hush puppies were great. The breakfast skillet, I could have done without. It had absolutely NO flavor. Luckily I asked for some sour cream and they were able to provide it. That's the only reason I was able to slightly enjoy the dish. The drinks. The mimosa was perfect. Hard to mess that up though right? I asked if they had any stouts and if so, if they could provide a sample. I'm so happy I asked for a sample and didn't just order the "one" stout they had. The beer was flat. So disappointing! Overall, the place was okay. I'd more than likely return for their drink happy hour, but it's a hard pass outside of that.

I told him I had just spoken to someone yesterday, and he "you have wrong information, there's no way we can do reservations with this many people - you probably called the corporate office (it's the number listed on their website so that made no sense)" and was very dismissive of me and not apologetic whatsoever. It's totally understandable that reservations wouldn't be possible on a World Cup day. Seems like the staff are not all on the same page, or I was misled to just get my group into the bar (which has happened at other bars during the tournament so it's not unheard of). Had to take my three nieces elsewhere at the last minute and don't imagine I'll be returning after that experience.
