    Pastrami

My husband and I visited Katz's for lunch, the place is beautiful and clean. Our waitress was fenomenal, amazing service. That's why the 3 stars. We started with a spinach and artichoke dip, I would've liked it creamier and cheesier, also the portion was very small. We ordered the pastrami sandwich, and it was a big disappointment! The pastrami flavor was off, didn't taste smoky at all, it was briny and salty yes, but the flavor of the smoke it's what makes it pastrami, and it wasn't it! The bread was very stale, and the aioli tasted like a thousand island dressing. We had some onion rings as well, unfortunately we didn't enjoy those either :(

I had previously been to Katz's in New York (which was awesome) and was excited to try the Houston location. What a joke! I ordered the pastrami on rye "New York" style and it had hardly any meat on it. Absolutely pitiful.

Food was flavorful and the fries were hot just what I wanted. The service, while there was a bit of a wait, was quite pleasant with no mistakes. Not exactly a NYC deli vibe but I was good with that so the ambiance worked for me.

I've been here a couple times and it usually takes a while to bring out the food, probably around 25-30 minutes. Their food is OK and I have only tried their breakfast items. Waffles were nice and fluffy. The brisket tasted good on its own, but the hollandaise sauce didn't pair well with it. Servers are all very nice and attentive. They will refill coffee without being asked. It is a lively place and has a diner-style feel to it. The dessert is AMAZING. I was hesitant since the bread pudding had raisins but I would absolutely come here again just for that. The chocolate cake was good too, but the bread pudding really stood out. Easy to park, they have a parking lot attached.

Let's start with Jason, bar staff. Excellent attention. Courteous. Friendly. The Tomato Basil soup is good. My first time to have it. Has a little spice, but only enough to warm the throat. The soup was a bit thick and could have used a fresh grated parm on top. I would order again. The burger. Cooked perfectly. Had mushrooms on it that were not ordered, but easy to remove. A side of onion rings were perfect, as usual. $61 was painful. Still a great place to go late night.

We always try to stop by Katz when we are in Houston for the French dip and matzo ball soup. My husband should be a spokesperson for this sandwich. Service is always friendly here. Our food was served hot and didn't wait too long. I tried the pastrami Reuben. Flavor is there I just wish the meat was thicker instead of sliced deli meat. It's still a tasty sandwich.

Well.... The vibe was definitely giving NYC. No greeting from the hostess just straight in with "for two?" with zero personality. Other staff greeted us kindly as we walked toward our table. Our waiter was nice and attentive but the food felt rushed and the jalapeño poppers came out cold. Sandwich and artichoke dip were pretty good. I got Matzo ball soup to-go which tasted great. For Houston I think they could've represented themselves a bit better. Would I go back? Yes, but the staff should and could use more spark and to make sure food comes out hot.

Food was amazing , service was quick Chris was our server and he was very attentive! ! Great place to grab a quick bite after the bar !

    A serving of french fries

The food, atmosphere and service were all good but beware of hidden costs: -The waffle sandwich comes with home fries. We substituted home fries and asked for french fries instead. Instead of an upgrade price of $1-$2, the french fries were $4.99, which is the regular price. -They charge 2.85% of your bill to use your credit card. I understand that businesses have to make money but I would prefer full disclosure of any UNEXPECTED costs.

    Pan Seared Australian Sea Bass

Had a great experience at Katz! The food was delicious, and I ordered the Pan-Seared Australian Sea Bass--it was cooked perfectly, flavorful, fresh, and definitely worth trying. The overall experience was enjoyable, and I'd absolutely come back again. Highly recommend!

I was excited to try Katz after a referral to eat here . The food itself is very disappointing. I had chicken Parmesan sandwich . Soggy before I could eat it .. dripping of water sauce from marinara . I asked to send back . I got the country club . It's a sandwich so not much I can mess up . It was hard to though . Didn't know it came on a bagel and the bagel was a bit toasted so hard to bite . The homemade spinach dip is a LIE . Nothing homemade about it . It was super watery . The Alfredo pasta is wayyy over priced for taste . No seasoning. Very dry ... Kids pizza was undercooked . Cheese wasn't even melted yet . Service was though. Waiter and manager were respectful . Ambiance is family friendly nice and clean . Over this experience is a 2 out 5 . I honestly expected way more . The bill was $41 for Alfredo and a sandwich lol . I was pissed because it wasn't even worth $10 . Not sure what's the hype was but I didn't Find it OH AND HAIR WAS IN OUR FOOD . Enjoy the nice I tried to take .

Always good food! I do feel it's better to eat in, but this time I ordered delivery. Service was fast and my food was fresh. I ordered the Cobb salad. Their Cobb salad does not come with a boiled egg, just so you know. I did pay for extra avocado, because I love them. They offer a very nice variety of salad dressing. However, I wasn't feeling adventurous today.‍ The ambiance is casual and usually pretty busy. When ordering delivery you miss the temptation of the dessert counter. But even delivery is safe sometimes. The cheesecake still calls my name. However, their food is consistent as well as their service. I've not had a bad experience. So if you're looking for a down home kinda meal, Katz's will probably work for you.

Came here with family late one night as they're open 24 hours, I believe. The worst part was the wait with the limited seating but everything else from the atmosphere to the food was a 10/10. Our server was very patient and amicable with our party of 5 and the seemingly endless questions and preferences of each individual. I had a margarita flight and the Times Square sandwich and everything was delicious.

Valet is a little tough here because the parking lot is small, but they managed to do a good job all things considered so kudos to them. Food: the food is absolutely amazing. Their version of Jerk Chicken is very unique. Full of flavor and very tasty. Every bite was amazing. I will say, though if they were to make this on an open pit or a flame pit like Caribbean hot pot I think it would really add to the flavor but all in all the way they do it. It's very unique and it's very good. The bed of rice that is served on is phenomenal. I've never had rice that good. Also, I don't even eat vegetables, but the greens are amazing. The lamb chops were a little tough. My girl ordered them, medium rare, and it was tougher to cut them. So maybe it was just a bad day but they were OK. Everything else was amazing. The dessert was amazing as well. The service was top-notch! Our waitress was Carter and she did an amazing job. She was very perishable and had some great suggestions for us. We had a 7pm reservation for two, and it was in a corner with a small table and high bar stools. It was very hot. We were sweaty, and I am normally very cold in restaurants. I think they go a little overboard with saying that having food here is like traveling the world and breaks down barriers. I like the concept though. They could do more with the decor to give it more of a world traveler vibe. They definitely tried. They were playing American hip hop music, which does not fit the international theme. We got the three course dinner, which was $60 each plus tip. The food was good but did not feel like it was worth the price. For appetizers, we got the Mochiko Chicken and Crispy Pork Belly in Pasilla Sauce. We liked the chicken a lot, and it came with a sweet mango chutney and spicy mayo sauce. The pork belly was alright. It was pretty standard. For entrees, we got the Singaporean Shrimp Laksa and Nigerian Suya Skewers. I liked the noodles and curry, but the fish cakes were not that appetizing. The skin was much bigger than the meat inside, so it would weirdly inflate or deflate. The shrimp came with their tails on, so I got my hands slimy with curry. I did not personally try the beef, but I was informed it was a 3.85/5 and 4/5 with the sauce. The laksa was a decently sized portion, but the beef was quite the small portion with a few chunks and a bit of rice and tomatoes. For dessert, we enjoyed the Orange Torta Caprese and New Orleans Bourbon Bread Pudding. I was kind of confused why the chocolate cake was called torta. It was very small but nice and rich. The orange flavour was strong. The bread pudding, on the other hand, was very big. Although it wasn't pudding. There was a large piece of the bread in whole form. It was delicious. I did not taste bourbon.

It was refreshing to read them, I'm amazed by his relentless.I literally paid, went to the restroom to wash my hands. Sat at my table for maybe 5 minutes, before I could blink my food was being served! I had wings and waffles the chicken is crispy on the outside yet juicy when you bite in. I loved the ambiance not too loud you can have a good conversation. The decor is a story telling journey.
