The aesthetic of this restaurant was a vibe. Think cozy tavern meets elevated dining. It's low-lit, intimate, and moody, but still feels classy and refined. While we waited for our table, we grabbed drinks at the bar on the other side, which felt like the perfect way to start the evening. I don't play about service and every box you could check was executed very well here. The greeting on entry was very intentional and welcoming. The table was still pending so the hostess showed us the bar and welcomed us to wait there. The bartender greeted us with a smile. We started with wine and when the table was ready the hostess came to gather us. A server came to take our drinks over to the table for us and they transferred the tab for us. Y'all, I love not having to think for a moment lol, please guide me through an experience. Ok so we got escorted to the table and since it was for my birthday, the hostess said "I think I have the perfect birthday table for you." And she did, because we ended up with the cutest plush velvet (I think lol) booth overlooking the rest of the restaurant so we could really take in the atmosphere. Also, loved the fully open-concept kitchen. Being able to see all the action added to the experience and gave the space a lively, interactive feel. Ok back to service because Bludorn really is topping the game! Our server was sweet and was able to speak to all the menu options. He really steered me in the right direction on choices, not one miss! Occasionally other staff would pop by just to say hi and make sure we were doing well. And I just love a little attention when I'm out spending my money y'all so that sat well with me. Ok now let's talk about the main event, the food. To start they brought us their version of Parker Rolls with a garlic butter, excellent starter. For an app I got the Chilled Corn Soup with Blue Crab. It was really refreshing, the flavors were vibrant and that crab was fresh. They also did not skimp on the crab. I honestly hated that it had to come to an end. For my entrée I did the Blackened Red Snapper (removed the bacon). This dish had a black eyed pea and puree situation under the fish. It was delicious! The snapper was perfectly flaky and tender, and the flavor of the accompanying puree was reminiscent of my mom's black eyed pea stew with bold flavors. The only thing was that I wanted the portion to be a little bigger, just made me sad is all lol. We also ordered the creamed spinach because they said it's one of their best sides and y'all it was so rich and velvety, it practically melted in my mouth! Now since it was my bday they brought out a cute chocolate dessert and had Happy Birthday written on the plate. I love details, it's going to get me every time. My friend got the salmon and said that it was "ok, nothing super special." She did love her shrimp app though. When we were ready for the check they brought out a cute postcard and the check was on the back. I thought that was so different, like finding a way to make the check cute is a talent lol. Also, for our left overs, they brought us little gold number plates, which we took to the front when leaving to claim our to-go bags. I thought this was very sophisticated, keeping the table clear in case you want to continue with drinks and convo, etc. Overall, the ambiance was warm, intimate, elevated, and effortlessly a vibe. Definitely the kind of place that feels perfect for date night or a cute dinner out with the girls. Would I go again? Of course, and I wouldn't think twice. Very lovely restaurant. Came during restaurant weeks. They don't have a lot of seafood options on the regular menu so I went with the restaurants weeks menu. As expected in most restaurants they don't serve wild caught fish...the salmon was not my fave but it was well prepared. We ordered creamer spinach. The bread that come with the table which are Parker rolls excellent! They brought over celebratory wine as it was my friends birthday. I ordered the chocolate cake and a decaf coffee to go with very very good. Our waiter was good and helpful amd provided useful recommendations for the menu. Overall, a good special occasion restaurant in Houston (most tables we saw were 2-4 people). Satisfied with our meal, everything was pretty solid. Ordered: - Laissez Faire - King Ora Salmon Tartare - Exactly what I expected. Salmon was good and flavors complimented each other well. - Ravioli - We did the large order and it came with 8 ravioli. It gave me the vibes of Texas BBQ meets ravioli. I wish we had a few more fig pieces, I liked it better when the ravioli bite had a piece of fig with it. - Dry Aged Duck - We did a half order and I think that was the perfect amount without being too flavor fatigue (some pieces of the pieces were a bit fattier). I didn't eat it with the liver moouse since I felt like it was already pretty rich on its own. Had a decent time at the Michelin Recommended restaurant, Bludorn. Located in Montrose neighborhood, parking is valet for $8 or if you're lucky and want to drive around for street parking, you have that option too. Had reservations for 8PM, so I arrived 30 minutes early to just settle in with a drink. Sat at the bar for the first half and service was quick and friendly. They had specialty cocktails and I settled with their "Baby Breeze" gin based that was refreshing and went down so easily dangerous. Once my party arrived, we were seated at our table for 10 people. Service again was very attentive, but it seemed we were being rushed after finishing our items. While we appreciated the cleanliness, it did feel overbearing and my friend had silverware dropped on him. Their Spring 2026 menu is currently being served and for my meal, I kept it simple and went with medium rare 12oz Prime NY Strip that came with a twice baked potato and choice of sauce, I chose bordelaise. For the price range, I would've thought it be savory and warm, it arrived but was underwhelming. Had minimal flavor and felt the baked potato was better. And the Bludorn rolls were much welcomed and enjoyable with their fluffy and slightly sweet taste. My friend ordered the Baked Alaska, and while the experience (lighting it on fire) was enjoyable, biting into the the dessert caused for leaving the cake unfinished, it tasted burned because the fire wasn't put out in timely manner. Friend shared that their brunch experience was much better than our dinner experience and I am willing to give it another chance for that reason, but if this is a Michelin recommended place, I'd think it would be consistent in it's dishes being enjoyable every time. read more

Came here for my wife's birthday. Made the reservation using Resy/Opentable indicating occasion, and when we arrived, there was no indication from staff that they were aware. We weren't drinking so we did mocktails. Their selection is solid. I recommend the Million Dollar Baby and the New Madness. For the oysters, we did 2 of each: fried, smoked and roasted. I would low key just come back for oysters next time. They were that damn good. I was let down by the dry-aged burger. Even though I ordered the burger as medium, it was pretty dry. I've had better burgers from joints around town. Not worth $24. The Chicken entree was an absolute let down. I won't even elaborate. Some of our favorite entrees were the carrot soup and crab rice. Both were out of this world. For me the food was 3/5, service (aside from staff forgetting occasion of visit) 5/5, value 3/5. Also valet parking is $8. I'm still undecided if I'll be back. We had British as our waiter and he was phenomenal. We had a few allergies and he did a wonderful job at making sure everything worked out for us. We went for a special event in the private room upstairs and everything was perfection! The room was great for a private party. The service team was superb. They went above and beyond for any allergies and items I don't eat (shellfish and pork products)...the dessert I selected used a pork product in the gelatin which they knew when I was ordering so I selected the other option. When they brought out the dessert, they brought me what I originally wanted and said there is no pork in it. I was looking to see how mine was different from others and another service person came up to show me that the mousse inside of mine was a little different than the others because they were able to make it without the pork gelatin for me. If I could give this place a 10 Stars I would! Getting to the blue Dorn can be a little challenging, but as long as you know that there is valet parking you're okay. There's also limited free parking in the back. Walking in you walk into such a classy establishment. Everyone greets you with such warm comfort. The place is so nicely and simply decorated, not overdone. Then the stars of the show, show up! The menu and the drinks come very seamlessly. All of the food choices are very very exquisite. I hadn't known that they were open for a Sunday brunch, so we excitedly accepted the idea to celebrated my brother's birthday here. The valet upfront is the only lot around, so be prepared to hand over $8 for the pleasure. The interior is remarkably cozy and approachable for a Michelin honoree restaurant, there's a touchable and lived in feel to the walls and furniture that I appreciated as we visited with little ones on a cold Sunday morning. The food is layered and tasty in lots of subtle ways. Potato wedges we got for our 3yo were crispy enough even as we snacked on them waiting for our main course. Short rib ravioli soaked up all the smoky good flavor and was almost like brisket in that sense. Some foods were just good, the pancake, for as stunning as it looks, was a more stodgy than I'd want it to be. The steak n eggs had a few too many unrendered or untrimmed pieces of fat for a place like this. My main gripe was our service. Our waiter was splendid when he was around, but we just saw way too little of him. I would've had 2, 3, even 4 mixed drinks since we were celebrating. we just never got the chance to order them, our guy just wasn't interested in our large table and it kinda sucked. I'm hoping this was just an us thing, because the place wasn't all that busy and besides one little one, we are not nearly a rowdy bunch on our worst days. Updating my review for our first brunch visit ever. My wife decided she wanted to do a birthday brunch rather than a birthday dinner and picked Bludorn for the place. Our servers were "British" and D'Artagnan - Young men with interesting names and a heart for service. They made the experience feel very special. They had been on our service team on a previous visit and I'm glad I got their names this time. We started out with 6 oysters (3 smoked and 3 dressed) along with the steak tartare. The oysters were great with unique garnishes as always and the steak tartare was likely the best tartare I've ever had. Its a go to dish for sure. For our brunch entrees we enjoyed the Texas Wagyu Burger, potato wedges and the Shrimp and Grits. The consensus between my wife and I was that we enjoyed the Burger better as it leaned towards perfection on the cook as well as the accompaniments. Just a great burger. I really enjoyed he Shrimp and Grits, but my wife was not the biggest fan. She didn't care for the texture of the grits. But since I'm writing the review, no points off. The coup de grace of the meal as suggested by the GM Malik was the Blueberry Pancakes for a brunch dessert. 2 huge thick pancakes covered in whip cream and blueberry's with blueberry compote and syrup on the side. I was amazed at how good the texture was on the pancakes given how thick they were. Light and airy but with a crisp exterior. We could only eat one of the two pancakes so we packed the second one home. We were also given two complimentary "birthday" desserts that we absolutely did not need with all the other food, but they were excellent also. We really appreciated the gesture. We love the work Aaron Bludorn has been doing in Houston so we were excited to try Bludorn. They have a global seasonal menu with rotating dishes and you have to try on of their handcrafted cocktails. Ambiance: this is an upscale restaurant with an open concept that allows you to see in the kitchen. The restaurant can get pretty loud when it is full. We went on a Wednesday night and the restaurant was packed. Looked like a lot of business meetings and date nights. The restaurant is dimly lit and the wait staff is constantly running around. Service: the service here is excellent. The wait staff is attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu. The food we ordered was spaced out well so we didn't feel like we needed to rush through appetizers to get to our main entrees. The manager came to check in on our dinner which is always appreciated. Parking: there is a small parking lot in the back so you can try to find self parking back there. The restaurant uses half of that back parking lot for valet so we ended up parking on the street at the back of the restaurant which has free street parking. There is valet parking available in the front of the restaurant. Drinks: we ordered the Basil Gimlet and Strawberry Margarita. My girlfriend loved the Basil Gimlet but fair warning this cocktail is very strong. The strawberry margarita was good but nothing special. I would go for one of their other cocktails if you're considering the strawberry margarita. Food: We ordered a dozen oysters raw and the pierogis for appetizers. We had the Duke and Sunken Meadow oysters, 6 of each. Both of these oysters were delicious and would recommend if you have the chance to order these. The rabbit pierogis were easily our favorite dish of the night. The pierogis themselves were light and crispy and were covered in a salsa macha that was to die for. Definitely get these if they are still on the menu. For our mains we got the hangar steak and the gulf cioppino. The hangar steak was cooked to medium rare but it was in the salty side. The gulf cioppino had a rich seafood broth and had a lot of seafood in it with grouper, shrimp, and crab. We preferred the cioppino to the steak. We got a side of sautéed spinach which was a little too buttery for our liking. The twice baked potato that came with the hangar steak was very good and was our favorite side we had. Overall, Bludorn was a nice dinner spot for a date or special occasion. It was on the pricier side so save this spot for a special night. The food was good but not the best we've had. We enjoyed our experience from the service to the food and drinks but not every dish was a hit so come try out Bludorn for yourself and find something you like on their extensive menu! read more

We had the burger and ravioli and both were very good. The scallion biscuits are amazing! On another occasion, I had other dishes that I didnt like as much. Yea this is now our favorite place for special occasions (or any occasion to be honest). The restaurant was dark and intimate, the service was excellent and the food blew us away. We ordered a couple dishes and not a single miss. Steak tartare (5/5)- some of the best steak tartare I've ever had. Highly recommend ordering this dish, the sauce that is paired with it is seriously addicting. Chowder (5/5)- might be biased but we're big fans of New England clam chowders and this was right up our alley. The puff pastry that the chowder came in was incredible. Octopus (4/5)- the octopus was super tender on the inside yet sort of crispy on the outside. Spaghetti (5/5)- so so so good, probably one of the best uni pastas I've had. Ambience, staff, food, amazing. This was a great service. My friend brought me here for brunch for my bday. It wasn't overly packed so staff was attentive and worked as team. The Pork Shoulder Steak is so tender and juicy, matched with polenta and ratatouille. The Vacherin is sweet yet slightly tart with raspberry ice cream, lemon ricotta, and passion fruit (a dream of its own). The Chocolate Entremet is layered with devil's food cake and vanilla ice cream...simply indulgent. All of this with top notch service. I like the variety of wines and cocktails and being able to sit at the oyster bar where you'll be able to see some kitchen action. Wanted to see why people were raving about their blueberry Pancakes and I decided to drop in after church. I had a reservation but I was one hour early and asked them could I be seated early and the hostess gave several different options. Since I was alone, I decided to sit at the bar which turned out to be a good choice. After I placed my order for the pancakes and smoked bacon a staff member approached me with plate of biscuits and Jam and told me, they were complimentary. So, while I was waiting on the main course, I started nibbling on the biscuits and I found out that was a big mistake because they were extremely tasty. A few minutes later, the pancakes came out and I could not believe how big they were and I knew, it was no way I could eat them all. So, I took two to three bites just to taste and I couldn't believe how fluffy and tasty they were. After those few bites I asked for a to go container because I knew the leftover would be my meal for the next two days. Bludorn has been on my list for a while. I'm glad to have finally tried it. It's Michelin recommended so not quite a Bib Gourmand or star. I have been to Chef Aaron Bludorn's other restaurants Navy Blue and Perseid. I love the ambiance of Perseid, but what I tried was not that great. I'd have to go back for something else. Navy Blue is seafood forward, but I ordered pork belly and curly fries there instead of trying any fish, crab or lobster (just about the few seafood items I'll eat). IMO, Bluedorn is the better of the three. We made reservations ahead of time and was seated at a nice booth along the wall near the open kitchen where you can hear them call orders just like on TV. I perused the menu and reviews in advance and saw that the beef wellington was seasonal. It had some good reviews, so I wanted to try that and the Baked Alaska for dessert. I've had beef wellington at the Bellagio buffet in Vegas and a three star Michelin restaurant in Munich, so I had high hopes. I ordered a zero proof drink called Bissap which had hibiscus, mint, makrut leaf lime oleo-saccharum, and hop soda. I didn't see or taste any mint, but it was still good. I like anything hibiscus. The complimentary Parker House rolls with chive butter was perfect to start with. The beef wellington had a nice, flaky pastry, and the meat itself was cut about 1-1.5 in. thick. It was paired nicely with wild mushroom, black truffle, pomme purée, and sauce périgourdine which was a dark gravy. The mushrooms had a nice flavor. On top of the pomme purée was additional creamed spinach. I ate half the entree since it was so filling. I thought the meat was a little too medium rare for me. Without the pastry and sauce, the meat didn't really have flavor. I got to try the side of caraflex cabbage and salmon with Carolina rice and sauce veracruz. I avoided the olives because I don't eat them. I thought the salmon was cooked well and flaky. It was tasty with the rice and sauce. The caraflex cabbage was so good. It was nicely roasted with some caramelization. It was slightly sweet and had a nice white sauce on top. The Baked Alaska was ok. Could be better. It was a cool, theatrical presentation, but I couldn't really taste the cookie butter flavor in the speculoos ice cream, and I've had some good ones at Flower and Cream. The graham cracker crust at the bottom was also not buttery and crumbly. It was hard, probably because the dessert is meant to be partially frozen. The graham cracker was also pure alcohol which made it all taste bitter. It tasted like a shot in a small bite of graham cracker. It was disgusting. The alcohol clearly did not burn off when flambéd. It was my first time trying this dessert, and I was disappointed. I ate the meringue and ice cream but avoided the graham cracker. Even the pretty-looking chocolate twills were bitter, which must've been dark chocolate. The other dessert, pavlova, was more light and refreshing. It had a pear lychee mousse, green tea, and some slices of blood orange. The ambiance was nice for the holidays with simple decor of pine cones and a beautiful garland along the staircase. The food didn't blow me away, but the service from our server British was great. The menu changes seasonally, so I would try this restaurant again. read more

Been here a couple times for business dinners. Flavors are literally beautiful, it's like art. Even the stuff that sounds simple is impeccable. The cook on everything is perfect, the textures and flavors make you want to eat slow and savor. Service is exceptional and regardless of occasion it fits the bill. You won't be disappointed, it's not cheap so if you are on a budget take a look at the menu in advance and see what you might want to share. My first visit to Bludorn, and definitely not my last. The restaurant is dimly lit, which creates a warm ambience. The restaurant is big, and has a small bar area. My family started our dinner with the bluefin tuna, roasted oysters, and smoked oysters. The tuna appetizer was slightly tart, which opened up our appetites. However, we thought the oysters could be more flavorful. We had a variety of dishes - Black Truffle Risotto, Short Rib Ravioli, Farro Verde Risotto with add on chicken, and Hanger Steak. The black truffle was shaved in front of us, which we wowed. All the entrees were cooked perfectly, and we thoroughly enjoyed them. We ended our meal with a Baked Alaska, and an assortment of ice cream. The Baked Alaska's preparation was cool, and we loved the dessert. We received great service today. All the staff were well trained, and we were impressed by the service standard. Valet parking is $8. Self-parking is available at the back of the restaurant, or street parking across the restaurant is available too. read more

I first went to Bludorn twice in 2023. I wasn't blown away. I decided to give them another try in 2025 and let's just say I've worked my way up to coming almost once a week. First, the service is spectacular. Hayden remembers every single detail (Pittsburg cook on steak, Dijon mustard on side, half wedges to go, etc. - after your FIRST order! You don't have to explain yourself again and again like other places. Also if I ask a question he's not sure of, he will verify with the kitchen beforehand. Second, the food. Their wedges are the best I've ever had. Ever. Period. Dip them in their homemade hot sauce and ketchup or the aforementioned Dijon. Their chicken dishes are surprisingly my favorite. The current one is souv vided and seared for a crisp abed quinoa and a piquin sauce. Another great option with the fries is the burger or filet. I get my burger bunless because the fries are indulgent enough. The ambiance is peak aesthetic but I prefer the bar as a solo diner. However, you can't go wrong in the dining or patio. I really can't find a complaint about this place, but it all goes back to the service. Well done Bludorn! read more

I went here for the Blu Bayou Dinner Series featuring Chef Rogelio Garcia. This was my first time at Bludorn and the service was great. Chef Aaron Bludorn stopped by to check in on us as well. All I can say is wow! My fiancé surprised me with a birthday dinner at Bludorn, and from start to finish, the evening was handled with such care, elegance, and professionalism. Every detail was seamless, and the entire staff (from our waitress to the thoughtful hosts) made the experience truly stand out. We dined on a Tuesday evening, and the atmosphere struck a perfect balance of bustling and lively, yet still calm and refined. The space felt warm and elevated. We began with cocktails! A classic martini for him and the Basil Gimlet for me. That gimlet was easily one of the best cocktails I've ever had. The gin was balanced beautifully with a dry, herbal finish from the basil and just the right amount of citrus. I honestly can't wait to go back just for that drink. To start, we shared the crab bisque, which the kitchen kindly split into two bowls for us. The bisque was deeply flavorful and rich, and we'd both order it again without hesitation. We also tried the squash blossom, which was fried perfectly and fun to taste, though next time we may opt for something new. For entrées, we had the fresh pasta and the red snapper--both beautifully executed. Our server offered small pours of a few white wines to help us choose a pairing, which made the meal feel even more personal. We ended with the zeppole which were fried doughnuts that were unlike any I've had before. They were light, tender, and slightly crisp with a texture that was just incredible. And to top it all off, the team surprised us with a birthday dessert and a candle, which was such a thoughtful gesture. Bludorn exceeded expectations from top to bottom. Came here last Friday night. I could've sworn I had made a reservation, but couldn't find a confirmation email. Luckily, I checked Resy and snagged a 7:30 pm spot which was super lucky considering how popular and packed this place usually is. Funny enough, my boyfriend had tried to call and was told they were fully booked, even though there were several time slots available online. Not sure what was up with that. When we arrived, we were seated right away. Our server brought water and gave us a quick overview of the menu. We started with one of each oyster and the This Must Be The Place cocktail. The drink was amazing! Highly recommend if you're into tequila. The raw oysters were super fresh, and the fried and roasted ones were also great. The smoked oysters weren't for us, but I'm still glad we gave them a try. We also had the bluefin tuna to start. So fresh and tender it melted in your mouth. It came with a tiny bit of avocado cream that paired really well For entrees, we shared the smoked short rib ravioli in like a fig sauce and with blue cheese. WOW. Easily the best dish of the night. The short rib was so flavorful, and the smoky richness blended perfectly with the sauce. We also ordered the 8 oz sirloin, which came with a twice-baked potato and a side of creamed spinach. The steak was cooked and seasoned to perfection! Honestly one of the best I've had. The potato was fully loaded and plated beautifully. We also ordered a side of cremed spinach and they absolutely nailed it! Rich, creamy, and just a great complement to the steak. All in, our bill was around $210. We left stuffed and impressed by the food. A few other notes: valet is offered, but we found plenty of street parking around 7:30. The space is gorgeous! Open concept with a clear view into the kitchen which I love. Now, the one downside: the service. It just didn't stand out. The hosts didn't feel especially welcoming, and while our server was timely and got the job done, it felt bare minimum. No drink follow-up, no menu recommendations, nothing to elevate the experience. I'm probably more critical here since I've worked in the industry, but at this price point I expect better. Overall, the food lived up to the hype and then some. Not sure yet if I'll be back, but it's definitely a place that deserves the buzz at least for the food. read more

Not only is the vibe great for a nice celebration dinner, t service is great, the server is attentive and gave us new plates after each dish. The food here is pretty good and highly recommend trying their oysters (they have 4 different kinds) and the ravioli. The parking here looks quite limited but luckily we got here before they opened and was able to park. Not sure if it would be difficult to find parking if we go later in the evening. read more

Food: - cocktail shrimp: light and super fresh. A great start to a fantastic meal. The sauce is pipetted on shrimp so it's a perfect bite! - pierogi: I was nervous to try the rabbit as I have never had rabbit before but omg it was incredible. The creamy sauce, the exterior crunch, and the tasty filling. Highly recommend. - cioppino: a lighter dinner option. The tomato based broth is very flavorful and the crusted bread for dipping was a nice touch. The seafood was perfectly cooked. Grouper was delicious and the crab was so flaky and yum. If you want a spicier kick, ask for their hot sauce. It adds another layer of heat. - red snapper: omg so good. The fish was fantastic. The rice was cooked perfectly. The olive and salsa balanced the dish with a nice acid component. Def recommend! - potato wedges: my fav in the city. Def a must. If you get nothing else, this is necessary. - bouche de Noel: perfection. No notes. We debated to order this or the baked Alaska but we have had that before and this is seasonal so we chose this. So glad we did! Def get it if it's there!! Ambiance: - loved the Christmas lights! It was the perfect combo of romantic and comfortable. - we sat closer to the kitchen area and I loved it. It's not loud. Yes, you can hear the team cooking and coordinating but i loved it. It was fascinating to see. Service: - 10/10 - Vanessa was our server and she was very on top of things. When I told her I don't eat pork, she immediately was like what about gelatin? She knew what to ask and what to anticipate. She was always available but not over the top. Water was constantly filled. Tables were always clean. Food came out in a timely manner. Everything was incredible. I was celebrating an important milestone and they made me feel so special. Everything at Bludorn was amazing. Sunday brunch. From the valet to the hostess the drink server and our waiter everyone was very hospitable and pleasant. I saw a review on tick tock that said they have some of the best pancakes in the city and they did not lie. I got the blueberry and I want you to know that they were amazing and I'm not even a pancake lover!! We also got the roasted oysters that are similar to oysters Rockefeller style - they were SO good. I also got the steak and eggs with chimichurri sauce. The steak was good however the portion size was smaller than I would have liked especially at that price point.. Lastly, the bacon is a MUST!!!!
