    Short Rib Ravioli

Overall, a good special occasion restaurant in Houston (most tables we saw were 2-4 people). Satisfied with our meal, everything was pretty solid. Ordered: - Laissez Faire - King Ora Salmon Tartare - Exactly what I expected. Salmon was good and flavors complimented each other well. - Ravioli - We did the large order and it came with 8 ravioli. It gave me the vibes of Texas BBQ meets ravioli. I wish we had a few more fig pieces, I liked it better when the ravioli bite had a piece of fig with it. - Dry Aged Duck - We did a half order and I think that was the perfect amount without being too flavor fatigue (some pieces of the pieces were a bit fattier). I didn't eat it with the liver moouse since I felt like it was already pretty rich on its own. I did like the foie gras jus with the duck. - Roasted Brassicas - The broccolini and cauliflower helps bring a little bit of freshness between each bite to the duck. We were too fully so we didn't order an actual dessert but definitely interested in trying the baked alaska.

Went for Brunch- Sat outside in the blistering heat. Family of four, didnt want to wait , just wanted to eat! Got here on a sunny July day- about 11 am. Patio has some fans blowing the hot air around. Rando mud dauber hornets flying around. Seated and waited on by Samuel- super nice guy. Ordered pancakes , steak and eggs and the crabcakes. Steak and eggs- was 8/10 Good flavor. Medium. But meat was a tad chewy Crabcakes- great flavour, light, delicious 9/10 Pancakes- fluffy, light, w good texture 9/10 Service 10/10. Sam was the man Helpful, quick, resourceful.

Had a decent time at the Michelin Recommended restaurant, Bludorn. Located in Montrose neighborhood, parking is valet for $8 or if you're lucky and want to drive around for street parking, you have that option too. Had reservations for 8PM, so I arrived 30 minutes early to just settle in with a drink. Sat at the bar for the first half and service was quick and friendly. They had specialty cocktails and I settled with their "Baby Breeze" gin based that was refreshing and went down so easily dangerous. Once my party arrived, we were seated at our table for 10 people. Service again was very attentive, but it seemed we were being rushed after finishing our items. While we appreciated the cleanliness, it did feel overbearing and my friend had silverware dropped on him. Their Spring 2026 menu is currently being served and for my meal, I kept it simple and went with medium rare 12oz Prime NY Strip that came with a twice baked potato and choice of sauce, I chose bordelaise. For the price range, I would've thought it be savory and warm, it arrived but was underwhelming. Had minimal flavor and felt the baked potato was better. And the Bludorn rolls were much welcomed and enjoyable with their fluffy and slightly sweet taste. My friend ordered the Baked Alaska, and while the experience (lighting it on fire) was enjoyable, biting into the the dessert caused for leaving the cake unfinished, it tasted burned because the fire wasn't put out in timely manner. Friend shared that their brunch experience was much better than our dinner experience and I am willing to give it another chance for that reason, but if this is a Michelin recommended place, I'd think it would be consistent in it's dishes being enjoyable every time.

Came here for my wife's birthday. Made the reservation using Resy/Opentable indicating occasion, and when we arrived, there was no indication from staff that they were aware. We weren't drinking so we did mocktails. Their selection is solid. I recommend the Million Dollar Baby and the New Madness. For the oysters, we did 2 of each: fried, smoked and roasted. I would low key just come back for oysters next time. They were that damn good. I was let down by the dry-aged burger. Even though I ordered the burger as medium, it was pretty dry. I've had better burgers from joints around town. Not worth $24. The Chicken entree was an absolute let down. I won't even elaborate. Some of our favorite entrees were the carrot soup and crab rice. Both were out of this world. For me the food was 3/5, service (aside from staff forgetting occasion of visit) 5/5, value 3/5. Also valet parking is $8. I'm still undecided if I'll be back. Need to recover from spending $275 on a single dinner. Ouch.

Lovveeee anything Bludorn. Chose to revisit Bludorn for the start of my bday weekend and it did not disappoint. Service - top notch. Best service in Houston hands down. Food - you really can't go wrong with anything you order here. This time the highlights were definitely the duck and the rice. I could have eaten the rice as a meal and been very happy. Drinks - wine and cocktails 10/10 Parking - you might get lucky w self parking in the back of the restaurant otherwise it's valet for $8 right now. Make a reservation and wear something nice. Definitely a must try in Houston for an upscale experience.

We had British as our waiter and he was phenomenal. We had a few allergies and he did a wonderful job at making sure everything worked out for us. It was incredibly busy but the restaurant was beautiful. A bit crowded because booths were shared across walls, but it wasn't much of a problem. We loved our food, my friends got the steaks and they were cooked perfectly. The dry-aged duck was incredibly sweet and flavorful with the rice. Would definitely come again :)

Came here for brunch and service was friendly and on point. I didn't have a reservation and they were able to accommodate with bar seating with full access to menu. Scallion Cheddar biscuits- savory buttery perfection. Would order again 110% Oysters- very fresh. Smoked was amazing. Octopus- another show stopper with tender well charred octopus bites. They were also able to slice it for easier sharing. Steak and Eggs- wasn't amazed but a staple classic. Potatoes are covered in a sauce reminiscent of papas bravas dish. blueberry pancakes- very thick and huge portion. Wasn't bad but wasn't amazing. Satisfied my sweet craving

I decided to try somewhere new on my foodie list for an early 30th birthday with my family and Bludorn was the perfect pick! Our waiter Dylan was phenomenal!! We began the night with a complimentary celebratory champagne toast. We each ordered cocktails. I had the Stirred Strawberry Margarita! We also ended the night with Grasshoppers and Carajillos. The menu we had is their Spring 2026 menu. We began with oysters and ordered them all types of ways. I ordered the Short Rib Ravioli. My mom ordered the Crab Rice. My dad ordered the Dry-Aged Duck. My husband ordered the Hanger Steak with a twice baked potato. The sides we ordered were Creamed Spinach and Crispy Potato Wedges. For dessert we ordered the Baked Alaska with carrot cake ice cream and cream cheese, it was amazing! I can't wait to go back! The attention to detail is amazing! The restaurant can be a little loud when it's super busy so keep that in mind if you're looking for something a little quieter. The building itself is really cute inside! Thank you for everything Bludorn!

We went for a special event in the private room upstairs and everything was perfection! The room was great for a private party. The service team was superb. They went above and beyond for any allergies and items I don't eat (shellfish and pork products)...the dessert I selected used a pork product in the gelatin which they knew when I was ordering so I selected the other option. When they brought out the dessert, they brought me what I originally wanted and said there is no pork in it. I was looking to see how mine was different from others and another service person came up to show me that the mousse inside of mine was a little different than the others because they were able to make it without the pork gelatin for me. This level of service is so rare. Thank you!!!

This time we sat in the patio Reservation was at 6 and we were seated immediately Service was surpurb All our dishes were delicious Tuna crude was amazing Squash blossoms are a must!! They didn't have raspberry for my clover club but offered me other options I was very pleased Was offered off menu dessert that was unique and delicious. Patio ambiance was chill compared to the inside. Looking forward to our next visit!!

If I could give this place a 10 Stars I would! Getting to the blue Dorn can be a little challenging, but as long as you know that there is valet parking you're okay. There's also limited free parking in the back. Walking in you walk into such a classy establishment. Everyone greets you with such warm comfort. The place is so nicely and simply decorated, not overdone. Then the stars of the show, show up! The menu and the drinks come very seamlessly. All of the food choices are very very exquisite. I would highly recommend the caviar service and oysters. The roasted oysters with the crunchy shallots are absolutely mind-blowingly good. And I don't like cooked oysters. Every single dish that we tried was so perfectly paired. It took me awhile to write this review because I could not put into words how fabulous the service was from Russell and Dylan. The food was great the Ambiance was great. I cannot wait to go back and try their brunch!!

I hadn't known that they were open for a Sunday brunch, so we excitedly accepted the idea to celebrated my brother's birthday here. The valet upfront is the only lot around, so be prepared to hand over $8 for the pleasure. The interior is remarkably cozy and approachable for a Michelin honoree restaurant, there's a touchable and lived in feel to the walls and furniture that I appreciated as we visited with little ones on a cold Sunday morning. The food is layered and tasty in lots of subtle ways. Potato wedges we got for our 3yo were crispy enough even as we snacked on them waiting for our main course. Short rib ravioli soaked up all the smoky good flavor and was almost like brisket in that sense. Some foods were just good, the pancake, for as stunning as it looks, was a more stodgy than I'd want it to be. The steak n eggs had a few too many unrendered or untrimmed pieces of fat for a place like this. My main gripe was our service. Our waiter was splendid when he was around, but we just saw way too little of him. I would've had 2, 3, even 4 mixed drinks since we were celebrating. we just never got the chance to order them, our guy just wasn't interested in our large table and it kinda sucked. I'm hoping this was just an us thing, because the place wasn't all that busy and besides one little one, we are not nearly a rowdy bunch on our worst days. I'd still come back for a swing at dinner, but I'm not nearly as motivated to do so after this initial visit unfortunately.

Came here for my birthday and they did not disappoint! The service is white table cloth. The mood is dimly lit fine dinning. Attire ranges from dressy casual to dressy. I have no complaints about the dishes I had. No parking, but valet available.

    Ask the Community - Bludorn

    Are jeans appropriate to wear?

    Yes

    Is there a dress code?

Nicer smart casual. I didn't see them turn guys away for not having a jacket, but I wouldn't just show up in a tshirt and jeans.

What part of Houston is this Bludorn?

    Do most men wear suit/jacket?

    Not all men, but most

Can you sit at the bar without a reservation?

Yes, but sometimes they do have bad reservations and it’s first come, first serve. It’s usually pretty busy during evenings/weekends. They do have standing room though.

    What is your dress code?

    Formal

Can you order dinner items during brunch hour's?

You cannot order dinner during brunch! I tried, no uni pasta for brunch! Brunch only menu

    Is this place kid friendly?

We took our 6 yr old for Brunch he liked the pancakes and I saw more kids so I think brunch is ok for them.

    Do they allow walk-ins?

Yes, we walked in and were seated with no issues

Can we order the truffle spaghetti even if it's not on the menu currently?

Well if truffle is NOT in season, that dish is just simply spaghetti right? Unlike others, Bludorn serve fresh shaved truffle, not truffle oil. With that said, you can't order something that the truffle is not in season.…

Vegetarian friendly? One review says yes, others say no...

It is vegan/vegetarian friendly. Simply alert the restaurant before hand of your dietary preferences and they will ensure you are taken care of.…

I see they have a patio dining option. About how many tables can they seat in this area?

I would say about 10-12 tables.

What is the price range like, I didn't see prices on their menu?

I agree $$$. There's a menu with prices in the photo section to give you an idea.

    Any happy hour?

    No happy hour

Do they have high chairs for a toddler?

    Call them

Are there any gluten free options?

I believe several of the appetizers, desserts, and seafood options are gluten-free.

For appetizers, I highly recommend the yellowtail sashimi. I'm sorry I didn't post a picture - I was SO hungry. I literally ate it like candy. Speaking of candy, it has Pop Rocks on top of the yellowtail. See how I tied that in, kids? My friends (also Yelp Elite) and I decided to do everything family-style. Since it's Restaurant Week (really Restaurant Month), we ordered a bunch of appetizers. The blue crab hush puppies were my second favorite. I wasn't a huge fan of the heirloom tomato because the wheat bread was way too thick for my liking. I would have preferred sourdough. But let's be honest - the reason I come here is for the mac & cheese and steak. I got the steak flight, which is about $110, but it's worth every penny. The Wagyu literally cuts like butter. The sides are HUGE and easily shareable with four people, so keep that in mind when ordering. Unfortunately, my friend did not enjoy his swordfish. His exact words were, "It tastes like dried chicken." My wife ordered the salad and absolutely loved it. Once again, the portion was enormous. If I'm judging this place solely on the wine, steaks, sides, and atmosphere, it's an easy five stars. You just have to know what to order. I was definitely disappointed to hear about the fish, but everything else keeps bringing me back.

He was incredibly friendly and working hard, but because he seemed to be juggling so much on his own, service was on the slower side. For the appetizer, we ordered the Crispy Fried Oysters & Brussels, and I got the redfish for my entrée. The Brussels sprouts were flash-fried perfectly, and I loved the sweetness of the chili honey glaze. The oysters had a nice crispy coating, but I found them to be a little bland. The redfish, though, was absolutely the star of the meal. I cleaned my plate. It was served with Hoppin' John and a lemon butter sauce. I had never heard of Hoppin' John before, but it's essentially a Southern rice-and-bean dish, and paired with that lemon butter, it was so flavorful. It complemented the fish perfectly.
