I was hoping for half a sandwich and soup. But it's specified times which I fill is not customer friendly. I ended up ordering the bowl of matzo ball soup. I was disappointed! Way too salty and not enough broth for the abundance of noodles - plus the matzo balls were heavy instead of light as I'm used too. Not sure I'll comeback when I visit Houston again.

Stopped in on the way to work last minute to grab a quick bite. Presently surprised by the vast selection of items. We were quickly served drinks and I decided to order the Texas Brisket Benedict and a fruit plate. In no time out food was served. Food was fantastic and we even got a visit from the general manager to ensure we were satisfied with the service and the quality of food. Fantastic place that will definitely be visited again. Give it a shot!

3.5 The food was good, I had a sandwich with a side of fries, everyone else got breakfast but they had the avocado toast which was good, salmon with eggs and a scramble. The food is a bit on the higher end but it's good. The waitress was sweet. The only reason I didn't put 4 stars was because the wait was extremely long. There was literally one other table there and after ordering, the food took about 20 minutes to come out. I guess that could be a sign that it was fresh but at the same time, the waitress didn't come around to check on us much during that time. It was an awkward wait. The inside decor was cute and had a nice diner feel. Regardless, I'd probably come back, good variety of stuff to try.

GREAT Customer Service is the way to my heart :-) They have customer service down packed! We were cheerfully greeted by the manager and several staff members upon entry. Our waiter quickly approached our table and took our drink order. James was attentive and prompt throughout the entire time we were there. Several other staff members checked on us as well! Thanks for caring! It does not go unnoticed! I've been here several times as you can see lol. However my meal today hit the spot!! Scrambled eggs with Lox & Onions, I added capers, tomatoes and cream cheese. DELISH!!! The potato pancakes were crispy on the outside but moist on the inside, which made for the perfect bite!! Restaurant was clean including the bathroom. Tables were cleared in a timely manner as well. No complaints! :-)

We followed in a family leaving the restaurant and the hostess turned her back on us and shut the door, then went to their table at the front and started cleaning it as we waited at the hostess station. A server and manager came over saying she'd be with us soon. NP- a little odd, as it was pretty obvious she'd seen us but nbd, we'd really wanted to try this place after living here so long. She didn't get any friendlier. Server came out right away, we ordered our drinks and food quick since we hadn't eaten yet for the day and it was past noon. I e got our app, then the main course before he returned and we needed refills and a change of drinks. Bottom line- food was good, service terrible. The manager came over in between while we needed drinks thinking we'd say everything was great but we mentioned we needed drinks with our meal. Great interior!

Came in for a pastrami sandwich take out. Food is good. But billing practices are just crapola. Which is why I'm only giving it 2 stars. They surcharge credit cards on take out as well as dine in. So I decided to pay in cash this time. Apparently there's an automatic gratuity on all "to go" orders. Fine but I wish they'd be more transparent about it because when I ordered there weren't any menus at the to go kiosk which is where I suspect they add the small print. And there are no signs about the automatic gratuity either at the to-go kiosk. To add to the lack of transparency, when I asked about the total amount that they said I would owe for the sandwich, I asked what that total includes, like does it include the credit card charge for example. They said it's only for the sandwich and tax. They didn't mention the automatic take out gratuity which was also on the bill I received, but only after I paid it. It's the same deal when you pay at the table. I asked what the subtotal was and they didn't show me. Asked again, didn't show me. So it was hard for me to determine if their calculation of the tip includes tip on the tax. The other thing is that they don't give any change in coins when paying by cash. Is that even legal? No discussion had. They just either assume you don't want it or just don't give it. So I guess that's like an additional mandatory tip on top of the other mandatory tip. They were actually struggling to scrounge up enough bills to give me back as change as it stood. So apparently coins were just out of the question. I'm guessing most people don't pay in cash but instead just bite the bullet and pay their pass through credit card surcharge. Frustrating for the rest of us trying to pinch pennies. It took 25 minutes to get our sandwich. It was just pastrami meat on untoasted rye. No condiments or anything. About as simple as could be. Yet 25 minutes. I get they're busy but still. I used to frequent Katz's every Saturday. But I just can't see myself coming back again. Lots of deli places in town that don't do this kind of stuff.

We got in late to the woodlands area and all the restaurants except this one were closed. The service was very friendly as we placed a to go order so we could just eat quickly in our hotel and go to bed. The food came out quickly and the order was correct. I really did not find my food to be very good at all. I ordered jalapeño poppers and potato skins. Neither one tasted freshly made in any way. Almost seemed as if they were made in the morning for the day and then warmed up in a microwave when I ordered late at night. Very disappointed in my food!

Its been a while that we haven't been on this location, the food is still good especially the matzo ball soup and Reuben sandwich. The people are still friendly. The only complaint i gave is our server is always missing. I saw a few people standing around and just talking. The food is still good thats why i still recommending it.

I've been eating here for about 14 years and over the years this place keeps getting better. Their tasty food and friendly service is consistent. I've never had a problem with anything I've ever ordered. I really enjoy the fact that they're open 24/7. When hungry after midnight, it's reliable for what ever is desired.

I ordered this to our hotel: The driver had to wait for my order a long time. The food quality? My Chicken and Waffles were mid (soggy waffle) and the Chilaquiles? They didn't have the crème pictured and they didn't have the salsa and the chilaquiles were $18! Btw it was just chips, no refried beans: In this economy?? Uber Eats refunded $2 for the missing sauces. I deleted my Uber account.

Ambiance: Upscale diner that's open 24/7 and perfect for curbing literally any craving at any time of the day! What I like about Katz's is that they've put a "fancy" twist on a classic diner. It's a nice ambiance & in my experience always quite clean. The menu is large & expansive - with options for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or desserts/snacks. My husband works a later evening shift so I love that Katz's is an option for a late night date night! It's also the perfect post-evening spot for a quick bite or curing a hangover. Great breakfast spot for families, fun place for hanging with friends, and also ideal for dining alone. Parking onsite. Lots of seating options. Busier at certain times of the day. A bit pricey for diner food but I feel that the quality and ambiance is worth it! Highly recommend the succotash veggies!

    Chilaquiles

Holy Mary!!! Before this trip to Katz's, I didn't know you could pair Holy with a Bloody Mary...but here you can!!! Service & Food are both excellent. This is my second time here. Chilaquiles - YES - add beef fajita This time with my hubs I got the chilaquiles-add beef fajita!!! I did my eggs poached. Perfect!!! Avocado toast - Yes - spicy if you can handle it. Fresh sliced jalapeño on top. Better yet, get both and mix them together. Perfect combo to share. Large portions. The fresh fruit with light yogurt sauce and nut crumbles was also very nice. Phil was our server. Detail oriented and friendly. He was on it. Both managers checked on us. Drew and other lady were very pleasant and professional. Side note - OPEN 24 HOURS!!! I discovered this place when my mom had emergency surgery at a near by hospital. I was starving in the middle of the night. The food was spectacular with a meat stuffed cabbage and some kind of meatball soup. Both were so darn good!! So much flavor!!!

What a freaking ripoff. Sunday 11-1-25. 4:45 pm-5:45 pm. Not more than 3 tables occupied at once. Ordered an $18 sandwich to split with spouse. Took 30 minutes. Spouse ordered drink when she placed order. Had to reorder when food arrived and asked for extra plate. Manager came by wanting to know how everything was. I mentioned above and mentioned I thought the sandwich could at least have come with chips. Oh no, everything is ala cart. What a lousy experience. Never going back. Dirty floors.

I tasted the latte before and after because someone else brought it out but listen...that syrup changed the whole personality of the drank!. It went from "oh ok"' to "bihhhh, I'll be back for you." I grabbed a side of pancakes and bacon because I asked my honest waitress about a dish and she quickly gave me her honest opinion which I took. The basic dish was nothing groundbreaking, but also nothing tragic. Honestly, if someone messed up pancakes and bacon, I'd have to call the authorities. With tax and tip, I walked out a little over $20 lighter. These days, that's basically the going rate for breathing in a restaurant, so I wasn't shocked. The kids had orange juice that tasted like it had been freshly squeezed right at the table. For breakfast, my wife chose the Sunshine Burrito, and I had the bacon, egg, and cheese croissant (with extra chipotle mayo on the side). The kids shared the blueberry pancakes with a side of bacon. My wife mentioned the burrito could have used a bit more seasoning, but overall the food was a solid 9/10. I especially loved my croissant, and the kids were big fans of the pancakes. Service is friendly and pool restaurant good. The country club is in walking distance if you want golf or tennis. There are several pools. For families, the pool is THE activity and truly, the only activity. The woodlands lake is a 5 min drive so the trolly and pedal boats entertained us! It was fun. The breakfast was delicious. What was a disappointment: - total of 1 lifeguard for the entire pool area, which included three pools and a lazy river with a wave area. There is "swim at your own risk" signage, but that is NOT a family friendly environment. - there is a 1x/ day arts and crafts that you have to pay extra to do. - the other staff-led activities were bingo, movie by the pool, and karaoke. The staff was not energetic, smiling, or enthusiastic with the exception of the activities manager who led the water melon eating contest. - it rained for one of the afternoons so we all went into the conference center for games. Wow was that disappointing. The staff was sitting around at a table, no music, no explanation of the table games, not interacting with the guests. When asked they said "you can play whichever game you want, it's self service." My husband and I used our phones to at least put on music, we facilitated a game of tag, and several families had to escalate to the manager to setup the karaoke and popcorn machine because the staff in the room was literally sitting around sticking to a rigid schedule and telling us they can't set anything up until a certain time. Of course the manager said that is absolutely not true. - the staff didn't know how to work the projector for karaoke so the kids just used a laptop that the staff member had sitting on her lap. Minimal interaction etc. The events team staff (minus the supervisor) was really subpar. Easily made for a 2 rating for sure. If you want a true family getaway, the JW Marriott in San Antonio is far superior. Photo with my son and one of the disengaged staff members. I'll also say that, again, for this luxury price, the staff need branded sweaters not oversized personal apparel.

[EDIT only to correct to "Postino"]…read more I use the one-stars sparingly, I really do. This has nothing to do with the food, as we never got that far in the course of my miserable experience at this location (not sure if it's a chain or not). Walked into a relatively quiet restaurant somewhat later in the evening after strolling a bit in the summer Houston heat around the Woodlands. A couple of people recommended Postino. The issue arose when I asked for a possible menu modification. Specifically, I was trying to avoid GOAT CHEESE on the meatball dish I had my eyes on (which otherwise looked pretty tempting). The server indicated that they probably couldn't do it but I nevertheless requested this... a couple of minutes later the server returned with the bad news. Apparently, it simply had to be served as-is, according to the menu. This in itself wouldn't have got me to the point of writing this review. However, I, incredulous, was kind of laughing (you have to laugh) and said something like "so I can only order exactly what's on the menu, and the kitchen can't do anything different?" (slight paraphrasing, perhaps). There wasn't much further conversation with the server but within about 30 seconds of this exchange, a "manager" stormed over to the table and borderline-abusively shouted "is there a problem?!". This "mini-manager" as I will refer to her, proceeded to inform me that they could NOT accommodate changes because it would "violate the integrity of the restaurant" ... I of course I also found a bit humorous, and in this state inquired further about what sense it made to be so obnoxiously strict for someone just trying to grab a quick bite about 30 minutes before closing. I'm sensitive to the work involved in running restaurants and serving obnoxious customers, but I was NOT rude, obnoxious, or difficult. Just blown away by this treatment. I was then informed by the mini-manager that she was from LONDON which I assume meant I should accept that her cosmopolitan background and (I assume vast and high-level culinary experience) meant that I should shut my trap and stop being so picky. At this point I was compelled to mention that I, too, grew up overseas and was very surprised at this complete lack of flexibility. Within another 30 seconds or so of this dialogue, the mini-manager tipped the menu over on the table and abruptly shouted, "you know what, I'm refusing you service!" That made it all easy from there as we promptly (while laughing, partly out of shock) exited the facility. Huge disappointment and embarrassing in my view for a restaurant that seems otherwise to have maintained a great reputation - and especially so for the fact that service (and people in general) in Houston tend to be kind and accommodating, not typically RUDE or reactionary. I'm encouraging this restaurant to have a look at the service model. I can't say I'll try Postino again the next time I'm in Houston, but I certainly hope it continues to truly earn its 4.5 star rating, 'cause they sure did NOT when I was there this weekend.
