Let me start off by saying - if you're expecting the world renowned Katz's deli in New York just don't. Coz it's not even the same people. This restaurant originated in Austin, Texas and moved to Houston. I've had Katz's on Westheimer multiple times in the last. We would go there for late night meals with my family, random post drinkin grub, or just to chill and have a shake at 3 A.M. The only time I was mostly at Katz's was late at night - coz Katz's never kloses! So when I finally found out that this location was gonna be 24 hours, I was excited. I felt like this area didn't have a good late night spot. Something you would wanna go to after drinking, or if you wanna get some work done somewhere other than your house. I did visit this location on a breakfast. We ordered the chicken and waffles, matzo ball soup and the klassic reuben. All of them were pretty good. I will say though that the price is a little up there, but The portions were ginormous. They also give you complimentary cole slaw and pickles before your food comes out. I've read reviews about the service sucking so bad. Our server was pretty polite and attentive. Overall, I get this place. I love how it's 24 hours. The menu is extensive, and they also have a bar which serves alcohol all the time. Also as a side note they have a dog friendly patio which is a plus for me and my pup! read more

I was surprised to see a Katz's Deli in Conroe. My husband had never made it to the Austin location, so I thought it was worth a visit. Well, it was nothing like the vintage Austin restaurant. Our server explained also that it's no longer a Kosher Jewish Deli ( ). The prices are wayyyyy too high. Thankfully, this was a holiday, special, one time splurge. Yikes. Our drinks weren't offered to be refilled, but only as asked (if the server happened to be close by). The wait was normal- not fast, nor particularly slow. this place has been totally overhauled and revamped since we were last day on. It is now I sit down and be served restaurant is supposed to walk through deli. It is also now open 24 hours a day unfortunately they no longer have the self-serve pickles, and if you would like chips with your sandwich that is an additional $3. Caleb - manager of the restaurant just yelled in my face, in front of my daughter and grabbed our food off of the table because I asked him to stop yelling in my face after he yelled at my daughter. What a miserable, horrible excuse of a man. I can't believe they have a "manager" like that in this place. Walked in and asked to sit on the patio, was rudely told NO, I thought that was weird but said okay. Went to our big booth and my girls asked if they could go sit at the two top/high top booth, I said sure I'll order your food from here! They came back crying because a grown man had yelled at them. I asked to speak to a manager, he was very arrogant and started to yell at me, I asked him to please stop yelling at me and told him he was being incredibly rude. He couldn't hold a normal calm conversation with me, then proceeded to storm off and snatch everything off of our table and told me to leave and that he was calling the cops on me....WILD. Caleb, buddy, I think you need a new job outside of customer service/hospitality/restaurant management. This isn't the industry for you. No grown man needs to be yelling at anyone's daughter for sitting in a booth with her friend. It's really disgusting. By the way, they are 10 years old and weren't doing anything wrong. I went there on Sunday, 11/07/2021. There was plenty of seating, half the restaurant was empty. I had to wait 20 minutes to get a table because I couldn't sit at the bar. I can't sit up that high it hurts my legs too much. I got a sigh and a roll of the girls eyes at that. They finally seated me and the waiter was ok, not real friendly, but not rude. The food was good, but they didn't tell me they charged extra for ranch, most restaurants don't charge extra. When I go the bill I mention it, the waiter ignored me. I came here about 4 yrs ago, and I was disappointed then, but I thought things would change.............NOT My daughter and I came here to get an after movie meal. She order a cup of Matzo Ball soup and cheese crisps (fried cheese curds). I ordered corned beef hash and over easy eggs with rye toast. Our server was great. He answered questions, and took care of his job well. When it came to the food, my daughter liked the fried crisps ok, but said the Matzo Ball soup tasted like broth from a ramen packet. She even showed me the yellow powder residue at the bottom of the bowl. I got my dish, and immediately sent the eggs back as they were crispy...... if you have read my breakfast reviews, eggs are a simple item to cook, but these were fried brown and the edges were crispy dark brown and one yolk was already hard. I asked for rye toast, it was not toasted at all, in fact it was cold still. The manager came around to ask how the food was and I told him. At this point I was done eating and still did not get my eggs back...he tried to explain that rye bread was hard to toast.....I was also advised that the ramen, I mean Matzo ball soup was made with homemade broth. I asked for the check, and my eggs finally showed up!! I really wish I would have taken pictures as the eggs were more crispy than the original ones. We had cheese crisp, chicken and waffles, a vanilla milkshake, kids cheese pizza, French onion soup, and. French dip sandwich. Everything was perfectly cooked and huge. The chicken and waffles disappeared quickly. We ate so fast I forgot to get pictures lol. We will be back. Dennis the manager was great and offered great advice for what to order. Ummmm no. Never again. First of all, I ordered 2 philly cheesesteaks because i used to live downtown and i was addicted to them. Additionally, I specifically asked for extra mayo. "Sure! No problem!" Then we say F it and let's try something else. Big mistake. The peach tea was disgusting and had no type of peach flavor in it. The coffee was like warm at best. I apologize to anyone that has been to Katz's delicatessen in New York for thinking that Katz's deli in the Woodlands is anything like that. My husband asked for an espresso they didn't have it. Not a big deal. She said we have nitro and he said I'll have that. And she said we don't have that right now. Not a big deal got a cup of coffee. Waited 20 minutes for a cup of coffee and she kept saying his coffee was coming. What delicatessen that's open 24 seven doesn't have coffee already brewed? The Katz is based off a deli in New York. This restaurant is big with lots of seating if you want a booth or a table. The only huge downside was the service. Our waiter took forever to get to my table. Literally a party came in after we came in, and he took the party order first even though we were sat down first. Even when he was done taking their order, it took him about 5-10 minutes to even come to my table. Another waiter had to get our drinks because our waiter didn't even come to get it. Service is slow. Maybe they're understaffed? I only saw about 3-4 servers working and 1 hostess. Food was good but service lacked a lot. The Katz Pride w Onion Rings - I didn't eat this one, but I took a bite so my rating is - 3/5 I had mixed feelings about this one. Coming from a person who isn't really fond of coleslaw, it just wasn't for me. My boyfriend liked this sandwich, but he said that mines was better. The sandwich came with corned beef, Russian dressing, and a ton of coleslaw on rye. If we do order this sandwich again, I would ask for toasted bread. The bread was soggy at the bottom when it arrived to the table which just wasn't very appetizing. He ordered a side of onion rings which is what you will expect. They were super crispy unlike other onion rings. It had a thick thick batter which I didn't mind. Temperature again could have been better. We had a nice Father's Day breakfast here, good food (albeit the chicken from the chicken & waffles was extremely greasy) and good service. The only downside was that we wanted to bring our dog to the patio and was told that the patio was closed until 10am (it was 9am). After i ordered my turkey plate, the waiter returned to inform me that they were out of gravy and did i want to order something else. The meat loaf was perfectly tender and very tasty. The French bread dipped in was like kissing your sandwich-literally and figuratively. Too tasty. The matzo ball soup was good but not great. The matzo ball is pretty large so be sure to share with a friend. We ordered chicken wings that were not spicy-garlic Parmesan. Easily one of my favorite places to grab a bite to eat. Kosher and delicious. What's not to love? Well its supposed to be kosher lol. When I was keto this was HEAVEN. To be honest, I avoided coming to this "Katz deli" because it's obviously a copy-cat of the real Katz's delicatessen at 205 East Houston St., Manhattan, New York. How well do they copy? Meh. Maybe if you've never been to the New York landmark you'd be fooled. But I suspect people are smarter than that. The food is okay. Actually in some specific cases, it's quite good. For example: the Cheese Blintzes are faithful to the real McCoy. They're creamy, savory (with a hint of sweet), and served piping hot. There are sauces as toppings to choose from (such as apple) that elevate the experience. You won't be disappointed. Their Motzo Ball soup, in the other hand, is only passable as a soup. The soup broth is quite good. The flavor does not taste artificial and the accompanying vegetables seem quite fresh. However, the motzo balls themselves are mushy and have very little flavor. Bummer. The big disappointment is their pastrami. I think their source must be the local grocery store. Seriously. It's just that unremarkable. The Katz's delicatessen in New York is famous for their pastrami. It's heavenly delicious and honestly makes the world a better place. Here? Well, it is technically pastrami. But it will never make the big time. Another point of contention I have is their portion sizes. Specifically, the "New York" size. This is not anything like the servings from the real deal. I ordered a Ruben sandwich and was shocked to learn that they used equal parts pastrami and sauerkraut. Then, adding insult to injury, they instert a piece of bread in the middle in attempt to add more height. The result? You have equal parts of bread, "pastrami", and sauerkraut. Then they toss in a slice of cheese to still be able to call the sandwich a Ruben. This is not acceptable. It may be okay for a captive audience to come here for a change of pace. But this is not a go-to spot for a satisfying delicatessen experience. read more

This is a perfect example of what franchising can do to a product. This is a dismal attempt to recreate a New York Classic experience. It's like going to Las Vegas to see the Eiffel tower and think that's what Paris has to offer. Order the #3 sandwich. Pastrami, corn-beef, turkey with provolone cheese on French bread. The meats were as if they came out of an Oscar Meyer package. And don't let me fool you Oscar Meyer would have been a step up in this case. The size of the sandwich for $15 was something I could have gotten for $5 at subway. And once again hand better/more flavor. I have been to two Katz locations and both are pretty terrible.
