My husband and I were starving after our flight to Lihue from the mainland. Kauai Boba & Barbeque came highly recommended, and it did not disappoint! You order at the counter, and they give you a pager, as they cook everything to order. I think it took 10-15 min for our food to be made. We shared two combination plates. The Bento and the seafood with short ribs. Everything was tasty but I didn't really like the texture of the teri steak served with the bento plate. The chicken, short ribs, and fish were all yummy! The rice was perfectly cooked. The mac and regular salads were also good. For our drink, we shared a mango boba - it was nice and chilly for the humid weather! The prices are reasonable for the huge portions and quality of the food. There's also plenty of outdoor seating, some of which is covered, which was nice because it started raining while we were eating. Came here twice and service was always quick and easy! We ordered the chicken katsu plate, ahi steak healthy plate, guava boba and dragon fruit boba. The chicken katsu plate was massive! There was plenty of crispy chicken pieces and I loved the katsu sauce it came with - some places don't taste right but this place was perfect. The guava boba was a refreshing drink while the dragon fruit boba tasted a little more artificial. The boba had a perfect chew. The second time we got a bbq mixed plate with a guava peach boba. Each piece of protein was juicy and had so much flavor in each bite. Truly appreciate the amount of meat you get. Asking for two fruits in the real fruit boba was such a smart move. Great little spot with some other food trucks in Lihue near the airport, Royal Sonesta, Marriott, & cruise ship port! I went with a coworker for lunch and got the Teriyaki Beef Bowl and she got the Chicken Katsu plate. Mine was the perfect amount of food! The beef was incredibly tender, the veggies were good, and I enjoyed the sauce. I tried a piece of her chicken which was also very crispy and had a nice flavor. I came back later and got a burger and fries. It was a nice change from the plate lunches I'd been eating on the rest of the trip. Good but not quite exception. Like that there are tables under a tent so you're covered in the event of a passing rain shower, however it's extremely annoying to eat when there are quite literally 50+ chickens pecking around your feet. I tried the bbq mixed grill plate and the garlic shrimp plate. The kalbi was good but a bit on the fatty side, and I liked the grilled steak. Chicken was just ok. The kimchi was a nice side to have and was decent. They used the chopped garlic you buy in a giant bottle on the garlic shrimp, which has a distinctively different taste than if they used normal real fresh garlic. This made the shrimp a miss for me. Got the dragonfruit real fruit smoothie and it was light and refreshing but just a little too mild in flavor and not worth the $7. Service was friendly and they brought the food out to the table for us when it was ready. Overall the food was fine but nothing was particularly fantastic so I just couldn't give it five stars. read more

Love the convenience of having a food truck so close to the shopping center. When I went by this was the only place that was open, which was fine by me because I really wanted some boba. The prices have gone up a little from what I saw online but it wasn't too bad. I got the matcha milk tea with boba and it was delicious. I also ordered a loco moco for dinner. The loco moco was good but very plain. I may just be biased because I make it all the time at home and use a lot of ingredients. The portion size was big. It filled me up but next time I'll try another dish. The workers here are nice and they bring the food out to you while you're waiting. Lots of seating as this is an area for the food trucks. While on Kauai we had to drive to a store for a couple of things. My wife, my self, and our son. After getting what we needed we thought of having lunch. After checking a few places that we going to be closed, we opted for the Food Truck Park across from the stores. This was the only food truck operating and it was the one we would have chosen anyway. I had a boba for a drink. We in the lower 48 know it as bubble tea, which I'm a fan of. Remember we're on Kauai which is part of Hawaii. So my wife and son order the same think... Saw this when we first got to the island, but our hotel was north of Lihue, we didn't get a chance until the very last day. Of all the place we ate at over the 4 days, this was the best as everything just seemed to be hot off the grill fresh. My husband and I shared the Mixed BBQ plate with Kalbi spareribs, bbq chicken and bbq beef. It was good. Kalbi spareribs always has a lot of gristle but good flavor.
