I am beyond disappointed and upset with this location. I purchased a diamond band as a 20th-anniversary gift for my wife, secured the order for pick-up at the Los Cerritos Center store, and thought I had this milestone gift taken care of. Instead of fulfilling the order, I received a cold, automated cancellation email stating there was an "inventory issue"--after I had already dealt with the store. No one from the store had the courtesy to call me personally to explain the mistake or offer a solution. They just cancelled it without a word. It is unacceptable to treat a customer this way, especially when it involves a significant anniversary gift. You cannot confirm an order and then quietly cancel it via email with zero effort to make it right. You have completely ruined this experience for me. 2/26/21 COVID times My husband and I haven't been here to do our annual ring inspection for years. I called them up to see if I needed an appointment for inspection and resizing. The lady on the phone informed me a walk in was fine. I gathered all the paperwork for the visit and popped in the same evening. My family and I were greeted by both ladies. Christy helped us with two ring re-sizing/inspection and one inspection. Since our last visit, they have updated all the files to digital iPad status. She verified our purchases, rings and ensured my file was up to date. My toddler girls were with us and they were Uber excited to see the rings under the microscope. She kindly offered to show them on the screen which made my girls very happy (very kind). I wanted to surprise my wife on our 32nd wedding anniversary. So my wife and I went to Kay Jewelers because I said that a particular watch caught my eye. While there the salesperson Hannah came to assist us. I told Hannah that I was actually here to replace my wife's lost wedding ring as an anniversary/Christmas present. I turned to my wife and told her to pick out a ring of her choice but don't dare look at the price, I know my wife, she's very humble, content and not extravagant. This has been the best experience I've ever had at any jeweler. Vee treated us with respect as soon as we entered the shop. She would stop at nothing to help a customer! As you can see from the pictures my ring was (to some jewelers) unrepairable. Vee took it and treated it like it was her own. She was able to repair it to perfect condition. I could not be happier. After dealing with the employees at Kay's Lakewood location, I called this one and spoke to the Assistant Manager, Vee. I let her know about my previous experience and she let me know she would help me out. I went and she totally exceeded my expectations. She swapped out my original ring for 2 other pieces, a dainty gold necklace and a smaller gold ring. She even had the gentleman clean my engagement ring, a gold necklace and the pair of Tiffany earrings I had on, free of charge. I walked out not having to pay anything out of pocket. My review for this location is purely in regards to their customer service. In the past, I've only ever visited the Westminster location. On Sunday, January 12th, I came to pick up my wedding ring, engagement ring, and third band that had been out for service/rhodium plating. I received a notification that my jewelry was ready for pick up the day before (the 11th). On the 12th, the mall opened at 11am. I arrived at 10:50am and noticed a handwritten sign on the gate of Kay's that said they had inventory and would open at 12pm (1 hour past opening time). Fine. So, I went to have lunch with my daughter and came back at 12:15. I stood outside the gate for 5 minutes without one worker looking at me. Finally, I asked if I could get my rings. Christy, their manager, told me that they would open in another 30 minutes. I asked if the store would really open in 30 minutes - she said "maybe not, sorry". So, I had to wait longer. At 12:51, the store finally opened and I was able to enter. Every worker was giving me nasty looks and wouldn't offer to help me. I said I was there to pick up my rings, and Cynthia took 5-10 minutes to locate my rings. When she came back and told me she couldn't find them, I provided a receipt and she said "Oh, they are REPAIRS". How on earth would I know they label servicing as a repair? I have a certified stone, so I have always checked the number on the stone when I pick up. Cynthia handed me a jewelers loop and seemed absolutely appalled that I would ask her to pull it up on the large screened magnifier the rest of them use. I was complete appalled at the lack of customer service, respect, and common decency from this location. I will drive farther to go to Westminster from now on where they are kind! Service here is top notch, in my book!!! Hubby and I purchased our wedding rings here, and pretty much all of our jewelry here. Every visit here is a great one!!! This Kay is located in the Los Cerritos Center mall. It's close by to one of the main entrances (by CPK and by the new Lazy Dog Cafe). I really like this location because if all I wanted to do was get my jewelry cleaned and inspected it would make for a really quick in and out kind of trip. While all the ladies who work here are great and nice, it's Renee and Jillian who stick out the most and really make my visits here worthwhile. Renee was the one who helped out with our wedding bands and such, and whenever I go for cleaning and inspections I look for her. She's super nice and friendly. Jillian is super sweet as well. She recently helped me out with an almost tragic jewelry incident, but she was really helpful and understanding. Even if I stop by to look at all the pretty, sparkley jewelry, never once am I pressured or haggled here. I can look at my own pace and to my hearts content. I wear my jewelry from here pretty much everyday. The metal and the stones that I wear totally withstand all of my everyday doings and they still continue to shine and sparkle and keep me very happy!!! This store is AWFUL. I came to purchase my wedding ring and naturally bought the warranty. Long and behold, not one of the 3 people who helped me stated I needed to mandatory come in every 6 months otherwise the warranty is voided. Fast forward, I come in to have my ring polished and replace 2 diamonds - I'm told I have to PAY for the service I already purchased with the warranty. I call customer service and they were useless. We originally went to Jared and the service was fine until they tricked us into signing up for a credit card. After our experience at Jared we were pretty put off about buying an engagement ring. First time at any Kay Jewelers store. Not a pleasant first time interaction. The reason I visit the store was to look for wedding rings for my fiancé but before looking into rings; I decided wanted my ring to be cleaned for the very first time. (Bad idea, can't express how much I regret asking for cleaning). The girl who was voluntold to clean my ring sprayed so much chemical even the inside of the diamond shows how humid is in there, we would need to remove the diamond to clean it properly and remove that water stain. It was so wet when I got it back I had to dry it with my shirt (it's now sticky and feels dirty, so sad because my ring was far from dirty). So I shut my mouth and tried looking for his ring. Well no expression wanting to be there, kept scratching her head with her pen and full hand (very unsanitary for someone that had to hand off rings and place them back). There wasn't much but I did find a Neil Lane ring that became one of rings I actually considered as "the one". The engraving style was beautiful but ultimately the diamonds within the setting were lower in grade so I didn't get it. The customer service was good though. Monique is the one who helped us out and actually recommended the Neil Lane ring when I'd told her I was into the vintage look. Horrible experience! Picking out an engagement ring should be happy time, filled with joy, but not when you shop at the Kay Jewelry store in Dover, DE. We visited the Dover, DE store to inquire about a ring we saw on the Kay Jewelers website. They attempted to make a few calls and could not find what we were looking. Konner, the sales rep said he would continue to call to see if it was available in a different store. He told me he would call me later that afternoon and let me know, but never asked for my contact information. I provided my name and telephone number. I was not surprised when he did not call. I called him and he said he did not have any additional information. I decided to go to the KAY Jewelers website to see if I could have their CHAT sales representative help me find the ring. Destiny said she found the ring! I confirmed with her several times yellow gold 1/13ct total weight in diamonds, wonderful. I never received a receipt. No way of proving my purchase. No way of tracking my purchase. I called Destiny and left a message, she never returned my call. I called Kay Jewelers customer service, several times. I was hung up on by Jessica. After hours on the phone I was provided determine the store where the ring was purchased from. I called the store and they assured me the ring was shipped to the store in Dover, DE . They would call me when it arrived to let me know it was available to pick up. They never called me. After a few days I called the store, and Konner answered the phone and told me, the ring was there. We go to the store in Dover, DE and after several minutes of searching a representative assures me the ring is not there. With some assistance, the ring was located. However it was not the ring I ordered. The paperwork accompanying the ring stated, NO E RECEIPT and listed my name and telephone number stating to give me a call to pick up. MJ the store manager found her way over and I shared that the ring was not what I had ordered and questioned her on the paperwork. I asked why I was not called, she said "We do not call to tell people their orders are in". My engagement ring was purchased here, the employee was patient, but still got the feeling she was trying to push a sale. The downfall came after that. Just a month after I got the ring I had to take it in for repair and it took over 2 wks for me to get it back, I am always busy with my kids so I didn't like having to waste my time having to go drop it off and pick it back up. To my surprise, 2 wks after I got it back- I had to take it in again for the same problem! The prongs that were holding 2 bands together snapped so easily, I just decided to get it soldered together so I could get rid of the problem. The employees weren't very helpful when I went in for the repairs, they seemed a bit annoyed that I was bringing something back to be fixed. I located a ring made by LeVian in their catalog, however nobody had one in stock and said it would take several weeks to order the ring, which I did not have that much time. I went to Kays in the mall and was greeted by a sales person, her name was Valeria. I told her my dilemma and she totally went out of her way to help me. She was on the phone for about 15 minutes. When she came back and said she could get the ring for me and it was also considerably cheaper than the catalog price. She ordered two ring, to see which one would come to her store quicker. My fiancé and I got my engagement ring and our wedding bands here and I have been incredibly disappointed. One of the service women there broke my ring prior to putting it in the cleaner and it was a 2 week send out. When I came back 2 weeks later the ring broke again immediately when I got home so it had to be sent out again. That same service person also said my engagement ring does not have a marching band and that I would have to purchase a custom band for $2,500. Then Valeria (thank goodness for her) did find the marching band for less than 1/3rd of that price. This took a while and even though we went to chose bands 3 months prior to the wedding, I will not have my band in time at my wedding.
