I went in to buy a last minute Christmas gift and was surprised by how many people were working there and few customers they had. I told the woman my price range i was looking to spend and made a comment about not wanting "lab" created gemstones. I only wanted to spend between 2 and 3 hundred dollars. She was not real helpful only showing me items in the 3 to mid 4 hundred dollar range. Then she made a comment that maybe i should put in for 1000 line of credit so i could look at a better item. I took this to mean she felt i didn't have a thousand dollars in my pocket because i didn't want to spend that much there. I said i didn't need that and she stated "well you're the one that came in here" at which point i laughed and said well thanks ladies and walked out the door. Took necklace in to be repaired at Kay Jewelers in the Westfield Mall in Tukwila, Washington. The communication was great! Text messages regarding status of repair and when it was ready for pickup. Done early, way ahead of schedule! Lilith, the person who helped me when I picked it up was friendly, kind and professional. Necklace repair was successful. However... upon entering the store mid day during a non-busy time (I was the only customer in the store) .., although there were 3 employees working, no one was there to say hello or welcome in. After wandering around for a short time looking for someone... I approached the person rearranging watches at the store entrance and said "hi". Literally I said "hi". Person looked up and seemed extra upset I was interrupting the watch rearranging and answered me they don't work there and I need to head back and pointed to back of store. Are you kidding me? Ok, perhaps you are a watch rep and can't be bothered to say hello with a smile but... come on. Unacceptable in every way. I came here for the first time to get my ring sized. They were very friendly and got it done quick. The next time we came in, it was to look at wedding bands. We met with Arayaka. Let me tell you, she is a great woman to work with and I remember just having a lot of fun with her. Not because I was giddy from choosing a ring, but she really was a wonderful person to work with. She helped me with my fiancé's band and we originally wanted tungsten and looked at various rings, but she also pointed out that with tungsten, if you need it resizes, you would need a brand new ring and hats not what we wanted. I was glad she was very honest about it. She helped pick my band and we tried sooo many different ones from different thicknesses, diamonds, insets. She was very patient with me through this process. I ended up choosing 2 small bands since my fingers are dainty. She really let me take my time every step of the way. She even had me try only one band or the possibility of 2 bands and I kept going back and forth during all of it. No smile at all on her face and we asked a couple of questions and received no answers. She washed my ring but I bet she did not wash it properly because I had to go back there to rewash. I visited the store on 3/27/23, and met Jennifer. I went in to look at watches. I want to get myself a nice piece for my next birthday. Without any doubt or hesitation, she is the epidemy of what customer service should be. Patience, knowledge of product, pricing, and just laid back and chill. She didnt have to go ask someone else about anything. There were no " I dont know" or " Let me go ask" answers. Dogs came up(we both have pit bulls) and she showed me pictures of one of her babies. My wife had given me a general hint of what she wanted, so we went in and chose a ring which she wanted. It was 12/13 a Sunday which was the last day of their "customer appreciation sale" However Blanca the sales woman was not able to apply the coupon so she said she would charge me for a diamond necklace, and order the ring into the store. Once the ring arrived, they would do an exchange so that I would get the discounted price. She said the ring would be resized and arrive 12/21, plenty of time to present it to my wife for Christmas, so I handed over my Kay card. 12/23 arrived and I had not heard back about my wife's ring so I called. I was told that they had no order for me. I asked to have Blanca call me, and received no phone call. I called back on 12/24 and asked to have the manager call me. Still nothing. So I went without being able to give my wife the ring to my wife for Christmas! I called on 12/26 and asked to speak to the manager but was unavailable. Finally Kelly the manger called back and said that they did not have the ring and that it would not be available until the end of January and "that's just the way it is" She said it had to come from a different store so it was taking longer. No apology, nothing. I was floored, so I called customer care. They referred me to the district manager Melissa Henry who I called only to just get a voice mail and got no response, so called back customer care a week later. Each time spending 20 minutes explaining my complaint to new CSR. I left several messages to district manager and got no response, so finally asked to speak to her boss and told we don't give out his contact info, but managed to get transferred to Signa (parent company) Vice Presidents voice mail. During one of my calls to customer care I found out my Kay account had been charged another $300 dollars. I asked what this was for, and was told it was for the ring I had ordered. I explained that I was charged for a necklace and the ring was to be ordered into the store. The CSR said that she could not refund the charge it would have to be done in the store as the transaction took place in the store, however I NEVER AUTHORIZED THIS CHARGE. I went to store to find out manager Kelly was on vacation. A sales associate said she could reverse the charge however, and she did, but she could not say why my account had been charged. Nobody in the store knew how my Kay account was charged, but after another 30 min phone call to Customer Care, they informed me that the request came from the store on 12/28 to get the ring into the store as a matter of "convenience" to me. I asked how having an unauthorized charge to which I was now being held financially responsible was convenient? I said this was fraud, not convenience. Called Customer Care to contact SVP. He said that the District manager Melissa Henry had tried reaching out to me. I told him if that's what she is saying, that she was lying, as I had no contact. He said he would have her get back to me. I asked him how an unauthorized transaction could occur to which he said he did not have access to the store's Point of Sale system and would have the DM look into it but was going to have customer care credit me $50 dollars for the trouble. So 3 weeks after Christmas and still no ring. I received a couple of voice mails from DM , and each time she would say my account balance was zero. I knew it was zero because I had paid it off immediately and asked that the credit line be dropped because I could not be sure that someone in their store wasn't going to start making charges again. When I actually talked to her, she said she has many stores to take care of and did not have time to look into it, but would be in that store the next day and would get back to me. After a week, I called and left several messages but was again ignored. So I again spent 30 minutes on phone to get to SVP voice mail indicating she had not "investigated the matter" Within an hour I got a phone call from the DM. She said she talked to manager and associate. I asked her what "What assurance do I have that my Kay card won't be charged again?" She said that can't happen unless I sign for it, to which I said Well we both know that's not true, or otherwise I would not have had a 2nd charge to my card without my signature. She basically just blew me off. I've never experienced such horrible customer service....and the kicker, the Manager Kelly who blew me off and was rude to me, got promoted to a district manager position for South King County stores! Not sure how a company expects to make a profit if they promote people who are rude and allow fraud to take place. Buyer beware! Don't shop in this store!!! read more

We were looking for some Sterling Silver jewelry for simple gifts for some relatives to give to friends when they go back to Asia. We were online and found Kay. The website showed some items for $15-$20, so we went in. The employees were smug and greeted us with contempt. We asked what they had in this price range & they told us they only have "high end" jewelry & that everything starts at around $99. They actually looked at us like we could not afford to shop at their store. Now, I realize that we were looking for some cheap items to give away, but $99 to $200 is not "high end". I am a longtime purchasers of Kay but the service I received at this location the other day was so disappointing. I have a upcoming trip and I need both my bracelet and necklace fixed and while I was at it I was going to have my rings inspected and cleaned. Well that is not how things went. When I entered the store only one sales rep spoke she said "welcome in and we will be right with you" (an older African American) there were 2 other reps whom were all helping someone (that's fine) and then 1 lady ahead of me waiting. As soon as the 1st sales rep was finished she helped her immediately and I waited my turn no big deal. The next sales rep that finished was a younger Mixed race male whom looked me right in the eye and went to the back. I figure maybe he was going on lunch but a proper acknowledgment was not given. I stayed and waited about 25 mins the lady who spoke to me when I came in completed her sale and immediately began working on the computer and then acknowledged a couple who came in AFTER ME and no one else ever bothered to ask me what I needed. There was another rep in the back who came out looked at me and immediately went back to the back. I don't want to call it discriminatory but that's what it felt like. All the other people getting helped and acknowledge right away looked a certain way. I came in young African American female with my 9 year old son baseball cap jeans and tennis shoes and was just completely overlooked. After 30 mins I gave up and just left but I will not act like I wasn't offended because I waited around the store just to see and the 2 in the back came out after about 5 mins and the couple who came in after me were helped not even 2 mins of me leaving the store. Not the service I'm use to getting I buy all my jewelry from here and I was so disappointed yesterday that I don't think I'll ever step back into this location. read more

Recently I purchased a ring for my g/f and when I bought it, I knew it would be too big so I asked the gal that was helping me if the sizing was included. She said yes it was. She told me to bring my girlfriend in for sizing. When we returned, the two ladies that waited on us said that because I didn't opt for the $50 extended coverage I would have to pay for sizing. I argued my point very curtly until the manager stepped in and covered the sizing. When my g/f picked up the ring, she tried it on and it fit great. When she got home she noticed that the ring was missing one of its small side stones, and the stamping on the inside was gone. It had to go back for another month to be fixed. Because of past experiences, I am giving a three, but if this was my first experience they would get a 1 from me. read more

I called Kay Jewelers after inheriting a ring from a death in the family this week. It makes me happy to wear, but it's slightly large so I'm looking for a way to decrease the size. The woman I spoke with in the Federal Way store said it was not a problem that I did not get the ring at Kay, only that they were out of stock for yellow gold. She was very nice about it. Unfortunately, the woman I spoke with today at the Tuckwila store became VERY judgemental and quickly said "oh I thought you got it here, we can't do it, goodbye" - hanging up on me. Very unprofessional, and I'm certainly not in a place to stand for being treated like this right now. As a woman in her late 20's currently ring shopping with her boyfriend of 5 years, I know now that I will NEVER shop at Kay Jewelers Tuckwila. My advice to others is to steer clear, unless you're in an understandably more resilient headspace than one is in after such a loss. read more

The associates are always eager to help you if you're purchasing... But if you're coming in to get your jewelries inspected, cleaned, or repaired, you are second priority. I brought my white gold necklace in last month for a repair, two weeks later, they tried to give me a different chain. They tried to give me a silver necklace. I don't know if they lost my chain or intentionally tried to swap it with something of lesser value. They never attempt to contact me. I have to repeatedly call them, and I always get the same response "I'll have my manager call you back". It's been a month and I'm still waiting to get my necklace back. PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING KAY JEWELERS!! I bought / ordered our wedding rings here. My ring still had not showed up on "promise date". I was a little bothered that nobody even cared to apologize for it being late but things happen...... Then they called me days later and told me they got the ring in but it was not the size I ordered. We went in to see if it would fit anyway and it did which was great / lucky, but it didnt have the correct finish I had chosen. Without apology, the saleswoman (whom I purchased it from) told me she would send it to the shop and call me in a couple of hours, so I went to a movie to kill time. She called me during the movie but I didnt answer. I called back after the movie and she answered the phone instantly yelling, "I CALLED YOU OVER AN HOUR AGO!" No hello, no greeting of any kind. When I said "excuse me?!?" She preceeded to tell me that she yelled at me because she thought I had been her husband calling, but I could tell she was lying, making up an excuse for yelling at me because she knew she was in the wrong. So I go to pick up the ring and now it was missing one of the diamonds. (Seriousily?) when we pointed out the missing daimond she preceeded to complain about how the repair shop should have noticed it missing, taking no responsibility for anything that happened thus far herself. Never once saying the simple words "I am sorry". So we had to drive back and pick it up for a third time. I am currently sitting in my car waiting to pick up my ring because I took it and my fiances ring to get polished for the big day ( we are leaving for Hawaii the next day and was told it was ready for pickup). After driving across town, I picked it up, and.... another daimond is missing. This time however the ladies in the store were very proffessional and apologetic. They had it repaired and had it ready for pickup in less than an hour. I wish I had bought it from one of them! So we had the wedding in Hawaii and it was wonderful!!, but.... the next day we noticed that a diamond is missing from my fiances ring now. ARE you $@&%#ing kidding me!?!?! Now she gets to go back to work and show off her empty finger to her friends and co-workers because her ring will be back in the shop. How awesome for her. And how wonderful to spend two more of our days off driving across town to drop off, then later pick up her ring. I'm not sure if this business is selling junk jewelry ( our rings cost about $10,000 together ) or if their repair shop is trashing our rings when we bring them in, but either way this has been an awful experience and I will strongly discourage anyone from ever shopping at Kay jewelers. The only reason I would give them any star rating at all is because some of the sales women I dealt with were professional. I should find the name of the one that yells at her customers and doesn't know how to apologize though. She was completely unprofessional. I feel uncomfortable even walking by the store when I go to the mall because of her. And a tip for you Kay- maybe inspect your rings before you tell people they are ready for pick up and have us drive through traffic on our days off only to find their ring is in fact not ready, making us either wait for hours, or come back yet another time. read more

Kay's is a great place, but be sure to stay away from Kay's in South Center. My daughter and son-in-law lost everything in a fire. The second 1/2 of her wedding ring was part of the loss. After working with Kay's and the insurance company they went to Kay's to order the ring. With documentation from Kay's Corporate office In hand, they went to their closest Kay's. They were treated rudely by the sales girl and even more rudely by the manager. Both of them, my daughter and her husband, are assistant managers in very large retail stores, so they were appalled by the treatment. They did contact Kay's Corporate office, who were angry to hear about such treatment; they promised the ring would be delivered to another store, so they would not have to interact with these unprofessional sales people again. When we brought the ring back to have it sized we found out that was it was $20 to $100 to have it sized. With the watch they just simply didn't have the tool, how convenient. He changed the battery quickly and set my watch to the current time and date. Had my wedding band ordered, they sent the completely wrong size, had to get it repaired to pick up ten days later, apparently it's still the wrong size so they are doing it within the day. Why did they not do this before? It's been a month I've already received my bill, but haven't even worn my ring. This is ridiculous. We bought our wedding bands at Kay along with the lifetime plan for the jewelry. The diamonds fell out of my husbands band, so we brought it in to be replaced. They sales woman said they would need to send in his ring and they would completely replace it! (I don't think so, this is the band I gave him on our wedding day) They also wanted us to pay the $50 dollar shipping fee. They then went on to say the tungsten ring is built around the diamonds in the band. The diamond is an insert. Thank you for nothing. So glad we bought the lifetime plan! Worst shopping experience of my life!!! I had the unfortunate experience of losing my wedding ring. I began looking for a replacement and found a beautiful one at Kay.com. I began watching it so see if it would go on sale. It turned out that the Kay and the Southcenter Mall was having their biggest one day sale of the year event in a few weeks so I held out until that day to go purchase the ring. The weekend before their big sale, my ring was 20% off but I didn't go purchase it because I thought that their biggest sale would be even better. When I got there my ring was not on sale at all but the sales lady agreed to give me 20% off anyway. I could have gotten it the week before for that same price but oh well. She ordered the ring because they did not have it in stock. She then upsells me on the extended warranty by telling me that it would protect my stones if they are ever lost or damaged. Then she tells me that she cannot give me the sale price right away because it is not in the system that way and that she'll charge my card the full amount and then give me a refund when I come pick up the ring, Ok, fine. She then tells me the ring will be delivered on the following Wednesday. Wednesday comes and it doesn't look like it was even shipped yet so I called customer service who tells me that it takes longer for sizing. I don't get my ring until a week after it was promised. When I go pick it up they tell me that it is no longer on sale and they can't credit my card for the difference once it's been charged. Are you kidding me??? After I threaten to cancel my order and go buy it from Zales they go get someone else to assist me. She is finally able to refund the original price and re-charge the sale price, but it took an hour and I went on my one hour lunch break so I was late getting back to work. I also told her to forget about the extended warranty because according to their website it doesn't even cover the gemstones but the gemstones are guaranteed for life with purchase. She tells me that the warranty protects the gold and I told her that I wasn't worried about the gold and that her sales lady lied to me by telling me it protected the stones. My purchase also qualified for $1200 of instant rewards, so against my better judgement I decided to get a Christmas gift for my mother in law using these rewards. You have to spend the rewards in $100 increments and spend three times the amount of the reward so I spent some time and found a great $300 gift so I could get it for $200. When I placed the order online it wouldn't let me use the rewards, of course!!! I contacted customer service only to find out that you cannot use the rewards on customizable items such as a charm bracelet which is engraved, even though it doesn't say this anywhere in their disclaimers! I sent a complaint to their customer care department about this whole experience and they did nothing to make it right. It is not just the Southcenter location which is awful, it is the whole damn company! Stay away unless you want to be lied to and treated like crap. read more

This place is the most disorganized store I have ever been to! It took us 4 times visiting them to get our order right. Best part is, is when they called me to tell us 1/2 our order was in and then told me I was wrong about the order actually being in. I had to basically play them the voicemail from THEM! Then they never called when the second 1/2 of our order came in. We were consistently having to follow up with them because of the disorganization and crazy customer experience. Everything I've gotten from Kay has broken. Four times I bought a Seahawk charm for my Pandora bracelet and each time it broke and I had to get a replacement. I tried to get a different charm but they said they could only replace it with the same charm each time. I finally convinced them to give me a different charm and this one just broke too. Now they say they have no record of this last exchange and can't do anything for me. I would never shop there again read more
