I love this place so much! I have been coming here for years, mainly due to the wonderful guest service. My friends drive all the way from West Nashville! It's VERY clean, and friendly from all staff whether they are slammed or you're the only guest in the store. I am a restaurant manager and I would not waste my time or money on a business that I didn't 100% believe in. Recently moving from Hendersonville to Whitehouse, I tell everyone who compliments my nails to go to Kayla's. Walk-ins are welcome, but keep in mind, it's not a secret that they are awesome. Little bit sad to be saying this. I started to go to Kayla's consistently. Every time the price was different ($40, $45, $50, $55, $60) for acrylic gel nails. Besides asking for my chromas nails I never asked for a design just a color change so it was confusing to me about how the price was ALWAYS changing. I speak Vietnamese and have heard how the staff talk about their clients. Not bad just making fun, but is just not ideal to hear. My dad is Asian mom is white. At first I told Kayla how much I enjoy coming to their salon. I realized I always had to be their last appt during the work week due to my work schedule. I've never been picky about who does them I just didn't understand the different prices. I'm also sad about hearing how staff jokingly talks about customers. The salon doesn't have good customer service skills at all. I was an excellent tipper, as I would tip 50% of the total cost of the services. I scheduled an appointment with one of the technicians, and after waiting for 40 minutes, I decided that I couldn't wait any longer... Kayla, the owner, saw me dry off my feet, put on my shoes, and watched me walk out. We actually made eye contact and she never said a word to me. She must've been angry that I scheduled an appointment with one of her employees, rather than with her. I guess she was mad that she wasn't going to receive my tip. I never went back and I think this was most unprofessional and petty to act in this manner! I would recommend taking your business elsewhere. I'm not the type to provide negative feedback, but I feel the encounter was a horrible experience for me, as well as her technician. Kayla's Nail is clean and they do such an amazing job. it is so hard to find a nail shop that is consistent. This was extremely disappointing. I was a walk in on a Monday night for a gel manicure. I was told a twenty minute wait, which was not a problem. Forty five minutes later, I'm finally seated at a station and given my options for gel. The gentleman sat down to do my nails. The work station had a used towel on it. What I received was an attempt to file my nails with an extremely thin file. This left my nails jagged with visible bits hanging off the edges. He tried to use a drill on my nails which I refused. He buffed out my nails and told me to wash my hands. At this point, I saw how awful the filing looked. My nails were slanted and jagged. I asked for him to correct this because he was ready to put on the polish. No cuticle oil, no proper shaping, no clean utensils. He half attempted to correct it and only made it worse. I said to forget it. He said no charge, so I left. Please save yourself the time and choose another nail salon. I don't know how they received any positive reviews. read more

Honestly, I was a bit put off when I arrived due to the misquoted wait time and lack of polish options. BUUUUT... The pedicure I received today was probably the best I've ever had. Emma did an impeccable job tending to myself and my 5 year old daughter. She was so patient, kind, detail oriented and did an impeccable, beautiful job. Disappointing all around. I was in town and needed a manicure. I scoured Yelp and this place had stellar reviews, so driving up to Hendersonville seemed like a no brainer. I called ahead and they were able to squeeze me in about an hour later, which was appreciated. I get the impression this place does not take walk-ins. As others mentioned, it is hard to find - blink and you'll miss it. It's at the very end of a tiny strip mall, and if you use Google maps for navigation it will lead you right there. I walked in and was about 15 minutes early, so I took my time picking a color. It's super important to note that their polish selection is terrible. They have two small racks with plenty of fun colors (OPI and some random brand I've never heard of, as well as one lone bottle of Essie), but if you're looking for something more neutral or natural (which I was), you will not find it here. I honestly should have just left when they clearly did not carry anything remotely what I was looking for, but that's my fault for not doing so. The guy called me over, and I asked him if they had any more colors....because surely I can't be the only person in the Nashville area that just wants something natural looking. He brought back two bottles of pink polish - one was anything but neutral, and the other had glitter in it, and I'm just not a glitter girl. Here's strike two - he asked me if I wanted my nails cut. I was 1,000% crystal clear when I said, "yes. I like the shape they are now, I just need them cut shorter." My nails had been rounded off, so instead of doing that he cut them square. I asked him again to round them out, and he seemed very put out that I asked him to do something that I asked him to do from the beginning. He just filed them some more, and not very well at that. The edges feel very rough and not smooth at all. He also seemed bothered that he had to remove the remaining polish that was still on from my last manicure - and it was basic polish, not gel or anything complicated. It took him all of 30 seconds to remove it, so unless nail salon etiquette is way different in Nashville, I don't see why he was bothered by it. Another weird thing - every nail salon I've ever been to has you pay prior to polish so you don't ruin your nails digging around in your wallet when it's over. Yeah, they don't do that here. When it came time for polish, I told him the colors he brought over weren't what I was looking for. There happened to be some circular thing on our table with nails and sample colors. I pointed to two and asked if they had them and he disappeared and came back empty handed. Another guest had overheard and knew exactly what I was looking for and mentioned a color, but they did not carry it. By that point I was just trying to end this thing quickly since he hadn't listened about the shape of my nails and they clearly didn't have any colors to give someone a natural look. I walked out of there with 3 layers of clear polish and my wallet $18 lighter. Maybe I caught them on a bad day, but I was kind of stunned. If this is the best nail salon in Nashville... yikes. The only positive thing I can say is that he did a great job cleaning up my cuticles. I think it may be easy to assume that I was acting like an entitled tourist, but I swear on all of Nashville's hot chicken that I wasn't. I was super nice about all of this mess, and I felt bad for coming across as picky about color, but I don't think I was asking for anything outrageous. Again, I should have left as I saw their color selection (or lack thereof), so that's on me. But not listening when I requested a specific shape, and leaving them a total mess? Kayla is awesome! I went there yesterday for the first time and she saved me from nail fungus! I went in complaining about my gel peeling and chipping so bad. She said it might be time to change my acrylic. Once she removed my polish she said it was time.... Once my nails were off you could tell my nails had been lifting for some time which is way gross! Anyhow she cleaned my nail beds and I asked about pink and white nails, she offers so many different colors outside of white! I love color and glitter so the idea that she has more to offer is great. I went with traditional pink and white and I've never been so happy about my nails. I love them! This is my new nail place hands down! Visited Kayla's for the first time today. I called this morning for an appointment and promptly was granted one for today. I had a bit of trouble finding the salon as it is stuck in a small strip mall. The salon was clean and inviting. Kayla was a sweetheart and welcomed me with the offer of something to cold to drink. Sonny did my pedicure while Kayla did my manicure at the same time. They both encouraged me to just relax and enjoy it. Sonny did a great leg and foot massage with the deluxe pedi. I did not have an appointment but they accepted me as a walk-in even though they were very busy. My pedicure was great however, my nails, although they looked pretty... They hurt. Why? She completely destroyed my cuticles. Even though I told her I had sensitive cuticles it did not seem to affect her work. It took about 2 weeks for my cuticle sores to heal.
