Great BBQ, wings, burgers, craft beers and more on the lake at Jackson County Park. The staff is great and the place is a great hideaway for lunch and dinner and is a great value. The smoked wings rock, especially the Smokey fried ones, and the Big Chuck burger is my favorite epic burger in the area, and is less than $10. This place does not disappoint at all, have been there twice now and the food is fantastic. I had the brisket stuffed potato, after living in Texas for the last 9 years before moving back home to north Alabama I have had a lot of Texas brisket. The brisket at K C is as good as some the best I had in Texas. They also have great baked beans, fries and onion rings. I went here shortly after returning home after 20 years in service. I got one pound of the brisket, pulled pork, half of a chicken and half a rack of ribs. All were very well done. There flavors were nicely done in seasoning and smoke. Having served all over this country I have had a variety of foods and BBQ. There brisket is great! Brisket is hard to do. Most people over cook it. The did not. It was moist and pulled apart. The pork was the same way. The chicken is awesome too! Pulled away from the bone. The ribs were beautifully done! Just fell off the bone. I had a pint of the hashbrowns casserole. It was amazing! It is worth going after on own! I will be returning for more of there food! read more

Went to town to visit the unclaimed luggage place. Asked a local where was a good place to eat. KC's came highly rated. It was an excellent choice. I ordered the brisket plate and my husband the pulled pork plate. The brisket was tender and tasty! Both hands dripping with yummy tastiness! We both asked for the vinegar slaw and it was fabulous! The white geese begging for food added an interesting atmosphere. Apparently they have been well fed because they honk at everyone for human food. Comical and annoying at the same time if that's possible. I would definitely recommend to any out-of-towner or day-tripper like we were. Kudos KC for a well run operation! read more

If I could give this restaurant less than 1 star I would. My wife ordered a small bbq sandwich that had more meat on it than my pulled chicken plate. The "pulled chicken" was dry left over pieces of chicken that I wouldn't serve to my dog. My side choices were slaw and baked beans. The cabbage was floating in way too much vinegar and the beans had enough salt to cause high blood pressure and dehydration in the same setting. Another epic Scottsboro failure. Well, besides the ketchup bottle exploding on me when I opened it, food was good. I had the catfish. A little gritty, but taste was good. Would've given 4 stars, but the ketchup bottle spewing all over me kept me from doing it. Location and view is great. Beware of the exploding ketchup! read more

We brought friends from NH to Unclaimed Baggage and decided to give KC's a try. We were sure glad we did! The food was fantastic and we got to enjoy the lake and the fabulous live music as well. We tried the barbecue, ribs, stuffed potato, onion rings, mac n cheese and pecan cobbler. All were phenomenal, especially the ribs!!! We would highly recommend KC's to anyone looking for sensational barbecue and a fun atmosphere to enjoy with friends and family! We will definitely make a return trip! read more

Really good Bbq in a nice location on the water. They were out of pork whe. We got there. For those of you who know BBQ when they run out that's actually a good sign you're in the right place. My only regret about eating at KC's is it's more than a hours drive to return for seconds. We live in Chattanooga which has very good BBQ restaurants and KC's rates up with the best. I was with 3 others and we all tried something different, we all raved about it. They meet the standard for fine BBQ in our book and we try a lot of places. This place is pretty good. It seems like mostly locals come here which is a little strange considering the location right next to Goose Pond. The ribs are a bit fatty and the pork is pretty good. We ate at KC's twice in the last week and had great meals both times. The first time we ate inside, but the second time we ate at a table on the deck overlooking the marina as it was a beautiful day with a cooling breeze. I had the large brisket sandwich, and it was so tender and flavorful. My wife had the pulled pork plate which had "almost" more than she could eat on our first visit and she had the small pork sandwich the second time around. I like the restaurant and where it is at the County Park the scenery is really good. As far as the food goes the barbecue and the sides to me are better than average. Great place to eat. Bbq is amazing as is the homemade ranch and desserts! We love the loaded pork fries and pork quesadilla.
