The restrooms are independent of the shop by the parking lot, got the key from the barista. My latte was average, lacked depth but the ambiance & chill vibes was really nice. Food: cookies were great, a little high priced but to be expected for a gourmet cookie Newport. Service: the cashier didn't know any answers for any of our very simple menu questions. Her response was "I don't know". Cashier failed to tell they were out of two of their primary ingredients until we tried to order drinks - out of stock of coconut for their featured yacht latte, and out of stock of vanilla, which I feel a coffee shop should never be out of stock of. The barista making drinks made them quickly. Ambience: nice and quaint and perfect for Newport. We paid $38 for two med size drinks and three cookies. Cold brew was not very good. The girl suggested to me that the mocha would be bitter, so I shouldn't order it half sweet when in fact, I ordered it normal based on her suggestion and it was very sweet. All of the coffees and matcha were amazing! The banana one said limited time but I hope it stays because I plan to go back for that! The coffee buckets are for any of their lattes. The pricing is not bad and everything was delicious. We went on a Sunday afternoon and I was bummed they were all out of cookies. Considering we were a big party and it was our first time there the staff were really patient and friendly. It is a dog friendly cafe as well in case you are wondering. read more

LOVE their unsweetened vanilla cold brew, it's the best!!! I'm not usually a cold brew gal but this is my go to drink Grounded is a cute little coffee shop in a perfect location right on PCH. All the staff are friendly and welcoming! They also had a great pastry selection as well as cookies made in house. Lucky for me they have a vegan chocolate chip cookie and had a vegan banana chocolate chip muffin. They also have 4 non dairy milks: soy, coconut, almond, and oat milk If you're vegan or dairy free they have lots of options! read more

I spotted Grounded Coffee House during a stay in Corona Del Mar. Tried it one morning and have been back every day since. It's a super cute coffee shop with the friendliest baristas. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. The service is quick. They have a huge pastry case featuring cookies baked by a local bakery and a large selection of pastries. They also feature food options like breakfast burritos, sandwiches, and toasts. Aside from coffee drinks, they feature quite a few non coffee drinks. We were fortunate to stop in during the holidays and try their seasonal drinks. I tried the banana pancake latte with banana pudding cold foam and became obsessed that it's the only drink I've ordered there. If you're in Corona Del Mar, definitely try Grounded for your coffee fix. read more

Bright white little beach abode neighbor to the greatest of California's posh places, this Indiana traveler found mild wet February is more severe than Midwest blizzards! A bit funny I had the streets to myself to trot in, order a cherry mocha valentine's latte from the cute barista, and he whipped it right up into a glass. Everything brewed is better in glass. Wish this espresso hug shop was not sixteen hundred miles away but maybe those airline miles cards are not a complete sham after all. Update responding to vendor: Presenting your customers with only 20%, 50% and 100% tip options is obnoxious and entitled, period. It doesn't matter that you also have a custom or no tip option. Anyone who isn't paying close attention is going to get ripped off, and you know that. Also, I don't really want to stand there and ask your staff to remake a better cappuccino. No customer wants to do that. The coffee tasted burnt and there was no microfoam at all, just these giant bubbles all over it. They knew that when they handed it to me. Poor response. Original Review Ordered a soy cappuccino, then saw their tip machine. The lowest tip is 20% , then 50%, then 100% for those who aren't paying attention. Made it easy for me to decide where to get my coffee this morning, although once I got to Grounded and found out that their Chai did not have honey I ended up ordering a hot, oat milk chai latte. This is the best vegan oat milk chai latte I have ever had! Why 4 stars then? There was only one vegan baked good option. I'm sure the chocolate chip cookie would have been good, but with the variety of non-vegan baked goods offered it would have been nice to have more than one vegan treat available. Whenever I'm in town I always visit Grounded Coffee House. The coffee shop has a charm to it that I haven't found elsewhere. Usually coffee shops go for an older vibe, but Grounded seems to put a newer age feel to it. I am a matcha snob and it's a hard thing to find a good matcha latte. Whenever I get my matcha latte here, it stays consistent on taste which tells me that they always follow the same recipe. I see them in the back mashing the matcha through the screen and following the correct process. The staff here seems to always be in a good mood which definitely resonates to the customers experience. The prices here are above average, but that's the price you pay for getting a great drink on the PCH. My rating is a 9/10. read more
