Super cute & cozy coffee shop located next to the beach and is perfect before or after a beach day. We got the bucket cold brew coffee with oat milk and cold foam creamer. It was delicious and we got the chocolate muffin very good as well and not too sweet. The deserts tasted homemade. The service was quick and she helped us decide. The color aesthetic reminds me of a Tiffany blue. I love that they also have seating outdoor as well. The sunset view was beautiful as we were leaving. There is also WiFi and bathrooms so we were able to really relax after being out in the sun. They have a small parking lot behind the building as well as street parking. read more

I will overlook the almost $9/ea price for the Paleo cookie bc it's so delish...but why aren't the cookies in stock?? I came on the weekend morning and they had literally 2 s'mores cookies in their sad, empty baked goods case. They said, we get fresh baked cookies on Mondays and Thursday. I came back on Monday. Again, almost empty bakery case and no paleo cookies. Then I'm told they are out of an ingredient for the paleo cookies. They have no idea when they will have the ingredients or the cookies again. They call themselves the "Cookie Lab", but they have only a half-dozen cookies TOTAL for sale on any given morning. Booooooo! If you want to be a cookie dealer, get some cookie stock. read more

Pretty decent. I would say that for a standard coffee, this place does the job. That said, i don't think i could find myself going out of the way and trying to park here just to get coffee. We got the infamous coffee bucket, which is definitely fun to share with a friend, but just know that none of their drinks come sweetened--or at least our latte didn't come with sweetener, i don't really know.... The lady that took our order also didn't ask at all or let us know that we had to specify the sweetness. We also couldnt really taste anything noticeably "banana-y" in our banana pudding cold foam so that was kind of a let down. It just tasted like milk. Restrooms require a key, you can get it from the barista. They offer WiFi, inside and outdoor seating, and dog friendly treats! I had ordered an iced white chocolate mocha latte with banana pie cold foam. They make their lattes with white chocolate powder instead of syrup. The cold foam was too airy for my and didn't hold up. I spotted Grounded Coffee House during a stay in Corona Del Mar. Tried it one morning and have been back every day since. It's a super cute coffee shop with the friendliest baristas. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. The service is quick. They have a huge pastry case featuring cookies baked by a local bakery and a large selection of pastries. They also feature food options like breakfast burritos, sandwiches, and toasts. Aside from coffee drinks, they feature quite a few non coffee drinks. We were fortunate to stop in during the holidays and try their seasonal drinks. I tried the banana pancake latte with banana pudding cold foam and became obsessed that it's the only drink I've ordered there. I have had this coffee shop pop-up in a lot of conversations as well as on social media recently, so I decided to go give it a try today! I ordered the yacht club latte and cold brew chai. Pros: Parking! I hate street parking on PCH because it's too easy for someone to not be paying attention while driving and hit your car. I've seen it too many times. So I appreciate that they have a little lot behind the shop to park in. 2. The cold brew Chai: says that it comes unsweetened, but the chai seems to be sweet, so it has a perfect balance, which I really appreciated! They also have a dirty chai latte on the menu but the cold brew caught my attention. Cons/Why it just isn't a coffee shop I see myself drawn back to: 1. The yacht club latte is pictured on the menu with the coconut cold foam on top and that's how it is described on the menu as well. So when I ordered on the app, I assumed ordering it as is came as pictured, but I guess I was wrong because when I picked it up the cold foam was not on it and the very kind barista told me you have to order it separately as an addition on the menu. That's fine, but I wish that was clearer with the menu. 2. It's a fairly small shop when you walk in, so when I got there, there was a line to the door and I didn't see any signage about where to pick up mobile orders. So I waited in line until I was almost to the front and then noticed a few cups being put on the bar, so I asked if those were mobile orders and they said yes. I think maybe a sign on the bar or above the bar notating that mobile orders can be picked up there could be really beneficial. All in all, it's a cute coffee shop and I know it's on the newer side so some of these are just growing pains. Location is great if you are in the area! read more

I was there a little after 6pm, and there was no one else in line. I specifically asked for almond milk at the beginning of my order and repeated the request after I paid to make sure the barista heard me. My cup even has "AM" written on it, which I'm guessing means that almond milk was requested. Despite this, I was given whole milk. Bright white little beach abode neighbor to the greatest of California's posh places, this Indiana traveler found mild wet February is more severe than Midwest blizzards! A bit funny I had the streets to myself to trot in, order a cherry mocha valentine's latte from the cute barista, and he whipped it right up into a glass. Everything brewed is better in glass. Made it easy for me to decide where to get my coffee this morning, although once I got to Grounded and found out that their Chai did not have honey I ended up ordering a hot, oat milk chai latte. This is the best vegan oat milk chai latte I have ever had! Why 4 stars then? There was only one vegan baked good option. I'm sure the chocolate chip cookie would have been good, but with the variety of non-vegan baked goods offered it would have been nice to have more than one vegan treat available. Cute interior, every seat was taken inside. Luckily the weather was nice so we found a spacious table outside. The shop was busy, but the employees were running a smooth operation. read more

Update responding to vendor: Presenting your customers with only 20%, 50% and 100% tip options is obnoxious and entitled, period. It doesn't matter that you also have a custom or no tip option. Anyone who isn't paying close attention is going to get ripped off, and you know that. Also, I don't really want to stand there and ask your staff to remake a better cappuccino. No customer wants to do that. The coffee tasted burnt and there was no microfoam at all, just these giant bubbles all over it. They knew that when they handed it to me. Poor response. I ordered the Iced Vanilla Cold Brew and found out it was unsweetened. Their Pretzel Croissant was a decent croissant, but there was nothing Pretzel about it.
