chicken milanesa cemita & cecina adobada cemita
    Angel H.

Good/average food, good service. The only thing is they don't have dine-in, so you just place your order & pick it up thru a little window they have. A little sad that the chicken milanesa didn't have much seasoning to it, but i loved the portion sizing on these! Very filling & yummy with fresh avocado.

Cecina Asada with Chipotle - flavor bomb!
    Nathan G.

Just an absolute flavor bomb - the Cecina Asada is satisfying, filling, not greasy, lots of cheese and avocado and meat, and the sesame bun just works. I had the Chipotle option - the smoke chili flavor worked so well with everything else. A few things - this is now a walk up, window service place (at least when I was there), strictly take out, nowhere to sit down. Also, prices are up since a few years ago - the sandwich was $12 out the door. Totally worth it though - you won't be hungry and these things are craveable.

You'll order out of a perfect little window and you'll receive the best meal of your life. Insane flavor, lots of avocado, and a wide range of delicious salsas Choose between jalapeño or chipotle, you can't go wrong

Humongous sandwiches absolutely filled to the brim with meat/veggies/guacamole/cheese. I really loved the pescado and the steak. Super dank

Chipotle Milanese de res cemita was great from this spot. Quick service too. Note that they do put more queso fresco than quesillo

Ordered a cemita with quesillo. The quesillo was bad I'm very disappointed. Also no indoor sitting too so keep that in mind.

Lovely spot for Mexican food with fun vibes!…read more I came for Sunday brunch/lunch with some friends. I made a reservation through Yelp a couple days beforehand and there was plenty of availability. The restaurant is located right off Ventura Blvd and has an attached parking garage in the basement which can be accessed via the parking lot behind the restaurant. There were plenty of spots available Sunday afternoon when I came. It's a bit hidden, but there is an elevator from the garage to the top level where the restaurant is located as well. We had two babies in strollers with us, so I requested a table with plenty of space nearby for the strollers. They seated us outside on their covered patio, and indeed, we had plenty of space. I peeked inside and there's also a nice lounge area with a beautiful flower wall as well as a proper dining area. When we arrived, there was a live DJ spinning tunes. I assume he's there during brunch hours, as he left around 3 pm when brunch ended. I started with a frozen lime margarita ($12). It was okay; it felt like it was only half frozen as the ice wasn't blended that well. For my main, I got the famous Anejo carne asada and shrimp plate for $40. Yes it was pricy, but the portion size was also huge! I was starving and somehow managed to finish the plate, but it'd be a great dish to share for two people with small appetites. I really enjoyed it as well. I asked for the steak to be cooked rare, and they didn't overcook it. Each bite was super tender and flavorful and paired well with the rice. Everyone else also enjoyed their dish. One friend got the wet chicken burrito for $15 and it was massive! Another got the veggie fajitas with steak added and really enjoyed her dish as well. Solid food all around. I would love to come back on a weekday and try their happy hour! Sipping on $5 margaritas and $6 sangrias sounds like my idea of a great time!

It feels really high end and just lovely. Perfect for a date night or for a celebration. We ordered the molcajete and the fajitas. Both dishes were delicious! Longtime fan, but last night was a real letdown…read more.. I've been dining at Casa Vega for years and have always loved it. Last night, my sister and I brought the whole family -- a party of eight -- for our dad's birthday. Something has changed, and not for the better. And it's not just the cheese -- it was the quality of everything. Across the table, the consensus was immediate: dish after dish tasted off, cheap, wrong. Sharp, stinky cheese that bordered on spoiled, like a bold new direction nobody warned us about. - My Cali Burrito, my all-time favorite, tasted nothing like it used to. Inedible to me. - My partner's refried beans (with the Chili Colorado) came out hard, cold, and dry. - My mom's chiles rellenos were just as bad. Only the chips, salsa, and drinks tasted normal. I even brought half home and tried a bite this morning to be sure we weren't imagining it. We weren't. It's simply not the same. So what happened? Is there a new chef? Is this a deliberate change, or a one-time slip? Because right now I honestly don't know if I should ever come back -- and after years of loving this place, that's hard to write. A restaurant can change its ingredients -- that's fair. But when a family drops serious money on a birthday celebration, a heads-up would go a long way. We got neither that nor a meal worth the occasion. I want to love this place again. Tell me I should.

Our food came to our table I'd say within 10-15 minutes of ordering. I honestly could have shared mine. It was a lot with those potatoes, and even my husband who's a thin guy said one of those tacos would have been sufficient (and he could have helped me with mine...haha). We were just in the area visiting our kids, we come down frequently from NorCal, so we will definitely hit up this place again now that we've found it in the near future.
