Recommended! This is a great place to get your cemita fix. I've had several varieties of their cemitas, and I like pollo adobado the best. Each sandwich comes in a huge sesame seed bun and fresh ingredients. You also have an option to get jalapeños or chipotle spread on your sandwich. I always opt for the jalapeños! It is a hefty sandwich that could be shared with another person if you're a light eater. The cost of the sandwich is on the pricier end and they also charge a fee for credit card transactions. Best cemitas ever. I love stopping here once in a while to grab a cecina adobada cemita. The senoras here are so nice and super kind. The cemitas is a bit more pricier but it is still the same delicious and filling cemita. Make sure you add the quesillo, it is $2 more but it worth it. Just an absolute flavor bomb - the Cecina Asada is satisfying, filling, not greasy, lots of cheese and avocado and meat, and the sesame bun just works. I had the Chipotle option - the smoke chili flavor worked so well with everything else. A few things - this is now a walk up, window service place (at least when I was there), strictly take out, nowhere to sit down. Found this place on yelp. Was going to a nearby hardware store and wanted lunch. Hubs got the breaded pork sandwich. I got the steak. Both sandwiches were enormous. And they were both delicious. Well, this is my kind of torta place. This traditional sandwich in my opinion beats the pants off of most other torta or sandwhich places. To start, the bread is soft on the inside and toasty on the outside and as with most sandwiches, the bread with either make or break the sandwich. You have several choices of meats and styles, even some breakfast choices. They have ham, lamb, pork, chicken, beef, veggie, etc.. They put avocado, cheese, jalapeños. In short, it is delicious. O.M.G. The Cecina Asada. It is amazing. I ordered this to go. It seems like the food is made to order, so I'm very glad that they take orders by phone, and the orders were pretty much ready at the time they stated when I arrived there. They have a very extensive selection of cemeitas. It looks like they have other items too on their menu, but why get anything other the cemitas when it's in the name of the restaurant?? I actually ordered two different sandwiches to share: the Milanesa de res (breaded steak) and the cecina asada. I opted to go fancy with the string cheese for both and chipotle. The milanesa de res was pretty good, but wow, the cecina asada was absolutely amazing. It was a flavor bomb. Everything else about the sandwich is also great -- the bread is great. They are generous enough with the meat and fillings that it reaches the edges of the bread (it's kind of my pet peeve when the sandwich filling is much less than the bread, so you're left with pieces of plain bread around the edges, and especially at the end). I've lived in Mexico but had never had this in my life. Unfortunately. This is a flavor bomb! All the ingredients are super fresh and good quality. I had the Cecina asada the first time and the marinated Cecina the second. Both are very good, but maybe the Cecina was better. I like the jalapeños better than the chipotle sauce, it breaks the grease of the food. You cannot dine there, you pick up your order through a small window. Make sure you get the string cheese. Here is an update. Over the years of ordering from here they've been consistent. Always looks and tastes the same. I always get the same thing head cheese with ham and string cheese (+2.00) it's worth the money. The portion is as big as a medium plate. This little gem is a great find thanks to a friend. I don't think the lady speaks English so I have someone that can communicate in Spanish for me just in case just to get the order right. I will take updated photos when I order again. read more

Wow wow wow, what a hidden gem. I wasn't meaning to eat Mexican food, but stop by to get a water at the corner market and saw it. Authentic Mexican food, the cemita was dead on perfect! Couldn't complain, a good ratio of all the ingredients . Everything tasted fresh. I would highly recommend. Cemitas!? More like a meteor. I thought I've eaten large Cemitas before but damn, homie...I had to throw in the white flag for this one. The place is really small--there are only a handful of tables with a tight standing area--but there's decent parking. FOOD: La De 100%: This 5-meat monstrosity is perfect for sharing or for someone with a huge appetite. I can handle huge portions, but this was ridiculous. If I remember correctly, the 5-meats are ham, milanesa, cecina asada, lomo de puerco, and headcheese. The rest of the sandwich is lettuce, cheese, onions, avocados, jalapenos, sauce, and/or other ingredients you want added to it. You can ask for Chipotle sauce or sliced jalapenos; I opted for the latter to pair with Oaxacan string cheese. My main (and only) complaint is the bread. Like someone mentioned before, it's pretty dry. For that reason, I recommend choosing a sauce with your Cemita to soften the bread a little. I'm definitely ordering this again, but probably when I'm super hungry or want to share with someone else. Keep in mind that it does take about 15 minutes or so for them to make the La De 100%. read more

Pollo al Milanesa with chipotle and string cheese was OUTSTANDING. Such a delicious mix of textures and flavors: crunchy thinly pounded breaded chicken, avocado, onions and string cheese. Definitely a two handed sandwich - huge, flavorful and filling. We took our bag of sandwiches to MacLeod Brewery a few blocks away and enjoyed a fabulous meal with a couple of local Van Nuys beers. Ordered a cemita with quesillo. The quesillo was bad I'm very disappointed. Also no indoor sitting too so keep that in mind.

After so many years of living in LA, I am pretty embarrassed to say that I had never heard of a cemitas. A friend of mine found this place on accident and he had never had one either. From the pictures, they looked like tortas, but he assured me they were much more. I took one of those dreaded tips to the valley just to give one of these glorified tortas a try and he was right, they are pretty damn good. While there I tried three different ones and enjoyed them in this order: barbacoa, lomo de puerco,milanesa de res. The barbacoa was just amazing all around. The meat was so succulent and juicy. One thing to note about this one, since it is marinated, do not take it to go. One of the best parts of these cemitas is the bread. It is toasted and crunchy, like an amazing baguette. Because the barbacoa is marinated, it will make the bread soggy very quickly and that really detracts for an essential part of the sandwich. If you're going to get one to go, get one of the breaded camitas as they are dryer. I would actually say they are too dry and need a good amount of their verde sauce. Luckily the verde here is pretty good. One last thing, if you get both types of cheese, it is an additional $2.50, but it doesn't mention this anywhere. Just get the string cheese, it's better than the regular cheese and you don't have to increase the cost of your sandwich by 50%. They also have breakfast cemitas which I hope to try soon read more
