I was taken to Mezeh by a frequent patron. It is set up like Chipotle with bowls that are filled with your choice of a variety of Mediterranean meats, greens, veggies salads toppings and sauces with basmati rice. My bowl and drink cost just over $15 plus tip. Drink offerings are various juices like berry watermelon, lemongrass berry and acai black tea. They were out of a popular mango juice. We got ours to go but grabbed a table. The meal also comes with warm pita bread. Several offerings have quite a bit of kick if you like spice. The upholstery on the seating could use some very serious deep cleaning. Other than that the industrial vibe is strong and well suited to the type of fare on offer. This eatery does one thing and does it well. It serves bowls of select Mediterranean food enjoyed by vegans, vegetarians, lovers of lamb, beef and chicken, and those who love an optional spicy kick. I started off with a pita stuffed with arugula, spinach, shawarma chicken, cucumbers, eggplant, pickled onions, turkish salad (tastes like a pico de gallo), babba ganoush, and sesame seeds topped with tzatziki and harissa sauces. It started off so sodden that I had little hope of eating it without wearing it had it not been for Hub's donated empty bowl! Hub had chicken shawarma bowl and mixed greens with "assorted options " but the "cilantro lime vinaigrette " combined with "harissa " was the best for my spice loving man. Coming from a place with plenty of Mediterranean food, this place is not it. Lol, their chicken shawarma is very spicy (and always is, as they told me), and they completely forgot four ingredients in my dish. I had to go back and ask what could be done. I did not get any type of warm service; instead, they looked at me like I ate it and then recalled their employees in front of me. They took my bowl (which I used my fork in) and added the ingredients without an apology, and first, that is gross. Just make me a new one or offer a refund or something else. There was also no one in this place for the "ambiance" comment, so I cannot really speak on this, and I did order a pick-up directly from their website. This obviously made it worse, so if you do go to this place, save your money and time by ordering in person. Please do better as I love Mediterranean food. read more

"Great Mediterranean Food in Peninsula Town Center in Hampton" I ordered takeout here at 6pm on a Saturday night using their website. The system is similar to Chipotle or Subway in that you pick the specifics of what you want in your bowl or pita: meats (lamb, chicken, others), vegetables, cheeses, etc., but all with a Mediterranean flair. I had the "chicken chicken" bowl, with chicken shawarma + kebab, brown rice, tzatziki sauce, carrots, corn salsa, pickled turnips, and more. My son had a customized pita pocket with lamb, hummus, yogurt dip, spicy feta, and more. We took our food to go, but there was plenty of seating available (somewhat casual hipster vibe, and had some outdoor seating)-- it was not at all crowded. The customer service when we arrived was excellent. The lady working there was unusually picky (in a good way) about the bread coming out-- throwing out two batches saying, "this could be better" to get us the best-possible bread. She was friendly with us, too, and apologetic about the small delay (which was well-worth-it to get top quality food). The food was EXCELLENT. Really great flavor in both kinds of chicken. It was spicier than I anticipated, but in a deliciously good way. My mom had a bowl just like mine, and she also enjoyed it a great deal. I appreciate the freshness, the attention to quality, and the friendliness. It was also a good value overall -- the bowls, which could easily be 1.5 meals, were only $15. The Food is excellent but for the amount you pay I feel like my bowl was a little skimpy. At places like this I always look at how much food I'm getting or particularly how full my bowl is. Call me greedy but I like my bowls full. This did not give me that, but the food was very flavorful and delicious. All the veggies were fresh and tasted like authentic Greek/Turkish food. Its a similar set up to a chipotle where your going down the line and choosing your ingredients that will either go in a bowl or on a wrap. I loved this place as a dine in, but lately as a yelp delivery option not so much. The past couple of times I've ordered to go or yelp delivery the amount of food has been sub par. For example I don't do rice so I ask for greens as a substitute, and half the time I get a small clump of greens. It's a fast casual style restaurant in the same vein as MOD Pizza, Chipotle and others where they serve Mediterranean food. Reviews on here have been mostly positive. So, my girlfriend and I decided to head out to see what the fuss is about and decided if it lives up to the hype. Once we arrived, you can see a sign requiring wearing face masks due to the COVID pandemic, which we already comply with. Now onto the food. For my order, I picked the 'Build Your Own Bowl' option. I picked steak shawarma (protein), white basmati rice (base) and plenty of veggie options (classic hummus, caramelized eggplant, pickled onions, pickled beets, Turkish salad, roasted corn, Turkish olives, dried cranberries) topped with Pita croutons and Tzatziki sauce along with some Pita chips and a mini Pita pocket. (She picked a pita pocket with seasoned lamb and veggies.) This dish was very delicious. All the veggies fit perfectly with the steak and rice. I can honestly say the best were the dried cranberries and olives. The only slight negative I would have is I would've wished for a little more steak in my bowl, but thanks to the rest of the ingredients, it had me full. All in all, pretty good. I've been stuck in my home isolating because I have COVID. I've ordered from this establishment about five or six times over the last week (strictly following no-contact guidelines, obsessively spraying Lysol at the doorway each time and wearing a high quality mask). I felt that the food choices there were far healthier and tastier if ordering was my only option. On today's and yesterday's deliveries, they missed ingredients and they failed to put any of the sauces I requested both times. The bowl I ordered yesterday was missing pickled onions, pickled beets, pickled carrots and cauliflower. The bowl I ordered today was missing crunchy chickpeas and of course sauces were missing for both. It may seem trivial to some, but when you neglect to include the flavorful sauces that should come with the bowls, it ruins the experience, especially when you are paying so much to have it delivered. I called their store today to see if someone could make it right. A lady took my information, but never called me back or had the missing condiments and ingredients delivered . Went on another Yelp adventure! Tried this place out. I don't know how many times I have drove by and not realized It existence. Thank you Yelpers for highly recommending this Trendy MediterraneanHot Spot. Can I say options!!!! There are sooo many options. And because there were so many ppl in line after me kind of like Chipotle you know everyone is hungry and they want you to hurry up and pick lol I accidentally went during lunch hour I presume. Upon feeling pressured to make so many topping choices. I simply told them to add almost everything. With a side of Falafel ‍‍ The tried something new and got the chicken shwarma bowl on Aruba then added some brown rice and then got only knows what else. Some of the topping that definitely stood out was the cilantro hummus, the babaganoush, caramelized eggplant and Israeli couscous. Loved the addition of fresh mint on top. Fresh herbs on anything heightens flavor in my book. The chicken shwarma was a lot spicier than I expected so be careful if your trying to be a foodie daredevil like me . I ordered the falafel because I was feeling like a fatty. Even after a good attempt to make a dent into my bowl it seem to never diminish in size. Lol. I gave it a good try but when I was done I still had a full bowl worth of leftovers. I paid approx $13.90 for a bowl and side of falafel. If I wasn't sure the first time I ate here, then I'm 100% sure the second (and third) time. Fresh ingredients full of bold and natural flavors, there's such an impressive spread to choose from to personalize your meal - be it the flatbread wrap (seriously amazing - the bread is just SO tasty), the pita pocket or the bowl. If you're going for value for money, then the bowl is your way forward. You can fit a whole lot in that bowl, and if you don't finish it, you can take it home with you for round two. The restaurant itself is very spacious. There's lots of seating and there's even a community style table with beautiful Turkish lights hanging overhead. The white floor tiles contrast the dark wooden shiplapped wall, teamed with dark paint - it really puts the focus on the food and all the vibrant colors to choose from! I like Mezeh and there's not many places you can go lately and feel like you're still making healthy choices. My husband and I were slightly disappointed on our last visit. It was Sunday around 5 and the flavored juices had two flavors completely out. They said they were making more so we settled for a berry one. It wasn't great. When we finished our food, which was delicious, plentiful and fresh, we refilled with the green juice. It was watered down and had no flavor. This hasn't been a problem before so we'll still give it another try in the future. read more

I love this place. I remember the last time I grabbed some Mediterranean carry out from a Mezeh or similar spot on my way home from DC and being sad when it was all gone and I was back to having no similar options in the 757. That is the case no more! I've been visiting here since they opened, and I've never had a bad bowl. I always get a bowl. Sometimes with rice and greens, sometimes just greens. The pros: One bowl is always 2 meals. Or a meal and a snack. Always. The food is always fresh. Always. That goes for meat and veggies. The variety is wonderful. If you like tasting lots of small bites and many different flavors in concert and contrast like I do, this place is heaven. For vegetarians or those who eat a plant based diet with meat as a complement but not the focus, also heaven. The pure variety! The colors! Raw, grilled, and pickled. The time it would take to prepare all of these things at home. The fact that you get to request every. Single. Veggie. for the same. price. My favorite thing that I never get a bowl without: that. spicy. feta. I also always get the Turkish salad and tabbouleh as a veggie base. The spicy hummus is always good. I like the pickled beets but didn't get them this time. I got the picked carrots, roasted corn, and just about everything else. Mix of white and brown rice. I've had the falafel here before but it's not a favorite. I went with the veggie kefta (they've been dry before but were awesome this time). Sadly, as much as I love the chickens I can't stop eating them for long. I had a mini crisis over which type to get - I settled for a sample of the shawarma (spicy) bc I like it and just wanted a taste, but got the kebab (mild) in my bowl bc it has veggies, including fat, juicy cherry tomatoes mixed in. If you do not like herbs, spices, plant based or heavy on the veggie food and/or are unaccustomed to a high fiber diet, this place may twist your tummy. Otherwise, I'll say it again: heaven. For those who have not been here think Chipotle but with Middle Eastern/Mediterranean food. You can pick between a bowl or pita then the fun begins. There are different protein options to include falafel, shredded lamb, beef kofta (meatballs, and chicken shawarma. They are seriously all delicious but if I had to pick a favorite it would be the lamb. You then go down the line and get to add all kinds of yummy salads, veggies, rices, and other toppings to your bowl or wrap. This place has been on my radar for months. The hubs and I finished picking up supplies at target when he suggested Mezeh for lunch. I excitedly agreed and walked on over. Due to Covid, the eatery held a few seating options inside and out. The ordering process reminds me of Chipotle of choosing the meal of having a bowl or wrap before the add-ons. The base is where Mezeh scores extra points. They have 7 options which include kale, arugula, mixed greens, spinach, seasonal grain, white and brown basmati rice. (Can choose up to two) The next step was choosing a protein. I opted for the chicken kebab while the hubs had chicken schwarma. If your a vegan they do offer falaffel:) For those not into chicken there's shredded lamb, lamb kefta, and steak schwarma. You can add one more protein for an additional charge of $1.50. The toppings are extensive! There's about 30 and it's a mix of hummus, dips, chickpeas, corn, salads, pickled veggies, grilled and marinated vegetables with Mediterranean seasoning and etc. I believe Mezeh allows us up to 9-10 choices. I could be wrong, but trust me when I say your bowl will be filling and hefty in weight. As the ordering process is concluding there is a sauce option. It's hard to pick two out of the 9 offered, but I ended with tzatzki and cilantro vinaigrette. The hubs chose spicy mango:) I was thrilled that they give a piece of their freshly baked pita to each bowl ordered. They have an app that is easy to navigate for ordering and collecting points, so I highly recommend downloading that. My bowl base was mixed greens and brown rice. The protein of chicken kebab was the right path to go. The flavorings was unique and bold as they say. It was tender and juicy. I don't recall all my topping choices, but the caramalized eggplant, Turkish salad, Lebanese tabbouleh, pickled onions, and baba ganoush is a must topping;) The food is all natural, GMO free, fresh, and made in house!
