We came here duding lunch was browsing the menu and knew we wanted the Pua To The Poke Nachos. Our server recommended that it was enough for us to eat together since the portion was big. My sister also got a taco with no cilantro but keep the onions but they still added cilantro anyway and took out the onions. Server double checked with us but cook still got it wrong. While it wasn't the cheapest option, it was absolutely worth it. The beef was tender, flavorful, and a total hit at the potluck. I especially appreciated that the meat came in bite-sized pieces--not just big cuts chopped down into tough, chewy chunks. You could tell care went into the preparation. I stood up thinking that maybe I had to order at the register & the main lady told the server to go to table #5, our table. This strip mall shop serves fantastic food! The waitress recommended we try a sampler with ribs, laulau, salmon, rice and pork. It was a ton of food and enough for 2 of us to split plus left overs. Young man that was cashier wouldn't fix the order despite the fact that she wouldve paid the difference and it would've been such an easy fix. I ordered the flautas to go. Asked for corn. If you're craving poke nachos and are in the Pearl ridge area, then this the the place to go to. It's located in the west ridge shopping center lower level. Plenty of parking on top and bottom lots. The poke nachos are really good. The nachos are crispy, the poke is fresh and they give you a huge amount of food. I like the Pua'a to Da Poke nachos which is a half ahi half kalua pig order. Bursting with flavor and delicious. They also have a ton of local food available but I go straight for the poke. There's a small dining area and service is fast and friendly. Located in Westridge shopping center the parking was ample. The establishment is not very large maybe 6 or so tables. The service was good and the staff was very helpful. It's a combination of Hawaiian food and Mexican food. The Hawaiian food was good, if I had to nitpick it would that the squid in the squid luau was a bit chewy. I mean I would have liked my ribs burnt a bit more but that's just my preference. The son had the street tacos and he liked it, no complainants. Have never left disappointed. Gloria, (the proprietor) is a hardworking woman and manages the restaurant. You may wait a while when they are busy for your food at 20 to 40 minutes, but as a small family run restaurant this is normal. I don't mind the wait for food made to order. Just plan ahead and you will be ok! Pro-tip: bring extra water in if you are thirsty. They will serve water, but at request. Typically just one pitcher, as they are under a county water conservation program. Place looks small from the outside, but actually holds a good amount of tables, not wide, but very deep. Came here for one thing... poke nachos! I had seen photos of it and they looked amazing. The price tag was pretty hefty... $25 for shoyu ahi poke nachos. They also had another nachos for $23 that included kalua pig, but that didn't interest me. I arrived on a Sunday around dinner time and there was only one other family inside. They're located in the Westside Shopping Center in Aiea with plenty of shared parking available. The inside is rather small and unassuming. I decided to get my food to go. Service was very friendly and full of aloha. It appeared to be a family-run business. After I placed my order, it only took about 5 minutes before the lady brought out this huge container of nachos in a bag. When I got home and opened the bag, I was bummed to see that most of what were inside the bag were chips. The chips were big and that's why the nachos appeared to be large. After I ate the poke with some of the chips, there was still more than half a container of chips left, which I ended up throwing away. I think the poke to nacho ratio should be more appropriate to include far less chips. The overall taste was just okay. They add a sauce on top along with onions, but there were so many chips on the bottom that it didn't cover it all. I've had better poke nachos elsewhere and certainly much cheaper. With tax and tip it came out to almost $30. Definitely not worth it. read more

Delicious food at a mom and pop shop in Aiea! They have a Mexican menu too and I'd like to try that next time because the poke nachos looked amazing from what I saw at the other table (I always look around to see what other people are eating. Lol.) My friend and I came here for a late lunch, and we got to sample quite a bit of different dishes - Kalua pork, lomi salmon, grilled chicken, short ribs, chicken long rice, and haupia. I enjoyed everything I tried. They were delicious and flavorful. The only thing that I hope they would improve was having the short ribs and chicken a little more tender. And it's SHARABLE! We had the option to choose our style of poke - spicy, kamakaze, and shoyu. We went with the spicy ahi on one half and kalua pig on the other half topped over the homemade nachos. The fish is fresh and melts in your mouth. They go to the fish market every other day. The only downside was that there was not enough nachos. Easily the BEST food on island, a hole in the wall underrated spot. Me and my friend came for the poke nachos and it's honestly the best food we've had since visiting from Maui. We stop by here for brunch after walking around the swap meet. Saw some reviews on yelp and though to try myself. They have lots of good dishes including hawaiin or Mexican style dishes. We got the spicy ahi nachos, seared kamikaze with rice, and spicy ahi with rice. These dishes are large and very well portion, definitely a shared style dish. The poke nachos were my favorite, seems like they used deep fried wonton which was a good idea. It was hard to find we went around and passed it, can easily be missed. We were on our way to Kapolei from Honolulu, and we wanted hawaiian food.. searched on Yelp and this place popped up. I looked at a few reviews and saw some pictures...what got me decided to come here is their combination plates - a little taste of everything i wanted. it was a group of 7 of us (with two kids) and we were not very hungry to begin with since we've been restaurants hopping. We sat down and we ordered two Local Boy Combo. One with haupia and the other with Lomi Salmon. Then we ordered another extra haupia for everyone to try. when the food came out it smelled really good. The short ribs was the star it was tender and juicy, perfectly charred. I also really like the pork lau lau. The kalua pork had a nice smokey flavor but rather mushy for me but the flavor was great! just the texture i wasn't fond of. one thing that we noticed was the Lomi Salmon. we probably only found 2 small pieces of salmon. It looked more like a pico de gallo in my opinion. At first we didn't see any at all and i was about to let the staff know until we dug around and we did find 2 pieces or so. The lomi was not the greatest. Aside from the lomi, everything else was delicious! i would definitely come back here again! read more
