Extremely slow service full of issues. Came in, wasn't very busy inside but the person in charge of taking orders and packing to go orders was overwhelmed enough to suspend taking orders for over 15 minutes. In the time that my order was finally placed (after 15 min of waiting) and received (another 20 minutes later, for poke entrees aka requiring no cooking), the poor woman who ordered before me still hadn't received her chicken quesadilla. The issues with today's service were not completely on the woman at the front, as she had to go back to the kitchen to continuously ask for things to be ready, but the cherry on top was parts of my order being incorrect. At that point, I resigned myself to not finishing my food and going somewhere else capable of delivering on what they promise. Wouldn't recommend anyway, as besides the long wait and order inconsistencies, the food was mediocre. read more

The ahi here was super tasty and fresh--the poke melts right in your mouth as you bite into it. We had poke nachos and poke bowl. By far one of my favorite poke spots I've ever tried. They also offer other items on the menu but I was on a mission lol. Kehau's is also in a a little plaza so parking is easy. Definitely worth the visit. read more

Had this place booked marked for some time and was excited to try some items I've been eyeing. I really wanted to like this place but it fell short for my friends and I. We were so excited to try the poke nachos but when it came out it did not look like the pictures on yelp. Instead the poke was drenched in sauce to the point that you could not taste the chips or fish. The plate itself is a really good size and there is plenty of poke but they overdo it on the sauce I couldn't even eat it. I ended up fishing the poke out and taking that home and leaving the chips and sauce behind. Squid luau, I've been craving this as I always do and this definitely fell short. Lacked in flavor and the flavor that was there is sweetness. Very little chunks of squid I think I had 4 total. Staff was nice and we were seated right away. The restaurant is a bit smaller but there was a pretty consistent flow of people going in and out. Probably would come back to try something different if I was in the area. read more

Service. We went to take our niece to eat Hawaiian food and sat at the table for 15 minutes. I stood up thinking that maybe I had to order at the register & the main lady told the server to go to table #5, our table. I sat down for another 5 minutes and watched as the server was looking like a deer in headlights so I knew she was new. I proceeded to go to the register to order and the lady said she'll be right with us. Another 5 minutes go by and the server, whom wasn't doing much of anything comes to our table. I believe she asked of we were ready to order, it was difficult to understand her. Recognizing that she was new, I asked her if she had an order slip to take our order. She says, oh...yeah, walks away and returns. As I'm in the process of giving her my order, the server looks scared and asks if I could write down our order ourselves. The restaurant is in a little run down area, but the restaurant itself is very clean & has a great atmosphere when you enter. Right when you walk in the staff are incredibly nice & welcoming. They tended to us the whole time, answered our menu questions, kept our water filled, & really showed us an excellent time. The food was absolutely increase. The fish was authentic, fresh, and made to order. The chips for the nachos were even homemade & excellently fried to perfection. Adding the Hawaiian chili pepper water, which they make in house, right before eating a chip, was so good(the staff recommended we do that). The blend of flavors from the sauces was truly incredible & I tip my hat to the team that blended them together for this amazing dish. I didn't bust out a scale, but I trust they were correct when they said it was a pound of tuna. Had I not come straight there after the gym, I would have split 1 serving of the nachos & gotten some sides to share. I've written this review about a day after eating here & I haven't come down with any food borne ailments(proof that the fish was really good). 15/10 recommend going out of your way to eat at Kehau's Kitchen. read more

Excellent friendly personable service from our host that treats you like family, even for the first time! This restaurant is a true gem located in the middle of a the big Westridge mini-mall in Aiea just up the hill from Kamehameha Highway. Crowded parking lot out in front, but worth the drive over for sure! The menu is pretty varied, but we found their Kalua Pork to be an absolute standout with excellent outstanding smoke aroma and fall-apart silky smooth texture! The Kal-bi ribs were terrific too.. still moist after being flame broiled with their sweet savory marinade. The Lomi Salmon was great as the perfect contrast to the delicious meats and perfect moist Japanese rice. We can't wait to come back again here! read more

I was craving Hawaiian food so I decided on Kehaus Kitchen. A friend said it was a good place to eat so I didn't think anything bad would happen. The service was personable and friendly. The food that I ordered which was the smoked meat plate was delicious with a tasty potato salad. The bad part is that they forgot to add in the poi which we paid an extra $5.95 for and discovered when we got home when we opened the Kalua pig plate. If I have to open take out packages to check if it's right then I'll just go to Youngs Fish Market which does really good accurate orders. Despite the service and whatever that was probably the only good thing out of this place. NEVER get the poi. It's definitely refrigerated chunky and sour. Now I don't mind sour poi but the texture was hella nasty, and usually when you eating at a restaurant sour poi is a negative! The laulau was alright. We also ordered chicken long rice, but aunty came out and told us the cooks in the back said it tasted nasty, so we canceled that pretty fast. The Kalua pig was alright. Nothing great. I had my last meal (for now) here during our last day in Oahu before heading to the airport. I had the Surf and Turf Poke Nachos, and it was so good! Portion size is HUGE and price point is affordable. I still dream about this poke nachos every now and then. They use wonton chips as nachos which makes it crispier, tastier, and holds the kalua pork and tuna much better than a regular nacho chip. I chose the kamikaze sauce which was sweet soy glaze + spicy mayo that added more umami to the dish. Tuna was fresh and huge portion and kalua pig was tender and flavorful. My partner had the tuna/kalua pork kamikaze rice bowl which is also delicious and huge portion. And Auntie on counter was very hospitable and friendly. Ambience is casual and clean. I felt hungry and wanted an early lunch before 11 and walked around Westridge Center and saw Kehau's Kitchen open. I was intrigued by the mix of Hawaiian and Mexican food. I decided to try their Hawaiian food this time around. I got the beef stew combo with pulehu chicken, lomi salmon, haupia and rice. The stew was on the watery side but I liked that it wasn't overly salty or sweet which bugs me about beef stew at other places. The lomi salmon was freshly made so I enjoyed the slight crunch of the onions. Once again that wasn't too salty either so that's a plus. The pulehu chicken was wrapped in foil which I thought was odd but it did help retain moisture and it wasn't dry. The haupia was great with good coconut flavor. Service was friendly and maybe 20 people max can sit down inside. I'm curious to try their Mexican food and a friend recommended their poke nachos after finding out I ate there. read more

I'm not feeling well today, so I wanted to eat Chicken Long Rice. I used Uber delivery. I was going to order from Zippys, since Chicken Long Rice was a special today, but you can't order specials through Uber. Their normal delivery cost more too. So, I searched for Long rice on Uber and Kehau's came up. So I ordered. First, I didn't know it was ala carte meaning no rice or a side dish like salad. Second, there's hardly any chicken. The last and worse thing is that there's no taste! Taste meaning it lacked ginger ‍‍‍. There has to be the taste of ginger or it's not Hawaiian or local. Maybe the cook forgot to add some in?? Maybe the cook does not taste his food before serving it? Chef Gordon Ramsay said cooks/chefs should always taste their food. ‍Anyway, I warmed it up and added ginger plus a little shoyu for added taste. I guess Hawaiian food is not their specialty. I see a lot of Mexican food on their menu though. ‍ I could've cooked it myself, but as I said earlier I'm not feeling well. BTW, at least they followed instructions by not added green onions. For most of our visit an adorable boy hustled his way through taking orders, bagging to go orders, and checking people out. I am sure he was relieved when his mom showed up to help with the crowd. They weren't expecting to be soo busy she said. I can see why tho. They serve Hawaiian and Mexican cuisine. I got the kahlua nachos. Holy cow. The dish was bigger than my head. lol. It was $20. But could have easily fed two to three people. I took 2/3's of my plate home. My sister got the rib plate with some meat wrapped in leaves and rice. Best ribs I have had...besides the good ole' pork ribs in the states. It had great grill marks that added a crispy grilled taste. It went so well with the sauce and rice underneath. She also got wet noodles I think. They were bland and I wouldn't order those. They have an extensive menu with something for everyone. It was a great experience and I would definately go back.
