think twice, they refuse to give breakdowns on their bill. And then they leave you hanging.

Big Blue Pools - Pool cleaning service

    Big Blue Pools

Huge thank you to Big Blue Pool and Spas!!!…read more Had a Hayward VSP Pump that was just over 2 years old die on me. Nothing appearing on the LCD control panel, motor not engaging. Reached out to a pool service company and an pool service w/electricians company and both properly assessed the problem was inside the pump's motor. Brought it to a local Hayward place and they performed a similar assessment that I would need to engage Hayward for a warranty service as I had purchased an Expert Line with 3yr warranty. Hayward introduced me to Big Blue Pools. They were quick to call back, quick to set up an appointment, and the service tech arrived on time. In a short amount of time, my pump was back in action, all covered under warranty. Even though it was a warranty repair that I did not cost me anything, the service I received from Big Blue Pool was amazing. Totally recommend and would reach out to them for all my future pool needs.

Avoid Big Blue Pools…read more We used Big Blue Pools for the past four years. In the beginning, the service was great, but over time it steadily deteriorated. This year was the final straw. For the last two years, we repeatedly received T-Cell alarms on our salt system. Rather than properly addressing the issue, they would simply clear the alarm through the app that we gave them access to. When I finally checked it myself, it took less than 15 minutes to open the cell and properly clean it. Apparently that was too much to ask from the company we were paying to maintain our pool. They would also show up to clean the pool while it was actively raining, knowing full well the pool would be dirty again the same day. It felt more like they were checking off a service visit than actually providing a service. Customer service is equally disappointing. The woman who answers the phone is consistently rude, avoids answering direct questions, and repeatedly says she will have someone call back. The call back never comes. The pool opening this year exposed just how careless this company has become. We paid nearly $400 for the opening service. When I got home, I noticed a flow sensor error on the app--an app that Big Blue Pools also has access to. Nobody mentioned it. Nobody informed us there was a problem. Nobody checked it. When I called the next day, I was told that "things break" and I would have to pay to fix it. My question was simple: if the issue existed while your technicians were here, why wasn't I informed? There was no answer. I was told someone would call me back. More than a week later, I am still waiting. When I inspected the equipment myself, I found what can only be described as shockingly poor workmanship. The flow sensor wire was left cut with the cable literally tied into a knot. Not repaired. Not reconnected. Not protected. Just tied into a knot. I also found that the pump's bonding/ground wire was left loose and improperly secured. Rather than being properly attached, it appeared to be looped around and left without a solid connection. Bonding and grounding are critical safety features on pool equipment, and leaving them in this condition is completely unacceptable. This is not just sloppy work--it raises serious concerns about the quality of workmanship and attention to detail being provided. If these are the issues that are visible, it makes me wonder what else is being overlooked. I cannot say with certainty who damaged the wire, but I can say that Big Blue Pools was servicing the equipment, failed to notify us of the issue, left the wire in this condition, and has completely ignored our attempts to get answers. After four years as a customer, I have lost all confidence in this company. The quality of work, customer service, communication, and attention to detail have all declined dramatically. What was once a reliable company has become one that appears more interested in collecting payment than providing quality service. There are plenty of reputable pool companies that actually inspect equipment, communicate with customers, stand behind their work, and take safety seriously. Big Blue Pools does none of those things based on our experience. Save your money. Save your equipment. Save yourself the frustration. Take your business elsewhere.
