Had brunch here on Saturday afternoon. Felicia provided us with great service. I ordered the western omlette and my wife ordered the eggs benedict and asked Felicia to have the eggs medium. She said that is the way they are cooked. The eggs benedict were undercooked and she sent them back. It was quite a while when she got them back and now they were overcooked. My omelette was very thin like it was pressed down with an iron. The potatoes were incredibly tasty and the best part of our brunch. We will not be going back. read more

We went in today with my elderly mother that can not eat large portions. She wanted a half of a waffle and they would not accomodate her. We even had the manager come out and they refused. They do not offer a senior menu and would not let her order off of the children's menu. So basically they wanted her to pay full price for something that she was going to eat half of, since a waffle isn't any good reheated it would have just been a waste. Two of us for brunch at 11:00 on a Wednesday. Restaurant was not crowded, we were seated in a large booth right away! We both ordered the chicken fajita omelet and it was a winner. Arrived earlier than my friend so I was able to add my name to the Sunday morning wait list. The 20 minutes passed quickly and the table was ready by the time she arrived. Our very friendly server was efficient and didn't blink twice from my order of only 2 egg whites with toast. My friend's over easy eggs were cooked perfectly which is an art form. They allowed us to visit and catch up together which was most appreciated. The wait seemed to be shorter by the time we left just after 12pm. The menu has variety of options from waffles to pancakes to omelettes. And lunch has a wide variety of sandwiches. But regardless of what you may chose from their vast menu you will NOT be disappointed. I had the French toast topped with the fresh fruit **Yessss that's a regular order of french toast** GREAT french toast using a delicious bread. This is the true definition of less is more. They do have stuffed French toast if that's your thing. The eggs were cooked to the perfection and the potatoes were crispy and flavorful! The staff is always super pleasant. Always super curtesy! I never had an experience here that was good. The owner might have some stock in Publix or chick-fil-a. LOL! Service is usually that good. Definitely in the top 5 for breakfast spot when it comes to service. Did I mention that it's a great price point? Because we were not in any hurry, I didn't even bother timing how long it took to get the food, but it wasn't long. The coffee kept flowing as we slowly ate, and my omelette was excellent. It came with home fries, lightly seasoned thin slices of potatoes. I added some ketchup and salt, and I was all set. Our server didn't rush us at all while we talked. Not terrible, but don't expect to be blown away. Summary: Keke's Breakfast Cafe is fine if you need something to eat that's a step up from the McDonald's breakfast menu, but don't expect to be blown away. The quality of the food is average at best and the staff aren't the most attentive. Prices are about what you'd expect, but don't expect free refills on some drinks, such as orange juice, and watch out for what will cost you some extra Do Re Mi to substitute! All in all, this restaurant has the potential to be pretty good, but they need to revise certain aspects of their restaurant before I would ever recommend it. Would I Recommend This Restaurant? No The Food: The first disappoint came when I discovered they don't offer orange juice without pulp. I'm not a diva, but I don't enjoy non liquid things in my drink. I ordered the Cheese Steak Omelet, which was severely under seasoned. I'm not typically a person who adds salt or pepper to their food, but in this case, I had to add it to my omelet. The potatoes were cooked perfectly and were tasty on their own. The sausage links that I substituted my toast for was something you'd find in the frozen section at the grocery store and wasn't worth substituting. Service and Staff: I went on a weekday morning and was seated immediately without having to wait. Our waitress was okay, but she never came back to refill our drinks and she failed to mention that the sausage that I substituted for my toast was a dollar up-charge. One dollar may not be a big deal, but it still didn't help make the experience better. The menu is very lengthy and takes a hot minute to read through, but you'll eventually find something that peaks your interest. The restaurant was clean and felt nice and spacious. Final Thoughts: Keke's is an American Breakfast Cafe that has potential, but they have some work to do. Tldr: a bit expensive.missing items on pickup..scrambler bowl different..an omelet in a bowl.. I usually pick up , only a few times per year, and many times something is missing.. this time even though I thought i checked everything something was still missing and I had to go back and ask for it. I probably won't be going back anymore.. it's a bit expensive . The item i usually order has changed . I order the scrambler bowl. They used to chop everything including meat and mix in cheese etc and you actually got a bowl with the items scrambled up and tasty. Now they give you a two egg omelet with cheese on top and meat on the side in a bowl..just get rid of rmthe scrambler bowl and we can order the omelet...also the title reads that the scrambler is over potatoes but the potatoes are optional . You can choose the potatoes or meat.. only one.. if you choose potatoes/home fries you can add meat for $6+ , but if you choose meat you can't add /pay for home fries with this "bowl". Yes you can order them as a separate side order for$6+.. just include the potatoes and let me add a half portion of meat for a little extra.. when you choose meat option in scrambler bowl you get a half portion which is fine.. don't make me choose the potato/home fries option and then pay for a whole portion of meat with the bowl. This place was busy so they must be doing something right however, in my opinion, the food was mediocre for the price and the service was very inconsistent. I typically order eggs Benedict anytime I try a new restaurant that I've never been a few before because if they can get that typically they're pretty good. Well not horrible. English muffin was barely toasted so it was even difficult to cut. My drink ran out and was never refilled or checked on for 15 minutes. for a place. This place is outstanding ! It has quickly become my 2nd favorite breakfast place in the SRQ / Bradenton area and is almost neck n neck with Toasted Mango (if only Keke's offered a crab & shrimp omelette). The 2 things that make Keke's so great are their willingness to make anything on the menu to your liking and how everything always comes out hot. Today I had a craving for a banana and chocolate chip waffle which isn't on the menu. The cheerful waitress explained that I could get the waffle with anything they had in the kitchen. The waffle was soft (never over done) with a huge ring of whipped cream around the border and what appeared to be a whole sliced banana across the top. I've had a number of things here and have been extremely happy with everything except the tuna melt. I mentioned this to the waitress and she explained that their tuna melt is made dry which explained it. Please note that on popular breakfast mornings (especially Sundays) there can be a wait for seating. Give Keke's a try. I am sure you will Love it. read more

Came right back with them and took food orders. The food wait was about average for this type of restaurant. They had a good crowd going but didn't seem overly "busy". The food was decently good. No complaints. Nothing outstanding though either. Just decent good food. The "breakfast salad" was kind of oddly funny but the wife liked it. If you don't have good leadership what do you expect from your employees. I have been coming to this Kekes for a year or so and the staff has changed tremendously. The turnover rate is ridiculous. Savannah had my server in tears because she was attempting to get another tables meal correct. This is unacceptable as a leader. Again, my server was amazing and very knowledgeable about the menu and went above and beyond for us. How about we empower our staff instead of being mean and degrading.
