I called because there was no cold water in the master bathroom or at the outside spigot near that bathroom. The technician spent about an hour performing a full diagnosis but was unable to identify the problem. The bill for the diagnosis was over $300. At the end of the visit, he told me there were only two possible solutions: a partial re-pipe for approximately $8,000 or, preferably, a complete re-pipe of the house for approximately $12,000. After he left, I went outside and discovered that the rear hose spigot had a main shutoff valve attached to it that had been turned off. As soon as I turned the valve back on, the cold water was immediately restored, and the problem was completely resolved. The technician should have checked all outdoor shutoff valves. I was very disappointed that such a basic troubleshooting step was overlooked before recommending repairs costing $8,000 to $12,000.

I called a few places and the prices were definitely less expensive ($1,400-$1,500) however, they could not replace for at least 1-2 days. As hot water is a necessity in my home, I elected to move forward and pay the higher price in order to have the convenience of hot water. I sent Harold a picture of the specifications of the old water heater so he could see what I had. They arrived promptly and had a crew of 4 out to do the job. They were very courteous and did the job quickly. When I went out to look at the hot water heater, I noticed that it looked smaller and when I asked, the technician told me it was a 40 gallon. I told him that I had a 50 gallon, to which he brought me over to the old one and showed me it was in fact a 40 gallon, just built differently which I appreciated. I also noticed that my old heater had copper and brass piping from wall which they connected to from the old water heater and replaced with CPVC and it definitely seems flimsy compared to the other piping. The reason I am giving Harold 4 stars is because I feel that while I had given him verbally the wrong size (50 vs 40 gallon) and he came with the correct size of 40 via the photo I sent, he didn't adjust the price accordingly as it was probably $50 dollars (or more) less than the 50 gallon price. I feel that's an integrity issue of knowing you paid less than what you quoted, but pocketed the difference without passing it along to the buyer, but that is how I look at things and I realize not everyone does. I would give them a 3 on this aspect of it. The technicians were all very friendly, courteous and respectful of the project.

Unfortunately, a few months later, a hose bibb they installed broke off overnight and caused a major flood under my modular home, washing out part of the foundation. They did come out the same day to fix the broken bibb, but the real issue became clear after the water receded: serious damage to the foundation. When I called to speak with the owner to explain what had happened, I was told I wouldn't be able to speak to anyone above a man named Jake. He insisted the hose bibb that broke wasn't their responsibility--claiming it was pre-existing. It wasn't. Their plumber installed it during the replumb. They also told me beforehand that a shut-off valve would be added, but that never happened either. Jake went on to claim the foundation damage was due to 30 years of rain runoff, which simply isn't true. He never came out to inspect the damage himself. I had recently been under the house myself, running a coax cable, and there were no signs of damage at that time. I've since had two licensed foundation contractors assess the issue--both confirmed the damage was not from rain runoff and both are willing to testify to that in court. The repairs are estimated between $8,000 and $15,000, and Matt's Plumbing has refused to take any responsibility or even continue the conversation. I paid for a full replumb to avoid plumbing issues--and instead, I'm left with more problems and major expenses. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Matt's Plumbing.

This seemed excessive, especially since there had been no prior history of such problems. Although the plumber ran water through the system and it initially appeared to flow properly, the issue returned five days later, resulting in flooding when the washing machine and dishwasher were used. When I contacted Alpha Plumbing again, the owner suggested the septic tank might be full--despite the fact that I had recently had it pumped--and proposed a new main line installation for $1,500. This was after I'd already paid $475 for their initial, unsuccessful service. At that point, I decided to handle the issue myself. I located the access cap to the pipe, cleared the clog within ten minutes, and resolved the problem. I provided the owner with photos and an update, but he insisted the issue would likely return. As of today, I have had no further issues. As a homeowner, you expect professionals to offer clear diagnoses and reasonable justification for large, costly repairs. Alpha Plumbing never opened the main line or provided photographic evidence of a blockage. That lack of transparency and follow-through was disappointing.
