Food took forever but what was really alarming was the fact we were sitting near the prep area . I noticed that they brought the food out to everyone else at their tables . Then the old lady brings our food and passes the food over the prep area instead of walking around like she did with every other patron . After mentioning maybe she should bring the food to us instead of passing plates of food to my girlfriend she mumbled something . The point is lady if you don't like your job or we are not white enough don't work in the food business . She was rude and I got bad looks after I spoke up . read more

We were passing through town on vacation and stopped for breakfast. The waitress was very welcoming and chatted with you like she knew you for years. We had breakfast items and they were very good. Was told about this little place stopped by for a bite. I was told their sausage was homemade. It was not bad but not my style. My family has been waiting awhile for Jolly Roger's to open again. After some summer hiccups/staffing needs we were glad to get there today. Obviously new owners and waitstaff but I was glad to see at least one return customer from the previous iteration of this restaurant. I've included the menus in pictures but some main points: - more bang for your buck in terms of the meats! Your two egg breakfast will come with your choice of two sides of meat - my eggs were appropriately cooked (sounds like a minor thing but when you want over eat eggs they need to run!) - the pancakes are huge - home fries are homemade (as in, not from a frozen bag which we ended up seeing a lot w previous owners) which is nice. Could have used more seasoning. - everyone was very friendly Bottom line: if my kids and I are going to head to breakfast in the area we'd go here over IHOP 10/10 times. I would have been a huge weirdo if it took pictures but the bar seating at the diner is classic and super cool. Mostly locals but I'm not one and I wandered in. Usual diner breakfast nothing fancy but damn yummy. No mimosa Sundays here but that's ok, it's not expensive and it fills the tummy !!! Stopped in for breakfast while my car was being serviced across the street. Nice friendly clean place with great service. Had the 3-egg Spinach and Swiss omelet with toast and potatoes. Everything was very good. Not over salted at all like most breakfast chefs do. They leave it to the customer to add salt and pepper. Nice caddy of condiments within reach. Other diners got the pancakes and they were huge and looked great. Coffee is from the local Armeno coffee roasters and is delicious. I like when local eateries use local vendors. They have kept the ambience of this historic Northborough diner and my recommendation would be to stop by and enjoy breakfast or lunch! read more

A classic, Mom & Pop breakfast spot in an unassuming strip mall. While I find it hard for any place like this to really surprise me on the upside, I always love coming to these sorts of spots. Regulars come in and reconnect. The wait staff sweetly calls everyone "honey" or "dear". Coffee. Eggs. Potatoes. Pancakes. It's what people want and it's what this spot serves up. Had the Veggie omelet with potatoes and rye toast. It was all totally passable. And I don't mean that as a criticism. You know what you are going to get here and you'll pay a fair price. I took my daughter to an appointment in Northboro and we decided to get something to eat after. We saw the diner in a strip mall as we drove by and decided to try it. We were greeted immediately by the friendly staff and sat at the counter, she thought that was fun because she is 9 and had never sat at a diner counter before. The place is spotless including the bathroom which is always nice to see. We ordered and the food was made to order and was delicious. She had a pancake and I had an amazing grilled cheese with bacon. Excellent food and service. As we left the three employees all said goodbye and thank you. I believe they were the owners. read more

Just passing through late Sunday morning and found Jolly Roger on Yelp. We got someone's attention behind the counter and we're directed to a table for two. We waited a few minutes for a server and menus and she offered coffee which we got promptly. After another 5-10 minutes we ordered our breakfast. It took over 40 minutes for our food to arrive. While waiting, we did enjoy two cups of Armeno Coffee by a local roaster which was excellent. After a half hour I had to get up and find our server to ask if they had forgotten our order. She was very sweet, checked on the order and apologized for the wait but our patience was wearing thin. Finally, their famous pancakes arrived. They were huge, filling the plate, and pretty good. The Brisket Omelette was OK. Hash browns very good. Don't know if long wait was normal, but it really spoiled things for us. It was a very mixed experience. An obviously popular breakfast location has a lot going for it. There was a line waiting for seats when we left. Hopefully the slow service is not typical. We hope not, but we may not get a chance to try again. read more

Fantastic! I had a corned beef omelette with raisin toast and tea. The omelette was delicious and not greasy. The raisin bread was a step up in quality from most diners and was heartier with a tasty crust. Service was friendly and fast! I loved that it was a child-friendly spot without being super loud. Great high chair in good condition. My mother in law got a blueberry pancake and loved it. I can't wait to come back! read more
