A great ice cream place with something for everyone! 5 stars for variety, you will definitely get overwhelmed here in a good way. Staff was very cheerful and helpful. They are allergy friendly. I mentioned a nut allergy and the staff member offered to open a new carton of ice cream to accommodate it, which I thought was very nice. They have every thing from ice cream to soft serve to slush to lattes. They even have homemade cookies and ice cream cakes. There creations are what makes them special - lattes, sundaes, tornadoes, nachos, stackables, etc. This is the only place where I've ever seen flavored soft serve like coffee, creamsicle, and pistachio etc. aside from the regular chocolate and vanilla. Watermelon dole whip aside from the pineapple. They also section to order from outside around the cornee (very easy to miss) and a small seating area next to it. Their ice cream is a bit too sweet for me, but I did enjoy the affogato which was soft serve and coffee. Their coffee tasted surprisingly good, so I will be back to try some of their very creative lattes. We also tried a stackable, which to me is a huge pre-made sundae. It is definitely a lot for one person and price is steeper at around $9-$12, but worth it if you want to share as there are a lot of creative options. Definitely stop by for a creative sundae, they have so many "stackables" options on boards all around the shop and a variety of toppings and add ons for your ice cream. The prices are on the higher side for a local spot and they appear to serve Gifford's and a variety of ice cream products from different suppliers. The variety is worth the visit if you're in the area but I wouldn't go out of my way. It's a busy shop, expect a line especially on weekends. My main complaint was how long it took to order, I came in with a friend and there were 3 groups in front of us but we waited 25 minutes. Kennedy's is the real deal: a Melrose gem. I took my two sons to Kennedy's for the first time recently, and I can already tell this is going to become a weekly tradition. From the moment we walked in, the vibe was exactly what you want from a neighborhood ice cream shop: friendly, unpretentious, and completely focused on making great ice cream. The star of my visit? The Nutella Stackable. I almost went with something safer, but I'm so glad I didn't. Layer after layer of rich, velvety Nutella ice cream, it was indulgent in the best possible way and tasted like they somehow captured the essence of Nutella and made it even better. My boys were eyeing it the entire time, which is the highest compliment I can give. Speaking of the boys, they were immediately at home here. The staff was patient and cheerful while two excited kids deliberated for what felt like forever, and the portions were generous enough that everyone left completely satisfied. No small feat with those two. Kennedy's has the feel of a place that's been done right: quality ingredients, a welcoming atmosphere, and people behind the counter who clearly take pride in what they're serving. I've been here many times! I am lactose intolerant and there dairy-free ice cream is horrible actually disgusting. I've heard their regular ice cream is good. One time I went there and ordered dairy free peanut butter and they gave me regular coffee ice cream. Luckily I only took a couple of bits before I realized and my allergy isn't life threatening. I used to make several orders here a week, especially their acai bowls. This place is very close to my house and I've been a customer in person and also via delivery. (This is kind of embarrassing, but I've definitely eaten like 40+ acai bowls from here lol) One day, the Uber Eats driver accidentally delivered my order to the wrong address in another town. Mistakes happen, and I just told him it was okay and that I'd tell Uber so I could get a refund. I have no idea what the hell happened, but I got a phone call from a cell number I didn't recognize. They left a loud, awful voicemail yelling at me. I couldn't even listen to the whole thing because it was so abusive, but I think it was at least a minute and thirty seconds long. They said they were the owner of Kennedy's and seemed to think I was lying to Uber that they didn't make my bowl and that I was blaming the restaurant personally. I never did this. Uber was informed it was food accidentally delivered to a house in another town. I'm not sure what miscommunication happened, but it wasn't my fault. If you have any anxiety disorders or PTSD from harassment, or simply don't enjoy being yelled at and accused of what basically amounts to theft (lol), I wouldn't recommend doing any kind of online ordering with this ice cream place in case a mistake happens. This happened a few months ago, but now that it's getting warm out again, I'm really missing their bowls. It's unfortunate that the experience I had was so off-putting that I had to give up my favorite dessert (they made my favorite acai bowls in the area! Other places aren't as good). We've been to Kennedy's three times now (once in the before times and twice since) and it's awesome. When I was pregnant, food was one of my few joys. When I went two days past my due date I desperately needed a brownie sundae in February. Kennedy's came through! My sundae was perfect. Everyone there is so friendly, and the prices are very reasonable. And to top it all off, I went into labor that evening For our second visit, we let our toddler eat ice cream in her car seat. Unfortunately our visit to Kennedy's left much to be desired. Firstly the service was unorganized, which did not make for a good first impression. They had a few customers, but were not very busy. This place is pretty good. Prices are pretty High for an ice cream shop though. The regular ice cream is great but the soft serves is not. I've also had an issue with the service. I have ordered ice cream here and got stiff not near what I ordered. It was my order as we spoke face to face but they weren't listening. Kind of annoying when you pay that much for an ice crash. They don't give certain options on the app and when the store calls you for clarity the kids on the other end of the phone don't know what they're asking you for and cause confusion. I can't say enough about Kennedy's. We have frequented here many times since opening but tonight was truly a game changer and if I wasn't a customer for life before, I certainly am now. We ordered Uber eats delivery from them and was disappointed to see that an item (one of their famous stackables) was missing from the order. Before requesting a refund through Uber, I called them to see if I could possibly go pick up the missing item. The owner would not allow us to come pick up and insisted that she would personally deliver the item to our house the next town over. I have never experienced such incredible customer service. The service is slow, they only have 2 people one on Mobile orders and one for the store. Waited over 1/2 hour for service. Also the price on the board is less then when I paid.
