Finally got a chance to try this place during the HarborMarket on a gorgeous afternoon. I was able to sit outside and enjoy the day with an amazing Angus Cheeseburger and a side of loaded tater tots! The service was amazing and as a first timer was very welcomed and explained how the taps worked. You get a key fob that activates each tap you want to try. The taps have a display that lists ALL the information about the beverage! From wine to IPA stouts beer cocktails they have it all! Price is listed per ounce! So you can try as much as you like! I will have to go back to continue my journey of trying all the drinks. read more

Went there on a Saturday while farmers market was going on. Ordered drinks and mat 1:15 said kitchen wasn't open for another fifteen minutes. Checked at 1:30pm and was told another 15 minutes. Checked at 1:45pm and again told another 15 minutes. At that point we said forget it and was told don't worry about the 2 cokes we ordered since they weren't sure when the kitchen would open. The food was great and the staff was nice. We order some loaded tator tots grabbed a drink and enjoyed the patio for sunset. Very nice view and it was nice to sit outside and take in a beautiful evening before winter comes. The staff is very nice as well. Service was fast and food was delicious. I've been in the area, but never ventured over to the facility. It's a decent size spot with indoor and outdoor seating. Menu isn't huge, but it's enough. We ordered the Sliders and Loaded Tots. Both of which were delicious. Honestly, the sweet potato fries that came with the sliders were my favorite. We had a couple of drinks of tap. I really liked the Ciderboys Pineapple Hula. Service was great. Fast. The place is nicely decorated for fall and nicely lit for eating outside and lay night was perfect for patio seating listening to the live music. I am not a fan of self service restaurants, so I was in the wrong place when I asked for a beer menu, I was told we don't have a menu. When I go out to eat I want to be served by someone who knows beer and food, so I can ask questions and order what suits me. I was just in the wrong place, so I walked out and went to Rustic Roads just a short distance away, Sabrina was very good at tending bar and giving us both beer and food, menu's! read more

My wife and I stopped in the Kenosha Tap House the afternoon of June 19th, 2023, and I'm glad we did. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. When we walked in we were immediately greeted by the manager. I knew it was relatively new, and when I inquired, the manager said they have been open for approximately two weeks. She then informed us the taps are self-serve. She gave us a quick tutorial and then handed each of us a fob. You swipe the fob to activate each tap of your choice. The fob tracks how many ounces you pour, and then you are charged at the end when you close out your bill. It is a fun concept that appears to be gaining popularity. The Kenosha Tap House has 45 taps. I'd guess approximately 30 taps offered beer, with the remainder offering a variety of beverages including: wine, ciders, hard seltzers, and even margaritas. We both enjoyed sampling a variety of drinks. It is nice that you can pour as small (or large) a drink as you want. Most of our pours ranged from 2 to 4 ounces. It is an attractive space with lots of large windows providing nice views of the harbor. They also have some outdoor seating. The staff was friendly, and gladly helped us (as we were new to the concept). This place offers food, but unfortunately, we ate lunch just before stopping-in; so this rating does not take food into consideration. Hopefully we will order some food next time. With most new establishments, there are typically a few bumps to iron out, but we didn't experience any issues here. I'm already looking forward to my next visit! read more

Love love love this place! First time coming here but I been to a couple of self-pour places. They had 60 different kinds of self pour options. Ended up getting a flight to sample different options. They had a wide variety of seltzers, beers, cocktails and wines. Food wise they didn't have many options ,still pretty good. We ended up getting the cheese curds which came with this mango jalapeno dip which was very delicious. We also got the beer battered fish fry which was good. We sat in the patio because it was a beautiful day to just drink and chill. I will for sure be coming back! read more

My mother and I came into this establishment craving fish fry and they did not disappoint with the fried cod dinner. The service was on point and our server was very attentive! I loved how quiet it was, but again it was right before people started coming in and it was earlier on a Friday. I tried the Cod tacos with a mango salsa. I would've probably got the salsa and the other sauce that came with it on the die for future reference so that I can add it to my liking but above all an amazing experience and I would definitely come back to try some of the other favorites on their menu! read more

We were hoping for better food when we stopped for dinner. Cheese curds were over breaded - compared to the cheese inside the curd. Also they were chewy? My husband ordered fish and chips and the fish was akin to grocery store fish sticks. Fries were good though. I ordered the BBQ chicken flat bread and the flavor was good but center of the bread was mush and undercooked. We visited at 6:45 on a Friday night and it was dead. I wish I had something positive to say about this place. Aside from the very few members of the staff that they retained (and have now moved on) there is nothing here that is memorable, or even good. What these new owners did was take a well loved, community focused business and gutted it. Where once was a unique pub-like atmosphere now stands a Panera that serves beer. Did I say "serves beer"? They offer beer on a pour wall at HIDEIOUSLY marked-up prices. Pay by the ounce and your wallet dies by a thousand cuts. Sure the selection is pretty extensive, but each tap is outrageously overpriced. Chicago-pricing for serve yourself beer. Lovely. I've been in this new place where we were essentially the only customers in the joint, only to watch the "bartender" lay her head down on the bar and take a nap. Where the "servers" stood in the corner, trying not to be seen. Where customers walked up to the counter to pay or even have the concept of the place explained to them, only to be blown off by staff on their cell phones, retreating to the kitchen. Now, I know I'm biased. I loved Ashling's. I loved the place. I loved the people. It was an establishment that placed service at the forefront of your visit. The Tap House seems to see service as an afterthought. If you're not walking in from the boat docks with cash in hand, get ready to be ignored. I've not yet found a place in Kenosha to replace Ashling's, but I can tell you one thing, this ain't it. read more

We have been here a few times since it's a cool concept and the food is good. You get a fob to then pour your own beer or wine. The first time we went we had a waiter take our order and bring our food. The second time we went we had to go up to the bar and order food. Not sure what was happening ? Maybe short Staff? Service was great. Food was ok. Pulled pork had no flavor, beef brisket was very fatty. Wings were good but I don't think we got "a pound"... burger was boring and dry. As for the beer... there has to be an allowance for foam as pretty much all pours except the stout were foam heavy. Probably paid $10 for foam. Most likely won't come back. read more

Thank God Ashling on the Lough is gone and something good went in here. That place has the WORST food and was bound to close. What we got is a huge upgrade. Super friendly staff, greeted right when you walk in. Manager explains how the self pour system works and they have hundreds of beers to choose from. If beer isn't your jam, no worries. They have wine and mixed drinks too. Looking forward to seeing what they do with their open empty floorspace because they are still pretty new. Nice outdoor patio seating with a great view of the harbor. Had three or four beers and enjoyed an enormous pretzel with some friends and family and then strolled the marina after. I have been to this location twice nice since they have been opened. I love the location it's away from typical foot traffic but after a few beers you can walk it off around the Marina. Let's get into the Service: You are greeted by the host /waitress. They are not as staffed due to be fairly new and it's a self pour tap house. The first time the Manager gave a wonderful explanation of how everything works. The manager had a wonderful personality and even though she was the only one she made sure to communicate and give great customer service. 8/10 The Food: I experienced the food the 2nd time. I ordered the fish tacos which I found tasty and a great pairing with the brews. My friend had the BBQ Chicken Flatbread. I had been to Kenosha Tap House a few months ago and it was amazing. Food was great. Bathrooms were clean, great experience. But I was very recently back for an event in the back room and had a completely different experience. The room was absolutely filthy. Everywhere you looked there were cobwebs. The lighting was full of cobwebs. The window ledges were full of cobwebs. Even the corners by the floorboards were full of cobwebs. It looked like nobody had been in that space in years. There were so many cobwebs and nobody bothered to clean it up knowing there was a party that was gonna be there, they were literally cows in every single corner and then some. The food came was supposed to be tacos. The meat had absolutely no flavor and the only sides were basic lettuce, tomato and cheese. And why would you use spoons for lettuce and cheese instead of small tongs it was almost impossible with the little spoons that were . The charcuterie board was OK for meat, cheese, and crackers. Although it looked like it had been sitting out for a long time, the cheese was sweating and changing colors. Then there's the bathroom... so gross. Does nobody know how to clean in this facility anymore? A true shame that something that was so good has gone downhill so bad. read more

my fiancé and stopped in to Kenosha Tap Hose less then a week ago. When we walked in the young girl behind the bar did not greet us in any way just hastily asked if we were drinking and she needed our card to put on file. I was immediately turned off by this but i was hungry and wanted to try someplace new. while I was checking out the menu still undecided if I was going to stay and eat, the girl behind the counter asked three more times if we were going to be drinking and that she would need a card. after a few minutes I decided to give this already horrible customer service experience a try and eat here. we ordered our food and was given our fAB for the self pour drinks and self service food pick up then sent on our way. cliff note time. I will not be back, the owner was half drunk attempting to sing karaoke. we did not get a tour like we were supposed to and they had the time as the place was dead. the food was not even close to being worth what we paid for it. Drink prices weren't terrible but it would have benefited us to have the explanation of how it all worked. the positive thing I have to say about this place is they have good French fries. Oh and the pretzel bites are note worthy. also the DJ karaoke guy was pretty friendly and more helpful then the staff was. read more

hate to do this and be long winded over a beer but I just had a really poor experience at the Kenosha Tap House off the lake front. Shortly after walking my Dalmatian last night I stopped in to grab a few beers on my Friday night as my dog has always been welcome there (he's been grandfathered in from the days of Ashling's) and I do enjoy their patio. There weren't many people in there and walked in and handed my card over (which their machine wouldn't read) to get my key fob and went over to pour my first beer. Nothing came out. I then tried another tap a few down and nothing came out. I then told the manager (bigger guy who's always there) that something wasn't working. He was initially nice enough to come over and said this didn't make sense as these kegs were new and instructed me to look at the meter to the right on the screen almost implying that I was doing something wrong. I then tried a third tap and did get a minor gurgle to spit out some foam, but that was it. I went and got the guy again and it then dawned on him the CO2 must be out. Manager disappears. Ten minutes go by and I ask a girl working there what is going on and she tells me the manager is looking for a wrench to swap out the Co2 tank and she then walked away. Another few minutes pass and I ask the regular barkeep if this happens often in which he said no but it's super annoying when it does and he could tell the tank was getting low because the pours were weak. The girl returns and I asked if I was charged for the foam and turns out, there was $0.69 on my. Another five minutes go by and finally the manager comes out from the back and says it should be working now. We're at over 15 minutes now of me just standing there. I politely ask if he would buy me a beer cause of all this and he says "for what?" and was somewhat rude about it in his tone. I wasn't being demanding at all and understand you attract more bees with honey than with vinegar..I was absolutely trying to be cool with the fact I stood there for almost 20 minutes with an empty glass; I hadn't even had one drink since I walked in and gave them my debit card. Not only did I have an empty glass but I got charged for the foam the dead keg gurgled out. I've had similar scenarios come up in life and even Jimmy John's will toss in a few free cookies if they're a little behind on making your sandwich or mess up the order. I just hate the fact that I had to stand around with an empty glass at a bar and nobody seemed to care - I always thought the point of the bar staff was to make sure you DIDN'T have an empty glass. "you really won't buy me a beer after I had to stand here for 15 minutes?" He then got even ruder and said he wasn't going to comp me anything and that "it happens" - I'm sure it does happen, but maybe plan ahead so it doesn't create a bottleneck in the production of filling glasses - your sole responsibility. I guess I'm just disappointed that somewhere I frequent couldn't have cared less about my business. Instead of buying me a beer to entice me to stay and pay over $11 for three more pints, they let a customer walk out the door. And let's be honest, that was negligence on the Tap Room's part - they knew it was Friday night and the tap pressure was getting lower, they don't have a gauge telling them to preemptively swap out the CO2 tanks? That doesn't seem like a professional operation for a place that sells pints off kegs they tap.. and if they did know it was going to fail, they should have explained before paying that it would be a minute (or twenty) Draft beer is pennies on the dollar for a company; it's why so many places push it. I previously served in the restaurant industry for around 15 years and I never would let profit walk out the door, especially when it wasn't coming out of the my pocket directly. Instead of retaining a customer for the owners, this guy straight up lost one. It's a real shame for the location as Ashling's would see my dog and I walk in a pour a Smithwicks without even asking - now I have to beg just to get my beer filled from a tap that won't work. What was once an inviting and warm place I'd even take my parents to when they were in town has turned into cold and corporate greed feels. If you're going to spend your dollar in the downtown Kenosha area, I would hope it wouldn't be with the new place that doesn't care about the local consumer. Maybe hit up somewhere else where the bartender will buy you a round if they're in the wrong. I spend a good chunk of change downtown but I won't be going there after the way I was treated. Again, sorry to sound long-winded but that's not how a place should treat people. It's just so absurd that one guy working there told me he could tell it was getting low, the manager didn't check to see if it needed to be swapped out ahead of time and then when it did, couldn't find the wrench to get it done quickly. I love this new restaurant! We went on a Wednesday night and it wasn't busy. The server explained everything to us and then left us to it. My husband got the Rum and Coke on tap and I got the white sangria-both were amazing! We also ordered food and it was great! We started with cheese curds as a app, they were good and came with a delicious dipping sauce. We both had burgers for dinner, mine was the special with peanut butter aioli and blueberry jam. My wife and I really wanted to like this place. We could look past not being greeted, the cumbersome process of how to order drinks, receiving the wrong wings, which were horrible. We also waited 20 minutes for a pretzel. I guess they've been out of pretzels since the day before, but the server still took our order. I'll spare the long story and all the details with the rude "GM". All I got was attitude like the whole thing was my fault. No apology. No ownership of the mistake. Must be the worst management ever to address their weaknesses and get their business operating to at least acceptable. I suspect they are paying the absolute minimum thinking they will be successful. Lovely place up on the marina!!!! The staff was extremely helpful on Wednesday October 11th, 2023. We were instructed how to use the lanyards equipped with a fob to operate the taps. Don't think it's all beer! There were several seltzers, hard ciders, wines, and premixed cocktails. I stuck with the Malbec after tasting several wines and cocktails. The food is not to be missed! They do have gluten free and keto accommodations. There was a g-f bun and also g-f flatbread. I really want to try the bone-in wings, which had no breading. They have 3 sauces to choose, but I had the server bring me 3 little containers plus the yummy ranch. I have a new favorite: Mango Jalapeño Wings! The apple-jalapeño is very nice, just the right amount of heat. The others had breaded boneless wings (BBQ), the slaw, burger sliders, and pulled pork sliders. The pulled pork nachos are g-f and have plenty of pulled pork on them. It was Wednesday, and Wednesday is Game Night. We chose Sorry out of the games offered. There was Monopoly, Uno, Trouble, card decks, several other games. Our server/ bartender was the epitome of helpful! Thank you for a great time. They are in a great location right by the lake and they have a wonderful beer garden with plenty of seating. The inside is nice and there is ample space and seating. I really wanted to love this place and become a regular, but after a couple visits, I've determined it's not really a place for that, at least for me. There is not a warm and cozy bar to order your drinks at, with a friendly bartender to talk to if you happen to go in there alone. It's more of a place to order some food, eat it and be on your way. I'm not a fan of the go up to the counter and order your food and come back and pick it up when your buzzer goes off concept. When I go out for dinner I like to have table service, but I think this works for lunch. The concept of having beer on the wall to serve yourself is great, especilly for beer lovers, but I like a good cocktail with dinner and although they do have pre-made cocktails on the wall, they were not able to tell me what kind of alcohol was in them, i.e. what brand, and for someone that likes a particular brand that can be a deterrent. The food I've had there has been decent, nothing over the top but nothing to complain about either. And the food prices seem to be in line with other restaurants in the area. One suggestion I have would be to consider real utensils instead of the plastic ones in the little pouch with the napkin fork and knife, those come across as fast foodish and it's difficult to cut things with a plastic knife. read more

First thing first. Yes, Ashling is gone. . But, KTH IS an amazing place to eat and drink at. David was pretty knowledgeable about the brews and did an excellent job on how everything worked. . Menu is adequate. The food was delicious. I had the fish fry (cod). Very good. But the slaw was outstanding!! And tasty fries. My wife had their Mediterranean flat bread. WOW!! That was sooooo good!!! I'm not a big beer drinker anymore, but I could be convinced to be again based on the variety of beers they have. All on tap. Pour as much as you want into your glass. Or as little. And go down the line. You pay by the ounce. Or try the other taps.....wine, sangria, rum/coke, margarita, etc. (Now if they only had an Old Fashioned on tap.....).
