Ken's ice cream parlor is a small business located in Carson, and it fits the ideal local business people tend to think of. It's quaint with a bit of seating (good for waiting around), is full of framed photos on the side that give it a homey touch, and a variety of flavors to choose from. They have your classics, but also have ones that are apparently made in house and differ from the generic Neapolitan flavors. The service here was great! The server seemed like he actually enjoys working here, which is always a delight to see. He was friendly and patient when we wanted to try different flavors. The servings were soooo generous... I got the pecan pralines, but next time I'm aiming for the lemon custard. Prices pretty much match what you see at other ice cream shops. I believe it was $6 for a single scoop with a cone, but I don't remember the exact costs for other sizes. Overall this is a great spot to go if you're looking for some yummy ice cream, solid service, and to support local businesses.

My kids wanted a sweet treat so I decided to look for a place in our area and I found Ken's Ice cream parlor. The shop is located in a shopping center with plenty of parking available. We were greeted as we entered and helped right away. My kids were so excited when they saw the different ice cream flavors. After tasting a few, my youngest decided on the cotton candy flavor and my oldest on the cookies and cream. I got the cherry vanilla and we got a scoop of vanilla to go. The portions are so generous here and the prices are fair! Since we were on our way back home and the location was going to close in the next half an hour, we decided to eat our scoops heading back home but the place itself is a good size for an ice cream shop, it definitely has a cozy feel like ice cream shops I remember as a kid. I will definitely be coming back!

Variety of ice cream selections. We've been going here since our kids were young. Gem of Carson. 10-24-2024

Had the banana split. It was a spiritual experience. That thing was awesome and for $9 it could feed two large and hungry people. Great staff. I felt like family when I was here. Felt like going back in time. Highly recommend Ken's if you love great ice cream and want to enjoy the classics at very reasonable prices.

Black owned business!!! Let's support our people! I love coming here & ordering the large vanilla shake. It tastes very homemade & made with love. This is my favorite ice cream shop & I will continue to return here. Don't forget to give them your number so you can earn points. I have no complaints at all. The ambiance is very chill, the employees are friendly and they all work together well.

Black owned! This is a lovely ice cream parlor that's run by a wonderful family. Every time I've gone, the service has been excellent and the staff makes me feel at home. They have a good number of flavors to choose from. I really like the Maui Waui sherbet (kind of tastes like those big stick popsicles), the rainbow sherbet, and the blueberry cheesecake ice cream. I think a single adult scoop costs $5.50 and a kids scoop costs $4. They also have a variety of other deserts such as cookies and slices of cake. For some reason, this page says they're closed on Sundays but they're actually open on Sunday.

This is your friendly local neighborhood ice cream store that's implanted in the community. It certainly feels that way when you walk in. There's the wall of fame with everyone notable who has visited. You feel the history when you step inside. But besides that they have a lot of good flavors here. You get a little bit of everything here. Great prices too. The staff was really neighborly too. A much needed ice cream break

Super friendly people. I really enjoyed meeting them. And the ice cream was great! I had the chocolate malt crunch in a waffle cone.

My partner and I stopped by Cafe 86 in Carson hoping we had found our next go-to halo-halo spot…read more Unfortunately, authenticity and customer service were both missing from the recipe. Parking was easy, and when we walked in, there was only one occupied table. Three employees were chatting in the back. We were greeted, but it felt more like, "What would you like?" than "Welcome in." No smile, no conversation, no thank you--just a transaction. After taking our order, the employee returned to chatting with coworkers. When our order was ready, our name was called, the halo-halo was placed on the counter, and that was the end of the interaction. As for the halo-halo itself, my partner rated it a 2/10. It was overwhelmingly sweet and overpriced for what we received. We were hoping for layers of flavor and nostalgia but got a sugar rush that could probably power a small city. As a business owner myself, I understand that customer service is one of the biggest drivers of customer retention. Great products can bring people in once, but great service brings them back. Unfortunately, this visit missed the mark on both. The good news? These issues are fixable. A little more warmth, engagement, and hospitality would go a long way. Until then, we'll continue our search for our next favorite halo-halo spot.

I came by recently with some friends after dance class and we were all impressed. I tried the Biscoff Matcha Latte and it was fantastic. You can tell they use high-quality ceremonial grade matcha. The flavor is spot on. It's rare to find that level of quality in a specialty latte, and I'm definitely coming back just for that drink. I'm looking forward to trying their other matcha options next time! Also need to try their desserts.

Boba Bunny, let's chit chat…read more I've been here twice already, but I'm barely coming around to review the place. The first time I tried this place, it was kinda busy, very stuffy inside, unsure if the AC works or not. Service was quick. Coffee was not anything memorable. I just remember whatever I had ordered tasted exactly the same as the chrome studio signature latte. It was the muscovado latte. Which.... I did not like. This second time was also very stuffy inside. Like, I am really unsure if they pay for AC inside or not. This second time that I had visited was more recent where I had ordered the Hawaiian Paradise tea with golden honey boba. I actually really did enjoy this refresher iced tea. It was not half bad and included a slice of orange inside. The honey boba was very soft and easy to chew. I enjoyed how refreshing it was as it was what I was craving. I also had ordered a banana pudding latte that was horrid. Foam was amazing. The actual coffee was so bad. Like, actually. I threw it away. I did not bother to even ask for a remake. It tasted so burnt. Like the most burnt coffee bean taste ever. I do not know what happened there, but it was a very big disappointment. Ordered 2 churros, they were good. Nothing crazy, just something that helped curve the horrible taste from the burnt coffee. You don't interact with the workers, so service I can not comment on. They have a restroom. Parking is in the plaza in front, which is shared with a few other businesses, the major one being Ralph's. You can order on a large screen and tap to pay on it as well. Sad to say, but I really do not see myself coming back as Torrance has plenty of other coffee shops to go to instead.

When scanning the shops for a caffeination boost, I couldn't stop thinking about the "Over Caffeinated Cold Brew Float" I saw advertised at Moom Maam. So intriguing! I circled back and ordered the indulgent morning treat, slightly skeptical of such a mix. I'm happy to report though that yes, it was a monstrosity to have first thing in the morning but I'd do it again in a second. You get to pick what flavor gelato is in the coffee and I went with chocolate to which they replied, great choice! I agree, it was such a good mix with the cold coffee brew. The gelato was so creamy with amazing flavor, I can't wait to come back and try more off their menu!

Luckily this was one of the stands that had good reviews, so I gave it a shot. Between the language barrier and my excitement for dessert, I somehow ended up ordering more than I planned. The ice cream was good and the Asian-inspired flavors were definitely different from the usual. It didn't completely blow my socks off, but it was a solid treat. I kept thinking a little syrup or extra topping would've taken it up another level. Overall, glad I tried it. Half the fun of these food events is randomly discovering stuff you normally wouldn't eat anyway. I'd probably check out their Torrance brick-and-mortar location sometime and give them another shot.
