I called today for the 100,000 mile maintenance. I'm on a tight budget so I like to anticipate costs. J.C. Told me what to expect ~ what is needed as well as what might be needed. So helpful, kind and really spent the time to explain everything to me. Regular maintenance is never a big shocker. I bought a 2016 Rav4 certified preowned with 12k miles on it. After I bought it I did a Carfax because I didn't get one because the sales man pushed that the 160 point inspection was great. Guess what ? It was wrecked. I did a maintenance record check and the tires where cupped before It was sold. I called the service dept. and asked .How could they let it go out being certified. They said I had to ask sales manager. The sales manager told me cupped tires are normal on all car tires. So I took it Craig Toyota to see what us really going on with it because Kerry Toyota sales junk and hopes you keep bringing it back to make more from you. Will never ever buy a car from Kerry Toyota again. Purchased a lifetime power train warranty for our RAV-4 for little over $1,000. When the transmission went out they wanted $4,300 to fix it. They cancelled the warranty because we missed a tire rotation which was supposed to be done when they did an oil change but ran out of time and we didn't take it back within the 5000 miles of last rotation. Service manager said I loose sleep every time this happens. I said BS you probably get a bonus. read more

HORRIBLE FIRST CAR BUYING EXPERIENCE!!! Bought my first brand new car and I couldn't be more disappointed with how we were treated and their customer service. Cornelious Gray "cj" was our sales person and he was the worst. Avoid him if he tries to help you. Not only did he make the process a lot harder then it needed it to be but he was rude over the phone while I was handling the transaction from California. I felt like he just wanted to get our transaction over with and not really try to help me. If your not happy about your job don't take it out on your customers just saying. They are very vague when the explain things to you and their customer service will tell you they will call you back and never do. I honestly wish I never gave my money to them. Toyota is such a good brand and we love the truck but the service is honestly the worst I have dealt with. If your looking for a headache then Kerry Toyota is the right place. read more

CAN YOU SAY RIP-OFF? Sure... I knew you could. I own a 1996 Toyota Camry and recently my ignition locked-up. My auto repair shop recommended I try a Toyota dealer where I could get a factory key made off the VIN number, and pay $10 instead of $200 for a tow and a new ignition. I went to the Kerry Toyota Service Center on Hopeful Church Road. I spoke to an older bearded man at the Service Desk. I thought it weird that the Service Desk was enclosed like a bank-teller window at a drive-through, but I put those thoughts aside and explained my situation. I showed the older man the two keys I have for the Toyota; one for the doors, and one for the ignition. He looked at both keys carefully while I explained that the door key worked fine, but the ignition key would not turn the ignition anymore. I gave him all of my information (license and registration, title and proof of insurance). He used the VIN number to cut a key for the ignition. 45 minutes later and $10.59 lighter I was out of there. I had to run an errand a bit further north. On a whim, I looked at the ignition key Kerry Toyota just delivered to me and noticed it looked like a match to the door key, NOT the ignition key. I stopped back at the Kerry Toyota Service Center and showed the cashier the key. I compared the new-made key to the door key and then the ignition key. She agreed the new-made key looked like the door and not the ignition key and asked that I speak to the older bearded Service Rep again. I showed him all three keys and explained that the new-made key looked like the door key and NOT the ignition key. I suggested that perhaps they cut the wrong key. The older bearded gentleman looked at me and explained that Toyota only makes ONE key for their cars which fits both the doors AND the ignition. "One key - even in 1996?" I ask. "Ever since Toyota started making cars," he replied. The older bearded service rep then showed me that my ignition key says 'For Toyota Models' which meant the ignition & key was not original to the car This is the first Toyota I've owned, but I am not the original owner. I had no idea this car had only one key for both door and ignition, but this service rep did. He could have told me that when I was explaining the problem in the first place. Did he? No. Wouldn't have mentioned it if I hadn't stopped back to ask. It's not the $10.59 or the loss of my time. It's the fact... the principle that the Service Rep at Kerry Toyota would rather make a buck than tell me up front the ignition & key I have wasn't original; that cutting a new key off the VIN probably would not work. Please don't go here. Just my opinion, but if the Service Rep is willing to screw you over for $10.59, think how the dealership might screw you over on a $20K-$50K auto. read more

I purchased a 2012 Toyota Tundra 5.7 Platinum Edition for over 56k from this dealership. When I ordered the truck I had them move over the bed extender from my old one (same truck just a 2007) but somehow they lost mine. In an attempt to replace that they have put one on my truck that does not even fit. I also ordered a bed liner to be installed and when it arrived we found out they ordered the wrong one. So we had to make another 30 min trip back to Kerry Toyota again to have the correct one installed. Once the "correct" one was installed there were rough edges where they had to cut it to make it fit. Does not look like the correct one to me. My son has even cut his arm on these rough edges when climbing up the back to help with groceries. On 10/11/12 I went in for my 5k maintenence which is topping off fluids, diagnostics, and rotating tires. This took over 1 hour 15 minutes because everyone in the building was watching the reds game and standing around. At Dry Ridge Toyota this service only takes 15 min. Also when you go to Kerry Toyota don't expect a car wash with your service. I was told when I purchased the vehicle the reason they could not wash it for me was because their car wash was broken. Yesterday they told me they don't even have a car wash. The floor sales manager told me that my toyota rewards included car washes at in and out car wash. When I asked where one of those car washes is he looked puzzled and said "I don't know". Great now i get car washes at a non-existent car wash! The chances of me ever purchasing or servicing a vehicle at Kerry Toyota in Florence Kentucky are also non-existent just like their customer service and their car wash affiliate. read more

I drove two hours (four hours roundtrip) to buy a Rav4 from Aaron Moore at Kerry Toyota and would gladly make the drive again for the AWESOME experience. I never knew buying a car could be such a smooth process. No cheesy sales tactics, no high pressure... Aaron made it SUPER easy to buy a car. I called Aaron the day before I went to Kerry and gave him a very vague explanation of what I was looking for. He was very patient with me and helped me figure out what I could afford and email a couple different options with me within a few minutes of hanging up the phone. He didn't have photos of one of the vehicles he was suggesting, so he went out into the cold January day, took photos and sent them to me from his phone. WOW! I was so impressed that he was that quick and attentive. Next time my husband and I are shopping for a new car, truck or SUV, we will be paying another visit to Aaron! Service is stellar and the staff is extremely friendly. They have a shuttle van that will drive you to and from the dealer if you need such a service. Their hours are also very, very reasonable. I usually drop my car off the moment they open at 7:30 (though they do allow early-bird drop off) for scheduled maintenance and it is ready in about 2 hours. One of the elements of Kerry Toyota that I love is their e-mail and text message reminders. If I ever forget that I have an appointment coming up, I need not worry because I will receive a text and/or e-mail (depending on what I've set as my personal preference) days before. As far as their customer service, I can't say anything bad about it! They're always extremely friendly, willing to answer any questions, and they always follow up with me a day or two after my appointment to make sure everything is still working okay and if I have any questions. I not only get my car serviced here, but I also purchased my Toyota from Kerry Toyota two years ago. When I go in for general maintenance, all is great. When I go in for a specific problem, all I do is spend $1,000 with nothing getting fixed. I went to Joseph Toyota and repairs were great (at a high cost), even though I was told continual "sound" were dry rotted tires (even at rest). Went to a Big O in Kentucky, sound was a rusted out muffler heat shield, fixed with $22. Perfect. read more

What a great experience! I just recently purchased a new 2014 Toyota Corolla and it was one of the most wonderful experiences ever. My fiance went to this dealership to test drive a vehicle that we were thinking about buying. Chris Mitchell told her she could drive the car and bring it to me so I could drive it, and that she could "learn to love it". He wanted her to leave her car there so they could run the numbers on it and give us a price for a trade in value. He took her phone number and information and they never gave her any time frame as to when she should return with the car. We drove the vehicle for awhile and decided that we were going to purchase it, so we decided to return to the lot the next morning and make the trade. About 11PM I got a call from my work saying the police was there looking for my Fiance and that they are coming after her for stealing a car. I was obviously shocked, and I rushed home. When I got there the police were there questioning my fiance! The dealership said that they "lost" all her contact information and that they had no way to reach us. The officer called the dealership and told him the situation and the manager STILL tried to make us a deal on the car!!!!! We told him there is no way we will be doing any business with him because he called the police on us for doing exactly what they asked us to do!!!! Chris Mitchell told my fiance "we aren't going anywhere, just bring it back when you are ready to make a deal". I am still shocked that this situation happened. We were embarrassed at our home and at work by the police showing up and asking questions about us! If you are thinking about buying a car from this lot make sure you don't test drive one, or they may say you stole it!!! (This is the text of the Google review I just posted) In the past, my husband has purchased vehicles from Kerry Toyota, and he and I both have been very happy getting our vehicles serviced at the service center. This review today is about a recent experience we had while car shopping at Kerry Toyota. We had the whole stereotypical experience: 2+ hours sitting in the sales center being subjected to the hard sell; when we said that maybe it was premature of us to consider trading our RAV4 for a Highlander, we were treated to several conversations with the manager trying to convince us to trade in a RAV4 for another RAV4; they held our keys hostage so they could assess the value of our car as a trade-in (I kept a close eye on our car, no one came out to look at it); we had to *demand* our keys back. All of this took 2.5 hours, while our 6 year old got increasingly tetchy. We left, unhappy with the experience, and chalked it up to low car sales overall, and a competitive sales environment for the salesmen on the floor. Everyone has suffered with coronavirus, right? A couple of days ago I took a look at my credit monitoring software. Guess what? I have 4 unauthorized hard credit pulls originating from that single visit to Kerry Toyota (and that was the only car dealer we visited). Only 1 of the banks has agreed to go ahead and remove the credit inquiry; the others have advised me to dispute the credit inquiries with the 3 credit agencies. Lovely. Those 2.5 hours on July 3 have grown to however many hours will be involved in disputes with Experian, TransUnion and Equifax. Thanks, Kerry Toyota; you've caused me a lot of work. read more

While waiting i asked the man at the desk for a list of his used car inventory so i could check out prices. he laughed in my face and said there is no way to keep track of 400 cars...if they are on the internet then there has to be a list, has to be. finally the man i was working with on the phone came and pointed in the directions of cars within my budget. i stopped to peek at a tundra and he came out and made a fool out of me yelling thats not within your budget... well clearly. they also hit my credit after assuring me that by doing the online form i would be able to see how much i was approved for. that is false advertisement. horrible experience. this is why i didn't buy a car from them 9 years ago. some things never change read more

Once again its tax time! I was anticipating a tax refund check and looking to buy a truck. I work at a local dealership so knew exactly what to look for and what I wanted. I drive by Kerry Toyota's used car lot and saw a truck that looked nice and fitted every thing I was looking for. I was so excited. I asked a salesperson to get me a price on the vehicle. He refused, so I decided to use my smart phone to go online and find out the price, $12,500. I thought to myself, great! I've found the truck I've been searching for all this time. I asked the salesperson if I could test drive the truck, he was reluctant to get the keys but he did. As a mechanic that works on Chevy Silverados every day, I started looking the vehicle over. This is where my excitement turned to anger. I noticed some lights on the exterior were inoperative, as well as the oil pressure gauge. The transmission cooler lines were all leaking, brakes were spongy, the engine was sluggish, and the parking brake did not hold the vehicle. Easily repairable, but around three thousand dollars of parts and labor to fix. When I returned to the lot, I was asked what I thought about the truck. I calmly told the salesperson about my concerns. The salesperson then said , "That's odd," and told the sales manger. The sales manager then asked me how many miles are on the vehicle. I said 113k miles. He interrupted me, and said well that's just normal wear and tear. We don't do a really thorough inspection on vehicles with over 100k miles. I persisted to tell him that the parking brake not holding is a safety issue. He said I didn't know what I was talking about! I was appalled. Me, a GM certified technician of 7 years! I don't know what I talking about. I was Yelp had a zero star rating just for these guys. read more

Don't waste your time. I flew about 700 miles with a connection to Cincinatti after being assured nothing was wrong with a vehicle I was looking at online. Even asked for pictures and the pictures I saw never showed what was wrong with the vehicle. The airbag was covered up and taped, also the sunroof did not work. Again, after being assured on the phone the vehicle was in pristine condition and everything worked! When I denied the sale since they would not fix the sunroof or tell me why the airbag was covered up, I got the run around about how he came in on his day off and he was their for me! Well, guess what, I flew over 700 miles with my connection to get the vehicle that was in "pristine" condition on my day off, to turn right back around and get back on another plane to come back home. The sales guy again asked me, "so you don't want it?" "No!!! You misrepresented your product and hid the fact of flaws I told you to tell me about." "Well if you don't want it then I have another customer coming in!" "Ok that's fine! I have an uber that will be here in 4 min!" Then he had the nerve to drive it around front and say, "it's ready for you to drive home!" "No man, I'm good!" So 1400 miles flown to pick up a car that had I known these problems in the first place, I would not have wasted my time or my sales guys time coming in on his day off. In response to her comment below....u might want to go look at the White 4Runner Sport on your used lot!!! It is covered up with some sort of material and has black electrical tape around it! They forgot to give me the key to my locking lug-nut that the Tacoma came with so I am unable to take my wheels off. When I went to the service shop today I was instructed how I can purchase a new one. I would believe that they would just give me one but whatever. I then asked could they at least remove the locking lug-nut and replace it with a regular lug nut and it would take a while because "Everyone is at lunch". The manager was completely rude and apparently never heard of customer service or staggered breaks. I will never buy another car from this dealership and am just paying firestone to take care of my car vs having to go back and deal with this little guy. It was ironic another customer was at the dealership complaining about another issue at the same time. Must be a common theme. Update: Firestone isn't able to take the lug nut off either. read more

Absolutely worst Toyota dealership I've ever been to!! Took at least a half hour to get someone to talk to me and once they finally did I witness another employee physically assault a costumer! My son was so upset by what he witnesses there that it was almost impossible to get him to sleep that night. My experience was vastly different. I came in knowing exactly the new car I wanted. I won't let them waste my time playing the dinosaur sales games, other more modern dealers make it so I don't have to. So when asked what other dealers were quoting, I told him I don't do business that way, give me your best price. He refused, twice, so I said we're done and walked away. He stopped me to get Mr. Sales Manager (starting to sound familiar?) But he was just wasting my time because he also refused to give me a price, twice. So again, I got up and walked away, stating I don't do business that way. He chased me out the door and told me I was rude, but he had coupons for people who weren't rude to him!!! I have to admit calling a guy ready to drop over $20,000 for a car names is a unique sales tactic. I felt the need to point out HE was rude for wasting my time by not giving me a price - like every other dealer in town did - and not letting me walk away the first time when he knew he wasn't going to . But again, he asked me to give him a price, any price. I told him $20,000 and said I'd never get one for that, try again !!. OK then give me the price I CAN get one for. Ha Ha, what a [insert stereotypical slang for this type of car sales guy here]. I'm afraid I really offended his virgin car sales guy ears when I used the cra* word referring to his sales tactics. He never did give me a price. As for service, while they're clean and friendly, their shop rates are very high, and they charge minimum $90 + shop supplies rates for diagnosis, even if it only takes them 15 minutes to do the diagnosis. Gotta pay for those brand new service bays somehow They're probably fine for warranty work. ps - I bought my car from another dealer in 10 minutes over the phone. Bought 2 new toyota in 2006 so in September my son was looking for a car so I took him over to shop. We found a 2014 chevy cruze 30,000 miles. The used car salesman was horrible my son was trying to get his first car loan so the sales man filled out the paper work for loan applications and wanted my son to sign paper that he would agree to buy the car before they would tell him what interest rate it was. Very high pressure, it took 9 week to get paper work so I could the tags at license branch. It took a about 10 phone calls, then they had a 100 dollar refer a friend deal it took 2 months and another 10 phone calls to finally get the check. I will be in the market soon for a new car for wife I will never buy there again read more

Tactics they used on us: #1 There was an "internet price" and a "lot price" for EVERY car we saw. The internet price is THOUSANDS LESS. It's not that low because the car has been sitting too long. It's closer to the real price you can get at a dealership. #2 The dealer asked his buddy to put someone else in the car while we were there to make it seem like we had competition. This was a lie. We saw him asking the other dealer as well as thanking him several times. #3 Acted like he could be our buddy and get us a few hundred more off. Brings in his boss who says they just can't go any lower. #4 Showed us a car that was worth significantly less but had the same sticker (lot) price. It didn't at all have the features we were looking for. He kept us there too long to break down our decision making skills through exhaustion. Bottom line: He didn't care if the car was right for me. It makes me dizzy and gives me headaches. I'm stuck driving the baby in our old car (with the terrible safety rating) while my husband drives this one. I usually go to the Toyota Fairfield but since I was in the area in Florence I went there because my car needed an oil change. I didn't have an appointment but they were able to squeeze me in. They also provide a shuttle to take me somewhere in the vacinity while I waited. I took the shuttle to a cafe so I could do my homework and grab a coffee. A really nice place and only took them an hour instead of 2! read more

So this is reviewing all of my experiences with Toyota. I bought my 2012 Camry new here way back when. I knew the car I wanted, color I wanted, and it was an easy process. I went through Toyota Financial for the loan. I'm happy to say that earlier this year, the entire car was fully paid off. Since 2012, I've moved a few times (Charlotte, NC and now Chicago, IL) and I make sure to take my car in to this location every time I'm visiting friends/family. Why? Because in my experience, they're straight with me. Also the price is significantly better than the Chicagoland area dealers. I brought in my Camry for my 70k maintenance recently. I had an additional issue that I needed to take care of - one of the bolts that holds the license plate on the back was rusted and the bolt snapped off (courtesy of the Chicago area Toyota completely botching a job). Chicago Toyota said they could fix it, at a cost of about $160. $160 for a bolt. Sure, they have to redrill, clean it out, etc. Still though, $160? So I told them to forget it and drove with an awful looking plate for a bit. So I ask Kerry to try and fix it and ask for the price. They tell me, and it's waaaay less than Chicago Toyota. We did run into a small issue though - I tried to play amateur surgeon on the bolt and happened to snap a drill bit off while trying to fix it on my own. Once Kerry found out about that, they said the estimate would be higher (between 90-140, which is still less) and take up to 2 hours. Less than ideal, but my mistake made an easy job much harder. I tell them to not worry about it today and I'll schedule an appointment for tomorrow. I keep waiting in the service area and the gentleman that is working with me comes to speak with another customer, but updates me that the technicians were able to remove the drill bit and go back to the original estimate. Point being, they could have told me anything. They could have stopped trying to get that drill bit out today and had me come I tomorrow and charged more for it. But they didn't. I bought a 2016 Toyota Avalon from another dealer in Florence. When the engine warning light went on, I took it to Kerry Toyota because it's close. I got the first appointment of the day (7 am). I got there at 6:45 and was the first car there. Time is Important to me. The shuttle took me home. I live 8 minutes away. At 8:30 I called. "Oh yeah, it's ready. False light. No problem. We'll send the shuttle." I waited. After 25 minutes, I called again. "Oh, we'll call the shuttle driver." He called 15 minutes later, and said he was on the other side of Florence! He showed up at 9:30 - 2 1/2 hours of waiting for a false light. I'll never go back. My dealer has free loaners - Kerry has none!
