As a slip holder I was disgruntled by the closing of the previous restaurant (Mangos) with no agreement in place to open something new. It took almost two years for Ketch 22 to open. But that's on Herrington Harbor not Ketch 22. I had a drink when they first opened but had not tried the food yet. So I decided to give it a try Friday night. I had heard mixed reviews from other slip holders who claimed they received poor service but I must say I was not dissapointed. Mysat at the bar and our bartender Alexa was very attentive. She was very friendly and able to answer all our questions about the menu. None of us were real hungry so we settled on a few items and shared them. We had the Tomato Salad that was excellent. The Cheeseburger, Sticky Wings and the Gazpacho were very good also. They had a nice selection of wine and beer. Their menu had sone great looking entree's that we'll have to come back and sample. This is a nice place for a good meal with great service and a friendly atmosphere. I got a FB post advertising Atlantic Cod, Beer Battered with fries. Got there an hour later and they were sold out. Totally ridiculous. And no one really cared. I wrote on the FB that the special lasted one hour and they deleted the post immediately. So hopefully no one else wasted their time. Go to Neptune's or Happy Harbor for Fish & Chips. No excuses and believe it or not comparable food. read more

I made a reservation at this place because I had heard that the crab dip was amazing and I wanted to try it. We get there and there's roughly 15 people (like 4 parties or so) waiting to check in at the hostess stand. It took us 10 minutes to even get to the front of the line because the three hostesses could not figure out the iPad which they were seating people off of, I used to be a hostess and I would always make sure to seat people if I had a line that long and then figure it out after. Then, we sit down and our table is dirty so we wiped it off with a napkin, and then tried to order a crab dip, which is why we were there. They were out of crab dip at 6:30. So we ordered other stuff, whatever no big deal, but they didn't really have an appealing appetizer selection besides that.The food is pretty mediocre for the prices, which I guess can be expected at a pool restaurant in a small harbor. They forgot to add things that were on the menu to items we ordered, such as missing toppings on our tacos etc, and our drinks took forever from the bar so that was a bit irritating. 3 stars because our server was really nice and accommodating, but the wait to get in with a reservation and the wait for our drinks was irritating, plus the dirty table. Overall, I probably would go back but maybe for lunch because I want the crab dip, haha. read more

Came in on a Monday night. Were told 45 to hour long wait. Okay, cool. After an hour we checked back in. Hostess said another 15 to 30. We decided to order carry out instead. No big deal considering we've been before and enjoyed the food. Ugh. We got the wings - salty as hell. Got the tuna tacos - way too much sauce to even taste the tuna. Last thing was the crab dip - lacked crab and again TOO salty. I've been here for brunch and it was great. This is the second time for dinner. 1/18/19. My wife and I made reservations to celebrate her birthday and wanted to try this restaurant for the first time. It did not go well from the beginning. We arrived dressed nicely with a reservation and the hostess asked if we would mind eating at the bar...really? Once we were seated the service was nonexistent. The table next to us finished their meal, the table was cleaned, a new group seated, ordered their food and recieved their meal before we did. Our appetizer was served cold and we waited almost 20 minutes for a drink. It did appear that there was a robust bar crowd but if you are looking for a quality dining experience you may want to consider another location. read more

Beautiful views and good drinks. However, the food is nothing more than overpriced bar food. I expected a menu with a little more variety. Inside is loud and the bar crowd can take over the atmosphere of the restaurant. read more

Ketch 22 replaced an old, local favorite so I was willing to give it a try but not too happy about how long construction took. I went for my birthday and it is 100% different than what it used to be, super swanky and hip (no more games are on the TVs at the bar which disappointed my parents and their friends). I started off with the pineapple puree margarita and OMG was it good, I absolutely loved it. The crab dip my family got had a hair in it so the waiter returned it and gave us a new one, the fried pickles were amazing, and everyone else was really happy with their drinks! The waiter even gave me my a desert on the house since it was my bday, super sweet European woman. It can get pretty pricey but if you're looking to treat yo' self this is a good spot. read more

This is my favorite restaurant in the beaches. The menu is complex and is constantly refreshed. The food is excellent ... there isn't a bad option on the menu. Everything from their steaks to their burgers to their seafood is phenomenal. Their bar and their menu of crushes isn't bad either . Highly recommend this spot! read more

Food was ok. My husband got sick 30-45 mins after eating here during COVID-19, called the manager to report and they did nothing for the bad experience he had. They said unless someone else calls to report the same thing that they can't prove it. Terrible management and ownership. Will never go back. Steer away from this place. read more

The food and drinks are good here if you can actually get someone to serve you. We've had issues with service here three times now. We love the food and drinks when we can find someone to serve us after begging. We often have to ask for a server after being seated for at least 20 minutes. We keep coming back because the food is good and we can walk from our boat. However, if this continues, we'll make our own drinks on the boat and eat at the Chesapeake marker instead. read more

Came here for lunch while in town for a wedding. I had the crabcake sandwhich with cucumber salad. Wife had the mussels. The crabcake sandwhich was ok, but the bread created a distracting texture. Cucumber salad was nice and refreshing. Mussels were really good. We split an order of fries which were good despite being undersalted. I also ordered an orange crush to drink, which was fresh. Great ambiance and brunch is my favorite at Ketch; however, I've visited 15 times and it's hit or miss. Depends upon servers and the chef. The patio is gorgeous. Very nicely laid out. Beware of smokers. Can be very pricey! No lunch specials which is sad. Deviled eggs are bland. Pretzels are fresh baked and delicious but too much salt on the tops takes the flavor so scrap some off to truly enjoy the flavor. The crab dip is usually very tasty; however yesterday it was so salty we couldn't enjoy it. Crab meat was sparse too esp given the price. Ordered the cod fish tacos, chicken sandwich and the Caroline barbecue. Cole slaw with blue cheese was different. Wasn't too bad. The fries were great! The barbecue was sour with so much salt I couldn't eat it. Really disappointed given the price. The bun was fresh but again, I couldn't eat the meal. The fish tacos was covered in salt or old bay. Wasn't a clear spot on the fish that's wasn't covered with red rub. My daughter couldn't eat it. Note: I had been ranting and raving about Ketch since it opened and she loved the vibe and look. Sadly, she was not impressed with the food and service. The waitress never came back and checked to see if everything was okay after our meals were served. Thus, I had to walk inside and tell the bartender that the chef was too heavy on the seasoning and the salt and to ask for a bag the waitress never asked about. Yes, I asked for to go containers thinking we would attempt to eat the leftovers and they were just as over-seasoned and salty - everything was tossed! Went for dinner last night. Dining room near the windows was a pleasant location. At first the early crowd was quiet but as the dinner crowd arrived it became more noisy. Level was about 80, so raised voice was needed to talk. Our server Erica (?) was excellent. She took our changes without question. A good restaurant should be able to adjust to diners if it's available. On the down side, food was a little over salted, with the cream of crab being almost uneatable. The Caesar salad was presented as a work of art, but difficult to eat. The dressing was scarce and not identified as anything. The crab cake was excellent. It was one of the best I have had in a long time. Jumbo lump with a creamy center. The location and decoration of the restaurant was good but the food was not up to what it should be given all the things going for it. Prices were very reasonable and service was excellent. With a few minor tweaks this could be a five star dining experience. Try this place, it's much better than anything else close by. read more

What a great place. So many restaurants associated with marinas serve mediocre food at best. This is an exception. We had several appetizers for dinner and they were all wonderful. The deviled eggs are a great idea. The tuna in lettuce wraps flavorful and tender. The crab dip with pretzels was cheesy and crabby. Everything was wonderful. Will definitely be back!! read more

Great seafood place with water view and outdoor patio to relax and enjoy when the weather is good. Food is good and service too. This area doesn't have many places for any fine dining so this is the nearest to that for miles around. Had the fish and chips which was quite a large portion and well prepared. read more

I've had 2 bad experiences at Ketch 22. Our first visit was pleasant, we had a great waitress, was seated in a timely fashion and attended to promptly. I ordered a steak and the problems began. My order was for their Ribeye cooked medium. What I got was a dried out slab of leather. I would have eaten it well-done but, this was a steak cooked well-done/well-done. I sent it back with the option of filling it with a crab cake to make it easier, and faster, since my fiancée's food was served at the same time (knowing it would take at least 15-mins to cook another steak). They opted for the steak. After about 10-mins, my new steak came. It was raw (cold in the middle). I sent it back again and received the next one somewhere around medium-rare. I ate it anyway. They comped MY meal and gave us a dessert to share. We chalked it up to working out the wrinkles. Out next visit was a couple of weeks later. This time we were seated even quicker, as we were their on a week night around 7pm. We sat at our table for about 5-mins before our server appeared, took our drink order and appetizer request. It's important to note, my fiancé asked for water and I, unsweetened ice tea with Splenda. Or appetizer order consisted of their deviled eggs. We waited for about 20-mins without any sight of our server, when my fiancé went to the bar for water. She had gone to the gym prior to dinner and was thirsty. She conversed with a couple who were seated at the bar. They too had been less than happy, as another twosome who came after them had been seat d b fore them. They d cid d to eat at the bar rather than wait longer for another table. Within 5 minutes of my fiancé returning to the table, another server showed up with our drinks, sans the Splenda. My fiancé asked about the Splenda before I could and the server left momentarily to grab it. When she returned, she slapped the packets, not a holder like one might normally expect to find at a restaurant, down on the table, donning a scowl, turned and was gone in an instant. Before I go farther, I'd like to reiterate that our appetizer was deviled eggs, a dish served cold or, at most, room temperature. It had now been about 25 minutes since we ordered our drinks and the appetizer. Only recently had we received our drinks and had not seen our waitress since taking our order. At about the 30-minute mark, our waitress appeared. She didn't come to our table and ask how we were doing. She breezes bye and only stopped when I called out to her. At this point, we had decided on what our entrees would be so, given how long it was taking just to get water, tea and deviled eggs, I decided now was the time to place our meal order. As she approached the table I told her we were ready to order. She looked down at the table, started to reach into her pocket but stopped, and mumbled something about needing to do something. She said she would be back in 1 minute. She than turned and left without us having a chance to say anything. So our evening ended about 10 minutes later when, still without appetizer, still not having placed our meal order, we decided we'd had enough. We collected our things and left without paying for the half an ice tea I drank waiting for her to return. We are very forgiving people but have our limits too. The first experience was forgivable. They did their best and simply didn't get all the pieces right. The second visit was inexcusable at just about every level. It's a beautiful place to dine but, the food and service have to match or, it's simply an overpriced failure waiting to happen. The owners have experience and know success but, unlike the Annapolis area where they came from, Ketch 22 exists in an area where success is about making it through the winter. As a local, it's attractive to have a nice place to dine but, you only get so many chances before the future is much less certain. ambiance is only important if the food and service are good as well. read more

OMG give this place 9 1/2 stars. Let's take away a half star for being a bit too warm inside. It's hot out and we enjoy our food more if we're not sweating. The grapefruit crush is the best I've ever had. And I've had some of the best around the bay. The fried pickles were also the best we've ever had...we like our fried pickles and order them every chance we get. These were at the the top!! I had the tuna tacos with the cucumber salad side and could not finish my plate. So fresh and a large amount of food. My husband had the steak and cheese sandwich. I am sure there was an entire steak in that sandwich . He had the fries for his side. The food was fabulous and Our server Bethany was very attentive and friendly. After an impromptu drive to North Beach (from Washington, DC), my mom and I got hungry and decided to google restaurants in the area. I'm eternally grateful that we came across Ketch 22!!! OMG!! What a fantastic restaurant. From the time we walked in the door (w/o a reservation), we were met with smiles and warm welcomes from the hostesses and staff. The environment was clean, bright and beautiful, with big windows and a large deck overlooking the water. It was awesome!! And THE FOOD!!! Absolutely impeccable!! Especially the cream of crab soup and the crab dip (served with homemade pretzel bread). Yummmm!! I'd go back for those two things alone! But what impressed me most was the staff and management. Our server was great, but it was Andrea (one of the managers) who went above and beyond to make sure that we had an enjoyable experience. She was awesome, truly personable and was working hard taking care of customers the entire time we were there. Her and her staff did such an excellent job. I will EASILY be traveling over 40 mins to make this trip again. Ketch 22 is SO worth the drive!! read more

Delivered a boat to Herrington Harbor South and tried Ketch 22 for lunch and cocktails. Excellent items on a very unique menu; we had Ahi and a unique Grilled Cheese w/smoked ham and apple slices. Delicious homemade cucumber salad, too...they must not buy much off of the Sysco truck! We ate outdoors at the beautiful bar overlooking the marina and pool...very nice! Patrick the bartender made excellent recommendations accompanied by just the right amount of conversation...great service! The dining room looked very nice and restrooms were elegant and flawless. We were leaving during the change of shift and all the employees were friendly and outgoing. This team obviously likes their work and they convey that to the patrons. It was a very nice experience; I highly recommend Ketch 22 to boaters and landlubbers alike. We will definitely be back for another fine waterfront experience! read more

Mangos is gone without a trace. Not a single scrap of Mangos remains. Long live Mangos. Ketch 22 incorporates a sleek, modern Maryland interior with wood details and dark color paint with nice lighting and spare decoration. This has replaced patterned carpet and the dance floor is replaced with a large bar. While I grew up around Mangos and it has a special place in my heart, Ketch 22 feels like a necessary update. The outdoors are updated with a centered bar. I learned the full menu is not served at the pool, which is a shame and a difference that Mangos wins on. But as for food, the crab dip is excellent (and served with pretzels!), the crab cakes are fresh, and the deviled eggs are served in perfect near-whipped proportions. The alcoholic fruit crush drinks are just as good as I remember. The important thing is that the local scene hasn't changed: everyone is just as friendly and welcoming as I remember. read more

Very much enjoy eating here. My husband had the shrimp arancini appetizer- delicious!!! And the winter salad- also delicious!! I had the fish and chips. Light and flaky and a ton of fish!!! The only unpleasant thing I've ever had here is their sticky wings. The one time we had them it tasted like the whole salt shaker was poured on them, but we sent them back and they didn't charge us and comped a drink. Good business practice!! Was looking forward to trying this place again. Had a so-so experience last year. The food was good for three of us but my fish was totally, totally dry! I had asked fo rate fish to be medium rare knowing the always over cook the fish. It came out rock hard. Too bad, as the portion was nice and the fish was a good fish. Oh well, I guess if we decide to go to this place again I have to try the burger, pretty hard to mess up that one. read more
