Horrible quality, I've been to many Korean bbq spots and this one is the biggest rip off . Their meat is all fat, super chewy and came out brown (before it was cooked). The place itself is run down, not clean at all, the floors are gross and the kitchen staff was cooking and eating with no gloves on, thanks to my seating I was able to see. I am very disappointed with not only the service but the expectation that was at an all time low. I came there with a friend to show her Korean BBQ where you can cook the meat itself. Now here is the issue. All the meat that you can order is shown in the menu with pictures as "raw". Now it could have been my ignorance to "assume" that we would actually cook the meat in front of us because he burned was there. We ordered one order of Bulgogi meat. They cooked in the back for us!!!! It didn't taste fresh. It tasted like the warmed it up. Because it came not only 10 MINUTES to come back and place it on the table. The meat came out before the vegetable noodles did. The whole order was $25. And I ordered bulgogi from a Korean restaurant and it was around $13 not $25. What a RIP OFF. For one order of meat and japchae noodles. The entire bill was $52. I am so disappointed with the experience. If i was paying that much for the bill, I would have taken us to the all you can eat Korean bbq restaurants. It was New Year Day, the time for traditional comfort food. This year brought, in lieu of Southern staples, Korean fare. I couldn't have been happier with the choice. Even as you entered the parking lot, you knew that at mid-afternoon the restaurant was still filled. Being busy didn't at all interfere with the warm welcome we received. And their table choice for our party was perfect for a three year old. The meal began with the best banchan mix I have experienced. All the dishes were interesting and seasoned perfectly. My particular favorites were the chive cakes, tofu, spinach, spicy radishes and sweet potato noodles. Having been briefed on the traditional New Year dish by family members, I was prepared to order the Dduk mandooguk: Korean Dumplings seeped in beef broth with sliced rice cake. But we were informed that the restaurant would be serving a complementary bowl to each diner. Expecting a small bowl, we each ordered an additional entree. To our surprise the server brought a tray of six entree sized bowls of the Dduk mandooguk. It was a marvelous concoction with a warm light broth that met the needs of this diner perfectly. How would I ever eat the entree I had ordered? Since everyone had ordered a different entree, it was wonderful to sample different offerings from the extensive menu. Therefore my own choice of Wong Donkatsu didn't get a lot of attention. The pork was very tasty, along with the salad and awesome dressing. I loved the purple rice with beans interspersed. The beans flavored the rice in such a perfect way that I could have enjoyed the dish, along with a simple broth, as a great comfort food meal. Did I mention the warm and plentiful hot tea? And for dessert, of course a tasty slice of orange. This is a restaurant that I could visit on a regular basis, attempting to sample everything on the menu. One look at the floor and I could see so much burned bits and dirty things everywhere, which made me feel that everything was super unclean. The staff that took our orders and served us were super rude and seemed like they did not have much patience or time for our order. We ordered some classic dishes such as the japchae, seafood pancake, prime boneless short rib, and bibimbap. They also gave a complimentary egg stew with our order and banchan. For the meat, you can either cook it yourself at the table or have them cook it. We had them cook it so we did not have to deal with it. The prices were a bit high for these items. I was also a bit disappointing that I did not see Korean staple dishes such as jajangmyeon or the spicy seafood noodles. My wife and I love coming here. We do it 2-3 times a month. Edison has quite a few Korean restaurants, and Keum Ho consistently stands out for the quality of the food, service, and ban chans. They have not brought back the sushi bar since the start of covid, but I still highly recommend going. read more

Hadn't been back here for a couple of years and brought my son to try it as their food was always good. We were greeted and seated very quickly. Unfortunately this time around, however, the waiter/cashier did not understand English so well and kept getting our order wrong. Still, I am leaving 3 stars because the server did his best to accommodate us and the food here is still really good. Went for the first time today for lunch with my coworkers and I really enjoyed the meal. They have a $10 lunch special and their lunch menu actually has a lot of variety. They have your soups, your rice and meats, so I got my favorite jaeyook dolsot (spicy pork in stone pot). This is an incredible Korean Japanese restaurant. It's a hidden gem located in an ordinary central New Jersey strip mall, but the food is out of this world. I couldn't believe the low price and high quality for one of my favorite Korean-Japanese entrees, Hwe Dub Bap (Korean style Chirashi) at only $16.95 (most places charge $22 - $25). The complimentary Korean appetizers are a welcoming touch and much appreciated. The miso soup was a little lacking (no tofu, seaweed or scallions), but it was included for free so I can't be too mad at that. Honestly I would say this place is more of a 3.5 stars but my mom and sister liked it so I bumped it up. We went here on a Saturday night and weren't in the mood for meat, so we decided to just order off their other menu. We got: -salmon teriyaki: very dry. The sauce was good though and the portion was generous -Sushi deluxe: the fish was fresher than I expected but they seem to skimp out on the rice in the nigiri. -Crazy roll: pretty good, it was rolled kind of loose so it fell apart easily -bulgogi bibimbap: delicious! Everything had really good flavor and the hot stone pot was huge All in all the food was pretty good but I think the atmosphere could use some work. I dined at Keum Ho Garden on a Sunday night around 8:30PM w/4 other people. The restaurant itself is spacious and well lit, and the servers are attentive. As a group we ordered five dishes to share. The triple beef combo was so delicious. The meat was flavorful, tender, and perfectly cooked. Our waitress tended to our grill and cooked the meat for us right away. The combos also come with a steamed egg and choice of soup (we chose the tofu soup w/seafood). The grilled pork belly was very tender and tasted great. This was cooked in the kitchen and brought out to our table. The seafood pancake offered here is great for sharing and had the right amount of doughy chew and crispy crunch. We also ordered cheese haemul ddukbokki (cheesey rice cakes w/sauce) & nakji-bokkeum (stir fried octopus w/noodles). Both of these dishes were very savory & were perfect for sharing. My friends and I stumbled upon this place randomly. Which is always scary. I didn't look at reviews or anything we were all just very hungry. The food here was nothing less than amazing. The spread we got with the meat special was delicious. The kimchi, dumplings came with 10 an order, we were given some sort of egg dish which was fluffy in texture with great flavor, perfect. And then they gave us a tofu seafood soup which I wish I could've taken some home. The meat which was cooked by the waitress was cooked to perfection (medium) which was cooked right in front of us. The marinated pork which I ordered tonight for $25 was very underwhelming in terms of portion and seemed more like it fit serving for a customer at mall barbecue joint. Also the waitress did not sit us (party of two) for 5 minutes when there were plenty of empty tables and the waitress seemed rather cold towards us as we waited to be served something like rice and side dishes. It was also very hot and smoky inside, which made it very difficult to breathe. After placing our orders, we got our side dishes. The side dishes were relatively mediocre. I ordered the spicy cold noodles and the seafood udon. The cold noodles were practically flavorless. Whilst the udon was overly salty, to the point where it became unbearable to eat at certain points in time. I don't think the service was particularly good nor was the food. I also don't think that the quality of food is worth the money spent. I know that many of the other reviewers liked their Korean BBQ, which unfortunately I'm not able to accurately review. I think that there are other Korean restaurants in this area that have better food worth the money spent. read more

The purpose of this review is two-fold. 1) to warn you, the reader, about my experience here and 2) so I remember not to come here again. I get confused with the different Korean restaurants in Edison so I want to make sure I don't make the same mistake twice. I took the day off and was looking forward to having lunch with my husband today. We decided on Chung Sol Bat because of the great reviews and we haven't tried that place yet. I gave my husband the address on Old Post Road. He said "oh, I know where that is". The next thing I know, he pulled into Keum Ho Garden and said "We're here". Huh? Okayyyy....whatever. We decided to stay since we were already there and the reviews for this place were also good. Well, we were led astray. BIG disappointment. We've been here a few years ago for Mother's Day and the food was good. They must have changed ownership because the food today was the worst Korean food I've ever had. Under Yelp check-in, it said "Grand Opening". I'm guessing the good reviews are for the previous ownership. The food: My husband ordered the spicy tofu soup. When his food came out it was a seafood tofu soup. Nowhere on the menu did it say seafood. Our server was debating with us that spicy tofu soup = seafood tofu soup. We weren't happy about this but didn't want to make a fuss, so we were going to just let it go. But she did eventually switch it out with a beef tofu soup. The beef tofu soup however, was very, very watery. It didn't look like the way tofu soups usually are. The color was watery; the broth was thin. It didn't have much flavor and I am not just saying this because of the mishap. It really was thin and watery. I think they specially made this for him off the menu because our server said they didn't have this on the menu. My meal was just as disappointing but we just let it go. I ordered the hot stone rice pot with beef (bibimbap?) My favorite part of about this dish is the egg on top. But there was no egg! I've never had a hot stone rice pot without the egg. Furthermore, there was no hot sauce to accompany this dish. So I ate plain, white rice, with a few slices of carrots, beef and a few pieces of greens. When we got our bill, our server brought us 2 slices of oranges. We noticed other customers got the small Korean yogurt drink, which we were looking forward to. This combination comes with Prime Boneless Short Rib, Prime Rib Eye, and 4 weeks Dry Aged Prime Rib Eye. I liked how the restaurant presents the meat. It looks fancy and you can definitely tell it's good quality meat. The staff will cook each meat separately, so you can embrace and enjoy each piece of meat. All the meats were amazing and yummy. It's like each cut and each piece I had just melted in my mouth. It was simply an amazing pieces of meat. I was just looking forward to the next bite. They're generous as I ate up all the fish cakes, they refilled it. The hot tea was where they feel short. I would tell the waitress and she'd yell to a bus boy but he came over with sodas instead. After a long while, we asked for tea again and this time we got it. They're seafood pancake was truly outstanding. Light and crispy without grease dropping off the sides. Their rice cake was delicious but it was sweet and savory but I was hoping for spicier. This is just s preference. My family enjoyed it. Their seafood soondubo had wonderful tofu but barely had any seafood. Disappointed. Their dolsot bipbimbop was average. While it was tasty, it was had for me to stir and break up the veggies. Then the bottom just wouldn't crisp up properly so the added bowl of bone soup was not used to it full advantage. I was disappointed there was no egg anywhere to be found. Oh well.
