An answer to prayer! I was knee deep in a water leak that I discovered about 12 inches beyond my meter box. Thankful that I found it so soon in my dig, I started to look up plumbers to fix the leak. I looked up from my phone and Wade with Kevin Cohen Plumbing was pulling into my neighbor's driveway to fix an isssue there. I walked over and described my issue with the intent of scheduling the fix at another time. Wade was very courteous and just happened to have enough time to fix my issue along with my neighbors. He was in my meter box for about 30 minutes and the line is stronger than it was when first installed. Although I truly believe this was great timing from divine intervention, Wade was a great technician - very friendly and accommodating. I will recommend Kevin Cohen Plumbing to everyone. I have used KCP a couple of times and both times I was very satisfied. This time I was recovering from surgery and of course a pipe behind my kitchen sink wore out. Called KCP and the wonderful gals in the office sent Rich out to take a look. He explained exactly what had to be done in detail and said they could do it on the following Friday. They sent Michael (another plumber) out on Friday at exactly the time they said they would. It was quite a bit of work but Michael did a great job and cleaned up after. I am a renter. My landlord contracted with Kevin Cohen Plumbing to fix a clogged kitchen drain. Got a call from their man Wade a couple of hours early. He was ready to come do the job. He immediately recognized the cause of the problem. It was actually the design of the pipes. That design was prone to clogs. He called my landlord to see if he would ok replacing some of the pipes with a style that would be less likely to clog in the future. I say great job Wade for going the extra mile and doing more than what was required to fix the problem. I think many plumbers would have just cleared the clog and moved on. read more

We called Kevin based on the recommendation of our property management company and we are glad we did. From the first call to the completion of the job they kept us updated and worked with our schedule to get us in. We had them come do two separate drain clogs on separate toilets and thankfully we were up- and running without any other concerns. Having someone like Wade come out to explain it and do it right the first time was what made us a believer of their service. If you have any doubts flush those down the toilet lol. read more

Used this company and they were extremely professional, 10 minutes early, and the service guy Levi explained everything that needed done. I authorized the fix and he was done in about 20/25 minutes. Was told they would be calling me early next week with a bid to do some service work on a tub. Will be using them in the future. read more

I called Cohen Plumbing to change a water pressure regulator valve. I did all the grunt work by digging and cutting through roots to expose the pipe and chipped off a thick layer of corrosion. I was worried the corrosion might cause the pipe to break if I tried to finish the job myself so I called Cohen Plumbing. My worries were unfounded as they easily changed the regulator in about 40 minutes. My complaint is that the charges were excessive; $394 for so little work. read more

A good review after all. Woke to a wet carpet in the master bedroom and a clogged garbage disposal. Kevin Cohen Plumbing was suggested by a contractor I've used, and they came within about two hours. Determined that the water in the bedroom carpet was not a plumbing issue (whew!), and fixed the clogged drain. The plumber was helpful with questions I had about my plumbing, and checked a few things for me. He was nice, helpful, quick at figuring things out, and gone in about half an hour. I am pleased. Update: After spending the rest of the day sucking up water in the master bedroom with a carpet cleaner, I am skeptical about the plumber's conclusion that this is not a plumbing issue. And voila! My 87-year-old mother, whose mind is as sharp as a tack could not leave this alone. Why was there more water??? She found the drip from the hot water source under the sink next to the door into the master bedroom. The water drained into the cabinet, then ran to the side of the cabinet and down along the wall, and since the bathroom floor is tile, the water seeped through to the carpet in the bedroom, and has been doing so since last week when we had a faucet replaced...if the plumber from Kevin Cohen had looked at this sink at all, he would have noticed the water, but he only glanced there...thus, another full day of drips accumulating under my carpet. Kevin Cohen Plumbing was prompt and cheerful and helpful, but absolutely failed to diagnose what should have been a relatively predictable problem (since I told him the faucet had been replaced less than a week ago). He was lovely about the other simple problems I had...but on the issue that was most pressing: FAIL. I liked him, and originally gave four out of five stars, but a plumber should have seen this before my elderly mother. Another update: Kevin Cohen Plumbing read my review and called to apologize for their employee missing such an obvious leak. They offered to come fix the leak - but I have the contractor who replaced the faucet coming back to take care of that. So, since they did not solve my problem, they offered to refund my money for the service call. My voided check is supposed to be in the mail. I consider this very handsome of Kevin Cohen Plumbing, and have changed the number of stars awarded them in my review accordingly. I appreciate a company that stands behind their people and their work. I am now certain to call them again if I have a plumbing issue, because I know that they are serious about customer satisfaction. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!! Hired them for the first time to do some work on my gas stove, for which they had to turn the gas off to the entire residence. They left the job site without igniting the pilot light to my hot water heater. Woke up the next morning with cold water!!!! Called the company thinking they might reimburse me some of my bill ($181 for 40 minutes worth of work) but they did not. They were also 1 hour late for the appointment! Remodeling bathroom and we were impressed with KCP's communication and immediate response to our request for an estimate. Wade was friendly, responsive and professional. It was a 2 part job with the first being disconnecting water and drains from a tub and and seperate shower stall. Job was completed and paid for a which allowed us to move forward with planning and misc. repairs and changes. Due to a back order and delay on receiving shower stall and a prescheduled vacation the 2nd part of the job was pushed back a month. From that point on communication and information were basically nonexistent. I repeatedly tried to get an estimate for the 2nd part of the job and was even told that Jason would come out and give a bid and then immediately do the job. I said I didn't like that process since we couldnt evaluate the cost and charges. After talking to numerous office employees we finally received the estimate from Wade and it was $600-$700 higher than what we expected and what competitors calculated. We chose to go elsewhere. Nobody seems to be on the same page in this Company. Very disappointed. What started out as a wonderful experience turned into a s_itshow. I called Monday morning and scheduled service. Their service rep said someone would be here at 8 AM Wednesday, then she corrected to not later than 8:30 AM and took my name address and phone number. At 8:45 AM Wednesday, I called to find out where the plumber was. The rep apologized and said I was scheduled for 10 AM. I said since it was almost 9 AM, I would wait. At 10:15 AM, I called and cancelled the service call. I can't say what their work is like but based on their customer service, I won't use them. read more

Same thing as the previous review. Guy (Dennis) can out and supposedly fixed the sink. It backed up after he left. At the suggestion that they should come back and actually fix it for the $132 we had already given them, they refused. Unlike the last reviewer, I decided NOT to pay them twice and took my business elsewhere -- try Petersens. They are really good. I've used them before, and they only need to be paid once!! We called this company because we didn't have hot water flow in the shower and our regular plumber was not available and it was Friday and didn't want to wait until Monday to get fixed. We have seen lots of Cohen vans in town so decided to call them. We were told there was a $59 fee for an estimate but if we have them fix the repair, that fee would be removed. It took the plumber 30 minutes to change the cartridge in the shower valve and charged us $272.05 plus the $59 fee for a total of $331.05! I asked what their hourly rate was and Rich said they didn't have one only a flat repair rate for the job. I asked what the cost of the cartridge part was and he said they don't itemize bills....just charge a flat repair cost. When I mentioned that we were told the $59 would be deducted from the repair he said they don't do that and was going to talk to the office about it, but since we were told they would do it he removed the $59 charge. We understood that the $59 would be deducted from the service repair and only would be charged if we decided to not have them do the repair. We were not told it was in addition to the repair! $272.05 is a VERY steep price for a 30 minute repair when the cartridge is sold at the hardware store for $30! This company responds to calls quickly and are very professional at the service call; however according to other reviews, Kevin Cohen Plumbing is overcharging customers and we will not use them again. There are a lot of plumbers in the area we will use someone else when our regular plumber is not available. We will not refer anyone to this company! read more

Steer clear of this company. At first I was so impressed by this plumbing company. I am out of town and my faucet breaks. In one hour, the service person diagnosed the leak under my kitchen sink as a broken faucet, checked my washer and replaced a faucet in my bathroom. The best $129. I ever spent...or so I thought. Upon returning to town I schedule them to return and replace the "broken" faucet in the kitchen. They did not send the same gentleman out. That was my first mistake. I literally found him wondering around my front hall lost - twice. He informed me he could not install the faucet because the countertop was too thick...when I suggested he drill the hole deeper...it was a revelation...but, he wasn't sure he could do it. This really should have been when I pulled the plug on this fiasco, but I was still convinced these incompetent idiots were "good plumbers". I was beginning to wonder if this guy was a real plumber. I was later to learn he wasn't a trained service plumber...just somebody from the office whom they sent out. Next, I asked him to take a look at a drippy faucet in the bath tub. I came in about twenty minutes later to find he had disassembled the entire faucet, knobs, and shower head....and that he did not have the "parts" to put it back together. After four hours, he left leaving my house in shambles. That is when I called the service manager and was informed he wasn't a service plumber...surprise surprise. I informed the manager I was not going to pay for 4 hours labor just because they sent someone out who did not know what he was doing. He said my bill would be adjusted. The next day they sent someone out to put my house back together. It took them 1.5 hours...all over a drippy faucet. I received a bill in the mail for $495.00....to replace a faucet and look at a drippy faucet. I was outraged. But, the story gets even better. After I calmed down, I sent them a check In Sept 2015. I never noticed...but the check was never cashed. This month August 2016, the turned me over to a collection agency. NEVER use this company...you can fix it better yourself. Oh, I almost forgot...the kitchen faucet was not the source of the leak and I had to call another plumber to fix a month later it at a cost of $250.00.... read more

My 75 gallon gas water heater went out this weekend. Replacing it was too big a job for the plumber i usually use and he recommended Kevin Cohen plumbing. I called them on Monday and they were able to get somebody out first thing Tuesday morning. They arrived on time, were extremely professional, gave me a bid, and did the job quickly and efficiently. Excellent response!! Came home from vacation and discovered a water leak from the main line. We called two other plumbing services, left messages and never received call backs. I then remembered that Kevin Cohen does a lot of work for the company I work for so we called. I was put right through to Anthony who was on call and within the hour he was at our door. I was a little nervous because it was a Saturday and was expecting this to cost a lot. Anthony was very helpful in explaining the situation and exactly what it would cost upfront. We had a pipe burst this morning and so I called this company. I left a message and they called me back 15 minutes later saying they could have a plumber here by noon. In just 30 minutes, Wade, the plumber, drove up our driveway. He found where the problem was immediately and replaced a portion of pipe and the hose bib. His price was good and just as had been quoted on the phone. After I wrote the check, he asked if there was any other concern in the house and then looked at our shower head and showed me where to detach it if I wanted a new one, but to first try soaking it in lime remover to see if that fixed the problem. He also discussed a water heater issue with me after I asked his perspective. Good advice. Very polite and very timely. We will definitely call them again. KHR read more

Every issue has been resolved quickly, and I've never had to call them back for work not being performed satisfactorily. We've been lucky enough to have Wade come out most of the time. Don't make the mistake I did and try to go with someone else. These guys are the best. Another local company installed a new garbage disposal in our kitchen, but did a terrible job by cutting one pipe too short. Within a month or two, the pipe came apart and rendered our sink unusable. Big problem. Called them and had an appointment that same day. Had to reschedule last minute and they accommodated my work and travel schedule and sent someone out on a Sunday evening WITHOUT charging after-hours rate. They came out right on time on Sunday evening and not only corrected the one pipe that the other guys screwed up, but also replaced all the pipes under the sink for fear they may have messed them up before too! First class service all around. We now have our plumbing company for as long as we live here. Can't say enough great things about them. Don't make the same mistake as me! I felt I had to write a review after receiving such terrible customer service from Kevin Cohen Plumbing. They replaced a pressure tank for me to the tune of $845 - tank not included (I paid for that separately.) The guy who was supposed to install it was sick, so they sent a different guy who had no idea what to do for this install. Four hours and waaaaaay too much money later, when the work was ALREADY done, they bring me the estimate and tell me I have to pay it. I did, but disputed the amount they charged, and they did refund $225 to me, but two other plumbing companies have since looked at the install and noted it could have been done in an hour, if the plumber had known what to do. I also need a filtration system, so Kevin Cohen sent two estimates, both high for the industry and no better than their competitors. I requested the water test results from Kevin Cohen plumbing today....wait for it.....they told me they won't release the results to me unless I HIRE them to do the filtration tank install. Wow, I was stunned by their response (and I asked nicely, I was cooperative, I am honestly a nice person, but not when I'm being ripped off.) I initially had Kevin Cohen Plumbing come out to my house because 3 different people suggested them. Please be cautious if you plan to hire this company. They talk a great talk, but they do NOT provide the service nor the value they claim to. Don't be ripped off, there are other companies that do great work for a reasonable amount of money and I will definitely NEVER hire Cohen Plumbing to do ANY of my work ever again. I will tell all my friends and family to carefully consider the plumbing company they choose. You deserve the same warning of caution. Happy plumbing company search to you! read more

We have a commercial property and called Kevin Cohen for a leaking shower/tub wall valve. They ordered the replacement valve which was the wrong part. They said they would look for the correct valve if we were willing to pay them to search for the part. They said the alternative was to replace the entire fixture which would require opening the wall. We asked if they could simply change out the leaking valve with one from a tub which was not in use. We couldn't schedule them to complete this activity and it had already been three weeks since we first called them and so finally decided to call another local plumber to complete the work. The new plumber simply took out the leaking valve, re-aligned the gaskets and tightened the internal screws and replaced it back. The entire process took twenty minutes to complete and he charged $75/ for half hour. Three weeks later we received a $225 bill from Kevin Cohen for work they were unable to perform. The incorrect part was one they ordered upon inspecting the valve and yet felt we needed to pay for that. We argued the bill but they would not concede and we paid them. We felt they were over- priced to begin with but that was not the worst part. We have since read other reviews which we wish we had before we called them. read more
