This is my second time coming to Kevin's restaurant and both times the food was good. I honestly don't remember what I had the first time but it was for dinner and I know I really enjoyed the meal and the service. This time I went for lunch with my wife. We ordered the French onion soup and it was excellent. I knew the soup would be great as Kevin is a chef and takes pride in every aspect of his creations. My wife had the hanger steak salad which is served on top of large plate of leafy green with fresh vegetables and some wedge fries, it was solid! This was one of the daily specials and did not disappoint. I had another one of the specials an oyster po-boy. The bread was delicious and they must make it in house. The greens were fresh and the tomatoes sweet however there were only two small oysters on each half of the sandwich? Very small and really unnoticeable give the size of the sandwich. I was really disappointed because I love oysters and was surprised that they didn't add more to the sandwich. It was served with a nice spicy mayonnaise and homemade fries. Maybe they were running out of oysters, which they should have just taken it off the menu. Either way I'd rather have a traditional Po-boy loaded with oysters and less of the greens and tomatoes. The taste was on point but disappointing for the lack of oysters. I will definitely go back but I won't order this item again. See photo! For an appetizer we had the crab/lobster cakes, with a nice mango relish in the middle and tasty sauce. For dinner I order the French pork chop saltimbocca with spinach, mushrooms, and marsala sauce topped with fontina cheese. Very very good, thick pork chop also. I had been hearing some great reviews about the food at Kevin's so I finally made it over there for dinner. I had heard the place was small so that was expected and the staff was very welcoming and friendly. We were seated in the middle of the room and I was facing towards the entrance where a blinding sun was coming through the top windows. I looked around to see if there were any other tables for two that were available but they were all getting hit by the same sun. There was no room to shift to either side of the table so I put on my sunglasses and dealt with it. My first advice would be to install some black out curtains over those top windows for your customers. We ordered the spring rolls appetizer which was part of the special menu. The presentation was beautiful but the practicality of picking it up and eating it was difficult. They were drizzled with wasabi sauce, honey and soy sauce and sliced diagonally which made it difficult to pick up without getting your fingers sticky and covered with sauce. I also found the filling sparse, mostly dough and very little veggies. Not worth the $18 IMO. Another one of the appetizers was Lobster and Maryland Crab Cakes. I asked our waitress if it could be served as an entree and she said of course. It came with dipping sauce, mango salsa, a vegetable medley and mashed potatoes. I could have used more of the salsa and vegetables and less of the potatoes which I had to leave half over. They were good but it was too much. The crab cakes were good but I have had better. They were not soft on the outside but with a hard fried shell which made them a bit difficult to manipulate on the plate. My girlfriend ordered the Orange Roughy stuffed with lump crab meat, also on the special menu. It was accompanied with two large fried potato sticks and the same vegetable medley I had gotten. Again, the fish was good but not the"OMG you have to try this!" experience. We finished off our meal with cups of cappuccino which were very good. We would have ordered one of the desserts but we were both too full, so there was definitely not a lack of food! In summary, I would say the ambience was good (except for the sun coming through the windows), the staff were very polite and friendly, the food presentation was awesome and everything tasted very good. I can't say "great" from this first experience. I will be returning to Kevin's to try some of their other entrees. The place is doing well and I want to see it continue to do so, as there are not many great places to eat in Sullivan County. I recommend trying it yourself! read more

Since its opening I have gone frequently. A few times disappointed, recently went again. They always offer a nice piece of salmon, juicy, tasty but this time not so much. It was dry, no taste & looked more like a salmon kabab than a piece of grilled salmon. The service is usually good. When I got there without a reservation the counter was reserved all 6 chairs empty. There were at least 3 empty tables. I was told there was no availability except outside. I took that, there were 3 other tables taken outside. It was chilly the tables all seemed uncomfortable. The young lady was asked to turn on the 1 heater. Her reply was theres no gas. This I found totally unacceptable since there's a trading post right up the way & a 5 gallon tank of propane cost $25-$30.. The 4 tables all made a comment after she walked away. When I left 4 chairs at the counter still unoccupied as were the tables. read more

Wow! Amazing food! I read all the 5 star reviews on Google, and my friends & I decided to make reservations, which you have to do, bcuz it is not a big restaurant at all. I think I counted 10 tables inside, and only 4 bar stools at the bar, but trust me you want to get in here. Our appetizers where the tuna tower & the Clams Napolitano, which was my favorite, so much flavor that isn't just bread crumbs, very impressive with nice presentation. My entree was scallops with garlicky butter rice medley&veg. Those scallops were like butter, I didnt leave not one thing on my plate. My husband got the chicken piccatta, which was just as delicious. There's something to be said about keeping your place small, Because the attention to detail in each dish is crafted to perfection, and I would make a reservation weekly if I could. Very small, very loud. The food was good. It wasn't fantastic. Substitutions on ingredients were made without asking the table first which I thought that's not really a good idea. What if someone has allergy which someone actually did. The food was OK. It wasn't fantastic. It wasn't superb. It wasn't exquisite. It was good certainly not inexpensive either. If you can get past the closeness of the tables and the loudness of the restaurant, it is a sufficiently decent place to eat dinner. read more

We tried for some time to get a reservation always booked up finally this weekend got a reservation for 5. Well worth the wait the food was excellent. The only problem is it is a very small and crowded place. Service was excellent . Next time we hope we can sit in the back room which is less crowded. Look forward to to going back. read more

A small intimate restaurant in a region with limited good dining choices. Very small and somewhat crowded, depending on where you are seated, but that's part of the appeal. The servers are always friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. The menu is filled with many more food choices than you would expect at a small restaurant , but every choice always seems to be a good one. We have been there multiple times and have never been disappointed. Thankful to have Kevin's in town. Highly recommend this restaurant. read more

This is - hand's down - the best restaurant in Sullivan County at this moment. We have no idea why this talented chef decided to open in this tiny jewel box of restaurant in Rock Hill, NY - but those that have eaten dinner there count ourselves lucky indeed. This is a REAL chef, creating wonderful, memorable meals. The staff is a professional and warm. You must have a reservation- it is a tiny space and to partake in this dining experience, you need ample funds, but IMO and that of our friends- it is well worth every cent. I wouldn't be surprised if this becomes a "destination spot,". It IS that good. Save up and then go for dinner. It is definitely worth the splurge. We cannot wait to go back. read more
