We didn't beat the best time, but that just gives us something to aim for next time. What really stood out was how well the clues were designed. They guided you through solving the mystery without leaving you feeling stuck or confused. Some escape rooms can make you wonder, "Okay... what's next?"--but not here. She was very kind and had a lovely personality. She also gave us a courtesy call to ensure we located the center within the Grand Sierra Resort. What caught our eye was that we had to use one of our senses in each of the five challenges: smell, taste, touch, sight, and hearing. The day before we had gone to an escape room and were looking for more similar experiences. Some of the challenges required the team to be split into teams while other challenges required the entire team to participate. Overall, it was a great time and I highly recommend to take a few family members and friends to enjoy the experience with. They also have a snack bar there and a dart room called the Dart Side next door.

I felt confident I was in good hands. After missing my bike for a few days, I realized I had no receipt or proof that I had handed over my bike. I remembered something about an email receipt but couldn't find one, so I called. Got their automated phone reply that they would call me. No call. Still missing my bike desperately and worrying about no receipt I called again. Same automated reply that they would call me. On day 10, the estimated finish date, I went down to the shop and parked in the loading dock area and tried to get in. Couldn't so I called, surprisingly they answered, and served up a little attitude about a front door. Whatever! A shorter gentleman let me in and said he hadn't called me back yet, as they are closed on Mondays, it was Tuesday, and the earlier call was not returned either. He let me know the parts just came in and it would probably be done that day. No call. I got an automated text that my bike was ready for pick up...after they had closed for the day. I picked up the following day. Same shorter guy with attitude but I did see the nicer original guy. He apparently doesn't have an issue with people coming and going out the loading dock area and allowed me to take my bike that way, unfortunately I wasn't parked back there, due to attitude guy from day before. The guy with polka dot socks is super nice too. Overall a good experience, and my bike has never been so clean... one star reduction for attitude and no call backs.

RecConnect passes start at $12 per month.

The pathway is now double the width and does some gentle meandering around the trees. It will be a lot more accessible for people with mobility issues. The new landscaping is beautiful. The banks of the river have been raised and reinforced to decrease flooding damage. And just a reminder- dogs and other pets are still welcome and must be leashed or otherwise contained. Bicycles, scooters, and skateboards are not allowed. This is one of the top places to visit in downtown.

There is plenty of parking, bathrooms and paths and signage to help you find your way. There is a primary dirt path that makes a large mile long loop through the main park area. The history of the area is very interesting. During the week, you feel like you have the park to yourself. I imagine it gets quite busy during the summer and on weekends. A very nice park, free admission (your tax dollars at work) spectacular views of the mountains, and a great way to learn about the history of the area.

Three of us participated in "Blood of the Original" and had an absolute blast. Although the location (at the bottom of some stairs underneath a liquor store in a strip mall) was a bit unsettling at first, once we entered the lobby of Keystone Escape Games we were immediately impressed. The attention paid to the décor and ambiance of the lobby, the Victorian era costumes of the staff, and the welcoming atmosphere was an improvement over other escape game locations we have visited in the Reno/Sparks area, as well as those in Denver, San Diego, and Atlanta. The thematic décor flowed throughout the location to ensure continuity of the overall suspension of disbelief, allowing us to truly immerse ourselves in the storyline of the escape room. Without giving too much away about the room, our triad thoroughly enjoyed the theme-appropriate challenges and puzzles. We appreciated that the pace of finding solutions and clues was consistent -- only on rare occasions were we briefly "stuck" on a challenge, allowing us to quickly regain momentum so that our frustration level never escalated to feeling overwhelmingly helpless. The clues and puzzle variations were excellent, allowing for different levels of general knowledge, critical thinking & problem solving skills, and troubleshooting abilities. With a few super helpful hints, we solved the game and escaped the room after accessing the "Blood of the Original" with less than a minute to spare. We had a riotously good time and now we are telling everyone we know about Keystone Escape Games. Thank you so much for such a fun and enjoyable experience! read more

I recently finished up a trip to Las Vegas and I decided to treat my friends to an escape game experience while we were there. After all, my girlfriend and I had just had recently been to Keystone Escape Games and the experience had been so amazing that we were in the mood to try another one. We went to a place called "Number 1 Escape Room" and played their "Suzy's Cell" game. Well, all I can say is that I'm glad my friends had no frame of reference for the game we played. It was so dull... lifeless. It was basically just lock after lock after lock after lock. Nothing remotely clever or engaging. Most puzzles were solved within a minute or so. We finished with 12 minutes to spare and honestly I thought we were going to finish even earlier. I actually slowed down so we wouldn't be done too fast. After we finished, my girlfriend and I couldn't stop talking about how lame the Vegas room had been in comparison to "Blood of the Original" at Keystone Escape Games. It was like night and day. In fact, the experience made me so appreciative of the time, energy, and effort Keystone puts into their rooms that I had to call them and just let them know how much better they were in comparison. I may not have tried many escape rooms but I know what I like and I like Keystone Escape Games! Give them a go... you won't be disappointed. read more

This was only my second escape room (so not exactly a connoisseur), but I was highly impressed. I'm not much into roleplay or cosplay so I thought I'd have a hard time getting into the plot, but once I was in the actual room, I was SOLD. The set design was very good, with all the props having a polished, cohesive look that contributed to an excellent atmosphere. It was clear to anyone with basic observational skills what things were just set design and what things you were supposed to interact with, without being obtrusive. There was a good array of different puzzles and although it was a bit difficult (for a beginner), hints were offered that helped to move things along without ruining the suspense. There were puzzles with words, physics puzzles, lock puzzles (of course) and enough special effects to really get you into it without seeming kitschy. All in all, it was a great experience and I would recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone who likes escape rooms. It's absolutely a must-see of you like Victorian, steampunk, vampire aesthetics. read more

Just completed their first escape room - a vampire themed one - with a group of 4 friends. They pride themselves on the rooms looking realistic - and it really shows! There are no outlets in the room, no visible "behind the scenes" wires, and no little "do not touch" signs - you can touch everything! They also did a good job of making certain we didn't go down any rabbit holes - displays where there weren't any clues were sealed in glass, and books we weren't supposed to read were riveted shut. There were also some of the best theatrical effects in any of the escape rooms I've seen - the lighting is phenomenal (and a bit dim - they're trying to find the sweet spot) and there are many other things that really improve the feel of the room (I don't want to give away any surprises!). There were several times during the course of the game where we weren't sure if we should proceed because the puzzle was so real. I hear they're hard at work making a second, Sherlock Holmes themed room. Can't wait to try it! read more

My friend and I recently took four of our kids to do the escape room here, and WHOA......... we all had a blast!! Our kids ages ranged from 10yrs to 17yrs old and they all had a great time. There was screaming moments, laughing moments, and definitely some thinking moments!! The puzzles and challenges were great and kept us all busy. If we got stumped, the Spirits were generous in their hints if they liked you. We all had a great time and it's definitely something we'll do again. If you're looking for some good family fun, or even a fun break from your normal day to day, this is something I'd absolutely recommend to anyone! read more

I have completed many escape rooms and I would definitely recommend this escape room to others! This room was very well designed and the clues and puzzles all flowed and went along with the storyline. The puzzles were difficult enough to make everyone have to work together to brainstorm and solve them. It was my dad and stepmoms first time ever doing an escape room and this one definitely set the bar high for them! We all look forward to more rooms to come! Did it with some other friends who had done escape rooms before and they thought this one was many notches better than others they had done (especially in Reno). Our food was brought in from outside and a small table held our food. They offer beverages which consist of small bottles of wine and alcohol ( think plane size!) and a cooler with cans and bottles of beers and party alcohol drinks. These are not included and were $12 for two beers. No cups or ice but you can bring your own I suppose. We had to sign waivers obviously as this can be a dangerous sport. I was sure to not be behind whoever was throwing!! They have axes of different sizes and ninja type stars. I tried them all and favored the stars. You have to keep your own scores which is tricky seeing the board at times but we had fun. Now for the cons. This place is super small and there is no seating so standing for the two hours we reserved was not the best. Also I thought there should be a chain mesh type barrier behind the throwers. Axes do bounce off the wall and if one were to lose their grip as they went back with one, yikes! All in all a fun experience.

There are also three different sizes of axes, from small, medium and large. The size actually makes a difference in the precision of the throw. The computer was user friendly and had lots of different games and formats (like hitting zombies). So even someone who isn't athletically-inclined got some hits too. They have a lot of drink options as well, but we opted for sodas this time. Otherwise a very fun first experience!
