Made a last minute reservation on our first night of vacation and it was AMAZING! We didn't know what to expect as we had no idea where we were going. We were so excited when our driver told us we were in for a special treat. The ambiance was very comfortable and the architecture was really cool. We've eaten at some incredible restaurants and this was by far the best meal we've ever had. Our server John G was outstanding and was very sweet to our kids. The dessert course was so delicious and was delivered in a comfy fireside space. If I had to give cons...the location is off the beaten path, thank goodness our server arranged a shuttle for us because Uber would not show up. The wine list was ok but being from Napa, I could tell some of the wines were marked up a bit. All in all, I was impressed and if I ever find myself back in Keystone this restaurant will be at the top of my list to visit again. read more

I'm only giving this restaurant two stars because of the service and the desserts. The waiters were extremely pushy with wanting to get a dessert order in when we ordered the main course. The sommelier runs a wine listing that contains a large selection but neglected to tell us that they were out of lots of wine whoops! Once they brought the wine out dont expect to be served. This is a do it yourself restaurant. We had to get up and get the bottles and pour for ourselves. When leaving we had to retrieve out own coats from the coat check (whoops again!) Now to the food- The squab appetizer was delicious although the fig newtons were a bit out of place. The foie gras Reuben was also well received although I admit I didn't try it. The Greek salad is deconstructed and doesn't contain any ingredients a normal Greek salad contains. (They should probably consider renaming that one) The soup special was a cream of potato soup with cheese and some chili which had just the right amount of spice but a little too much cream. Entrees The steak was well seasoned it was a reasonable portion and the barley under it was interesting and tasty. The elk was very good although the sweet potatoes on the side could use some work. The fish was well made and those who ordered it enjoyed it. Dessert Ah yes we finally ordered dessert! Our waitress was relieved. What a disappointment when the best dessert was actually banana bread they served with the bread at the beginning The carrot cake was just okay but wasn't very carrotty. And don't expect to be able to detect the cream cheese in the ice Cream. The pear dessert was bland and didn't combine the flavors of pear and goat cheese at all. The "goat cheese" barely had any flavor at all. What a disappointment. The chocolate mousse cake was good, a bit rich for my taste but good. The marshmallow and lemon gelatin should be removed from the plate. We retired to the living room although despite the restaurant being empty and assurances we could hang out by the fire, it was occupied. The waitress did a high pour of the coffee Moroccan style which was nice too bad the coffee was bland and burnt. This place is worth trying to get take out from. Wouldn't bother going again. read more

Snofest participants should AVOID this restaurant. They will not honor promotional discounts for DOD employees--and when asked in advance, will only tell you "no" only upon bringing your checks. Perhaps "diverse" families do not "deserve" the Rocky Mountain Blue/Snofest discount in their eyes. Great food---deplorable service in an unwelcoming atmosphere. Came here the other night with my family, as it was my dad's birthday. He turned 72 and said it was the most spectacular meal and service, and he absolutely loved every minute of it. (He's been dining out for years at exquisite restaurants, so there's a lot to be said for him saying that!) Our waitress was fantastic, and joked around with my dad the entire night, which he loves to do. The curried sweet potato soup was to die for, the elk tenderloin was melt-in-your-mouth good, and the desserts were the perfect end to the night (ask to sit in the other room with the fireplace, it's so enjoyable!) The ambiance was amazing, and I would love to come back but probably couldn't afford it until my parents are back in town haha! Christmas night four course meal was dining perfection! The food, service, and atmosphere all were stunning!

The first time we came here was in Decenber of 2017. The food, the service, everything was spectacular. This year, they have a new chef and the experience was simply disappointing. The service was still ok but the food was disastrous for the price. Protein overcooked, vegetables undercooked, and dessert was raw but burnt at the top?! It's a soufflé which must be ordered 25 minutes in advance. It was the highlight of our dinner last December but this year it was our greatest disappointment. We ordered it with our food, we got it over an hour later, about 20+ minutes after we finished eating. It was certainly NOT worth the wait. It was not cooked through and tasted eggy. Also, the pistachio creame had separated and turned watery. However, the top was burnt and the soufflé was sunken. Thankfully, the server did not charge us for it. Overall, our dinner in December was the highlight of our trip to Keystone and this year it was the worst. I hope they bring back the old chef or at least hire a new (better) one. read more

My husband and I had dinner here after our wedding. The scenery around the restaurant is absolutely breathtaking and made for beautiful wedding photos! Ashton was our server and she was wonderful. She took her time explaining things and answering all of our questions. She even had a coworker pick out the perfect bottle of wine to take home! The restaurant also made our wedding cake and it was DELICIOUS! Our steaks were cooked to perfection. I absolutely recommend this place to anybody and we will be coming back (all the way from St. Louis) to celebrate anniversaries! read more

Quite possibly, the best 4-course meal I've had. Most choices on the menu are game, buffalo, rabbit, etc. For the appetizer I chose the rabbit ravioli, divine. After that my potato soup came out, which was fabulous, but I wish I opted for the salad instead because the soup filled me up so much that I couldn't finish my dinner. My dinner choice was Australian Fish and for dessert, I nibbled on the soufflé. The service was prompt and the wine was smooth. The price is very expensive, but fun for a night out. read more

If you are looking for a modern Ritz Carlton look THIS IS NOT for you* THIS is a cozy historic cabin that is quaint and warm for a perfect romantic dinner, wine tasting and scotch by the fireplace. The food was incredible, I mean culinary delight. As before, this isn't a steak house so don't expect a 64oz porterhouse as they are four coursed meals. But for only $70 ish a person, can't go wrong. Fantastic gem of a restaurant tucked away in a picturesque valley an easy drive from Keystone resort. We went for a special birthday dinner for my wife and had the restaurant to ourselves. I had the 8oz cut of filet mignon with smoked mashed potatoes and wild sourced morels. Totally luscious could be the best mushrooms I've ever had. Steak perfectly cooked and high quality. My wife had the halibut which was very good, in spite of being a long way from the harvest point. Service and atmosphere are top notch. The dessert was served in the living room which is the original section of the house built by homesteaders in the 1930s, very cool. If I could give them a zero rating, I would. I was there attending a wedding reception, and my 3 year old son was given Surf and Turf for his meal via the request of the wedding party. The Surf and Turf was good. I have no complaints about that meal, but I do have a complaint about what happened next when we ordered chicken fingers and mashed potatoes for his replacement meal. Although the chicken fingers had some browning on the outside, they were completely raw on the inside. I wish I had taken a picture of the chicken, but I was beyond infuriated that I had a chat with the server. The manager (Cindy) came out to apologize on behalf of their careless chef. The only reason why my son didn't bite into this meal was because my wife was cutting it for him. This is careless behavior that could have resulted in a serious medical emergency due to their carelessness. read more

Penfolds riesling, Berlinger knights valley Cab, mussels with green curry and yuzu, wapiti elk loin, grand mariner soufflé. This was my 5th or 6th time here and every other time was a 5 star. They changed the menu a bit and the wine selection was less impressive than previous years. The elk loin was tender and sumptuous although a bit salty from the cider brine. Mussels were great. Soufflé in the annex was predictably excellent. It was the highest soufflé rise I have ever seen there, which is impressive considering the altitude. read more

This place was spot on. We had a party of 6 and then we changed it to 9. It was not a big deal since we called a few hrs in advance. The service was over the top. I could not believe how good the food was and we tried just about everything on the menu. We ordered dessert when we ordered our meals since they are all from scratch and take time. They take you to a backroom for that part and sit you by the fire. I had the Wagyu NY Strip - Sauce - Black Truffle Butter with 6 ounce lobster tail. Apps we had Raw Oysters - Foie Gras - Mussels - Cheese plate - Elk TarTare and a few others. I will be taking my wife back for Valentine's day. read more

Keystone Ranch Golf Course is a super layout and in very good shape. First hole is an awesome starting tee shot on a long par 5 from an elevated tee. Finishing holes 17 & 18 are excellent routing, 18 is like the 18th at Pebble Beach. Golf shop was also quite reasonable with me about using some 2 for 1 coupons at the twilight rates- very nice. Two negatives- golf carts do not have GPS or yardages................for resort greens fees in 2013 this is unacceptable. Secondly, the marshall had zero personality or etiquette- he drives up to the first tee and has no greeting to us, then he starts picking up broken tees in between our tee shots walking in and amongst our group with his pick up tool, without waiting or saying a word to us- a bizarre way to start a round. Also, be weary of the afternoon weather- storms and high winds can roll in without warning. Our round started and it was very hot- by hole 5 it was 52 degrees with 30 MPH winds and we were literally freezing our butts off. read more

Horrible. Had breakfast before a round. The eggs were cold and English muffin wasn't even toasted. $13 for a terrible meal. Bathrooms also had no soap, so I assume the kitchen isn't much cleaner. Eat before you drive forever into this place. read more

First time at the Ranch since they converted the menu to ala carte steakhouse. Appetizers and sides were terrific. My only criticism is for a steakhouse, I don't care for "stuff" on my steak like sauce, etc. which was piled on top. Also, it did not seem that the steak had been done on a grill although it was cooked perfectly. read more
