They had a special bison steak with potatoes, and I ordered it medium rare -- absolutely incredible. I'm not exaggerating when I say it was one of the best steaks I've ever had. The bison was perfectly cooked and completely out of this world. The side dishes were excellent as well, and our waiter took great care of us throughout the evening. The ambiance is cozy, the seating is very comfortable, and overall the restaurant has a great atmosphere. The only downside was the noise level. There was a large party at the bar, and it became so loud that we practically had to yell just to have a conversation. Another disappointment was the bread service. Compared to other steakhouses, it really fell short. Hopefully Legends improves this in the future, because everything else was fantastic. read more

While visiting Breckenridge, we made reservations to eat here. We were told over the phone that they were not sure if they would be able to sit all 10 of us together but they were able to when we arrived. Our server was nice and I am also happy when they allow a large party to split checks. I ordered the catch of the day which was halibut. It was good but not great, it was a bit fishy in my opinion. We had a great experience at Legends. Went with a group of 6. We had early reservations, at 4:30 and got to experience their happy hour drink specials and menu. The Old Fashioneds were really good and only $8. We split appetizers-a tomato avocado stack and tuna tartar tacos-so good! Some of us had the French onion soup and I also had the shrimp tacos. Delightful place to get a great steak! Everyone at my table was thoroughly impressed with their dishes. To note: this is an "à la carte" style steakhouse where sides aren't included, rather the mashed potato and one asparagus is a "garnish." Everyone was pretty impressed with everything on their plate. I got the Caesar and Mac and cheese for dinner, and it was so delicious! I decided on a French 75 for my drink, and it was easily the best cocktail I got while in Breckenridge. Hubby and I went for an early evening 4:45pm dinner (only rez we could get) on a Saturday during our ski trip to Brec and it was already packed. We ordered the Bone Marrow & Tartare for appetizer to share. On main course we got the 12oz Bison Strip Special and the 16oz Ribeye. The steaks were perfectly cooked and flavorful and the Garlic Broccolini side dish was really tasty. Overall food was good and service was great. The only downside was the cut of the steak wasn't very good for the money they charged. Tried to go next door to Aurum for happy hour, and couldn't get a seat--at 4:30. There was a 2 hour wait. We stopped in Legends and got seated without a reservation because it was before 5pm. Lol. Probably the most expensive dinner we've ever had, but zero complaints! We shared the caprese salad, unique with avocado. Delish! Also shared the porterhouse, and scallops. Steak was tender and flavorful. Scallops were better than the steak. Not chewy, perfectly done. An old place with a cool Western vibe. Seems like a lot of locals at the bar. I want to preface this review with clarifying that aspects of our meal were undoubtedly deserving of 5 stars: the service, cocktails, and a few dishes were nothing short of incredible. However, a few faux pas with the food resulted in a 4 star rating. By our own mistake we did not have a reservation in Breckenridge on a holiday weekend and were struggling to find a restaurant that would seat 8 people. After putting our name down at multiple restaurants, The Legends called us in about in hour saying they could seat us. We arrived early and had a drink at the bar. The bartender was not only kind, but made us incredible cocktails. I had a gin cosmo, others enjoyed manhattans and old fashioneds. Once seated, our waiter greeted us and was as friendly as possible. He gave us a few recommendations, including a rec to order the Mac n cheese side because it was so good. He was 100% correct because it was hands down the BEST Mac n cheese I had ever tasted. I split the 16oz strip steak with someone else. I could tell the meat was fresh and the cut was flavorful, but I had a large tendon running though the middle of my portion which was un-chewable. Those who ordered the filet and surf and turf could not have said better things about their steaks, and underscored that they were cooked perfectly. The scallops on the surf and turf were also perfectly cooked and not rubbery. The salmon and risotto was also excellent, with the risotto being the true star. For dessert we tried the crème brûlée and the carrot cake. The crème brûlée was perfectly sweet and silky. The carrot cake was stale. It was not moist whatsoever and you could tell we received an old piece that had been in the fridge for a while. Overall, this an excellent restaurant for a steak night. Service is unmatched here. Food was amazing l. We were there for my bday and our 10 th anniversary and they asked us to get up before we finished our drinks after our meal so they could sit someone else. They had no concern for the special occasion. We spent a lot of $. The manager Chris Kumar was just as rude as the host. Don't bother coming to this place for a special occasion if you want to be treated like your business matters. Also don't bother using open table because when you arrive they will tell you they do not honor those reservations. Bad ending that should have been a great night. We have been to happy hour a few times and it's always been fine. Sadly dinner in September (shoulder months?) was pretty sad. The only good thing was our server Hampton. I ordered the tomato/mozz/Avacado salad which was bland and the mozz was basically the crappy brick stuff you get in a cheap grocery store (cubed and not close to being fresh). Had mussels for dinner - the mussels were literally the size of my pinky nail! If you can't get quality then don't offer it! Particularly at the price it's offered at! We are Breck locals and I highly recommend Legends. We've been for dinner and enjoyed our steaks (prepared perfectly). We've taken family and they loved it as well. We recently went for happy hour with some friends. I made a reservation, but didn't realize you can't make a reservation for happy hour (you can at some spots in town). When I realized my mistake, Katie was quick to find a place for us on the patio outside. She was very attentive & friendly--didn't forget us even though we were out back. When the rain moved in, Katie helped us with seats at the bar. There we met Nicole--she's super fun to talk to. Ask her about her claim to fame and her dad. :) The food was good. My husband had a crab cake sandwich, and I had a wedge salad (it's not a wedge, it's really a regular salad). My hubby and I love checking out old bars and he came across this one that seemingly had a good menu. We sat down right away at the bar and was greeted by a friendly bartender. We received our drink really fast while looking over the menu. After deciding on food as we weren't starving, just something small to eat, we found some good choices. The scallops (I ordered as an accompaniment) were cooked good, just wasn't sure about the balsamic vinegar on the bottom...it was a little overpowering to the taste of the scallops. The lobster escargot was a MUST try! This was very delicious and the bread served with it was really good with great charred flavor. The bone marrows were definitely a miss as they were served cold but was quickly remedied and heated up...but still wouldn't recommend.
