Our first visit here, last year, was a big miss - we ordered 8 piece meal, and the chicken was super dry, like it had been in a warmer for hours. It was mid-afternoon, not a popular time, so I vowed to not visit at 'unbusy' time. So, I was baited by the new app and its rewards; l got some good deals, and our last two visits the food was just as expected, order ready on time, hot and correct. I do love that KFC original and that mashed potato gravy. Packaging is a mix of paper/plastic, would love to see all compostable. I was the only customer in that store and they must've not noticed me walk in because I saw one of the employees pick up a piece of chicken that fell on the floor and put it back in the oven. KFC has really turned it around recently. They were on a downward trend for years at most locations I went to and now I find myself there at least once a month, and yes, it's still because of the chicken sandwich and how good they are at this location specifically. Last night the manager was dealing with some frustrating supply issues (the sandwiches and the Honey Barbecue chicken are so good that everyone wants them and they're sold out by 8) but handled it like it was nothing, kept the operation running smoothly and was extremely calm and polite. We've been to this KFC twice now and both times the people working have been amazing. We just tried the cheese curds and they were hot and freshly made. Mike, Trevor, and Jimmy set us up with a really great meal and were super kind and funny. It's absolutely worth stopping by for hot food and good people. read more

We have been seeing all of the ads for pot pies so my husband went to the KFC drive through in Astoria around 5:30 and was told that they hadn't made them for the day, so then we decided to order the bucket of chicken meal for $20, well then they hadn't made the chicken and would have to go to all of the trouble of getting it from the back freezer?? She sounded like she could not make it back there or that it was too much to ask for her to cook food on the menu. Also the $20 was not available and it is only available one day a week. Which was not explicit on the menu. Then we tried to order one of their bowls they had been advertising, and they didn't have the ingredients to make any of them??? Needless to say we left with nothing because she was unable to make any of the food on the menu. She also had the attitude that we weee bothering and inconvenience her by even being there. It would be understandable if we were trying to order 5 minutes before closing but this was at 5:30 at night, prime time for dinner. We left stunned, upset and confused. Why even be open if you can't make anything on the menu at dinner time. Very disappointing! Why pay for advertisement of your chicken pot pies if you are not even going to make them when they are ordered?? I have NEVER experienced this low of a level of customer service in my life. I'd give a 0 star if I could. When we first walked in the employee was mopping the entryway with dirty mop water that smelled horrible. I had to use the restroom and it was so gross, smelled like pee there was no toilet paper or paper towels and a dripping pipe on the bottom of the sink that was overflowing from a small bucket placed to catch the water. Needless to say, I didn't use the bathroom. When we received our food my wife didn't even get chicken with her potato bowl so she had to wait on that. The chicken bowl was bland. I got a 3-piece chicken and it was hot and good. The lobby was dirty no tables were clean and there was food on the lobby floor and under all the tables. I'm a little concerned how their kitchen looks. The staff seemed like they hated their jobs and was listening to music I wouldn't allow in a kitchen and talking loudly about their personal life. I wished we would have walked out since nobody was going through the drive-in or into the restaurant itself. This should have been our first sign. They first told me that they couldn't do chicken buckets but could do a family one that included a half fallen of soda. They refused to lower the price when I didn't want the soda. Haven't been there in over a year because of the food , cleanliness of the place and the workers lack of any work ethic, Went there today because I was told new management and it was a lot better, the workers were a lot better the place was a little cleaner but honestly I have never seen chicken drumsticks and wings that small , even the thighs were the smallest I have had. Has kfc bred chickens to be small or what . We had a 20 dollar fill up and it was a smaller bucket only 3/4 full , then we only got two sides, the chicken had been sitting awhile you could tell. If i could give zero stars, i would. I cant say the food was bad, but the lobby was absolutely disgusting. There was no one eating inside, no one in the drive through so there was zero excuse to not be sweeping the floors, wiping down the tables etc. there was a CIGARETTE BUTT on the floor. The size of the flies around the table were impressive. Our daughter had to use the bathroom and the garbage was full, paper towels were out and everything of course was dirty. 5/17/2019 I visited the store. It was a FRIDAY NIGHT at 6:30pm. HOW do you run out of chicken tenders and extra crispy chicken. The store was not busy and I was one of 3 maybe 4 people in there. They could not even comment on when they would have more out or if any were in the fryer. The staff did all they could to avoid the front cash register. I had pulled up to the drive through window to find a sign saying it was not operable and had to go inside. That should have been a HUGE tipoff! Horrible customer service (none to be exact). I try to be fair with my reviews and I'll even overlook a few things that might not be the fault of an employee but how in the world can you screw up my order EVERY SINGLE TIME? I'm serious. This place has never gotten our order correct at the drive-thru. Ever. Today, we got more chicken than we ordered (bonus, I guess) and were shorted two sides. I accept that mistakes happen occasionally but every freaking time? Plus, the potato wedges were cold. I believe we're done with this place. Nearby Warrenton seems to be growing. We'll just pray for Popeye's to show up in the future. Their chicken is worlds better and they appear to be able to hire people who can count. Sorry, Colonel. No more finger lickin' at this loser. Follow up: I did send a letter of complaint to KFC through their website. It was a form letter. They have you click on the things that may have bothered you. The last 4 times we stopped at this particular location they charged us for everything we ordered but forgot to put everything in the bag or put something cheaper that we didn't order in place of what we ordered. Red head in drive thru very rude, and disrespectful. We had difficulties hearing each other because of the older drive thru speaker and try to correct my order.
