I haven't eaten at KFC for the past 5 years probably and for some reason when the BF suggested KFC, I kinda started craving for it. KFC scares me though. I just keep thinking it's not chicken so I never want to eat it. Thinking that I'm eating "chicken" that had no head, multiple arms and legs, and no feature is just gross but BF reassured me that it is in fact chicken so I believed him. This KFC is actually pretty clean and spacious. The menu looks so different from when I last stepped inside one and didn't know what to order. BF just ordered a 10pc chicken with 2 sides and 5 biscuits. It didn't sound like a lot of food for $18 but it was. Mmmm I missed my yummy fatty biscuits with butter and potato wedges that I scarfed those down and was full after one piece of chicken after that. Now I know why I don't eat KFC. I felt like I've gained a trillion pounds from just eating a biscuit some potato wedges and a piece of chicken. Service here was so friendly! The guy Anthony, I'm assuming he's the manager was so funny making jokes and just making me laugh. really ... who doesn't love a bucket of fried chicken? craving for some, i stopped by this particular KFC and was surprised to find my fried goodness all packed up into a PINK bucket instead of their usual red ones. apparently, KFC is trying to fundaise a goal of $8.5 million towards breast cancer! it might seem a little ironic that all that deliciously heart clogging stuff you're about to eat is going to somehow help find a cure for breast cancer (while slowly killing you in the process) ..... but i guess at least you can feel a little less guilty about eating it since its (somehow) going towards a good cause. If you know me, you'll know I LOVE KFC. If I could I'd eat it everyday but calories, money, and well...this KFC just ain't that good. The quality of the chicken is just OK. Sometimes the chicken is too soggy and sometimes the pieces are too small. I've opened up my combo meal before to find the dingiest piece of leg and thigh ever. I know I'm small, but I want my chicken pieces big! In general you can't go wrong with the sides and there's a lot of promotions going on all the time like monday there's a two piece chicken & corn meal for $3. I'd also check in your mail for any coupons. WARNING, THEY RUN OUT OF HOT WINGS A LOT. SO ALL Y'ALL HOT WINGS FAN OUT THERE BEWARE. I've gone through the drive through several times only to be graced by a voice over the speaker "ooo, we out of hot wings." Needless to say I was very upset. The employees are pretty friendly. I had a 19th birthday party here before and the employees were super accommodating with all the random and loud students coming in. My boyfriend and I were watching the South Park episode about KFC and suddenly had a craving for it so we decided to come here. Bad mistake. The chicken was just simply not crispy enough because not that many people come here so all the chicken's just sitting there. The corn wasn't good either!! They are always hiring....Do they ever train their new employees? Apparently, according to these new(er) employees 1) You don't need to silverware to eat mashed potatoes/gravy and mac and cheese 2) EXTRA honey and butter for biscuits literally means one of each only 3) Dry popcorn chicken doesn't really require the BBQ sauce I asked for....glad the KFC cashier knows my tastes better than me. The Drive Threw Greeting was literally "KFC." staff was horse playing instead of working. after watching them for a couple minutes, the cook body blocked the drive window and the "KFC" guy took my order deep in the back while the cashier looked the other way. First things first: I love KFC. I love the chicken and the biscuits (OMG BISCUITS NOM NOM NOM) and even though I know it's terrible for me I love eating it. However, this particular KFC location has one glaring flaw that sets it apart from the rest: it never has chicken. Let me say that again: It. Never. Has. Chicken. I try it about every other month (that's about how long it takes for me to forget about my last terrible experience) and every time I place my order I get the same response: "I'm sorry, we're out of breasts/wings/dark meat/Original/Crispy/CHICKEN. It will be 5-30 minutes until the next batch is ready." Sometimes they're also out of potatoes. And y'know, five minutes is one thing. Thirty, when I'm sitting in the drive-thru and I have hungry kids waiting at home? And this happened the LAST time I was here too? Screw it, Del Taco is next door. My only theory on this occurrence is that some skinflinty manager doesn't want chicken to go to waste, and so they only cook up the minimum they think they're going to need -- which inevitably leaves them short. Since writing my previous interview I have definitely come here less frequently. That being said, my latest visit was pleasantly surprising. I'm aware that the entire franchise is undergoing a "re-colonelization" process to get back to its roots. I'm not sure if this particular franchise has gone through that yet, but my latest trip seemed as if they had. My chicken was especially delicious and tasted like it used to. Overdue review. They have the most disrespectful staff. They took my order and when I pulled up to the window were all laughing and looking at me finally took my money. Then they said thank you and signal me to leave. I said I need my food and they all stood around still laughing and looking at me. If I could give this place a zero stars I would. My mom was met with extreme disrespect. All my mom wanted was to get a four piece chicken but without the sides. However the lady there wanted to be rude and even say GODDAMN to her. I knew this one's reputation, but my kids really wanted KFC so I gave them a chance. Just the worst. Never again! 1. I gave my order 3 times, and every time the guy got it wrong. 2. Finally read it back right, so I paid and went to park. Looked at the receipt. A bunch of stuff was missing. 3. Knocked on the door, someone finally came over, said they'd get a manager. Went back to wait in my car with a half dozen other pissed off people whose lunch break was almost over. 4. The same guy comes out after 10 minutes to my car. I tell him what's missing, he gets it wrong again. 5. I write it down on the receipt for him, he takes it, tells me he will be back with our food and will also tell me how much more $$ I owe. (!!!) 6. To be fair, when he finally comes back with our food, he didn't charge me for the stuff they forgot after all. Which is good because they messed up the drinks. 7. It's been awhile since I've been to a KFC so I stopped here on my way to a Rivercats game to pick up some food. Usually, when I go through drive-thru through KFC, I usually get screwed in terms of not getting what I ordered. That day, I decided to walk in since I was ordering food for five other people. Each person wanted a different side in their 3 piece meal and I figured it's easier to do it at the counter. After placing the order and paying, then the waiting started. Then, I get called over and am told that they are short on drumsticks and only have thighs. Then, called over again and said that they don't have enough breast pieces at the moment and wanted to sub in the boneless original recipe instead. Sigh...sure go for it. After I got all my food in a bag, made sure the chicken was correct. I headed out and met up with my group. We opened up all the meal boxes and...the sides were wrong. Some wanted mac and cheese and they got cole slaw. The sides weren't as big a deal as they were just placed in the wrong boxes but it's kind of agitating to go somewhere and not have the most faith about whether they can execute my order. As this is the only KFC in Davis, I doubt that my comments will affect their business but I hope that they can improve upon the visit that I experienced not too long ago. read more

The last time i came the customer service was garbage. Food is what it is, just plain fast food. Decided to give it another chance. Sure enough customer service is still garbage. The employees have no customer service skills, even when you go out of your way to say "please" and "thank you" they are still rude. They seem miserable to the point where it made me wonder wether i should even eat my food! Seriously it should never be like that. The management must not care cuz all the yelp reviews say the same thing. The cashier at the window doesnt even speak when you pull up, just says price and barely acknowledges. I didnt even want my drink after she handed it to me with her finger nails as long as her dam finger! That just looks dirty and unappealing. The lobby is closed so you cant see who is cooking or how your food is being cooked and handled. The reputation of this place is garbage because of these type of employees. Worst fast food I have ever had. I really should go back for a refund but I'm just too traumatized by the meal. Chicken was so dry I could barely swallow it. And one piece had a bad smell. The service here is awful, you'll wait 2-3 times as long as any other fast food place in town, for food that isn't any better, and often might be worse. If you have food allergies eat somewhere else, you can ask for something removed and they'll say okay but give you the original meal every time. I have no idea how they're still open. read more

Normally I don't write reviews for fast food places, but this place was exceptional. First off, I was watching the Food Network the other day (always a bad idea, it just leads to cravings) and they were airing a segment on fried chicken. Within seconds my mouth begins to water and my stomach is calling out for fried chicken. So naturally I end up heading out in search of fried chicken. But being in Davis, I can't think of any places with fried chicken so I head to the sure thing. Good Ol' Kentucky Fried Chicken. Now I haven't had KFC in a long time, but this was a craving that wouldn't subside and I had to do what was best for my stomach. I walk in and am greeted by one of the nicest fast food workers I have EVER met. I wish I had gotten his name so I could give him props on here, but I didn't :(. Having not been to a KFC in a while, he helped me dissect the menu and eventually helped me settle for leg and thigh combo. I also asked for a side of macaroni and a biscuit, but he informed me that the macaroni was getting toward the end and wouldn't be of the best quality. Given the new information, I quickly thanked him for the heads up and ordered the mashed potatoes instead. He also said that if I didn't mind waiting a couple extra minutes I could have a fresh biscuit. Again I thanked him for the information and gladly waited only 2 minutes for a fresh toasty biscuit. This KFC has definitely seen better days. The place is almost always empty, and it's not in a very good location, business-wise. The food is standard KFC fare. Doesn't really taste any different than other KFCs I've been to.
