I don't know how I never tried Cracchiolo's since it's an institution in Woodland, but my best…read morefriend's husband always raves about their sandwiches so I finally tried one and jeeze have I been missing out. The Cracc's PR was great!!! Warmed up with loads of meat. The flavor combinations were perfect on the pretzel bun. And the sandwich was huge! They make the sandwiches right there for you so it can take a little while if they're busy, but they're so friendly and helpful, they get it out as fast as possible. The market is a great little market. Surprisingly they have great prices on meats. Everyone was really nice and helpful. I'll definitely be back!

My dad wanted to try Cracchiolo's Market & Deli for some time after driving by it in Woodland. So…read moreafter dropping a friend off at the airport, we made our way up to Woodland and ordered sandwiches for lunch. It is a full functioning grocery store so there weren't any tables or places for us to eat our sandwiches there. We ended up taking everything back to my house to eat it for lunch. The service was relatively fast and the ladies working at the deli counter were very friendly. I ordered a Reuben sandwich for my husband and the French dip sandwich for me. My dad ordered the Italian sandwich and we also ordered a side of pasta salad and a side of potato salad to share. When we got back to my house, we dug in. My husband thought the Reuben was decent; not the best he has ever had, but definitely not the worst. I thought my French dip was also just OK; even with the a jus broth to dip it in, it was a little tough to eat. The meat was a little thicker than I would have liked and nothing about it really wowed me. My dad thought the Italian sandwich was decent. All in all, these were pretty average deli sandwiches. Not something I'm sure I would drive all the way to Woodland or go out of my way to get, but if I were more local, worth a visit when a deli sandwich craving strikes.

Joe made my husband's surprise 50th birthday absolutely magical. From the minute we started…read morecorresponding, I could tell that he was going to be the perfect chef for us. He gauged my husband's culinary tastes and asked thoughtful questions before he developed a menu and plan for the evening. I had a few choices to make on the menu, but my input was mere tweaks. Joe and his sous chef Joanna (she was also great) arrived about two hours before the party and it was clear he had done a lot of prep work before coming. Joe had quite the obstacle to overcome when he discovered the oven was not heating, and he pivoted without skipping a beat and was able to make the entire meal stovetop. What was particularly impressive about Joe was the way he and Joanna hosted. They were very warm to our guests and made it clear that he wanted to take all of the stress off of me and make the event special for every guest. I was really able to enjoy the evening and be present for the party in a way I am not typically able to be present when I am responsible for the cooking. This was an incredible gift. Once we were done with the meal, Joe and Joanna cleaned up and left the kitchen in impeccable shape. They did all of the dishes and packed up our leftovers for us to enjoy later. This was such a wonderful final touch to close out an event that would not have come together without his delicious food. Our guests raved about everything they tried -- the crab appetizer, the scallops, the duck confit, the cassoulet, the mushrooms, the salad, the beautifully presented white chocolate and strawberry dessert. From start to finish, it was delicious, it was lovely. The value was 100% there. Highly recommend GourmetGaude.
