I was a bit tentative about ordering here bc of the numerous bad reviews but I decided t check it out anyway. It's 7:15 pm on a FRIDAY Feb 26th & this place was hopping. The drive thru was 8 cars deep the entire time I was here. I had to park bc the parking lot & drive thru are pretty hinky & I didn't want to block people coming on off Groton Hwy. I went inside & there were at least 5 other ppl waiting in line there. The kitchen staff were bustling around in the back filling up orders rapid fire. And the cashier was helping every single person who walked in the door including the take away orders for Grub Hub & Door Dash. The cashier wasn't very chatty. She was all business bc it was so busy. So maybe ppl shouldn't be so hard on the staff. The Pandemic has been super hard on people. And you have no idea what's going on in their life. I think she was just trying to get orders filled ASAP. I ordered a chicken sandwich Big Box which came with Fries, Mac n cheese, Cole slaw & a Med drink for $9.99. I meant to order a regular box but it was fine bc my dog ate my entire white meat Chicken sandwich bc he was so hungry & he's super picky). I actually ordered another chicken sandwich in the parking lot for me & he ended up eating half of that....Lol). The orders was prepared perfectly & exactly as ordered. Brand new building after the old one was torn down, same lousy service and low quality as I remember. I went through the drive-thru and ordered the Nashville Hot tenders meal. I forgot to mention which side I wanted, so I ended up with a mashed potatoes and gravy default that I will not eat. The food was underwhelming at best, chicken tenders soaking in Greasy sauce. Barely coded and not very spicy. The picture speaks for itself and I will not be returning to this KFC. If you're going to try this location, stick with a traditional bucket. Customer service is key when it comes to food. If it's good, likelihood of returning. If it's not, one time deal and make sure others know. It's really sad that this is the only KFC in the area but holy heck does it ever suck. They are almost always out of whatever it is you order (grilled chicken? wedges? Soda??) and the staff clearly doesn't care. The pieces of chicken that you actually do get are from the smallest and scrawniest birds with barely any meat on them. The only good (and available) things to eat are the pre packaged salads. I don't think KFC will be around for much longer. read more

My husband and I enjoyed chicken one afternoon when it was not busy. However twice we've had very bad experiences. I've been ordering from this place for a while now and today is the day that ends. Thanks to the female at the drive thru window by the name of destinee. I Usually have an ok experience but this female was very short and had an attitude with me today. Even shut the window in my face while I was finishing a sentence to ask her for sauces for my food. And gave me more attitude when she gave me the wrong sauce and I asked for the correct one. I think it's only fair that the customers that are making sure you get paid be treated with some respect instead we get shit customer service for spending our money. Have been back four times since Groton KFC reopened. It is all new. Staff is friendly and food has been hot and quickly served. I especially like the Georgia Gold tenders. I had no problems with it before. But it was an old store. First went there in the 70's I think. read more

Ordered KFC to be delivered by Grubhub. Never again. I have never liked their chicken, but I do love their cole slaw. However, had to order the chicken to complete the order. I asked for NO gravy on the mashed potatoes (the main ingredient in their gravy, it seems, is salt) but what do they do? They ADDED the gravy to the mashed potatoes. In the garbage. But the kicker? In the delivery instructions, I added to just knock on the door and leave on the stoop for no-contact delivery. The Grubhub driver shows up, knocks on the door and when I cracked it open, he is standing there with NO gloves, NO mask, with a freaking fountain drink in his hand! I told him it was a no-contact delivery and he is arguing with me that I didn't write it down (I did). I told him to put the bag down and leave. First thing I did was pour that soda down the drain, peel off all that nastiness off the chicken, throw out the mashed potatoes drained in gravy, and wiped down container of cole slaw. I did have gloves on. Never again. Never again will I use Grubhub and never again will I even consider buying from KFC. Ugh! read more

Just don't. Please, for your sake and sanity, stay away from this place. My southern dad was in town and craving fried chicken. We decided to try this place and I regretted it instantly. First they wont give you a total until you pull up to the window. The service is extremely slow and they dont even know their own menu. They forgot a main part of my order and the worst part was the chicken itself. We actually found a piece that wasnt cooked all the way through. The pieces that were cooked were so well oiled that it created it's own slip and slide on my plate. The mac and cheese was just gelatinous. I honestly cant think of one good thing about this meal. Worst KFC...we go there maybe once a year hoping it got better but this location is horrible. The food is poor quality and the staff are less than professional. Last night we ordered a lot of food for the family and it was worse than the last time. We ordered boneless and paid for it but when we got home it was not boneless. The chicken was not fully cooked and it was sitting in a half inch of oil in the bottom of the bucket. The sides were good but that's not why we went to KFC. Chicken is their job and it's always bad at this location. I don't recommend it to anyone. The management at this location needs to get it together. Brittany the shift leader needs to get control of her staff, i visited this location 4/25 and after the Cashier (tall,man w glasses) blamed me for his mistake, he charged me $15 for 6 chickens and b4 i placed my order i asked if there was a combo/deals , he told me KFC "has too many pictures on their menu and they only have six combos " with an attitude i should of left then . My order came to $28 i asked if the $15 chicken wings be refunded/removed and then he yelled out "need a refund she said the chicken wings are too expensive" after that I wanted a full refund and already lost my cool by that point especially after Britney wanted to get loud with me.Why didn't he just say I need a refund? I had my husband go the next day and order the same exact thing I ordered and it came to $19.88 so clearly he don't know what he's doing and must be used to getting cussed out Britney the "shift leader" wouldn't give me the receipt for my records either to make sure I was refunded the $ which i was a day later , horrible experience. read more

Personally there was nothing wrong! The only problem was that the gravy was too thick. I literally could not stop eating the boneless extra crispy chicken. The seasoning was especially good. All I will say is that go there for the chicken- not the sides. The service was ok but what do you expect for fast food. Relatively quick service. Over all great! read more
