Wish they had better chicken. Especially, when they're know for their chicken. Very dry and lacks flavor. You would think that with a new place they would make their food taste better but, unfortunately it's not like that. I got the bbq chicken tenders and the bbq looked and tasted like dry bbq sauce. Very oily and gross. Cole slaw was pretty good and drive thru guy was friendly. On 6/7/23 I went to this KFC, I have always had a good, positive experience and this visit was great. They were shorthanded that day, but Cashier, Jane and her co-worker were fantastic. We get take out from this KFC often. We had a terrible experience on our order last night. We ordered a standard 12 piece bucket which should be 3 each, breasts, wings, thighs, and drumsticks. We got a bucket with 6 thighs and 6 drumsticks. When placing the order, we were clear we wanted the mix of white and dark! The biscuits were hard as a rock! We had to put the gravy on them to be able to soften enough to eat them. The coleslaw was really good. We will go back but will check our order at the window. As some of the other guests have noted, this kfc seems to have lost the recipe. I've been to this location a few times in the past few months and I always hope that the next time I go, they'll improve!! No. They haven't. I got the 12 piece bucket and, like another guest noted, only drumsticks and thighs. No flavor. First go I got the crispy recipe... no flavor. I thought, maybe they stop using salt in this recipe? I'll try original recipe next time... Next time I got original recipe. Same thing. No flavor. Just no flavor!! Like they just don't use the "12 secret spices" that the original recipe flavor has. I gave it a rest for a few months while I tried the Taco Bell and Safeway for sushi... Safeway sushi is pretty good! Taco Bell is not so much. Went back to kfc last time I was in Kona and got the chicken tenders. Omg. So sad. Dry. Tasteless. Cold. No flavor. Saved most of it for my dogs. The biscuit was old and rubbery. Also no flavor. Lady at the register was very nice. However the chicken was inedible. By far the worst fast food chicken I've ever had. If it could be zero stars it would be. This location brings kfc to an all time low. Service was fast and friendly but is the only good that could be found. I don't know if it's is just kfc in Hawaii or a recipe change nation wide. Coleslaw is now white with no green color at all. Service was terrible, a woman at the drive thru cashier was very rude. I ordered 8 piece bucket, she must have not heard me right and asked me what kind of drinks and sauce right away. I got confused and asked her again what she was saying and she gave me an attitude saying what kind of sauce?! I told her I don't want sauce. Very disappointed! I have always loved KFC chicken. Being new to Kona, this is the first time I went to this KFC location. The employees were friendly. Prices are a bit steep but if the food is good I do not mind that much. I ordered a 12 piece meal and the total cost was over $42. When I got home I discovered I was only given thighs and drumsticks, no breast pieces. The drumsticks were all over cooked and dry. The thighs were OK but bordered on over cooked. Sad!!! read more

kona's KFC y'all need to do better. actually get new workers because yall have the absolute WORST customer service ever. placed an order 2/27 on the mobile app, the spicy KFC bowl wasn't listed on there just the original so i called them asap to add some adjustments. asked about the 8pc fill up bucket + 8pc tender meal if they could make the tenders nashville, person on the phone couldn't understand what i was trying to say. after repeatedly telling them she said we can't adjust you have to do it online etc it was a simple yes or no and when the "manager" came on the phone she started off rudely saying it would be an extra $4 charge then says you have to do it online which i kept telling her it doesn't let me, same thing when i told her the spicy bowl wasn't showing up on the app, being rude about the fact it's there it's there. and to top it off when my parents went to pick up the order, one of the employees was being rude to my mother started cussing at her.
