KFC is still that craving that can't be satisfied by anything else. Original recipe is where it's at! Best deal in town is the $10, 8-piece dark bucket with the app on Tuesdays. (You have to use the app for the best deals like most fast food chains). If you add sides, not such a great deal, the price goes up quick. I didn't put my order in until I parked in the lot and it was still ready in minutes. Service was friendly (but I did have to ask which order was mine in the mobile order pickup shelf? for lack of a better term. The identifying tickets were facing the other direction toward the kitchen instead of toward the customer. But that's only a minor detail. They were getting busy and they were still friendly. Only other minor thing is small parking, lot and hard to get facing the right direction on Rainier Ave.. The driveway in the back from Shattuck Ave. is blocked off, so there's pretty much only one way in or out if you don't count the drive-thru exit which is really just an out. I had to kind of do a loop behind on Shattuck and come back around on 7th to get pointed north on Rainier Ave. to get in there.. But all that means is you need to plan ahead a little and figure out which way your car is pointing if you head over there. read more

Biscuits. This review is only concerning biscuits. I got a couple of biscuits yesterday. Unfortunately, they were way too salty. They were fluffy but there was so much salt they were almost inedible. I am extremely disappointed in the food I received. I ordered a family meal. The chicken was not thoroughly cooked. I asked for mashed potatoes and macaroni and received Cole slaw. I ordered two kids meals and did not receive the fries. There were at least 5 staff, and no one in the lobby so I am not sure how things got missed. The bathroom was unsanitary. KFC must've paid a good amount of marketing dollars to be able to get a 5 minute promotion at Ultra Miami, which in my case, this tactic worked. I went w/ their 20 piece hot wings & Nashville hot sandwich. Taking a bite of the hot wings, my first impression was how good the breading was. It was crunchy on the outside w/ the meat just right on the inside. I found it very addicting, in which when I started to get full, I was pushing myself to eat more which was probably an unhealthy choice on my part. The last thing to try was the Nashville Hot Sandwich. I had expectations that it would be spicy. However, it was not spicy at all. It felt as if the staff forgot to add the spice because it felt like I was eating any ordinary chicken sandwich. Okay. So... I have been here before a couple of times and the service has been fairly decent! The food is usually always great. But today was awful and I am done going there. First of all, they need to learn some basic customer service.. the gentlemen that was taking my order looked annoyed to be there and didn't look like he even wanted to talk to me. I never in a millions years would have thought I would be reviewing an A&W, let alone KFC, but I think the service is worth a nod. I stopped in on Fathers Day at open to grab a bite after running some errands in the neighborhood. The last time I ate here was about 4 years ago and I have to tell you that it made me sick as a dog, but stomach was on tilt for at least 3 days and my colon and guts were mad at me for at least two more days after that. I was reluctant, but the combination of many years and wanting something different brought me in this day. Thought I would try a cheap burger meal but that didn't exist. Most places have a meal for like $4, but the cheapest meal here was pushing $7. I then decided to switch to the KFC menu and ended up getting a chicken sandwich meal. It was a good deal, I got a chicken sandwich, with bacon and two cheeses, bottomless A&W root beer from an ice cold mug and fries. Sandwich was decent, nothing special, fried were crisp, but I didn't care for the breading or flavor. Already told you that the root beer was good. Not a glowing endorsement for the restaurant. I can however say unlike last time, I didn't get sick. The reason I decided to write this review was the service. Every employee had a big smile, engaged me and appeared to be happy to be there, even if it was happy to have a job. It was a more pleasant experience than I've had in a long while. It's rare the find service or even a positive attitude in fast-food. I felt good just being in these guys presence and they honestly appeared to be concerned that I enjoyed my meal. Not having a burger, I can't compare, but with Ezell's and Popeye's both in Renton I think you can't find better chicken, but neither one, on a great day could match the attitude and service that these crew members provided today. read more

Went through drive through to grab some lunch. Ordered a chocolate shake and two extra crispy breasts. (Pausing for the chuckle) I went to receive my order and put it in the passenger seat. Then they closed the window. I looked at them and waved them down, "hey! Where's my chocolate shake?" "Oh yeah, just a sec!" he said. For some reason I thought I should check my order... I saw that the order was wrong, one breast and one leg. He handed me my shake and I told him the order was wrong. He took the bag did some rummaging in the store and returned with a different box. I put it in my passenger seat and started to drive away. I decided to check the order; it was wrong again. So I illegally made a U turn to get back in line at the drive through.... when I got to the ordering point, I told him again that he got the order wrong and I was driving through. As I approached the window, he handed me another bag and just told me to keep the other one. In the end, I got my two pieces of extra crispy fried breasts, and an extra wing, but in the process, I lost my biscuit and two sides. I was done at this point I wasn't gonna drive around again. They never get drive through orders correct at this location. Nearly every time, I get home and something is missing. I have also been short changed at this location. Chicken is usually dry from sitting out too long...several times the slaw has been stale (fermenting!). This is my favorite KFC. I will make an effort to come to this area and this location. I was there earlier this week. I was really hungry but had an appointment soon and I was trying to make it on time. This location opens earlier than the other chicken places so it was nice that it was able to work into my schedule. I can get a 2 piece chicken meal with mashed potatoes with gravy, biscuit, and drink for $7.49 and since its an A&W fusion store. I can get A&W root beer ice cream freezie all blended up. This is my happy meal. Everything was hot and fresh. Their customer service is excellent here. They keep me updated on any delays and serve it to me at my table. read more

I stopped in to give them a try as I was out for a walk in the area, and had never actually stopped in at this location before. It had been a year or two since I had been in a KFC/A&W combo restaurant. So I ordered a chicken little and A&W Root Beer expecting that the Root Beer would be handled the way it used to...the actual mixed version behind the counter instead of a normal fountain drink The first issue is that they didn't have their chip/pin reader working. That's a huge issue for them as that makes them liable for any fraud that occurs. I pointed this out to them. The employees seemingly didn't care. I asked if they were a franchise or corporate owned location. The employees admitted they didn't know. One guy (seemed like a contractor doing renovation work) said they were a franchise location, part of the Harman group of franchises. After a moment of waiting I realized that I was supposed fill my own cup (no big deal) from a normal dispenser in the lobby. I guess I was expecting the old A&W way of doing things on that, but still not a big deal. The actual problem here was with the soda machine. It was kicking out so much carbonation that I could barely get any soda into the cup. I kept having to drain the foam off and then put more soda in, then drain more foam, then add more soda. It took me a few minutes just to get a small cup 3/4 full and it tasted off, very off. I checked and it wasn't because they had run out of syrup either. It seems like the machine itself wasn't working right. The worst part was the chicken little. It was not what I was expecting. I've always gotten the chicken littles since I was a kid. This was on a different, weird tasting, non-square bun and had a gross tasting pickle (and I like pickles) on it. The chicken also tasted a little odd. I'd gotten this to go, so hadn't gotten into the sandwich until I'd already left and was a few blocks away. At that point it wasn't worth my time to turn around and complain, so I just tossed the rest of the sandwich and soda out, unfinished. All in all a fairly disappointing visit.
