The reason for the review is that they just spent a lot of money to remodel the store and it looks really nice - except for the painted countertop at the soda machine where the paint is already worn off! It is clear by reading the reviews that this business does not care about customers, but does KFC even have any brand integrity!?! The person at the drive thru window was not wearing a mask, it was under her chin. I felt very unsafe. She just tried to hold her breath while serving us instead of just pulling on her mask. There was an old A&W in Kent until about 2008 when it closed down. This made me a little sad, and then I noticed one day that there was an A&W in Renton. I was super happy and I ended up going there. Well, the fact that it shared a building and a front counter with a KFC should have been a red flag, but no. I ordered a classic burger with fries and a soda. Totally disappointed. Uugggh! Just came from this KFC. The cashier wouldn't let me pick my sides, just what was is the picture for the 8pc meal. I could get different styles of chicken though. Gravy for the mashed potatoes was watery, the mashed potatoes were runny too. My son ordered menu item K8 which is the famous bowl, but we got A8 which was bite size corn dogs. When I went to check everything, the cashier claimed everything was okay. Stupid me... he was offended that I questioned the order. I just should have double checked the receipt as we left which was given AS we were picking up the meal. KFC or A&W? At this place, you get both. I've only had chicken here and generally it's the chicken strips meal. The food and service has all been fine, not over-the-top, but satisfactory. My main complaint is the size of the chicken strips, for example, seem to have shrunk so the pieces are only about finger-sized leaving you possibly wanting to go up and grab an extra side dish. read more

It's lunch time (about 11am) on a Tuesday. There is only 2 people working with one of two cash register/card reader out of order at the same time receiving a delivery. What do they do? They lock the front door without putting a sign on the door, so folks wanting to eat there are trying to break open the door giving us who ate eating inside forced to open the door and explain what's going on. I've been to this location several times in the last few months . I also frequent another kfc location near my job in shoreline wa. I can tell your location is lacking big time because your willing to sell customers what should be throw away or donate food . I ordered a chicken sandwich one day and it was like the most nasty chicken breast I've ever seen hard meat that's dry completely inedible . Today I ordered a large lemon cake and surprise ! It's not the cold fresh one from the fridge like the kfc in shoreline does, it's the expiring one on the display . The icing is melty the cake tastes expired . When your cutting costs by selling these bad products you loose customers , I will not be coming to this location anymore due to the penny pinching taking place. People eat out they want the fresh good food the good peace of meat they are not just going to be satisfied with the garbage leftovers I'm sorry but this is just absurd ..... this cake expired 07/23/19 or was made then eaither way you sold me old trash product that was not preserved in the fridge like it was supposed to be . Worst KFC ever! The employees are plain LAZY! They never, ever have any chicken ready. I mean never. How are you going to be out of chicken at 7pm? The man running the drive thru doesn't give a crap, that's totally obvious. I ordered an original breast and 2 thighs. He tells us that they are out of original breasts. I ask him to cook one, he told me No, that it would take 20 minutes. There are 4 cars in Me at the drive-through, so I say that by the time we reach the window, it should be done. He says no. He says we can have 3 thighs, I'm irritated but I just want my food so I say fine. After almost 20minutes we reach the window. Now the cashier says that they are out of thighs too. Are you freaking kidding me? Why sell all your thighs if you know someone had already ordered one?! At this point I am beyond mad, after a 20 minute wait they have not one item I wanted? I tell him that he needs to throw some chicken in the fryer right now, I am going to sit here until it's done. He tried to argue with me, telling me it's too long a wait. I yelled that had he put the chicken in the fryer when I first suggested it at the window, it would've been done by now! They just plain didn't want to do it! I was not leaving without The food I ordered. After some haggling and arguing, he finally relents and says that they will make fresh chicken, but it'll be a 13 minute wait. I say fine and tell him I will park and pick it up inside. We drive around the block, which took about 5 minutes, and finally park. When I get inside the store I'm astounded. They still haven't bothered to drop any fresh chicken! Seriously?! The employee, in no particular hurry, finally throws the food in, and again tells me or will be a 13 minute wait. Ok so you tell me 13 minutes at the window, and now it's another 13 minutes once I get into the store? What have they been doing? I saw 3 employees standing around, doing nothing. No cleaning, no customer service, definitely no cooking. Finally...after a grand total of almost 40 minutes...my food is ready. 40minutes for one 3 piece combo! And after all that wait, the only thing fresh is the chicken. My.potatoes were cold, the Cole slaw watery. Honestly I felt like flipping the whole thing on the floor and walking out. Oh yes I almost forgot...upon leaving I asked the drive thru guy who the manager was....oh yeah, you guessed it....HE was the Manager! I will never return. The management is corrupt, lazy, and straight out lies to customers. It seems like at nighttime, they just want to clean the place up and get out. They don't drop any new chicken, and instead of cooking it to order they just tell the customer "Too Bad". No apologies, no offer of a free piece...nothing. This place should be shut down. Sometimes you don't get the same service offered by Kentucky Fried Chicken. As you know owners bought the franchise of the company. You assumed that employee training are the same. Somehow in Renton I always don't get the same service I am getting from other KFC. For more than two years now the employees are usually not following direction for example, I ordered 8 piece original KFC with meal and when I open it one chicken is a little spicy. That mistake is okay but when you come back and asked them to get an 8 piece of KFC original and you want the mash potato replaced it with macaroni and cheese and they said they can't...I get frustrated because the other KFC were allowing me and was very accommodating. The other KFC always give me the option but here in Renton they don't and always in a hurry. So far the KFC employee in Renton are still not improving for the last two years. read more

I have never given a review before, but the KFC on Rainier Avenue in Renton has unbelievably terrible service. My brother went through the drive through earlier this evening and ordered 8 pieces of chicken. Unfortunately he did not check the bag and when he got home there were only 3 pieces. He drove all the way back (from Kennydale) and told them he was shorted 5 pieces. They said they did not have chicken ready, but directed him to a place to park and said they would bring it to him when ready. He waited 30 minutes. As he waited, 4 other cars after him were also told to park and wait for their orders. The person came out and brought the orders to the other 4 cars, and then told my brother "Sorry, we are all out of chicken". He is now going to the KFC in Factoria. I waited 10 minutes @ the squawk box before I was even acknowledged while the drive through employee yakked with her friend in the car ahead of me...a fair assumption I think, considering the fact that no $ or food exchanged hands between these two. For my 10 minute wait I got...(1) A shriveled up drumstick that would barely feed a small dog. (2) A root beer float (looks nothing like the pic; no surprise there) that was so watery and unappealing, I had to pull over and throw it away in the first garbage I came to. (3) The impression from the employee that I was intruding on her time. All for $5.85! Most disturbing of all (and the reason I gave the drum stick to my dog) was the employee's hands...no gloves, long germ magnet fingernails decked out in germ magnet jewelry. Even with living a total of 3 blocks from this establishment, I may never return again. Not sure if they were just short staffed or short of hearing, but they didn't get anything right, with anyone's order. From walking in the door, to actually walking out, we spent over 30 minutes in there. I admit, our order may have been complicated. Hot wings are no longer on the menu, but we asked if they still carried them. The cashier said yes and gave us the sizes. We ordered 10 honey BBQ hot wings, ten. After waiting 20 minutes, we were informed they only had 7 hot wings and offered us 3 regular wings instead unless we wanted to wait for 3 hot wings. No thank you! I'll take the 3 regular wings (that beats the tiny versions anyhow) so we can get out of here. Only 10 more minutes passed & we were home free. When we finally opened our box, we had 7 hot wings & 3 regular wings none with honey BBQ sauce. At that point, we were near starving and ate the cold, dry, mismatched wings. I go here once in a while and the service is usually hit or miss. Sometimes they have what I want and sometimes they don't. Today I went there at about 11:15 am (posted hours open at 10:30 am) and no one spoke on the drive through after sitting there for 5 minutes. I figured maybe they were just starting the day and maybe had forgotten to turn it on or something. Drove up to the window and there was someone inside, lights on, but no one at the window. Sat there for a few minutes before deciding to just go in. The door was locked. The guy inside saw me and opened the door. I asked if they were still closed and he said, well they had some sides ready but no chicken. I asked if the posted hours were wrong and he said, no they just weren't ready yet. This seems very unprofessional. If you are not ready at posted hours, then change the posted hours. I left with no food and went to Fred Meyer instead. I'll probably just go there from now on. They have the chicken and the sides I wanted and they were open during posted hours! read more

I'm giving this place 2 stars and that is a HUGE stretch. The one SOLO front counter clerk was very sweet and professional. This location is a combination of KFC/A&W both owned by PepsiCo. She was working the best she could to serve the customers and keep the lobby clean with very little help during a lunch time rush. I've worked in restaurant work myself in the past and the way this location operated the day that we were in there was insane. My husband and I had our two daughters with us, one of which is 6 years old and has Autism both were quite hungry. They apparently ran out of chicken, something a chicken restaurant at lunch time should have had hot and ready. There was a young man in the back frantically battering up and frying more chicken as quickly as he could. As soon as he put the chicken out someone would take it and give it to the drive-thru customers and completely overlook those of us waiting inside for our food. I understand drive-thru is the "fast way" out of a FAST food restaurant but we had to wait over 25 minutes for our food. I am not kidding as I looked at the receipt time when they finally called my name. The poor cashier girl who was working the front counter by herself was almost in tears from dealing with so many lunchtime customers upset about waiting their entire lunch period just to get food (many got refunds and left) that I actually felt sorry for her when she said she was sorry for such a long wait. I hope this is a fluke and a one-time mess up because I don't see how they could possibly keep customers making them wait 20+ minutes inside and 10+ minutes on the drive-thru much longer. The "kicker" to our meal was after the extended wait the chicken was just okay and the rest of our food was about room temperature. :( Cashier girl earned the 2nd star for the review because I couldn't go below a 1 for the store itself. read more

Plus it doesn't help when I'm waiting to pull out of the drive through and there is a lady behind me LAYING on her horn. Where do you want me to go?? Pull out in front of a bus? KFC is pretty much the same from location to location. I always enjoy the mash potatoes and gravy and the coleslaw is very yummy! As for the chicken, it what you expect from KFC, secret herbs and spices are tasty and extra crunchy is crunchy tasty! This particular location seems to always be running on minimal supplies because it's always a 5-10 minute wait on any chicken I want to purchase. I am utterly amazed that they are still in business! Slowest drive-through ever. Crappy, cold food. Every time I try to come here it takes around 15-20 minutes to get food from the drive through. Today, it took 35 minutes before I decided to get a refund (who knows how long it would've taken me to get my food). No apologies given, no explanations offered, just rude service that ignored me and continued helping other customers once they knew I wanted a refund. I had my screaming, starving 2-year-old with me--no cares given.
