I haven't had KFC in a couple of years. Not because I'm one of those annoying "Oh I never eat fast food" people, but just because I never happened to go. I used to get the chicken strips meal all the time in HS and loved it. I got the chicken strips meal and the breading on the chicken is totally different. It is SO dry and not tasty. I had to choke it down. The mashed potatoes and mac n cheese... which I used to love... just tasted like mushy, mildly flavored processed non-food. The potato wedges even seemed kind of mushy. I felt so disgusting after eating here. I probably won't be back for a few more years. read more

Picked up some KFC last night because Pastalini (in the same complex) was closed. Ended up pretty happy with both our food - 8 piece meal of Original Recipe, biscuits, mashed potatoes and gravy, and potato wedges, and with the drive through service - clear, quick, no problems. Sometimes you just need some greasy fried chicken, and KFC is good for that. as they once advertised, finger lickin' good. Mashed potatoes and gravy as a side -- they give you a lot of gravy. Potato wedges as a side - not bad. Biscuits - pretty standard. KFC is like a once-per-year food for us... and we managed to have a good fried chicken experience for 2009! read more

Over 20 minutes for a double down combo and they forgot about my order. This happens every time I come here (I've never waited less than 10 minutes at this location, even on slow days). This location will never get my business again. Absolutely terrible, even for fast food. On to the sandwich. Well, what can I say about cheese, cheese sauce and bacon smashed between two boneless chicken breasts? On paper, this sounds like the most incredible culinary creation since some genius decided to apply fire to meat. The reality of the experience is decidedly "meh." The chicken was a bit soggy, the breading wasn't crisp, the cheese was in a really annoying semi-melted state, the bacon was thin and difficult to find with only 2 slices allotted per sandwich (they really should take a lesson from Wendy's on bacon) and the Colonel's sauce only served to make the two halves slide around. All in all, it's worth a gander if you're in to food as a guilty pleasure. (My god, that's going to give me a heart attack but it looks soooo gooood.) If not? I gave this kfc a second chance and regretted it. First time my order was completely messed up and got charged extra and waisted my lunch fixing the issue. The second time the chicken was slightly undercook and i brought back even the peices that were bit. Instead of fixing the issue the worker decided to dispute with me and still showed her the uncooked chicken. I requested a refund and left it as that. I will no longer go to this KFC. read more

I was upset about this place!! The workers clearly do not want to work. First of all the sign is not clear, and driving on Miramar st I missed it. I had to drive back to look for it a second time before i found it. It was like 9pm, and they looked closed. I drove arounded it and saw an employee who was standing there smoking. I thought "that's weird...is it open..it's only 9...they should be?" I seriously thought they were closed so I drove home only to check the times and find out they were in fact opened. You would not know it I swear. They probably do that on purpose so they don't have to serve anyone because everyone thinks they're closed! so mad, I was craving some KFC too. read more

It's a KFC and Taco Bell store at the same time. Not a big deal. There is a few places to sit so avoid the lunch hour. There is a parking lot in front of the restaurant but it is crowded as the store. There is a good music in the store but at the same time you need to listen a woman screaming the number of your order. The same woman takes your order and she is not so friendly but fast! KFC - Finger lickin good - Chicken Wings Near Me - San Diego, California

The chicken tastes good but beware the prices. The chicken in general seems smaller than average. Also the prices on the menu don't correspond to the actual prices entered at the register. I bought a combo and also added some individual items. When I received the receipt I noticed my individual item prices were almost double what the menu said. I asked about that and they said it is what it is, the menu isn't wrong and neither is the register. That doesn't make sense since the menu had the price at $1.19 and my receipt said $2.29. The attendant got the manager who said no the price is $2.29 but I asked why does it say that on the menu and she said she didn't know. There was no attempt to correct the over charge and after about 15 minutes waiting for my order, I just asked for a refund of the individual items. Ordered a K10 (3 piece meal) original style. When I get to the window the worker apologizes and says they don't have anymore breasts in original recipe. They offer the breast to be in extra crispy and I say "sure". No big deal right? They upgraded the soda size for the inconvenience which was nice and when I opened the box there was a cookie! So I thought, "Hey these guys really make up for the little things!" Then I continue to go through the order and notice not only were there only two pieces of chicken, but I was also missing one of my sides! Like really? I spoke to the cashier but she didn't know what to do so she called in the manger for me who started speaking with the cashier in Spanish and I am standing watching them. They kept talking about my issue in front of me in Spanish so I said can you please speak English and the manger looks at me and leave without saying any word. I just ordered a basic chicken meal for lunch with one side of mashed potatoes and a drink. They tried to charge me the wrong amount and it took forever for them to realize and admit that they had be wrong. Then I quickly looked at my food and left. However, when I got home, I had the completely wrong meal, instead of chicken thighs, I got what looked like one chicken leg and a chicken tender. It was also really tough and disgusting. read more

There's nothing like studying that afflicts me with a bad case of munchies. Well, there are others, but that's not the point... What do I crave? There's just something about crunchy crispy fried chicken, with juicy dark meat. This is the closest place to campus that has SOME type of fried chicken. The chicken is not exactly "fingerlickin' good" - it seems extraordinarily greasy here. Even their "crispy" recipe is soaked to the point that it's not even remotely crunchy. Popeyes totally has KFC beat on all levels when it comes to chicken. However, this KFC is great for those fried chicken cravers at UCSD, with its proximity to campus. If you have to come here, get the individual meals. And get it with cole slaw and mashed potatoes. read more

Hello, I want to impart a rather disappointing visit to your restaurant m(taco bell/kfc). First I have limited time for lunch on a normal workday. I went to the restaurant to get the quesorita box because of the xbox game you were running. I had eaten at the taco bell/kfc 5 times that week for this promotion. After waiting a long time to place my order. ,there was only one person taking orders and the line was out the door. I ordered the box and also tried a coupon I received at another visit for a free go cup. The associate charged me for an additional drink. I explained that I already bought a drink with my box and since I was alone did not need to buy an additional drink. The coupon states free go cup with purchase of any drink. Since I am sure the drink that was included in my order wasn't free I already paid for a drink. I asked her to get a manager who finally came over and ignored me, did something and walked away. The charge was still there and I asked again if the drink I already purchased was free and she said no. At this point I was annoyed and regretting my decision of coming here. There was a long line so I just let it go. The order was available fast but I did not receive the game code with my purchase. I asked them about it and they said it was over. I asked then why do you have a sign outside, a sign on the menu board and the official rules state that the contest ends on oct 4 at midnight. I was ignored again. If there had not been a long line and I was short on time I would have asked for a full refund. This was a horrible experience and I don't know whether I will come back. Very nice staff even in the middle of a rush at dinner time. Restaurant also much cleaner than most kfc locations I've been ro. You sort of have to grade on a curve with chains, and for a kfc and taco bell this place is great. Blanca was my cashier and she was awesome! read more

We used to come here all the time to fill our fried chicken needs before we discovered the Popeye's in Mira Mesa. We haven't been back since, but the free grilled chicken and sides promotion brought us back. Fortunately, the line wasn't too long and we got our free meals pretty quickly. Two pieces of grilled chicken, two sides, and a biscuit sounds like a lot, but imagine those tiny frozen dinners and that's what you're in for. I guess it was expected, given that it was a free meal. But, if the sizes of those pieces of grilled chicken were really that small, I would be unsatisfied. I'm not even sure how they found chickens that small. I really hope they were actual chickens and not pigeons. Aside from that, I was pleasantly surprised by how good the grilled chicken was. It was tender and juicy and tasted just as good as the fried chicken, without the fried exterior. Minus points for only having beans and mashed potatoes as sides. Since when did they remove potato wedges as a side? More minus points for not having any biscuits. I left still hungry, but glad I didn't have to pay $5 for that meal. read more

Terrible, I don't think anyone here takes their job serious. I make a simple order for a popcorn chicken combo, pay and then wait for my food. I understand that it can take awhile for the chicken and I'm ok with that because it will be fresh. Here is what I don't like, the worker in the back with a basket of hot fresh chicken dumping the new chicken on top of all of the junking dried up old crunchy pieces that looked like they have been under a heat lamp for a week. Went here yesterday, kids were hungry, we were nowhere near home and this was the first drive-thru I saw on Miramar Rd. I was excited to see that familiar Taco Bell sign, and even more so when I saw KFC!! I ordered two #4's and a #7 from the KFC side. When I pull to the window to pay, my kids point out the McDonald's across the street. But I already had my mind set on KFC at this point. So we get our food and drive off. Gave my kids their popcorn chicken, which was not bad, and the potato wedges were awesome. Then I get to mine, open the mac and cheese and.... "WTF is this SHIT!!!" Took about 2 bites and said screw it, moved on to the crispy chicken sandwich things, sauce was nasty and chicken was TOUGH and DRY!! Didn't get half way through that either, Gross. Move on to the next, more crispy chicken strips, no better than the nasty sandwich. So I start looking for something to dip it in, thinking that will help... and guess what no dipping sauce or ketchup. Take a bite of the "crispy" chicken breast, all the 'crisp' slides off with the grease when I pick it up. Look at my receipt to call them, receipt says 'no dipping suace', like they actually asked in the first place. Call the number thats on the receipt and the phone just rings and rings and rings. The best thing about this place is the fries and the soda. Next time I'll wait to get home! The real question though... How the HELL is this place still in business!!! read more
